नैतां ते॑ दे॒वा अ॑ददु॒स्तुभ्यं॑ नृपते॒ अत्त॑वे । मा ब्रा॑ह्म॒णस्य॑ राजन्य॒ गां जि॑घत्सो अना॒द्याम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे राजन्! देवों ने यह गाय तुम को भक्षण करने के लिए नहीं दी है. ब्राह्मण की गाय अखाद्य है. इसे खाने की इच्छा मत कर. (१)
EN English Translation
O king! The gods have not given this cow to you to eat. A Brahmin cow is inedible. Don't want to eat it. (1)
अ॒क्षद्रु॑ग्धो राज॒न्यः॑ पा॒प आ॑त्मपराजि॒तः । स ब्रा॑ह्म॒णस्य॒ गाम॑द्याद॒द्य जी॒वानि॒ मा श्वः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्रियों को वश में न करने वाला एवं आत्मपराजित जो राजा ब्राह्मण की गाय का भक्षण करता है, वह पापी राजा जीवित नहीं रहता. (२)
EN English Translation
The king who does not control the senses and the self-respecting king who eats the cow of the Brahmin, that sinful king does not survive. (2)
आवि॑ष्टिता॒घवि॑षा पृदा॒कूरि॑व॒ चर्म॑णा । सा ब्रा॑ह्म॒णस्य॑ राजन्य तृ॒ष्टैषा गौर॑ना॒द्या ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ब्राह्मण की चर्म से ढकी हुई गाय केंचुली से ढकी हुई व्यानी सर्पिणी के समान है. हे राजन्! यह भक्षण करने योग्य नहीं है. (३)
EN English Translation
A brahmin's skin-covered cow is like a vini serpent covered with earthworms. O king! It is not edible. (3)
निर्वै क्ष॒त्रं नय॑ति हन्ति॒ वर्चो॒ऽग्निरि॒वार॑ब्धो॒ वि दु॑नोति॒ सर्व॑म् । यो ब्रा॑ह्म॒णं मन्य॑ते॒ अन्न॑मे॒व स वि॒षस्य॑ पिबति तैमा॒तस्य॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो राजा ब्राह्मण के पदार्थो का भक्षण करता है, वह विष पीता है और अपना क्षात्र तेज गवां देता है. जिस प्रकार क्रोध में भरे हुए अग्नि देव सब कुछ नष्ट कर देते हैं, उसी प्रकार ब्राह्मण के पदार्थों को खाने योग्य समझने वाला राजा नष्ट हो जाता है. (४)
EN English Translation
The king who eats the substances of the Brahmin drinks poison and loses his kshatra tej. Just as the agni god filled with anger destroys everything, so the king who considers the brahmin's substances edible is destroyed. (4)
य ए॑नं॒ हन्ति॑ मृ॒दुं मन्य॑मानो देवपी॒युर्धन॑कामो॒ न चि॒त्तात् । सं तस्येन्द्रो॒ हृद॑ये॒ऽग्निमि॑न्ध उ॒भे ए॑नं द्विष्टो॒ नभ॑सी॒ चर॑न्तम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ब्राह्मण को मृदु समझने वाला जो अज्ञानी उसे नष्ट करना चाहता है, वह देव हिंसक है. इंद्र उस पापी के हृदय में अग्नि प्रज्वलित कर देते हैं और आकाश तथा पृथ्वी दोनों उस के प्रति वैर भाव रखते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
The ignorant who thinks the Brahmin is soft, wants to destroy him, that God is violent. Indra ignites agni in the heart of that sinner and both the sky and the earth have an animosity towards him. (5)
न ब्रा॑ह्म॒णो हिं॑सित॒व्यो॒ऽग्निः प्रि॒यत॑नोरिव । सोमो॒ ह्य॑स्य दाया॒द इन्द्रो॑ अस्याभिशस्ति॒पाः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार अपने शरीर को कोई नष्ट नहीं करना चाहता, उसी प्रकार अग्नि के समान तेजस्वी ब्राह्मण का नाश भी नहीं करना चाहिए. सोम ब्राह्मण का संबंधी हैं और इंद्र ब्राह्मण के शाप को पूर्ण करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Just as no one wants to destroy one's body, one should not destroy a bright Brahmin like agni. Som is a Brahmin and Indra fulfills the curse of Brahmin. (6)
श॒तापा॑ष्ठां॒ नि गि॑रति॒ तां न श॑क्नोति निः॒खिद॑न् । अन्नं॒ यो ब्र॒ह्मणां॑ म॒ल्वः स्वा॒द्वद्मीति॒ मन्य॑ते ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो पापी ब्राह्मण के अन्न को स्वादिष्ट समझ कर भक्षण करता है, वह पापी मानव सैकड़ों विपत्तियों को निगलता है. (७)
EN English Translation
The sinful person who eats the food of the sinful Brahmin as delicious, that sinful person swallows hundreds of plagues. (7)
जि॒ह्वा ज्या भव॑ति॒ कुल्म॑लं॒ वाङ्ना॑डी॒का दन्ता॒स्तप॑सा॒भिदि॑ग्धाः । तेभि॑र्ब्र॒ह्मा वि॑ध्यति देवपी॒यून् हृ॑द्ब॒लैर्धनु॑र्भिर्दे॒वजू॑तैः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ब्राह्मण की जीभ धनुष की प्रत्यंचा, वाणी धनुष की लकड़ी और तपस्या के कारण पवित्र दांत तीर हैं. ब्राह्मण देवताओं से प्रेरित इन्हीं धनुष बाणों से देव हिसंकों को बींधता है. (८)
