ब्रह्मचा॒रीष्णंश्च॑रति॒ रोद॑सी उ॒भे तस्मि॑न्दे॒वाः संम॑नसो भवन्ति । स दा॑धार पृथि॒वीं दिवं॑ च॒ स आ॑चा॒र्यं तप॑सा पिपर्ति ॥ (१)

वेदों का अध्ययन करने वाला अपने तप से धरती और आकाश दोनों में व्याप्त होता है. इंद्र आदि सभी देव इस ब्रह्मचारी के प्रति अनुग्रह करते हैं. यह ब्रह्मचारी अपने तप से धरती और स्वर्ग को धारण करता है तथा सन्मार्ग पर चलता हुआ अपने आचार्य का पालन करता है. (१)
EN English Translation
The one who studies the Vedas pervades both the earth and the sky through his penance. All gods like Indra have mercy on this brahmachari. This brahmachari wears the earth and heaven with his penance and follows his master by walking on the right path. (1)
अ॒ग्निं ब्रू॑मो॒ वन॒स्पती॒नोष॑धीरु॒त वी॒रुधः॑ । इन्द्रं॒ बृह॒स्पतिं॒ सूर्यं॒ ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥ (१)

हम अग्नि की, वनस्पतियों की, जड़ीबूटियों और फसलों की, वृक्षों की, इंद्र की, बृहस्पति की तथा सूर्य की स्तुति करते हैं. वे हमें सभी पापों से मुक्त करें. (१)

We praise agni, vegetation, herbs and crops, trees, Indra, Jupiter and sun. May they free us from all sins. (1)
उच्छि॑ष्टे॒ नाम॑ रू॒पं चोच्छि॑ष्टे लो॒क आहि॑तः । उच्छि॑ष्ट॒ इन्द्र॑श्चा॒ग्निश्च॒ विश्व॑म॒न्तः स॒माहि॑तम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उच्छिष्ट अर्थात् होम के बाद बचे हुए भात में नाम और रूप वाला विश्व स्थित है. इस उच्छिष्ट में पृथ्वी आदि सभी लोक स्थित हैं. उच्छिष्ट ही इंद्र और अग्ने हैं. होम के बाद शेष बचे हुए इस भात में ईश्वर ने सारा जगत् स्थापित किया है. (१)
EN English Translation
The world with name and form is located in the remaining rice after Uchishta i.e. Home. All the worlds like earth etc. are located in this uchishta. The uchishtas are Indra and Agni. After the home, God has established the whole world in this remaining rice. (1)
यन्म॒न्युर्जा॒यामाव॑हत्संक॒ल्पस्य॑ गृ॒हादधि॑ । क आ॑सं॒ जन्याः॒ के व॒राः क उ॑ ज्येष्ठव॒रोभ॑वत् ॥ (१)

ब्रह्म माया के अभिमुख उसी प्रकार प्राप्त हुआ, जिस प्रकार पति पत्नी के सामने जाता है. ब्रह्म ने माया को उसी प्रकार प्राप्त किया, जिस प्रकार पति अपनी पत्नी को घर से प्राप्त करता है. ब्रह्मा की सृष्टि रचना की इच्छा में वधू पक्ष के बंधन कौन थे? कन्या का वरण करने वाले कौन थे? उस समय प्रधान वर अर्थात् विवाह करने वाला कौन था? EN English Translation
Brahman attained the face of Maya in the same way as the husband goes in front of the wife. Brahma received Maya in the same way as a husband receives his wife from home. Who were the bonds of the bride's side in Brahma's desire to create creation? Who were the ones who chose the girl? Who was the chief groom at that time? (1)
अग्ने॒ जाय॒स्वादि॑तिर्नाथि॒तेयं ब्र॑ह्मौद॒नं प॑चति पु॒त्रका॑मा । स॑प्तऋ॒षयो॑ भूत॒कृत॒स्ते त्वा॑ मन्थन्तु प्र॒जया॑ स॒हेह॑ ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि देव! तुम अरणि मंथन से उत्पन्न हुए हो. यह देव माता अदिति पुत्र की कामना से इस ब्रह्मौदनासव नामक कर्म में ब्राह्मणों को खिलाने के हेतु भात पकाना चाहती है. मरीच आदि सप्त ऋषि पृथ्वी आदि को बनाने वाले हैं. वे इस देवयज्ञ में मंथन के द्वारा तुम्हें यजमान के पुत्र, पौत्र आदि के साथ उत्पन्न करें. O God of Agni! You have originated from Arani Manthan. This God mata Aditi wants to cook rice to feed Brahmins in this karma called Brahmaudanasav with the wish of son. Marich etc. sapta rishis are going to make the earth etc. May they produce you with the host's son, grandson etc. through churning in this devyagya. (1)
ये बा॒हवो॒ या इष॑वो॒ धन्व॑नां वी॒र्याणि च । अ॒सीन्प॑र॒शूनायु॑धं चित्ताकू॒तं च॒ यद्धृ॒दि । सर्वं॒ तद॑र्बुदे॒ त्वम॒मित्रे॑भ्यो दृ॒शे कु॑रूदा॒रांश्च॒ प्र द॑र्शय ॥ (१)

