विहृ॑दयं वैमन॒स्यं वदा॒मित्रे॑षु दुन्दुभे । वि॑द्वे॒षं कश्म॑शं भ॒यम॒मित्रे॑षु॒ नि द॑ध्म॒स्यव॑ एनान्दुन्दुभे जहि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दुदुंभि! तू शत्रुओं में वैमनस्य फैला एवं उन के हृदयों में एकदूसरे के प्रति द्वेष भर दे हम अपने शत्रुओं में द्वेष की भावना फैलाना चाहते हैं. तू उन का तिरस्कार करती हुई उन्हें समाप्त कर दे. (१)
EN English Translation
O milk! You spread disharmony among the enemies and fill their hearts with hatred towards each other, we want to spread a sense of malice among our enemies. You despise them and finish them. (1)
उ॒द्वेप॑माना॒ मन॑सा॒ चक्षु॑षा॒ हृद॑येन च । धाव॑न्तु॒ बिभ्य॑तो॒ऽमित्राः॑ प्रत्रा॒सेनाज्ये॑ हु॒ते ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे द्वारा होम किए गए घृत से हमारे शत्रु कंपित हों और मन, नेत्र तथा हृदय से भयभीत हो कर भाग जाएं. (२)
EN English Translation
Our enemies should be shaken by the hatred done by us and run away in fear of mind, eye and heart. (2)
वा॑नस्प॒त्यः संभृ॑त उ॒स्रिया॑भिर्वि॒श्वगो॑त्र्यः । प्र॑त्रा॒सम॒मित्रे॑भ्यो व॒दाज्ये॑ना॒भिघा॑रितः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वनस्पति से बनी हुई दुदुंभी! तू चमड़े से मढ़ी हुई है तथा मेघ घटा के समान घोर शब्द करती है. घी से चुपड़ी हुई तू शत्रुओं को भय उत्पन्न करने वाला शब्द कर. (३)
EN English Translation
O milkmine made of vegetation! You are covered with leather and say a very loud word like cloud ghata. You are silenced with ghee, make the words that create fear to the enemies. (3)
यथा॑ मृ॒गाः सं॑वि॒जन्त॑ आर॒ण्याः पुरु॑षा॒दधि॑ । ए॒वा त्वं दु॑न्दुभे॒ऽमित्रा॑न॒भि क्र॑न्द॒ प्र त्रा॑स॒याथो॑ चि॒त्तानि॑ मोहय ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दुदुंभि! वनचारी शिकारी पुरुष से जिस प्रकार वन के पशु भयभीत होते हैं, उसी प्रकार तू अपने गर्जन से शत्रुओं को भयभीत करती हुई, उन के चित्तों को मोहित बना. (४)
EN English Translation
O milk! Just as the animals of the forest are afraid of the forester hunter, in the same way, you have captivated the minds of the enemies, frightening the enemies with your roar. (4)
यथा॒ वृका॑दजा॒वयो॒ धाव॑न्ति ब॒हु बिभ्य॑तीः । ए॒वा त्वं दु॑न्दुभे॒ऽमित्रा॑न॒भि क्र॑न्द॒ प्र त्रा॑स॒याथो॑ चि॒त्तानि॑ मोहय ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार भेड़ें और बकरियां भेड़िए के कारण अधिक भयभीत हो कर भागती हैं, उसी प्रकार तू गड़गड़ाहट करती हुई शत्रुओं को भयभीत कर के उन का चित्त मोहित कर. (५)
EN English Translation
Just as sheep and goats run away more frightened by wolves, so you frighten the thundering enemies and fascinate them. (5)
यथा॑ श्ये॒नात्प॑त॒त्रिणः॑ संवि॒जन्ते॒ अह॑र्दिवि सिं॒हस्य॑ स्त॒नथो॒र्यथा॑ । ए॒वा त्वं दु॑न्दुभे॒ऽमित्रा॑न॒भि क्र॑न्द॒ प्र त्रा॑स॒याथो॑ चि॒त्तानि॑ मोहय ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दुदुंभि! जिस प्रकार बाज से सभी पक्षी और सिंह से सभी प्राणी भयभीत रहते हैं, उसी प्रकार तू शत्रुओं के प्रति गड़गड़ाहट कर के उन्हें भयभीत कर के उन के चित्तों को मोहित कर. (६)
EN English Translation
