उप॒मितां॑ प्रति॒मिता॒मथो॑ परि॒मिता॑मु॒त । शाला॑या वि॒श्ववा॑राया न॒द्धानि॒ वि चृ॑तामसि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उपमिता, प्रतिमिता और परिमिता जो शालाएं हैं, उन में से किसी भी शाला को खोलते हुए हम सब के लिए वरण करने योग्य शाला के द्वार खोलते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
By opening any of the schools that are upmita, pratimita and parimita, we open the doors of a selectable school for all of us. (1)
यत्ते॑ न॒द्धं वि॑श्ववारे॒ पाशो॑ ग्र॒न्थिश्च॒ यः कृ॒तः । बृह॒स्पति॑रिवा॒हं ब॒लं वा॒चा वि स्रं॑सयामि॒ तत् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वरण करने योग्य शाला! तुझ में जो बंधन है, जो पाश है और जो गाठे हैं, उन्हें बृहस्पति के समान शक्तिशाली मैं अपने मंत्र बल से खोलता हूं. (२)
EN English Translation
O selectable school! The bondage in you, the loop and the ones that are knots, I open them as powerful as Jupiter with my mantra force. (2)
आ य॑याम॒ सं ब॑बर्ह ग्र॒न्थींश्च॑कार ते दृ॒ढान् । परूं॑षि वि॒द्वाञ्छस्ते॒वेन्द्रे॑ण॒ वि चृ॑तामसि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला! बनाने वाले ने तुम्हें बहुत लंबा बनाया है. उस ने तुझ में मजबूत गांठे लगाई हैं उन कठोर गांठों को जानता हुआ मैं इंद्र की शक्ति से उन्हें खोलता हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
O school! The creator has made you very tall. He has put strong knots in you, knowing those hard knots, I open them with the power of Indra. (3)
वं॒शानां॑ ते॒ नह॑नानां प्राणा॒हस्य॒ तृण॑स्य च । प॒क्षाणां॑ विश्ववारे ते न॒द्धानि॒ वि चृ॑तामसि ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सब के द्वारा वरण करने योग्य शाला! तेरे बांसों के बंधनों की, लकड़ियों की, तिनकों की तथा वृक्षों की जो गांठे हैं, मैं उन्हें खोलता हूं. (४)
EN English Translation
O school that is acceptable to all! I open the knots of your bamboos, of wood, of straws and of trees. (4)
सं॑दं॒शानां॑ पल॒दानां॒ परि॑ष्वञ्जल्यस्य च । इ॒दं मान॑स्य॒ पत्न्या॑ न॒द्धानि॒ वि चृ॑तामसि ॥ (५)

मैं मान की पत्नी अर्थात् शाला के द्वारा बांधे गए संदेशों के, पलदों के, परिष्यंद के तथा वृणो के बंधनों को खोलता हूं. (५)
EN English Translation
I open the bonds of messages, palms, refinements and trees tied by Mann's wife, that is, the school. (5)
यानि॑ ते॒ऽन्तः शि॒क्यान्याबे॒धू र॒ण्या॑य॒ कम् । प्र ते॒ तानि॑ चृतामसि शि॒वा मा॑नस्य पत्नी न॒ उद्धि॑ता त॒न्वे भव ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कल्याण करने वाली मान की पत्नी! तुझ में भीतर जो छीके बांधे गए हैं तथा मचान बनाए गए हैं, हम उन्हें खोलते हैं. तुम हमें स्वर्गलोक में सुख दो तथा हम पर क्रोधित न होओ. (६)
EN English Translation
O wife of the welfare man! We open the sneezes and scaffoldings that have been tied inside you. May you give us happiness in heaven and do not be angry at us. (6)
ह॑वि॒र्धान॑मग्नि॒शालं॒ पत्नी॑नां॒ सद॑नं॒ सदः॑ । सदो॑ दे॒वाना॑मसि देवि शाले ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला! तुम में हव्य प्राप्त अग्नि, कुंड, देवों के बैठने योग्य आसन तथा पत्नियों सहित यजमानों के बैठने योग्य स्थान है. (७)

