स॒त्येनोत्त॑भिता॒ भूमिः॒ सूर्ये॒णोत्त॑भिता॒ द्यौः । ऋ॒तेना॑दि॒त्यास्ति॑ष्ठन्ति दि॒वि सोमो॒ अधि॑ श्रि॒तः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सत्य से भूमि और सूर्य से आकाश स्थित है. सूर्य के बिना आकाश में चंद्रमा स्थित नहीं होता. (१)
EN English Translation
Truth is situated by land and sun by sky. Without the sun, the moon is not located in the sky. (1)
तुभ्य॒मग्रे॒पर्य॑वहन्त्सू॒र्यां व॑ह॒तुना॑ स॒ह । स नः॒ पति॑भ्यो जा॒यां दा अ॑ग्ने प्र॒जया॑स॒ह ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि देव! हम उपहारों के साथ सूर्या को तुम्हारे निमित्त लाए थे. तुम हमें संतान वाली पत्नी दो. (१)
EN English Translation
O God of Agni! We brought Surya for you with gifts. You give us a wife with children. (1)
सोमे॑नादि॒त्याब॒लिनः॒ सोमे॑न पृथि॒वी म॒ही । अथो॒ नक्ष॑त्राणामे॒षामु॒पस्थे॒ सोम॒ आहि॑तः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम के कारण आदित्य बलशाली है तथा सोम के कारण पृथ्वी विशाल है. इसी कारण यह सोम नक्षत्रों के समीप रहता है. (२)
EN English Translation
Aditya is strong because of Som and Earth is huge because of Som. For this reason, it lives near Som Nakshatras. (2)
पुनः॒पत्नी॑म॒ग्निर॑दा॒दायु॑षा स॒ह वर्च॑सा । दी॒र्घायु॑रस्या॒ यः पति॒र्जीवा॑तिश॒रदः॑ श॒तम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि देव ने हमें आयु और तेज के साथसाथ पत्नी प्रदान की है. इस का पति दीर्घजीवी हो और सौ वर्ष की आयु प्राप्त करे. (२)
EN English Translation
Agni Dev has given us a wife along with age and speed. Her husband should be long-lived and attain the age of 100 years. (2)
सोमं॑ मन्यतेपपि॒वान्यत्सं॑पिं॒षन्त्योष॑धिम् । सोमं॒ यं ब्र॒ह्माणो॑ वि॒दुर्न तस्या॑श्नाति॒पार्थि॑वः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो सोम रूप ओषधि को पीस कर पीते हैं, वे अग्नि को सोमपान करने वाला समझते हैं. ज्ञानी जन जिस सोम को जानते हैं, उस का भक्षण साधारण प्राणी नहीं कर सकते. (३)
EN English Translation
Those who grind and drink the soma form medicine, they consider agni to be the one who drinks soma. Ordinary beings cannot eat the som that the knowledgeable people know. (3)
सोम॑स्य जा॒याप्र॑थ॒मं ग॑न्ध॒र्वस्तेऽप॑रः॒ पतिः॑ । तृ॒तीयो॑ अ॒ग्निष्टे॒ पति॑स्तु॒रीय॑स्तेमनुष्य॒जाः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वधू! तू पहले सोम की पत्नी हुई. इस के बाद तू गंधर्वो की पत्नी बनी. इस के बाद तेरे तीसरे पति अग्नि देव बने. मैं मनुष्य तेरा चौथा पति हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
O bride! You were Som's wife first. After this, you became the wife of Gandharva. After this, your third husband became Agni Dev. I man is your fourth husband. (3)
यत्त्वा॑ सोमप्र॒पिब॑न्ति॒ तत॒ आ प्या॑यसे॒ पुनः॑ । वा॒युः सोम॑स्य रक्षि॒ता समा॑नां॒ मास॒आकृ॑तिः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! पुरुष तुम्हें पीते हैं, फिर भी तुम वृद्धि को प्राप्त होते रहते हो. अनेक संवत्सरों रूप से वायु इस सोम की रक्षा करता है. (४)
EN English Translation
O Mon! Men drink you, yet you continue to grow. Air protects this Som in many Samvatsars. (4)