हमारे योद्धाओं के जो बाण, जो भुजाएं और बल है, तलवारें और फरसारूपी आयुध, चित्त में संकल्पित शत्रुओं को मारना कार्य है, हे अर्बुद ऋषि के पुरुषार्थ! तुम यह सब हमारे शत्रुओं को दिखलाओ. शत्रुओं को डसने के लिए हमें अंतरिक्ष में विचरण करने वाले राक्षसों और पिशाचों को दिखाओ. (१)

The arrows of our warriors, which are arms and force, swords and arms in the form of fur, are the work of killing the enemies resolved in the mind, O effort of The Sage Arbud! Show all this to our enemies. Show us the monsters and vampires roaming in space to bite the enemies. (1)
उत्ति॑ष्ठत॒ सं न॑ह्यध्व॒मुदा॑राः के॒तुभिः॑ स॒ह । सर्पा॒ इत॑रजना॒ रक्षां॑स्य॒मित्रा॒ननु॑ धावत ॥ (१)

हे उदार गुणों वाले सेनानायको! अपने झंडों के साथ उठो और युद्ध के लिए चलो. तुम कवच आदि पहन कर युद्ध के लिए तैयार हो जाओ. हे सर्पो की आकृति वाले देवो! हे राक्षसो! तुम भी हमारे शत्रुओं के पीछे दौड़ो. (१)

O commanders of generous qualities! Get up with your flags and walk to war. You get ready for war by wearing armor etc. O god with the shape of serpents! O demons! You also run after our enemies. (1)
भवा॑शर्वौ मृ॒डतं॒ माभि या॑तं॒ भूत॑पती॒ पशु॑पती॒ नमो॑ वाम् । प्रति॑हिता॒माय॑तां॒ मा वि स्रा॑ष्टं॒ मा नो॑ हिंसिष्टं द्वि॒पदो॒ मा चतु॑ष्पदः ॥ (१)

हे संसार की सृष्टि करने वाले भव एवं संसार की हिंसा करने वाले शर्व! हमें सुखी करो तथा हमारी रक्षा के लिए हमारे सामने आओ. प्राणियों एवं पशुओं के पालक तुम दोनों को नमस्कार है. अपने धनुष की डोरी पर रखा हुआ बाण हमारी ओर मत छोड़ो. हमारे मनुष्यों एवं पशुओं की हिंसा मत करो. (१)