EN English Translation
The tongue of the Brahmin is the pratyancha of the bow, the wood of the speech bow and the sacred tooth is the arrow due to penance. Inspired by Brahmin gods, these bows and arrows pierce the gods. (8)
ती॒क्ष्णेष॑वो ब्राह्म॒णा हे॑ति॒मन्तो॒ यामस्य॑न्ति शर॒व्यां॒ न सा मृषा॑ । अ॑नु॒हाय॒ तप॑सा म॒न्युना॑ चो॒त दु॒रादव॑ भिन्दन्त्येनम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ब्राह्मण अपने तप और क्रोध रूप बाणों को जिस की ओर फेंकता है, वे बेकार नहीं जाते. वे बाण दूर से ही शन्रु को वेध देते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
The Brahmin throws his arrows towards whom his penance and anger, they do not go waste. Those arrows pierce The Sharu from a distance. (9)
ये स॒हस्र॒मरा॑ज॒न्नास॑न्दशश॒ता उ॒त । ते ब्रा॑ह्म॒णस्य॒ गां ज॒ग्ध्वा वै॑तह॒व्याः परा॑भवन् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वीरहव्य के वशंज हजारों राजा पृथ्वी पर राज्य करते थे. ब्राह्मण की गाय का अपहरण करने के कारण वे पराभव को प्राप्त हुए. (१०)
EN English Translation
Thousands of kings of Veerahavya ruled on earth. Due to the abduction of the Brahmin's cow, he got defeat. (10)
गौरे॒व तान्ह॒न्यमा॑ना वैतह॒व्याँ अवा॑तिरत् । ये केस॑रप्राबन्धायाश्चर॒माजा॒मपे॑चिरन् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वीरहव्य के वशंज जिन राजाओं ने केशर प्राबंधा नाम की चरम अजा का मांस पकाया था, उन राजाओं की मार खाते हुए गाय ने ही उन्हें छिन्नभिन्न कर दिया था. (११)
EN English Translation
The cow had shattered the kings who had cooked the meat of the extreme aja named Keshar Prabandha, who had cooked the meat of the extreme aja of Veerhavya. (11)
एक॑शतं॒ ता ज॒नता॒ या भूमि॒र्व्य॑धूनुत । प्र॒जां हिं॑सि॒त्वा ब्राह्म॑णीमसंभ॒व्यं परा॑भवन् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो सैकड़ों लोग अपने चलने से धरती को कंपित कर देते थे, वे ब्राह्मण की संतान की हिंसा करने के कारण ही पराजित हुए. (१२)
EN English Translation
Hundreds of people who used to shake the earth with their walk were defeated only because of the violence of the Brahmin's child. (12)
दे॑वपी॒युश्च॑रति॒ मर्त्ये॑षु गरगी॒र्णो भ॑व॒त्यस्थि॑भूयान् । यो ब्रा॑ह्म॒णं दे॒वब॑न्धुं हि॒नस्ति॒ न स पि॑तृ॒याण॒मप्ये॑ति लो॒कम् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो देवबंधु ब्राह्मण की हिंसा करता है, वह देवशस्त्र मनुष्यों के मध्य विष खाने वाले के समान चलता फिरता है और अस्थि मात्र रह जाता है. वह पितृयान द्वारा मिलने वाले लोक को प्राप्त नहीं करता. (१३)
EN English Translation
The one who commits violence against the Devbandhu Brahmin, that devastra moves like a poison eater among human beings and remains a bone. He does not get the folk found by Pitriyana. (13)
अ॒ग्निर्वै नः॑ पदवा॒यः सोमो॑ दाया॒द उ॑च्यते । ह॒न्ताभिश॒स्तेन्द्र॒स्तथा॒ तद्वे॒धसो॑ विदुः ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि हमें हमारे पदों तक पहुंचाता है और सोम हमारा दायाद कहा जाता है. इंद्र हमारी ओर से मारने वाले एवं घायल करने वाले हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
Agni leads us to our positions and Som is called our dayad. Indra is the one who kills and injures us. (14)
इषु॑रिव दि॒ग्धा नृ॑पते पृदा॒कूरि॑व गोपते । सा ब्रा॑ह्म॒णस्येषु॑र्घो॒रा तया॑ विध्यति॒ पीय॑तः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे राजन्! ब्राह्मण की वाणी रूपी बाण विष में बुझे बाण एवं सर्पिणी के समान भयानक होता है. जो पापी ब्राह्मण को कष्ट देते हैं, ब्राह्मण उन्हें उन्हीं के द्वारा नष्ट करता है. (१५)
EN English Translation
O king! The arrow of the brahmin's speech is as terrible as the arrow and serpentine extinguished in poison. Those who suffer sinful Brahmins, Brahmins destroy them through them. (15)
