अ॒यं प्र॑तिस॒रो म॒णिर्वी॒रो वी॒राय॑ बध्यते । वी॒र्यवान्त्सपत्न॒हा शूर॑वीरः परि॒पाणः॑ सुम॒ङ्गलः॑ ॥ (१)

तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित यह मणि कृत्या राक्षसी को उसी के पास लौटा देती है, जो उसे किसी पर जादू टोने के रूप में भेजता है. यह वीरकर्म करने वाले शत्रुओं को भगाने में समर्थ है. यह मणि अतिशय शक्तिशालिनी, शत्रु घातक एवं यजमान की रक्षा करने वाले पुरोहित का मंगल करने वाली है. (१)
EN English Translation
This gem made from tilak tree returns the krita rakshasi to the one who sends it as a witchcraft on someone. It is capable of driving away the enemies who do heroic deeds. This gem is going to be very powerful, the enemy is deadly and the priest who protects the host. (1)
अ॒यं म॒णिः स॑पत्न॒हा सु॒वीरः॒ सह॑स्वान्वा॒जी सह॑मान उ॒ग्रः । प्र॒त्यक्कृ॒त्या दू॒षय॑न्नेति वी॒रः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित मणि शत्रु घातक, संतान देने वाली, शक्तिशालिनी, वेगवती, शत्रुओं को पराजित करने वाली, उग्र तथा दूसरे के द्वारा भेजी गई कृत्या राक्षसी को उसी के विरोध में भेजने वाली है. शत्रुओं को अनेक प्रकार से दूषित करने वाली यह मणि हमारे सामने आती है. (२)
EN English Translation
The gem made from tilak tree is the enemy deadly, child-giving, powerful, vegvati, defeating enemies, furious and the act sent by others is going to send the demon against him. This gem that contaminates enemies in many ways comes in front of us. (2)
अ॒नेनेन्द्रो॑ म॒णिना॑ वृ॒त्रम॑हन्न॒नेनासु॑रा॒न्परा॑भावयन्मनी॒षी । अ॒नेना॑जय॒द्द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी उ॒भे इ॒मे अ॒नेना॑जयत्प्र॒दिश॒श्चत॑स्रः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
किसी भी उपाय से वृत्रासुर को मारने में असफल होने पर इंद्र ने इसी मणि को बांधने के प्रभाव से विजय के उपाय जाने एवं राक्षसों को पराजित एवं नष्ट किया था. इंद्र ने इसी मणि के प्रभाव से धरती और आकाश पर विजय प्राप्त की है. इसी मणि के प्रभाव से इंद्र ने पूर्व, पश्चिम, उत्तर एवं दक्षिण-चारों दिशाओं को जीता है. (३)
EN English Translation
After failing to kill Vritrasura by any means, Indra, with the effect of tying this gem, went for victory and defeated and destroyed the demons. Indra has conquered the earth and the sky with the influence of this gem. With the influence of this gem, Indra has won all four directions east, west, north and south. (3)
अ॒यं स्रा॒क्त्यो म॒णिः प्र॑तीव॒र्तः प्र॑तिस॒रः । ओज॑स्वान्विमृ॒धो व॒शी सो अ॒स्मान्पा॑तु स॒र्वतः॑ ॥ (४)

तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित यह मणि, विरोधियों को लौटाने वाली तथा रोग आदि का विनाश करने वाली है. शत्रु विनाशक तेज से युक्त, शत्रुओं को भगा कर युद्ध का अभाव करने वाली एवं सब को वश में करने वाली यह मणि सभी से हमारी रक्षा करे. (४)
EN English Translation
This gem made from tilak tree is going to return the opponents and destroy diseases etc. May this gem, which is full of enemy destructive speed, which lacks war by driving away enemies and subduing everyone, protects us from everyone. (4)