O Bhava, the creator of the world and the one who commits the violence of the world! Make us happy and come before us to protect us. Salutations to both of you, the guardian of animals and animals. 'हे देवदत्त! पूर्ववर्ती अनुष्ठान करने वालों ने जिस शीश से इस ओदन को खाया था, तुम ने यदि उस से भिन्न शीश के द्वारा खाया है तो तुम्हारी संतान ज्येष्ठ क्रम से मरेगी अर्थात् सब से पहले बड़ा लड़का मरेगा, उस के पश्चात उस से कम आयु वाला'-ऐसा शिष्य से गुरु कहे. शिष्य कहे कि इस ओदन को मैं ने न पराङ्मुख हो कर खाया था और न आत्माभिमुख हो कर खाया है. बृहस्पति से संबंधित ओदन का जो शीश है, उस ओर से मैं ने ओदन को खाया था तथा उसी शीश से ओदन को वहां पहुंचाया है, जहां उसे पहुंचना चाहिए. यह ओदन सभी अंगों से युक्त, सभी जोड़ों से युक्त एवं संपूर्ण शरीर वाला है. जो पुरुष ऊपर बताए हुए ढंग से ओदन को खाना जानता है, वही संपूर्ण अंगों से युक्त, सभी जोड़ों से युक्त एवं संपूर्ण शरीर वाला होता है. "O God! If you have eaten this odan with a different head than the head with which the previous ritualists ate it, then your child will die in the first order, that is, the eldest boy will die first of all, after that the younger one should say to the disciple. The disciple should say that I did not eat this odan facing the head, nor have I eaten it in front of the soul. From the head of Odan related to Jupiter, I had eaten Odan and from that head I have brought Odan to where it should reach. This odan is full of all organs, all joints and full body. The man who knows how to eat odan in the manner mentioned above is full of organs, with all joints and with a full body. (1)

प्रा॒णाय॒ नमो॒ यस्य॒ सर्व॑मि॒दं वशे॑ । यो भू॒तः सर्व॑स्येश्व॒रो यस्मि॒न्त्सर्वं॒ प्रति॑ष्ठितम् ॥ (१)

इस प्राण के लिए नमस्कार है, जिस के वश में यह समस्त चराचर जगत् है. यह प्राण सब का ईश्वर है और इसी में सारा जगत् स्थित है. (१)

Salutations to this soul, under whose control this whole grazing world is. This soul is the God of all and in it the whole world is located. (1)
ब्र॑ह्मचा॒रिणं॑ पि॒तरो॑ देवज॒नाः पृथ॑ग्दे॒वा अ॑नु॒संय॑न्ति॒ सर्वे॑ । ग॑न्ध॒र्वा ए॑न॒मन्वा॑य॒न्त्रय॑स्त्रिंशत्त्रिश॒ताः ष॑ट्सह॒स्राः सर्वा॒न्त्स दे॒वांस्तप॑सा पिपर्ति ॥ (२)

पितर, देवजन एवं इंद्र आदि सभी देव ब्रह्मचारी की रक्षा के लिए उस के पीछे चलते हैं. गंधर्व भी ब्रह्मचारी का अनुगमन करते हैं. ब्रह्मचारी अपने तप से तैंतीस, तीस और छह हजार संख्या वाले सभी देवों का पालन करता है. (२)

All the gods like Pitar, Devjan and Indra follow him to protect brahmachari. Gandharva also follows Brahmachari. Brahmachari follows all the gods with thirty-three, thirty and six thousand numbers with his tenacity. (2)
ब्रू॒मो राजा॑नं॒ वरु॑णं मि॒त्रं विष्णु॒मथो॒ भग॑म् । अंशं॒ विव॑स्वन्तं ब्रूम॒स्ते नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥ (२)

हम तेजस्वी वरुण की, मित्र की, विष्णु की, भग की, अंश और विवस्वान अर्थात् सूर्य की स्तुति करते हैं. वे हमें पाप से मुक्त करें. (२)

We praise the bright Varuna, the friend, Vishnu, the Bhaga, ansh and vivasvan i.e. the sun. Let them free us from sin. (2)
उच्छि॑ष्टे॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी विश्वं॑ भू॒तं स॒माहि॑तम् । आपः॑ समु॒द्र उच्छि॑ष्टे च॒न्द्रमा॒ वात॒ आहि॑तः ॥ (२)