सोमो॑ददद्गन्ध॒र्वाय॑ गन्ध॒र्वो द॑दद॒ग्नये॑ । र॒यिं च॑पु॒त्रांश्चा॑दाद॒ग्निर्मह्य॒मथो॑ इ॒माम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वधू! सोम ने तुझे गंधर्व को दिया. गंधर्व ने तुझे अग्नि को प्रदान किया तथा अग्नि ने तुझे मेरे लिए दिया है. उन्होंने मुझे धन और पुत्रों से भी संपन्न किया. (४)
EN English Translation
O bride! Som gave you to Gandharva. Gandharva gave you agni and agni has given you for me. He also endowed me with wealth and sons. (4)
आ॒च्छद्वि॑धानैर्गुपि॒तो बार्ह॑तैः सोमः रक्षि॒तः । ग्राव्णा॒मिच्छृ॒ण्वन्ति॑ष्ठसि॒न ते॑ अश्नाति॒ पार्थि॑वः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! बृहती छंदों वाले कर्मो से तथा आच्छद विधानों से तुम्हारी रक्षा होती है. सोम कूटने के पाषाण से जो शब्द होता है, उस से तुम्हारी स्थिति है. पार्थिव जीव तुम्हारा सेवन नहीं कर सके. (५)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are protected from the deeds of great verses and from the laws of the shadow. You have a position with the word that comes from the stone of soma kootne. The terrestrial creatures could not consume you. (5)
आवा॑मगन्त्सुम॒तिर्वा॑जिनीवसू॒ न्यश्विना हृ॒त्सु कामा॑ अरंसत । अभू॑तं गो॒पामि॑थु॒ना शु॑भस्पती प्रि॒या अ॑र्य॒म्णो दुर्याँ॑ अशीमहि ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषाकालीन ऐश्वर्य वाले अश्विनकुमारो! तुम्हारे हृदय में जो अभीष्ट है, वह तुम्हारी कृपामयी बुद्धि के द्वारा हमें प्राप्त हो. तुम हमारे प्रिय तथा रक्षक बनो. हम सूर्य देव की कृपा से घरों में सुख का भोग करने वाले हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Ashwinkumaro, the o omensy of usha! May what is desired in your heart be achieved by your gracious intellect. Be our beloved and protector. We are going to enjoy happiness in homes by the grace of Sun God. (5)
चित्ति॑राउप॒बर्ह॑णं॒ चक्षु॑रा अ॒भ्यञ्ज॑नम् । द्यौर्भूमिः॒ कोश॒ आसी॒द्यदया॑त्सू॒र्यापति॑म् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब सूर्या अपने पति के पास गई, तब ज्ञान उस का तकिया तथा चक्षु ही अंजन बने. आकाश और पृथ्वी उस के कोष थे. (६)
EN English Translation
When Surya went to her husband, knowledge became Anjan, her pillow and eyes became Anjan. The sky and the earth were his treasures. (6)
सा म॑न्दसा॒नामन॑सा शि॒वेन॑ र॒यिं धे॑हि॒ सर्व॑वीरं वच॒स्यम् । सु॒गं ती॒र्थं सु॑प्रपा॒णंशु॑भस्पती स्था॒णुं प॑थि॒ष्ठामप॑ दुर्म॒तिं ह॑तम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तुम कल्याणकारी मन से वीरों से युक्त धन का पोषण करो. हे अश्विनी कुमारो! तुम इस तीर्थ को सुफल करते हुए मार्ग में प्राप्त होने वाली दुर्गति आदि को दूर करो. (६)
EN English Translation
Nurture the wealth containing heroes with a welfare mind. O Ashwini Kumaro! You should remove the evil etc. received on the way by refining this pilgrimage. (6)
रैभ्या॑सीदनु॒देयी॑ नाराशं॒सी न्योच॑नी । सू॒र्याया॑ भ॒द्रमिद्वासो॒ गाथ॑यति॒परि॑ष्कृता ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वेदमंत्रों के साथ उस की पिता के घर से विदाई हुई. मंत्रों से ही पति गृह में उस का स्वागत हुआ. मंत्रों के द्वारा पवित्र बना पति के घर का वस्त्र उस वधू का कल्याण करता है. (७)
