अबोध्यग्निः समिधा जनानां प्रति धेनुमिवायतीमुषासम् । यह्वा इव प्र वयामुज्जिहानाः प्र भानवः सस्रते नाकमच्छ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप लोगों (यजमानों) की समिधा से प्रदीप्त होते हैं. नींद से उठ कर गौएं जैसे जाग्रत होती हैं, वैसे ही आप जाग्रत हैं. पेड़ों की शाखाएं जैसे आकाश की ओर फैलती हैं, वैसे ही आप की लपटें स्वर्ग की ओर फैलती हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are illuminated by the samidha of the people (hosts). As the cows wake up from sleep, you are awake. Just as the branches of trees spread towards the sky, so your flames spread towards heaven. (1)
अबोधि होता यजथाय देवानूर्ध्वो अग्निः सुमनाः प्रातरस्थात् । समिद्धस्य रुशददर्शि पाजो महान्देवस्तमसो निरमोचि ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप यज्ञ के प्रबल आधार हैं. देवों के लिए (हवि पहुंचाने हेतु) आप को प्रज्वलित किया जाता है. आप ऊर्ध्वगामी हैं व सुबह अच्छे मन से ऊपर की ओर जाते हैं आप महान हैं. आप को हम प्रत्यक्ष देख सकते हैं. आप देवताओं व संसार को अंधकार से दूर करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the strong base of yajna. You are ignited for the gods (to convey the havi). You are upward and go upstairs with a good heart in the morning, you are great. We can see you directly. You remove the gods and the world from darkness. (2)
यदीं गणस्य रशनामजीगः शुचिरङ्क्ते शुचिभिर्गोभिरग्निः । आद्दक्षिणा युज्यते वाजयन्त्युत्तानामूर्ध्वो अधयज्जुहूभिः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप बाधाएं व अंधेरे को दूर करते हैं. आप संसार को प्रकाशमान व यजमान घी की आहुतियों से बलवान बनाते हैं. आप ऊर्ध्वगामी हो कर उस घी वाली आहुतियों को स्वीकारते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You remove obstacles and darkness. You make the world strong with the offerings of light and host ghee. You go upwards and accept that ghee offerings. (3)
इदँ श्रेष्ठं ज्योतिषां ज्योतिरागाच्चित्रः प्रकेतो अजनिष्ट विभ्वा । यथा प्रसूता सवितुः सवायैवा रात्र्युषसे योनिमारैक् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषा! आप सभी ज्योतियों से श्रेष्ठ ज्योति वाली हैं. आप की ज्योति सर्वत्र फैलती है. सभी वस्तुओं को ज्योतिर्मय बना देती हैं. सविता के अस्त होने के बाद रात्रि उषा को उत्पन्न होने के लिए जगह देती हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O Usha! You are the best light of all the lights. Your light spreads everywhere. They make all things luminous. After Savita sets, the night gives Usha a place to be born. (4)
रुशाद्वत्सा रुशती श्वेत्यागादारैगु कृष्णा सदनान्यस्याः । समानबन्धू अमृते अनूची द्यावा वर्णं चरत आमिनाने ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषा! आप सूर्य का चमकीला स्वरूप ले कर पैदा हुई और रात्रि काले रंग का. सूर्य दोनों के समान रूप से बंधु हैं, दोनों अमर हैं. स्वर्गलोक में एक के बाद एक आतीजाती हैं दोनों एकदूसरे का प्रभाव समाप्त करती हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Usha! You were born with a bright form of the sun and the night is black. Sun is equally brotherly to both, both are immortal. One after the other comes to heaven, both of them end each other's influence. (5)
समानो अध्वा स्वस्रोरनन्तस्तमन्यान्या चरतो देवशिष्टे । न मेथेते न तस्थतुः सुमेके नक्तोषासा समनसा विरूपे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दोनों बहनों (उषा और रात्रि) की एक ही राह है. वह राह अनंत है. उसी राह पर ये दोनों एकदूसरे के पीछे चलती हैं, भले ही इन के स्वरूप एकदूसरे से अलग हैं पर इन के मन समान हैं. ये दोनों अपनेअपने कायो में लगी रहती हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Both sisters (Usha and Ratri) have the same path. That path is infinite. On the same path, these two follow each other, even though their forms are different from each other but their minds are the same. Both of them are engaged in their own work. (6)
आ भात्यग्निरुषसामनीकमुद्विप्राणां देवया वाचो अस्थुः । अर्वाञ्चा नूनँ रथ्येह यातं पीपिवाँसमश्विना घर्ममच्छ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अन्नि प्रज्वलित हो गए हैं. उषा के प्रकट होते ही अग्नि प्रज्वलित हो जाते हैं. दिव्य प्रार्थनाएं शुरू हो गई हैं. अश्विनीकुमार रथ में विराज गए हैं. हम उन से सोमरस पीने के लिए यज्ञ में पधारने का अनुरोध करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Anni has ignited. As soon as Usha appears, the agni ignites. Divine prayers have begun. Ashwinikumar has gone to sit in the chariot. We request them to come to the yagna to drink someras. (7)
न सँस्कृतं प्र मिमीतो गमिष्ठान्ति नूनमश्विनोपस्तुतेह । दिवाभिपित्वेवसागमिष्ठा प्रत्यवर्त्तिं दाशुषे शम्भविष्ठा ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अश्चिनीकुमारो! आप परिष्कृत पदार्थो को ग्रहण करने की कृपा कीजिए. यज्ञस्थान के समीप आने वाले आप के लिए उपासना की जाती है. दिन के आते ही आप प्रतिष्ठित हो जाते हैं. आप यजमान को प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त कराने की कृपा कीजिए. (८)
EN English Translation
O Ashchini Kumaro! Please take refined substances. Worship is done for you who come near the yajnasthan. You become distinguished as the day comes. Please give prestige to the host. (8)
उता यातँ सङ्गवे प्रातरह्नो मध्यन्दिन उदिता सूर्यस्य । दिवा नक्तमवसा शन्तमेन नेदानीं पीतिरश्विना ततान ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! सूर्य उगने के समय, दिन के मध्य में, शाम और दिन रात में आप पधारिए. आप अपने रक्षा साधनों सहित पधारने की कृपा कीजिए. आप के ये साधन दिनरात सुखदायी हैं. अभी तक आप के बिना सोमरस पीने का कार्य शुरू नहीं किया गया है. (९)
EN English Translation
O Ashwinikumaro! At the time of the sun rising, in the middle of the day, in the evening and day at night, you come. Please come with your protective equipment. These means of yours are happy day and night. So far the act of drinking somers without you has not been started. (9)
