Hinduism doesn't allow Non Veg

? The Common Claim

"True Hindus must be Vegetarian. Eating meat is against Hinduism. "

The Actual Truth
Many Hindus follow a Vegetarian diet because they believe in Ahimsa (non violence) and see it as a spiritual way of life. However, Hinduism has never has one food rule for everyone.  Different Hindu Communities have followed different diets for thousands of years. While Vegetarian is highly respected in many traditions,  many Hindu communities have also traditionally eaten meat or fish. Being Hindu has never depended on following one particular diet. It's upto personal choice and their duty sometimes. Even in Texts of Hindus like Mahabharat, meat eating is practiced by Pandavas, ofcourse that's  not means Lord Ram ate meat like some single brain cell people says. Shkatriya have permission to eat meat but it's only permission not compulsion, so it's upto their personal choice, if they wants to eat meat or not.

Detailed Investigation

The idea that all Hindus are Vegetarian is a common misunderstanding. Historical records and Religious texts shows that food habits among Hindus have always been diverse.

In many parts of India,  especially coastal regions,  the Northeast Hindu population have traditionally eaten meat. At the same time, many communities influenced by Bhakati movements and the principle of Ahimsa adopted Vegetarianism as an important part of their spiritual life.

Ancient texts also show different views. Most of text praise Vegetarianism and Non-Violence, while others mention meat consumption in certain social and ritual contexts. Over time, customs changed and developed differently across regions and communities.

This diversity is one of the reasons why Sanatan Dharma has survived for thousands of years. Different languages, different rituals, different traditions, and different food habits.

Yet all remained under one civilizational and spiritual tradition.
