प्र सोमासो विपश्चितोऽपो नयन्त ऊर्मयः । वनानि महिषा इव ॥ (१)

सागर की लहरें सागर में जैसे मिल जाती हैं, वैसे सोमरस जल में मिल जाता है. वन में मिले भैंसों की तरह सोमरस जल में एकमेक हो जाता है. (१)
EN English Translation
Just as the waves of the ocean meet in the ocean, somerus is found in the water. Like buffaloes found in the forest, somerus becomes one in the water. (1)
अभि द्रोणानि बभ्रवः शुक्रा ऋतस्य धारया । वाजं गोमन्तमक्षरन् ॥ (२)

सोमरस चमकीला है. वह अपनी ऋत की धारा से भूरा सोम गाय के दूध में झरता है. वह शक्तिमान है. (२)
EN English Translation
Somerus is bright. He springs from his stream of rice in brown som cow's milk. He is powerful. (2)
सुता इन्द्राय वायवे वरुणाय मरुद्भ्यः । सोमा अर्षन्तु विष्णवे ॥ (३)

सोम इंद्र, वायु, मरुदगणों व विष्णु को प्राप्त हों. (३)
EN English Translation
May Soma be attained by Indra, Vayu, Marudaganas and Vishnu. (3)
प्र सोम देववीतये सिन्धुर्न पिप्ये अर्णसा । अँशोः पयसा मदिरो न जागृविरच्छा कोशं मधुश्चुतम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप को पानी से भरीपूरी नदियों की तरह पानी में मिलाया जाता है. आप मदिर (आनंददायी) व जाग्रत हैं. मधुरता चुआते हुए सोमरस (पात्र में) इकट्ठा होता है. (४)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are mixed with water like full rivers full of water. You are happy and awake. Someras (in the vessel) gathers, chewing sweetness. (4)
आ हर्यतो अर्जुनो अत्के अव्यत प्रियः सूनुर्न मर्ज्यः । तमीँ हिन्वन्त्यपसो यथा रथं नदीष्वा गभस्त्योः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस को बच्चे की तरह साफसुथरा बना लिया है. प्रिय सोमरस को तेज गति से जल में मिलाया जाता है. वह वैसे ही वेग से पानी में मिलता है, जैसे युद्ध में तेज गति से कोई रथ जाता है. (५)
EN English Translation
Someras has been made clean like a child. Dear Somers is added to water at a fast pace. It gets into the water at the same speed as a chariot in war. (5)
प्र सोमासो मदच्युतः श्रवसे नो मघोनाम् । सुता विदथे अक्रमुः ॥ (६)

सोमरस आनंद बरसाने वाला व यशदाता है. वह यज्ञ में निरंतर पहुंच कर इच्छाओं की पूर्ति करता है. (६)
EN English Translation
Someras is a source of joy and a giver of success. He fulfills the wishes by constantly reaching the yajna. (6)
आदीँ हँसो यथा गणं विश्वस्यावीवशन्मतिम् । अत्यो न गोभिरज्यते ॥ (७)

सोमरस हंस की गति से जाता है. वह संसार के बुद्धिमानों की बुद्धि तक पहुंच रखता है. (७)
EN English Translation
Somerus goes at the speed of the swan. He has access to the wisdom of the world's wise. (7)
आदीं त्रितस्य योषणो हरिँ हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः । इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये ॥ (८)

सोमरस हरा है. इसे पत्थरों से कूट कर निचोड़ा जाता है. उस को तीन ऋषियों की अंगुलियों से इंद्र के पीने के लिए निचोड़ा जाता है. (८)
EN English Translation
Somerus is green. It is crushed with stones and squeezed. It is squeezed with the fingers of three sages for Indra to drink. (8)
अया पवस्व देवयु रेभन्पवित्रं पर्येषि विश्वतः । मधोर्धारा असृक्षत ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप देवताओं से मिलने के इच्छुक हैं. आप पवित्र और अविरल मीठी धारा से झरते हैं व आवाज करते हुए प्रवाहित होते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are willing to meet the gods. You flow through the holy and uninterrupted sweet stream and flow while making a sound. (9)
पवते हर्यतो हरिरति ह्वराँसि रँह्या । अभ्यर्ष स्तोतृभ्यो वीरवद्यशः ॥ (१०)

सोमरस पवित्र और हरा है. वह पराक्रमी संतान और यश प्राप्ति के इच्छुक यजमानों के लिए प्रवाहित होता है. (१०)

Somerus is holy and green. He flows for mighty children and hosts who want to achieve success. (10)
प्र सुन्वानास्यान्धसो मर्तो न वष्ट तद्वचः । अप श्वानमराधसँ हता मखं न भृगवः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
परिष्कृत किए जाते समय सोमरस आवाज करता है. दुष्ट लोग इस आवाज को न सुनें. भृगुओं ने जैसे मख को दूर किया, उसी तरह पापी और कुत्तों को यज्ञ से दूर किया जाए. (११)
EN English Translation
Somerus makes a sound while being refined. Wicked people should not hear this voice. Just as the bhrigus removed the makh, sinners and dogs should be removed from the yajna. (11)