उच्छिष्ट अर्थात् होम करने के बाद बचे हुए भात में स्वर्ग, पृथ्वी तथा उन में स्थित प्राणी आश्रित हैं. इस उच्छिष्ट में जल, सागर, चंद्रमा और वायु स्थित हैं. (२)

Heaven, earth and the creatures located in them are dependent in the remaining rice after doing uchishta i.e. hom. Water, ocean, moon and air are located in this uchishta. (2)
तप॑श्चै॒वास्तां॒ कर्म॑ चा॒न्तर्म॑ह॒त्यर्ण॒वे । त आ॑सं॒ जन्या॑स्ते व॒रा ब्रह्म॑ ज्येष्ठव॒रोभ॑वत् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उस सृष्टि रचना के समय सृष्टि की रचना करने वाले परमेश्वर का तप और कर्म ही उस समय स्थित थे. यह तप और कर्म प्रलय काल के सागर का मंत्र था. विवाह के मुहूर्त पर जो कन्या पक्ष वाले बंधन थे, वे ही विवाह करने वाले थे. ब्रह्म उन में सब से बड़ा वर था. (२)
EN English Translation
At the time of that creation, the tenacity and deeds of God, who created the creation, were located at that time. This penance and karma was the mantra of the ocean of the holocaust period. On the muhurat of marriage, only those who were tied with the girl side were going to get married. Brahma was the greatest groom among them. (2)
कृ॑णु॒त धू॒मं वृ॑षणः सखा॒योऽद्रो॑घाविता॒ वाच॒मच्छ॑ । अ॒यम॒ग्निः पृ॑तना॒षाट् सु॒वीरो॒ येन॑ दे॒वा अस॑हन्त॒ दस्यू॑न् ॥ (२)

हे कामना पूर्ण करने वाले एवं जगत् के मित्र सप्त ऋषियो! तुम अरणि मंथन के द्वारा धुआं उत्पन्न करो. ये अग्नि देव स्तुति रूपी ऋचाएं सुन कर उत्तम चरित्र वाले यजमानों की शत्रुओं से रक्षा करते हैं. देवों सहित ये अग्नि देवशत्रु सेनाओं को पराजित करते हैं. अग्नि की सहायता से देवों ने राक्षसों को पराजित किया था. O seven sages who fulfill the wish and friends of the world! You generate smoke through arani churning. These agni gods listen to the verses of praise and protect the hosts with good character from enemies. These agnis, including the Devas, defeat the Devashatru armies. With the help of agni, the devas defeated the demons. (2)
उत्ति॑ष्ठत॒ सं न॑ह्यध्वं॒ मित्रा॒ देव॑जना यू॒यम् । संदृ॑ष्टा गु॒प्ता वः॑ सन्तु॒ या नो॑ मि॒त्राण्य॑र्बुदे ॥ (२)

हे मित्रो अर्थात् हमारी विजय के प्रदानशील देवगणो! तुम सेना की इस छावनी से विजय प्राप्ति के लिए प्रार्थना करो. आप के द्वारा दिए हुए हमारे योद्धा आप के द्वारा रक्षित हैं. हे अर्बुद सर्प! हमारे जो मित्र हैं जो हमारे शत्रुओं के साथ युद्ध करने के लिए आए हैं, उन के तुम अंग बनो. (२)

O friends, that is, the giving gods of our victory! Pray for the victory of the army from this cantonment. Our warriors given by you are protected by you. O arbud serpent! Be a part of our friends who have come to fight with our enemies. (2)
ई॒शां वो॑ वेद॒ राज्यं॒ त्रिष॑न्धे अरु॒णैः के॒तुभिः॑ स॒ह । ये अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे॒ ये दि॒वि पृ॑थि॒व्यां ये च॑ मान॒वाः । त्रिष॑न्धे॒स्ते चेत॑सि दु॒र्णामा॑न॒ उपा॑सताम् ॥ (२)

