समि॑द्धो अ॒द्य मनु॑षो दुरो॒णे दे॒वो दे॒वान्य॑जसि जातवेदः । आ च॒ वह॑ मित्रमहश्चिकि॒त्वान्त्वं दू॒तः क॒विर॑सि॒ प्रचे॑ताः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उत्पन्न हुओं को जानने वाले अग्नि! तुम आज मनुष्य के यज्ञ में प्रज्वलित हुए हो और देवों का यजन कर रहे हो. लुम मित्रों की पूजा करने वाले एवं ज्ञाता हो. तुम देवों का आह्वान करो. तुम देवों के दूत, ज्ञानवान और क्रांतदर्शी हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni that knows the creators! You have been ignited in the sacrifice of man today and are worshiping the gods. Lum is the worshiper and knower of friends. You invoke the gods. You are the messengers of the gods, the wise and the visionary. (1)
तनू॑नपात्प॒थ ऋ॒तस्य॒ याना॒न्मध्वा॑ सम॒ञ्जन्त्स्व॑दया सुजिह्व । मन्मा॑नि धी॒भिरु॒त य॒ज्ञमृ॒न्धन्दे॑व॒त्रा च॑ कृणुह्यध्व॒रं नः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शरीररक्षक एवं उत्तम जिह्वा वाले अग्नि! तुम सत्यलोक को प्राप्त कराने वाले मार्गो को मधुर बना कर उन का आस्वादन करो एवं मेरे यज्ञ को बढ़ाते हुए इसे देवों को प्राप्त कराओ. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni with a body protector and a good tongue! You make the paths that attain Satyalok sweet and taste them and increase my yajna and get it to the gods. (2)
आ॒जुह्वा॑न॒ ईड्यो॒ वन्द्य॒श्चा या॑ह्यग्ने॒ वसु॑भिः स॒जोषाः॑ । त्वं दे॒वाना॑मसि यह्व॒ होता॒ स ए॑नान्यक्षीषि॒तो यजी॑यान् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम पूज्य व वंदना करने योग्य हो. तुम में भलीभांति हवन किया जाता है. हमारे इस यज्ञ कर्म में तुम वसुओं के सहित आओ. तुम देवों के होता हो. तुम हमारी प्रेरणा से देवों की पूजा करो. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are worthy of worship and worship. Havan is performed well in you. In this yajna karma of ours, you come with the Vasus. You belong to gods. You worship the gods with our inspiration. (3)
प्रा॒चीनं॑ ब॒र्हिः प्र॒दिशा॑ पृथि॒व्या वस्तो॑र॒स्या वृ॑ज्यते॒ अग्रे॒ अह्ना॑म् । व्यु॑ प्रथते वित॒रं वरी॑यो दे॒वेभ्यो॒ अदि॑तये स्यो॒नम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वेदी रूपी भूमि को ढकने वाले आहवनीय अग्ने पूर्वाह्न में विस्तृत होते हैं. अग्नि अन्य ज्योतियों की अपेक्षा श्रेष्ठ, धनवान तथा पृथ्वी को सुख देने वाले हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The callable agnis covering the altar-like land are wide in the forenoon. Agni is superior, richer and gives happiness to the earth than other lights. (4)
व्यच॑स्वतीरुर्वि॒या वि श्र॑यन्तां॒ पति॑भ्यो॒ न जन॑यः॒ शुम्भ॑मानाः । देवी॑र्द्वारो बृह॒तीर्वि॑श्वमिन्वा दे॒वेभ्यो॑ भवत सुप्राय॒णाः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि की ज्वाला हवि को वहन करने वाली और व्याधियों को रोकने वाली है. इस कारण वह द्वार के समान है. हे अग्नि की प्रकाशमान ज्वाला! जिस प्रकार स्त्रियां पतियों का आदर करती है, उसी प्रकार तुम देवों को सुख देने वाली बनो. तुम हवि को व्याप्त करने वाली हो. (५)
EN English Translation
The flame of agni is going to carry havi and prevent diseases. For this reason, it is like a door. O shining flame of agni! Just as women respect husbands, so be the one who gives happiness to the gods. You are going to pervade Havi. (5)
आ सु॒ष्वय॑न्ती यज॒ते उ॒पाके॑ उ॒षासा॒नक्ता॑ सदतां॒ नि योनौ॑ । दि॒व्ये योष॑णे बृह॒ती सु॑रु॒क्मे अधि॒ श्रियं॑ शुक्र॒पिशं॒ दधा॑ने ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि की दीप्ति उषा और यज्ञ की दीप्ति से युक्त है. वह यज्ञों का संपादन करती एवं देवों से संयुक्त होती है. वह दिव्य, परस्पर मिलने वाली एवं उत्तम दीप्ति यजमान के हेतु अग्नि की स्थापना करे. (६)