तद॒ग्निरा॑ह॒ तदु॒ सोम॑ आह॒ बृह॒स्पतिः॑ सवि॒ता तदिन्द्रः॑ । ते मे॑ दे॒वाः पु॒रोहि॑ताः प्र॒तीचीः॑ कृ॒त्याः प्र॑तिस॒रैर॑जन्तु ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उस अग्नि देव ने कृत्या राक्षसी को वापस लौटाने वाली मणि के विषय में मुझे बताया है. सोम, बृहस्पति, सविता एवं इंद्र ने भी मणि के विषय में यही कहा है. अन्य प्रसिद्ध देवों एवं पुरोहितों ने भी इस मणि के द्वारा कृत्या राक्षसी को वापस लौटाया है. (५)
EN English Translation
That agni god has told me about the gem that returned krita rakshasi. Som, Brihaspati, Savita and Indra have also said the same about Mani. Other famous gods and priests have also returned krita rakshasi through this gem. (5)
अ॒न्तर्द॑धे॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी उ॒ताह॑रु॒त सूर्य॑म् । ते मे॑ दे॒वाः पु॒रोहि॑ताः प्र॒तीचीः॑ कृ॒त्याः प्र॑तिस॒रैर॑जन्तु ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं धरती और आकाश को तथा दिवस और सूर्य को अपने तथा कृत्या राक्षसी के मध्य में स्थापित करता हूं. धरती, आकाश आदि देव एवं यजमान को कृत्या से बचाने वाले पुरोहित तिलक वृक्ष से मणि के द्वारा कृत्या राक्षसी को वापस करें. (६)
EN English Translation
I establish the earth and the sky and the day and the sun between me and the krita demon. Return the karta rakshasi by gem from the tilak tree, who saved the earth, sky etc. from the sky etc. and the host. (6)
ये स्रा॒क्त्यं म॒णिं जना॒ वर्मा॑णि कृ॒ण्वते॑ । सूर्य॑ इव॒ दिव॑मा॒रुह्य॒ वि कृ॒त्या बा॑धते व॒शी ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कृत्या राक्षसी से बचाने वाले लोग तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित मणि को अपना कवच बना लेते हैं. यह मणि दूसरे द्वारा भेजी गई कृत्या का उसी प्रकार विनाश करती है, जिस प्रकार सूर्य आकाश में पहुंच कर अंधकार का विनाश करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
People who protect from Krita Rakshasi make the gem made of tilak tree their armor. This gem destroys the work sent by another in the same way as the sun reaches the sky and destroys darkness. (7)
स्रा॒क्त्येन॑ म॒णिना॒ ऋषि॑णेव मनी॒षिणा॑ । अजै॑षं॒ सर्वाः॒ पृत॑ना॒ वि मृधो॑ हन्मि र॒क्षसः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मुझ साधक ने तिलक वृक्ष द्वारा निर्मित मणि की सहायता से पूतना नामक सभी राक्षसियों को उसी प्रकार जीत लिया है, जिस प्रकार विद्वान् ऋषि अथर्वा ने जीता था. मैं उपद्रवकारी राक्षसों को तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित मणि के द्वारा नष्ट करता हूं. (८)
EN English Translation
I seeker, with the help of a gem made by the Tilak tree, have conquered all the demons called Putna in the same way as the learned sage Atharva won. I destroy the rowdy demons with a gem made of tilak tree. (8)
याः कृ॒त्या आ॑ङ्गिर॒सीर्याः कृ॒त्या आ॑सु॒रीर्याः कृ॒त्याः स्व॒यंकृ॑ता॒ या उ॑ चा॒न्येभि॒राभृ॑ताः । उ॒भयी॒स्ताः परा॑ यन्तु परा॒वतो॑ नव॒तिं ना॒व्या अति॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो कृत्या राक्षसियां अंगिरा ऋषि द्वारा बताई हुई विधि से प्रयुक्त हैं, जो कृत्या राक्षसियां असुरों द्वारा निर्मित हैं, जो कृत्या राक्षसियां चित्त विकलता के कारण किसी के द्वारा अपने ऊपर की गई हैं अथवा अन्य अभिचारकों द्वारा की गई हैं, ये दोनों प्रकार की कृत्याएं दूर चली जाएं. कृत्याएं नौ नदियों के पार चली जाएं. (९)
