Copyright Policy for HinduText

Effective Date: June 2026

HinduText ("we," "our," or "us") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users and authors to do the same. This Copyright Policy outlines how we handle copyright ownership, intellectual property, and claims of infringement on our platform.

1. HinduText's Intellectual Property

The website’s design, layout, graphics, branding, logos, and specific original content created by the HinduText administration are the exclusive property of HinduText and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary content without explicit written permission.

2. Ancient Texts and Public Domain

HinduText acts as a digital sanctuary for ancient Hindu scriptures, texts, and myths (e.g., Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Itihasas). We acknowledge that the original ancient Sanskrit texts and their literal meanings are part of the public domain and belong to the collective heritage of humanity. However, specific modern translations, profound interpretations, and unique commentaries published on this site may be protected by the copyright of the respective translators or authors.

3. Author Contributions and Ownership

When an approved Author publishes original articles, stories, or interpretations on HinduText:

  • The Author retains the primary copyright to their original written work.
  • By publishing on HinduText, the Author grants us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and distribute the content on our platform and associated channels for promotional purposes.
  • Authors guarantee that the content they submit is their original creation and does not infringe upon the copyrights or intellectual property rights of any third party.

4. Copyright Infringement (DMCA / Takedown Notice)

We take copyright infringement seriously. If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent and believe that any content hosted on HinduText infringes upon your copyrights, you may submit a notification pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) or applicable local laws.

To request a takedown, please provide us with the following information:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed (please provide specific URLs).
  • Your contact information, including your address, telephone number, and an email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

5. Contact for Copyright Issues

Please send all copyright infringement notices and related queries through our Contact Us page.

Upon receiving a valid takedown notice, HinduText reserves the right to remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material and, if applicable, terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