EN English Translation
He was farewell from his father's house with Vedamantras. She was welcomed in the husband's house only with mantras. The cloth of the husband's house made pure by mantras welfares the bride. (7)
या ओष॑धयो॒ यान॒द्यो॒ यानि॒ क्षेत्रा॑णि॒ या वना॑ । तास्त्वा॑ वधु प्र॒जाव॑तीं॒ पत्ये॑रक्षन्तु र॒क्षसः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वधू! ओषधि, नदी, श्वैत और वन तुझे संतान वाली बनाएं तथा दुष्टों से तेरे पति की रक्षा करें. (७)
EN English Translation
O bride! Make the medicine, the river, the white and the forest with children and protect your husband from the wicked. (7)
स्तोमा॑आसन्प्रति॒धयः॑ कु॒रीरं॒ छन्द॑ ओप॒शः । सू॒र्याया॑ अ॒श्विना॑व॒राग्निरा॑सीत्पुरोग॒वः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पति के घर के यज्ञ वधू के लिए भोग तथा वेदमंत्र ही उस के आभूषण हुए थे. कुरीर नाम का छंद उस के शरीर का आभूषण बना. दोनों अश्विनीकुमार सूर्य के घर में और अग्नि देव उस के आगे चल रहे थे. (८)
EN English Translation
Bhog and Vedamantra were her ornaments for the sacrificial bride of her husband's house. The verse named Kurir became the ornament of his body. Both Ashwinikumar was walking in Surya's house and Agni Dev was walking in front of him. (8)
एमंपन्था॑मरुक्षाम सु॒गं स्व॑स्ति॒वाह॑नम् । यस्मि॑न्वी॒रो न रिष्य॑त्य॒न्येषां॑वि॒न्दते॒ वसु॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम उस मार्ग पर चलते हैं, जिस पर वाहन सुखपूर्वक चल सकते हैं. इस मार्ग पर वीरों की हानि नहीं होती तथा अन्य जनों का धन प्राप्त होता है. (८)
EN English Translation
We walk on the route on which vehicles can ply happily. On this path, there is no loss of heroes and money of other people is obtained. (8)
सोमो॑वधू॒युर॑भवद॒श्विना॑स्तामु॒भा व॒रा । सू॒र्यां यत्पत्ये॒ शंस॑न्तीं॒ मन॑सासवि॒ताद॑दात् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम वधू की इच्छा करने वाले हुए. दोनों अश्विनीकुमार उन के साक्षी थे. तब सविता ने मन से स्तुति करने वाली सूर्या को पति के हाथ में दान के रूप में दिया. (९)
EN English Translation
Som was the one who wanted the bride. Both Ashwinikumars were witnesses to them. Then Savita gave surya, who praised her heart, as a donation in the hands of her husband. (9)
इ॒दं सु मे॑ नरःशृणुत॒ यया॒शिषा॒ दंप॑ती वा॒मम॑श्नु॒तः । ये ग॑न्ध॒र्वा अ॑प्स॒रस॑श्च दे॒वीरे॒षुवा॑नस्प॒त्येषु॒ येऽधि॑ त॒स्थुः । स्यो॒नास्ते॑ अ॒स्यै व॒ध्वै॑ भवन्तु॒ माहिं॑सिषुर्वह॒तुमु॒ह्यमा॑नम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! मेरी बात सुनो. वनस्पतियों में गंधर्व तथा अप्सराएं हैं. वे इसे सुख देने वाले हैं. इस उपहार रूप धन को नष्ट न करें. इस आशीर्वादात्मक वाणी से ये दोनों उत्तम पदार्थों का उपभोग करें. (९)
EN English Translation
O men! Listen to me. Among the flora are Gandharva and Nymphs. They are going to give it pleasure. Do not destroy this gift money. Consume these two best things with this blessing speech. (9)
मनो॑ अस्या॒ अन॑आसी॒द्द्यौरा॑सीदु॒त च्छ॒दिः । शु॒क्राव॑न॒ड्वाहा॑वास्तां॒ यदया॑त्सू॒र्या पति॑म् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब सूर्या अपने पति को प्राप्त हुई तब मन रथ बना तथा द्युलोक उस की छत हुआ. उस रथ में दो बलवान बैल जुड़े हुए थे. (१०)