EN English Translation
The krita rakshasas which are used in the manner described by Angira Rishi, the krita rakshasas are created by asuras, the acts which have been done by someone due to mental detachment or have been done by other abhicharaks, both these types of acts should go away. The works should go across the nine rivers. (9)
अ॒स्मै म॒णिं वर्म॑ बध्नन्तु दे॒वा इन्द्रो॒ विष्णुः॑ सवि॒ता रु॒द्रो अ॒ग्निः । प्र॒जाप॑तिः परमे॒ष्ठी वि॒राड्वै॑श्वान॒र ऋष॑यश्च॒ सर्वे॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र, विष्णु, सविता, रुद्र एवं अग्नि कृत्या से बचने के इच्छुक इस यजमान को कवच के स्थान पर तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित मणि बांधें अथवा सर्वोच्च स्थान पर विराजमान प्रजापति एवं सभी ऋषि यजमान की रक्षा के लिए यह मणि बांधें. प्रजापति संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड के स्वामी तथा सभी मनुष्यों के हितकारी हिरण्यगर्भ हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
This host, who wants to avoid Indra, Vishnu, Savita, Rudra and Agni Kriya, tie a gem made of tilak tree in place of armor or tie this gem to protect Prajapati and all sages sitting at the highest place. Prajapati is the swami of the entire universe and the benefactor of all human beings. (10)
उत्त॒मो अ॒स्योष॑धीनामन॒ड्वाञ्जग॑तामिव व्या॒घ्रः श्वप॑दामिव । यमैच्छा॒मावि॑दाम॒ तं प्र॑ति॒स्पाश॑न॒मन्ति॑तम् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मणि के उपादान तिलक वृक्ष! तू सभी वृक्षों में उत्तम है, क्योंकि अन्य वृक्ष सीमित फल के साधक हैं और तू समस्त अभिमत फल देने वाला होने के कारण उसी प्रकार श्रेष्ठ है, जिस प्रकार बैल पालतू चौपायों में और बाघ हिंसक जंगली पशुओं में श्रेष्ठ है. हम ने जिस की इच्छा की थी, उसे तेरी सहायता से पा लिया. मेरी इच्छित वस्तु विरोधी अभिचारक की बाधक एवं मेरे अत्यंत समीप रहने वाली है. (११)
EN English Translation
O Tilak tree, the gift of gem! You are the best of all trees, because other trees are seekers of limited fruit, and you are superior because of all the opinion fruit, just as the bull is superior among pet fours and the tiger is superior among violent wild animals. We got what we wanted with your help. My desired object is going to be a hindrance to the opposing agent and very close to me. (11)
स इद्व्या॒घ्रो भ॑व॒त्यथो॑ सिं॒हो अथो॒ वृषा॑ । अथो॑ सपत्न॒कर्श॑नो॒ यो बिभ॑र्ती॒मं म॒णिम् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो पुरुष तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित मणि को बांधता है, वह बाघ और सिंह के समान दूसरों को पराजित करने वाला होता है. वह गायों में सांड़ के समान स्वच्छंद घूमने वाला होता है एवं शत्रु का विनाश करता है. (१२)
EN English Translation
The man who ties the gem made of tilak tree is the one who defeats others like a tiger and a lion. He is free to roam like a bull in cows and destroys the enemy. (12)
नैनं॑ घ्नन्त्यप्स॒रसो॒ न ग॑न्ध॒र्वा न मर्त्याः॑ । सर्वा॒ दिशो॒ वि रा॑जति॒ यो बिभ॑र्ती॒मं म॒णिम् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित मणि धारण करने वाले को अप्सराएं, गंधर्व और मनुष्य कोई नहीं मार पाता है, वह सभी दिशाओं का स्वामी होता है. (१३)