EN English Translation
The radiance of agni is filled with the brightness of Usha and Yagya. She edits the yajnas and is combined with the devas. He should establish agni for the divine, mutually met and best luminous host. (6)
दैव्या॒ होता॑रा प्रथ॒मा सु॒वाचा॒ मिमा॑ना य॒ज्ञं मनु॑षो॒ यज॑ध्यै । प्र॑चो॒दय॑न्ता वि॒दथे॑षु का॒रू प्रा॒चीनं॒ ज्योतिः॑ प्र॒दिशा॑ दि॒शन्ता॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वायु और अग्नि दिव्य हैं. मनुष्य होताओं में प्रमुख हैं. वे सुंदर वाणी वाले, यज्ञ के प्रेरक एवं यज्ञ के निर्माता हैं. वायु होताओं पर अनुग्रह करते हैं और आहवनीय अग्नि की सेवा का आदेश देते हैं. अतएव यज्ञ पर उपकार करने वाले वायु और अग्नि देव मुझ पर भी उपकार करें. (७)
EN English Translation
Air and agni are divine. Humans are prominent among the hotas. He is a beautiful speech, an inspiration of yajna and a creator of yajna. They grace the air and order the service of the callous agni. Therefore, the wind and agni gods who do good to the yajna should also do me a favor. (7)
आ नो॑ य॒ज्ञं भार॑ती॒ तूय॑मे॒त्विडा॑ मनु॒ष्वदि॒ह चे॒तय॑न्ती । ति॒स्रो दे॒वीर्ब॒र्हिरेदं स्यो॒नं सर॑स्वतीः॒ स्वप॑सः सदन्ताम् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सब प्राणियों को जल से संतुष्ट करने वाले अग्नि देव की कांति पृथ्वी का और सरस्वती का आह्वान करने पर सचेत हो. सुंदर कर्म करने वाली ये तीन देवियां कुश पर विराजमान हों. (८)
EN English Translation
Be alert when invoking the earth and Saraswati, the radiance of the agni god who satisfies all beings with water. These three goddesses who do beautiful deeds should sit on Kush. (8)
य इ॒मे द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी जनि॑त्री रू॒पैरपिं॑श॒द्भुव॑नानि॒ विश्वा॑ । तम॒द्य हो॑तरिषि॒तो यजी॑यान्दे॒वं त्वष्टा॑रमि॒ह य॑क्षि वि॒द्वान् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जो त्वष्टा देवता द्यावा पृथ्वी तथा समस्त प्राणियों को अनेक रूप प्रदान करता है, हमारी प्रेरणा से आज उस का यजन करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O agni! The tvashta deity who gives many forms to the earth and all beings, worship him today with our inspiration. (9)
उ॒पाव॑सृज॒ त्मन्या॑ सम॒ञ्जन्दे॒वानां॒ पाथ॑ ऋतु॒था ह॒वींषि॑ । वन॒स्पतिः॑ शमि॒ता दे॒वो अ॒ग्निः स्वद॑न्तु ह॒व्यं मधु॑ना घृ॒तेन॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि देव! यह यज्ञ रूप अन्न देवों का भाग है. इसे और हवियों को प्रत्येक ऋतु में देवों तक पहुंचाओ. वनस्पति, सविता देव और अग्नि इस हव्य को मधु और घृत से युक्त कर के स्वादिष्ट बनाएं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O God of Agni! This yajna form is part of the food gods. Convey it and the hives to the gods in every season. Make this havya delicious by mixing it with honey and ghee. (10)
स॒द्यो जा॒तो व्य॑मिमीत य॒ज्ञम॒ग्निर्दे॒वाना॑मभवत्पुरो॒गाः । अ॒स्य होतुः॑ प्र॒शिष्यृ॒तस्य॑ वा॒चि स्वाहा॑कृतं ह॒विर॑दन्तु दे॒वाः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि देव प्रकट होते ही यज्ञ का आरंभ करते हैं और प्रकट होते ही समस्त देवों में अग्रगण्य बन जाते हैं. देवों का आह्वान करने वाले इस अग्नि के मुख में देव गण स्वाहा शब्द से युक्त हवि ग्रहण करें. (११)
EN English Translation
As soon as the agni god appears, he starts the yajna and as soon as he appears, he becomes the leading among all the gods. In the mouth of this agni that invokes the gods, take the word Dev Gana Swaha. (11)