EN English Translation
When Surya received her husband, the mind became a chariot and Dyulok became its roof. Two strong bulls were attached to that chariot. (10)
येव॒ध्वश्च॒न्द्रं व॑ह॒तुं यक्ष्मा॑ यन्ति॒ जनाँ॒ अनु॑ । पुन॒स्तान्य॒ज्ञिया॑दे॒वा न॑यन्तु॒ यत॒ आग॑ताः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
चंद्रमा के समान प्रसन्नता देने वाले उपहार की ओर जो साधन आते हैं, यज्ञीय देवता उन्हें वहीं पहुंचा दें, जहां से वे आते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
The sacrificial deities should deliver the means that come towards the gift of happiness like the moon, where they come from. (10)
ऋक्सा॒माभ्या॑म॒भिहि॑तौ॒ गावौ॑ ते साम॒नावै॑ताम् । श्रोत्रे॑ ते च॒क्रे आ॑स्तांदि॒वि पन्था॑श्चराच॒रः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋग्वेद और सामवेद से अभिमंत्रित तेरे दोनों बल शक्तिपूर्वक चलते हैं. दोनों कान तेरे रथ के दो पहिए हैं. द्युलोक में तेरा चर और अचर मार्ग है. (११)
EN English Translation
Both your forces, invoked by rigveda and samaveda, move powerfully. Both ears are the two wheels of your chariot. In The World, you have a variable and a constant path. (11)
मावि॑दन्परिप॒न्थिनो॒ य आ॒सीद॑न्ति॒ दम्प॑ती । सु॒गेन॑ दु॒र्गमती॑ता॒मप॑द्रा॒न्त्वरा॑तयः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो दस्यु दंपती के समीप आना चाहते हैं, वे इन्हें प्राप्त न कर सकें. हम इस दुर्गम मार्ग को सुगमता से पार करें तथा हमारे शत्रु दुर्गति में पड़ें. (११)
EN English Translation
Those who want to come close to the bandit couple could not get them. We should cross this inaccessible path easily and our enemies fall into misery. (11)
शुची॑ ते च॒क्रेया॒त्या व्या॒नो अ॑क्ष॒ आह॑तः । अनो॑ मन॒स्मयं॑ सू॒र्यारो॑हत्प्रय॒ती पति॑म् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तुझे ले जाने वाले रथ के दोनों पहिए शुद्ध हैं. उस रथ के अक्ष के स्थान पर व्यान नामक वायु रखी है. अपने पति के पास जाने वाली सूर्या इस मनोमय रथ पर चढ़ती है. (१२)
EN English Translation
Both the wheels of the chariot carrying you are pure. In place of the axis of that chariot, air called Vyan is placed. Surya, who goes to her husband, climbs on this enchanting chariot. (12)
सं का॑शयामिवह॒तुं ब्रह्म॑णा गृ॒हैरघो॑रेण॒ चक्षु॑षा मि॒त्रिये॑ण । प॒र्याण॑द्धंवि॒श्वरू॑पं॒ यदस्ति॑ स्यो॒नं पति॑भ्यः सवि॒ता तत्कृ॑णोतु ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं मंत्रों और नक्षत्रों के द्वारा स्त्रीधन को दीप्त करता हूं. इस में जो विभिन्न प्रकार के पदार्थ हैं, सविता देव उन पदार्थो को प्राप्त करने वालों को सुख देने वाला बनाएं. (१२)
EN English Translation
I light up feminine wealth through mantras and constellations. The different types of substances in it, Savita Dev should make those who get those substances happy. (12)
सू॒र्याया॑वह॒तुः प्रागा॑त्सवि॒ता यम॒वासृ॑जत् । म॒घासु॑ ह॒न्यन्ते॒ गावः॒ फल्गु॑नीषु॒व्युह्यते ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सविता देव ने जिस को भेजा था, सूर्या का वह उपहार आगे गया है. मघा नक्षत्र में गाएं भेजी जाती हैं और फाल्गुनी नक्षत्रों में विवाह होता है. (१३)