EN English Translation
No one can kill apsaras, Gandharvas and human beings who wear a gem made from tilak tree, he is the swami of all directions. (13)
क॒श्यप॒स्त्वाम॑सृजत क॒श्यप॑स्त्वा॒ समै॑रयत् । अबि॑भ॒स्त्वेन्द्रो॒ मानु॑षे॒ बिभ्र॑त्संश्रेषि॒णेज॑यत् । म॒णिं स॒हस्र॑वीर्यं॒ वर्म॑ दे॒वा अ॑कृण्वत ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मणि! कश्यप ऋषि ने तुम्हारा निर्माण किया था और उन्हीं ने तुम्हें सब के उपकार करने की प्रेरणा दी थी. सभी देवों के अधिपति इंद्र ने वृत्रासुर को मारने के लिए तुम्हें धारण किया था. इसी कारण मनुष्यों में जो तुम्हें धारण करता है, वह संग्राम में विजयी होता है. प्राचीन काल में असीमित सामर्थ्य वाली इस मणि को देवों ने अपना कवच बनाया था. (१४)
EN English Translation
O gem! Sage Kashyap created you and he inspired you to do everyone's favor. Indra, the ruler of all the gods, had assumed you to kill Vritrasura. That is why the one who holds you among human beings is victorious in the battle. In ancient times, this gem with unlimited power was made by the gods as their armor. (14)
यस्त्वा॑ कृ॒त्याभि॒र्यस्त्वा॑ दी॒क्षाभि॑र्य॒ज्ञैर्यस्त्वा॒ जिघां॑सति । प्र॒त्यक्त्वमि॑न्द्र॒ तं ज॑हि॒ वज्रे॑ण श॒तप॑र्वणा ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शांति की कामना करने वाले पुरुष! जो तुझे कृत्या संबंधिनी हिंसक क्रियाओं द्वारा एवं यज्ञ दीक्षाओं द्वारा मारना चाहता है, तू इंद्र के समान बन कर अपने सौ पर्वो वाले वज्र के द्वारा उसे मार डाल. (१५)
EN English Translation
O men wishing for peace! Whoever wants to kill you through violent actions and yagya initiations, you should become like Indra and kill him with your hundred-festival thunderbolt. (15)
अ॒यमिद्वै प्र॑तीव॒र्त ओज॑स्वान्संज॒यो म॒णिः । प्र॒जां धनं॑ च रक्षतु परि॒पाणः॑ सुम॒ङ्गलः॑ ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तिलक वृक्ष से निर्मित यह मणि निश्चय ही पाप राक्षसी कृत्या को लौटाने में समर्थ, अतिशय ओजस्वी एवं विजय प्राप्त करने वाली है. यह मणि पुत्र, पौत्र आदि की रक्षा करे एवं मेरी भी सभी प्रकार रक्षा करे. (१६)
EN English Translation
This gem made of tilak tree is definitely capable of returning the sin demonic act, very energetic and conquering. May this gem protect the son, grandson etc. and protect me in all ways. (16)
अ॑सप॒त्नं नो॑ अध॒राद॑सप॒त्नं न॑ उत्त॒रात् । इन्द्रा॑सप॒त्नं नः॑ प॒श्चाज्ज्योतिः॑ शूर पु॒रस्कृ॑धि ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम शूर हो. तुम दक्षिण दिशा से, उत्तर दिशा से पश्चिम दिशा से एवं पूर्व दिशा से हमें विनाशक तेज प्रदान करो. (१७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You're brave. You give us destructive speed from the south direction, from the north direction to the west and from the east direction. (17)
वर्म॑ मे॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी वर्माह॒र्वर्म॒ सूर्यः॑ । वर्म॑ म॒ इन्द्र॑श्चा॒ग्निश्च॒ वर्म॑ धा॒ता द॑धातु मे ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
धरती और आकाश के देवता मेरे लिए कवच बनें. दिवस और सूर्य मेरे लिए कवच बनें. इंद्र और अग्नि मेरे लिए कवच बनें. (१८)
EN English Translation