हे शत्रुओ! वज्र के अभिमानी देव त्रिषंधि तुम्हारा राज्य छीन कर अपने अधिकार में करें. हे वज्रात्मक देव! तुम्हारे जो लाल झंडे आकाश में उत्पात के रूप में उत्पन्न होते हैं तथा भूलोक में मनुष्य संबंधी हैं, तुम उन के साथ आओ. (२)
EN English Translation
O enemies! Trishandhi, the arrogant god of Vajra, take away your kingdom and take possession of it. O wonderful God! Come with your red flags that arise as mischief in the sky and belong to humans in the earth. (2)
शुने॑ क्रो॒ष्ट्रे मा शरी॑राणि॒ कर्त॑म॒लिक्ल॑वेभ्यो॒ गृध्रे॑भ्यो॒ ये च॑ कृ॒ष्णा अ॑वि॒ष्यवः॑ । मक्षि॑कास्ते पशुपते॒ वयां॑सि ते विघ॒से मा वि॑दन्त ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे भव एवं शर्व! तुम हमारे शरीर को कुत्ते और सियार के खाने योग्य मत बनाओ. कातर न होने वाले गिद्धों एवं मांस की इच्छा करने वाले कौओं को भी हमारे शरीर मत खाने दो. हे पशुपति रुद्र! मक्खियां और तुम्हारे पक्षी भी भोजन की इच्छा से हमारे शरीरों को प्राप्त न करें. (२)
EN English Translation
O bhava and sharva! You don't make our bodies edible of dogs and jackals. Do not let vultures that do not bite and crows who desire meat eat our bodies. O Pashupati Rudra! Flies and your birds also do not get our bodies out of the desire for food. (2)
द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी श्रो॒त्रे सू॑र्याचन्द्र॒मसा॒वक्षि॑णी सप्तऋ॒षयः॑ प्राणापा॒नाः ॥ (२)

द्यावा पृथ्वी उस ओदन के दोनों कान, सूर्य, चंद्रमा दोनों आंखें और सात ऋषि उस के प्राण तथा अपान वायु हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The earth is the two ears of that ocean, the sun, the moon, both the eyes and the seven sages are his life and his air. (2)
तत॑श्चैनम॒न्याभ्यां॒ श्रोत्रा॑भ्यां॒ प्राशी॒र्याभ्यां॑ चै॒तं पूर्व॒ ऋष॑यः॒ प्राश्न॑न् । ब॑धि॒रो भ॑विष्य॒सीत्ये॑नमाह । तं वा॑ अ॒हं ना॒र्वाञ्चं॒ न परा॑ञ्चं॒ न प्र॒त्यञ्च॑म् । द्यावा॑पृथि॒वीभ्यां॒ श्रोत्रा॑भ्याम् । ताभ्या॑मेनं॒ प्राशि॑षं॒ ताभ्या॑मेनमजीगमम् । ए॒ष वा ओ॑द॒नः सर्वा॑ङ्गः॒ सर्व॑परुः॒ सर्व॑तनूः । सर्वा॑ङ्ग ए॒व सर्व॑परुः॒ सर्व॑तनूः॒ सं भ॑वति॒ य ए॒वं वेद॑ ॥ (२)

"हे देवदत्त! इन पूर्ववर्ती अनुष्ठान कर्ता ऋषियों ने जिन कानों की ओर से इस ओदन को खाया था, तुम ने यदि उस से भिन्न ओर से उस को खाया तो तुम बहरे हो जाओगे.'-गुरु शिष्य से इस प्रकार कहे. शिष्य कहे कि मैं ने इस ओदन को न पराङ्मुख हो कर खाया, न सामने हो कर खाया और न आत्माभिमुख हो कर खाया. मैं ने ओदन को द्यावा, पृथ्वी रूप कानों की ओर से खाया है. उन्हीं के द्वारा मैं ने ओदन खाया है और उसे वहां पहुंचा दिया, जहां उसे पहुंचना था. यह ओदन सभी अंगों से युक्त, सभी जोड़ों वाला और संपूर्ण शरीर के रूप में है. जो इस ओदन को इस रूप में जानता है, वही समस्त अंगों वाला, सभी जोड़ों सहित एवं संपूर्ण शरीर युक्त होता है. नम॑स्ते प्राण॒ क्रन्दा॑य॒ नम॑स्ते स्तनयि॒त्नवे॑ । नम॑स्ते प्राण वि॒द्युते॒ नम॑स्ते प्राण॒ वर्ष॑ते ॥ (२)

