उदु॒ त्ये मधु॑मत्तमा॒ गिर॒ स्तोमा॑स ईरते । स॑त्रा॒जितो॑ धन॒सा अक्षि॑तोतयो वाज॒यन्तो॒ रथा॑ इव ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो स्तुतियां प्रकट हो रही हैं, वे गाए जाने वाले मंत्रों से साध्व और न गाए जाने वाले मंत्रों से असाध्य हैं. ये स्तुतियां अन्न प्रदान करती हैं और रक्षा करने में समर्थ हैं. जैसे रथ रथारोही के अभिप्राय के अनुसार गमन करता है, उसी प्रकार ये स्तुतियां इंद्र को प्रसन्न करने के लिए गमन करती हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The praises that are appearing are intractable with the mantras sung, the sadhvis and the mantras that are not sung. These praises provide food and are capable of protecting. Just as the chariot moves according to the intention of the charioteer, so these eulogies go to please Indra. (1)
कण्वा॑ इव॒ भृग॑वः॒ सूर्या॑ इव॒ विश्व॒मिद्धी॒तमा॑नशुः । इन्द्रं॒ स्तोमे॑भिर्म॒हय॑न्त आ॒यवः॑ प्रि॒यमे॑धासो अस्वरन् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मनुष्य स्तोत्रों के द्वारा इंद्र को उसी प्रकार प्राप्त होते हैं, जिस प्रकार कण्व गोत्रीय ऋषि तीनों लोकों के स्वामी एवं फल की कामना करने वालों के द्वारा पूजित इंद्र को स्तुतियों के कारण प्राप्त हुए थे. जिस प्रकार सूर्य अपने नियंता इंद्र को प्राप्त होते हैं, उसी प्रकार भृगवंश के ऋषि इंद्र को प्राप्त होते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Human beings receive Indra through stotras in the same way as the Kanva gotra rishi, the swami of the three worlds and worshiped by those who wish for the fruit, indra received due to praises. Just as the Sun attains its controller Indra, so does the sage Indra of the Bhriga dynasty. (2)