EN English Translation
The gifts, which Savita Dev had sent to Surya, has gone ahead. Cows are sent in Magha Nakshatra and marriage takes place in Falguni Nakshatra. (13)
शि॒वानारी॒यमस्त॒माग॑न्नि॒मं धा॒ता लो॒कम॒स्यै दि॑देश । ताम॑र्य॒मा भगो॑ अ॒श्विनो॒भाप्र॒जाप॑तिः प्र॒जया॑ वर्धयन्तु ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस स्त्री के लिए धाता ने घर के रूप में लोक का निर्माण किया है. यह कल्याणी इसे प्राप्त हो गई है. इस वधू को अश्विनीकुमार, अर्यमा, भग और प्रजापति संतान के द्वारा बढ़ाएं. (१३)
EN English Translation
For this woman, Dhata has created folk as a home. This Kalyani has received it. Raise this bride through Ashwinikumar, Aryama, Bhaga and Prajapati children. (13)
यद॑श्विनापृ॒च्छमा॑ना॒वया॑तं त्रिच॒क्रेण॑ वह॒तुं सू॒र्यायाः॑ । क्वैकं॑ च॒क्रंवा॑मासी॒त्क्व दे॒ष्ट्राय॑ तस्थथुः ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! जब तुम सूर्या का उपहार ले कर चले, उस समय तुम देवों को पूछते हुए तीन पहियों वाले रथ के सहारे चले. तुम्हारा वह कर्म सब देवों को रुचिकर प्रतीत हुआ. पुषा ने तुम्हें इस प्रकार स्वीकार किया जैसे पुत्र पिता को स्वीकार करता है. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Ashwini Kumar! When you carry surya's gift, you walk on a three-wheeled chariot asking the gods. That deed of yours seemed interesting to all the gods. Pusha accepted you just as the son accepts the Father. (14)
आ॑त्म॒न्वत्यु॒र्वरा॒ नारी॒यमाग॒न्तस्यां॑ नरो वपत॒ बीज॑मस्याम् । सा वः॑प्र॒जां ज॑नयद्व॒क्षणा॑भ्यो॒ बिभ्र॑ती दु॒ग्धमृ॑ष॒भस्य॒ रेतः॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पुरुष! तू इस उर्वरा नारी में बीजों का वपन कर. वृषभ के समान तेरे वीर्य को और अपने दूध को धारण करने वाले यह तेरे निमित्त संतान उत्पन्न करे. (१४)
EN English Translation
O man! You plant seeds in this fertile woman. May this one who holds your semen and his milk like Taurus produce children for you. (14)
यदया॑तं शुभस्पतीवरे॒यं सू॒र्यामुप॑ । विश्वे॑ दे॒वा अनु॒ तद्वा॑मजानन्पु॒त्रः पि॒तर॑मवृणीतपू॒षा ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्या! तेरे रथ के दोनों चक्रों को ज्ञानीजन ऋतु के अनुसार जानते हैं. तेरे रथ का जो एक चक्र गुप्त है, उसे विशेष ज्ञानी ही जानते हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Sun! The wise know both the chakras of your chariot according to the season. Only those who know the one cycle of your chariot that is secret know it. (15)
प्रति॑ तिष्ठवि॒राड॑सि॒ विष्णु॑रिवे॒ह स॑रस्वति । सिनी॑वालि॒ प्र जा॑यतां॒ भग॑स्यसुम॒ताव॑सत् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सरस्वती! तू विष्णु के समान विराट् है. इसलिए तू प्रतिष्ठित हो. हे सिनीवाली! तू भग देवता की सुंदर बुद्धि में रहती हुई संतान उत्पन्न कर. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Saraswati! You are as vast as Vishnu. That's why you are distinguished. O Siniwali! You will produce children living in the beautiful intellect of God. (15)