हे ध्वनि करते हुए प्राण! तुम्हारे लिए नमस्कार है, मेघ घटा में घुस कर वर्षा करने वाले तुम्हारे लिए नमस्कार है. बिजली के रूप में प्रकाशित एवं वर्षा करते हुए तुम्हें नमस्कार है. (२)

O soul making sound! Salutations to you, salutations to you who enter the cloud and rain. Salutations to you while lighting and raining in the form of electricity. (2)
आ॑चा॒र्य उप॒नय॑मानो ब्रह्मचा॒रिणं॑ कृणुते॒ गर्भ॑म॒न्तः । तं रात्री॑स्ति॒स्र उ॒दरे॑ बिभर्ति॒ तं जा॒तं द्रष्टु॑मभि॒संय॑न्ति दे॒वाः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आचार्य ब्रह्मचारी का उपनयन अर्थात् यज्ञोपवीत संस्कार कर के अपने समीप रखता हुआ उसे विद्या से संपन्न करता है. आचार्य उस ब्रह्मचारी को तीन रात्रियों तक अपने अत्यधिक समीप रखता है. चौथे दिन विद्यामय शरीर से उत्पन्न उस ब्रह्मचारी को देखने के लिए देवगण एकत्र हो कर आते हैं. (३)

Acharya brahmachari's upanayana i.e. yajnopavit sanskar and keeping it close to him, completes it with knowledge. Acharya keeps that brahmachari very close to him for three nights. On the fourth day, devgans gather to see that brahmachari born from the body of learning. (3)

We praise Savita, Dhata, Pusha, Tvashta and Agni with danadi qualities. Let them free us from sin. (3)
सन्नुच्छि॑ष्टे॒ असं॑श्चो॒भौ मृ॒त्युर्वाजः॑ प्र॒जाप॑तिः । लौ॒क्या उच्छि॑ष्ट॒ आय॑त्ता॒ व्रश्च॒ द्रश्चापि॒ श्रीर्मयि॑ ॥ (३)

Even before the origin of agni etc. gods, senses and senses were born. The worshiper who can know those gods will preach Brahman directly. (3)
अग्नेऽज॑निष्ठा मह॒ते वी॒र्याय ब्रह्मौद॒नाय॒ पक्त॑वे जातवेदः । स॑प्तऋ॒षयो॑ भूत॒कृत॒स्ते त्वा॑जीजनन्न॒स्यै र॒यिं सर्व॑वीरं॒ नि य॑च्छ ॥ (३)

हे उत्पन्न होने वाले प्राणियों के ज्ञाता अग्नि देव! तुम परम सामर्थ्य के लिए अरणि मंथन से उत्पन्न होते हो. पृथ्वी आदि की रचना करने वाले सप्त ऋषियों ने तुम्हें ब्रह्मौदन पकाने के लिए उत्पन्न किया था. तुम इस पत्नी को पुत्र, पौत्र आदि वीरों से युक्त धन प्रदान करो. (३)

O God of agni, the knower of beings born! You are born from the churning of the forest for the ultimate power. The Sapta rishis who created the earth etc. created you to cook Brahmaudan. You give this wife wealth with sons, grandsons etc. heroes. (3)

हे अर्बुदि सर्प! तुम और निर्बुद इस स्थान से चले जाओ. तुम यहां से दूर जाओ. तथा युद्ध करो. तुम आदान और संदान नाम की रस्सियों से शत्रुओं की सेना को बांधो. (३)

O Arbudi serpent! You and Nirbud leave this place. You get away from here. And fight. You tie the army of enemies with ropes named Input and Sandan. (3)