May the gods of earth and sky be my shield. Day and sun be armor for me. Indra and Agni become shields for me. (18)
ऐ॑न्द्रा॒ग्नं वर्म॑ बहु॒लं यदु॒ग्रं विश्वे॑ दे॒वा नाति॒विध्य॑न्ति॒ सर्वे॑ । तन्मे॑ त॒न्वं त्रायतां स॒र्वतो॑ बृ॒हदायु॑ष्माञ्ज॒रद॑ष्टि॒र्यथासा॑नि ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र और अग्ने देवों द्वारा सम्मत मणिरूपी कवच अतिशय शक्तिशाली होता है. सभी देव इस मणि रूपी कवच का भेदन नहीं करते अर्थात् उसे धारण करने वाले का पालन करते हैं. इस प्रकार का मणि रूपी कवच मेरे शरीर की सभी ओर से रक्षा करे, जिस से मैं सौ वर्ष की आयु प्राप्त करूं तथा वृद्धावस्था तक जीवित रहूं. (१९)
EN English Translation
The mani-like armor composed by Indra and the agni gods is very powerful. Not all gods penetrate this gem-like armor, that is, follow the one who wears it. May this kind of gem-like armor protect my body from all sides, so that I attain the age of a hundred years and live to old age. (19)
आ मा॑रुक्षद्देवम॒णिर्म॒ह्या अ॑रि॒ष्टता॑तये । इ॒मं मे॒थिम॑भि॒संवि॑शध्वं तनू॒पानं॑ त्रि॒वरू॑थ॒मोज॑से ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र, अग्नि आदि देवों के द्वारा धारण की गई मणि विनाश से बचाने के लिए मेरी भुजा में बंधी है. हे मनुष्यो! तुम भी शत्रुओं का विनाश करने वाली इस मणि का सभी प्रकार आश्रय लो. यह मणि शरीर की रक्षा करने वाली, तीन प्रकार के आवरण से युक्त एवं बल बढ़ाने वाली है. (२०)
EN English Translation
The gem worn by indra, agni etc. is tied in my arm to save it from destruction. O men! You also take shelter in all kinds of this gem that destroys enemies. This gem protects the body, has three types of coverings and increases strength. (20)
अ॒स्मिन्निन्द्रो॒ नि द॑धातु नृ॒म्णमि॒मं दे॑वासो अभि॒संवि॑शध्वम् । दी॑र्घायु॒त्वाय॑ श॒तशा॑रदा॒यायु॑ष्माञ्ज॒रद॑ष्टि॒र्यथास॑त् ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र उस मणि में हमारा चाहा हुआ सुख स्थापित करें. हे देवो! अधिक आयु प्राप्त करने के लिए तुम भी इस मणि के चारों ओर स्थित रहो. यह प्रार्थना सौ वर्ष की एवं वृद्धावस्था पर्यंत आयु प्राप्त करने के लिए है. (२१)
EN English Translation
May Indra establish our desired happiness in that gem. O God! To get older you also stay located around this gem. This prayer is to attain the age of 100 years and till old age. (21)
स्व॑स्ति॒दा वि॒शां पति॑र्वृत्र॒हा वि॑मृ॒धो व॒शी । इन्द्रो॑ बध्नातु ते म॒णिं जि॑गी॒वाँ अप॑राजितः । सो॑म॒पा अ॑भयङ्क॒रो वृषा॑ । स त्वा॑ रक्षतु स॒र्वतो॒ दिवा॒ नक्तं॑ च वि॒श्वतः॑ ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अपने भक्तों का कल्याण करने वाले, देव मनुष्य रूपी प्रजाओं के पालक, वृत्र राक्षस का वध करने वाले, अपराजित, सोम पीने वाले, अभय कर्ता एवं अभिमत फल दाता इंद्र देव उस महिमामयी मणि को तुम्हारी भुजा में बांधें एवं तुम्हें सभी भयों से रातदिन तथा सभी ओर से बचाएं. (२२)
EN English Translation
May Indra Dev, who welfare his devotees, the guardian of the gods and goddesses of the people of man, the one who kills the vritra demon, the undefeated, the soma drinker, the fearless doer and the giver of the opinion fruit, tie that glorious gem in your arm and save you from all fears day and night and from all sides. (22)