O milk! Just as all birds are afraid of the eagle and all beings are afraid of the lion, so you rumble towards the enemies and frighten them and fascinate their minds. (6)
परा॒मित्रा॑न्दुन्दु॒भिना॑ हरि॒णस्या॒जिने॑न च । सर्वे॑ दे॒वा अ॑तित्रस॒न्ये सं॑ग्रा॒मस्येश॑ते ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो संग्राम के देवता हैं, उन्होंने हिरण के चमड़े से मढ़ी हुई दुदुंभि बजा कर शत्रुओं को भयभीत कर के पराजित किया. (७)
EN English Translation
Those who are the gods of war, they defeated the enemies by beating the milk covered with deer leather. (7)
यैरिन्द्रः॑ प्र॒क्रीड॑ते पद्घो॒षैश्छा॒यया॑ स॒ह । तैर॒मित्रा॑स्त्रसन्तु नो॒ऽमी ये यन्त्य॑नीक॒शः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र जिन पदघोषों से खेलते हैं, उन से अधिक संख्या वाले शत्रु भयभीत हों. (८)
EN English Translation
Enemies with more numbers are afraid of the footsteps with which Indra plays. (8)
ज्या॑घो॒षा दु॑न्दु॒भयो॒ऽभि क्रो॑शन्तु॒ या दिशः॑ । सेनाः॒ परा॑जिता य॒तीर॒मित्रा॑णामनीक॒शः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शत्रुओं की पराजित सेनाएं जिस ओर भाग रही हैं, हमारे बाणों की डोरी और दुदुंभि का शब्द मिल कर उधर ही उन को भयभीत करें और हरा दें. (९)
EN English Translation
Wherever the defeated armies of the enemies are running, meet the strings of our arrows and the word of dudunbi and frighten them there and defeat them. (9)
आदि॑त्य॒ चक्षु॒रा द॑त्स्व॒ मरी॑च॒योऽनु॑ धावत । प॑त्स॒ङ्गिनी॒रा स॑जन्तु॒ विग॑ते बाहुवी॒र्ये॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सर्प! तुम शत्रुओं के नेत्रों की देखने की शक्ति छीन लो. हे सूर्य किरणो! तुम दीड़ते हुए शत्रुओं की पीठ पर पड़ो. भुजाओं की शक्ति क्षीण होने पर जब शत्रु भागने लगे तो उन का साथ मत दो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O serpent! Take away the power of seeing the eyes of enemies. O sun rays! You fall on the back of enemies. When the power of the arms is weak, when the enemies start running away, do not support them. (10)
यू॒यमु॒ग्रा म॑रुतः पृश्निमातर॒ इन्द्रे॑ण यु॒जा प्र मृ॑णीत॒ शत्रू॑न् । सोमो॒ राजा॒ वरु॑णो॒ राजा॑ महादे॒व उ॒त मृ॒त्युरिन्द्रः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम उग्र कर्म करने वाले हो. तुम इंद्र के साथ मिल कर शत्रुओं का मर्दन करो. सोम राजा, वरुण राजा, महादेव और मृत्युदेव इंद्र का सहयोग करें. (११)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! You are going to do furious deeds. You should kill enemies together with Indra. Support Som Raja, Varuna Raja, Mahadev and Mrityudev Indra. (11)
ए॒ता दे॑वसे॒नाः सूर्य॑केतवः॒ सचे॑तसः । अ॒मित्रा॑न्नो जयन्तु॒ स्वाहा॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ये देव सेनाएं समान चित्त वाली हैं और इन के झंडे में सूर्य विराजमान हैं. ये सेनाएं शञ्रुओं पर विजय प्राप्त करें. मेरी यह आहुति ग्रहण करने योग्य हो. (१२)
EN English Translation
These god armies are of similar mind and the sun is seated in their flag. May these armies conquer the enemies. This sacrifice of mine is acceptable. (12)