O school! You have a agni, kund, seating seating posture of gods and a place for the hosts, including wives. (7)
अक्षु॒मोप॒शं वित॑तं सहस्रा॒क्षं वि॑षू॒वति॑ । अव॑नद्धम॒भिहि॑तं॒ ब्रह्म॑णा॒ वि चृ॑तामसि ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दिव्यता संपन्न शाला! शयन कक्ष में विस्तृत झरोखा है. इस प्रकार के शयन कक्ष को मैं मंत्रों की शक्ति से खोलता हूं. (८)
EN English Translation
O school of divinity! There is a wide window in the bedroom. I open this type of bedroom with the power of mantras. (8)
यस्त्वा॑ शाले प्रतिगृ॒ह्णाति॒ येन॒ चासि॑ मि॒ता त्वम् । उ॒भौ मा॑नस्य पत्नि॒ तौ जीव॑तां ज॒रद॑ष्टी ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला! जो तुझे ग्रहण करता है तथा जिस ने नाप कर तेरा निर्माण किया है. हे मान की पत्नी! ये दोनों शरीर के शिथिल हो जाने तक जीवित रहें. (९)
EN English Translation
O school! He who receives you and who has measured and created you. O wife of Mann! Both of these bodies live until they relax. (9)
अ॒मुत्रै॑न॒मा ग॑च्छताद्दृ॒ढा न॒द्धा परि॑ष्कृता । यस्या॑स्ते विचृ॒ताम॒स्यङ्ग॑मङ्गं॒ परु॑ष्परुः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला! हम तेरे दृढ़तापूर्वक बंधे हुए अंगों को अलग कर रहे हैं. जिस ने तेरा निर्माण किया है, उसे तू स्वर्ग प्रदान कर. (१०)
EN English Translation
O school! We are separating your firmly bound limbs. Give heaven to the one who created you. (10)
यस्त्वा॑ शाले निमि॒माय॑ संज॒भार॒ वन॒स्पती॑न् । प्र॒जायै॑ चक्रे त्वा शाले परमे॒ष्ठी प्र॒जाप॑तिः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला, जिस ने तेरा निर्माण किया है और तेरा निर्माण करने के लिए जो वृक्षों की लकड़ी लाया है, प्रजापति ने प्रजा के निमित्त तेरा निर्माण किया है. (११)
EN English Translation
O school, the one who built you and the wood of the trees that he has brought to build you, Prajapati has built you for the sake of the people. (11)
नम॒स्तस्मै॒ नमो॑ दा॒त्रे शाला॑पतये च कृण्मः । नमो॒ऽग्नये॑ प्र॒चर॑ते॒ पुरु॑षाय च ते॒ नमः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कृष्ण! शलाका दान करने वाले को, शाला के स्वामी को, अग्नि के लिए, घूमनेफिरने वाले पुरुष के लिए तथा तुझे भी नमस्कार है. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Krishna! Salutations to the one who donates the shalaka, to the master of the school, to the agni, to the man who roams around and also to you. (12)
गोभ्यो॒ अश्वे॑भ्यो॒ नमो॒ यच्छाला॑यां वि॒जाय॑ते । विजा॑वति॒ प्रजा॑वति॒ वि ते॒ पाशां॑श्चृतामसि ॥ (१३)

शाला में जन्म लेने वाली गायों और घोड़ों को नमस्कार है. हे विजावती और प्रजावती! हम तेरे बंधनों को खोलते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
Salutations to the cows and horses born in the school. O Vijayavati and Prajavati! We open your bonds. (13)
अ॒ग्निम॒न्तश्छा॑दयसि॒ पुरु॑षान्प॒शुभिः॑ स॒ह । विजा॑वति॒ प्रजा॑वति॒ वि ते॒ पाशां॑श्चृतामसि ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे विजावती और प्रजावती! तुम अग्नि को, पुरुषों को और पशुओं को अपने में छिपा लेती हो. हम तुम्हारे फंदों को खोलते हैं. (१४)

O Vijayavati and Prajavati! You hide agni, men and animals in you. We open your nooses. (14)
अ॑न्त॒रा द्यां च॑ पृथि॒वीं च॒ यद्व्यच॒स्तेन॒ शालां॒ प्रति॑ गृह्णामि त इ॒माम् । यद॒न्तरि॑क्षं॒ रज॑सो वि॒मानं॒ तत्कृ॑ण्वे॒ऽहमु॒दरं॑ शेव॒धिभ्यः॑ । तेन॒ शालां॒ प्रति॑ गृह्णामि॒ तस्मै॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
द्यौ और पृथ्वी के मध्य जो विस्तृत आकाश हैं, उस के द्वारा हम तेरी इस शाला को ग्रहण करते हैं. अंतरिक्ष और पृथ्वी की जो रचना शक्ति है, वह तेरे उदर में स्थित है. (१५)
EN English Translation
Through the wide heavens between the earth and the earth, we receive this school of yours. The creation power of space and earth is located in your stomach. (15)
ऊर्ज॑स्वती॒ पय॑स्वती पृथि॒व्यां निमि॑ता मि॒ता । वि॑श्वा॒न्नं बिभ्र॑ती शाले॒ मा हिं॑सीः प्रतिगृह्ण॒तः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला! तू शक्तिशालिनी एवं दुग्ध से पूर्ण है. तुझे पृथ्वी पर नापतोल कर बनाया गया है. तू सभी प्रकार का अन्न धारण करती है. जो तुझे ग्रहण करते हैं, तू उन का विनाश मत कर. (१६)
EN English Translation
O school! You are full of strength and milk. You have been built by measuring on earth. You wear all kinds of food. Do not destroy those who receive you. (16)
तृणै॒रावृ॑ता पल॒दान्वसा॑ना॒ रात्री॑व॒ शाला॒ जग॑तो नि॒वेश॑नी । मि॒ता पृ॑थि॒व्यां ति॑ष्ठसि ह॒स्तिनी॑व प॒द्वती॑ ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
घासफूंस से ढकी हुई अर्थात् चटाइयों को धारण करती हुई शाला जगत् के प्राणियों को रात्रि के समान विश्राम देने वाली है. हे शाला! तू हथिनी के पैरों के चिल्लों के समान पृथ्वी पर स्थित है. (१७)
EN English Translation
Covered with grass, that is, wearing mats, the school is going to give rest to the creatures of the world like night. O school! You are situated on earth like the screams of the elephant's feet. (17)
इट॑स्य ते॒ वि चृ॑ता॒म्यपि॑नद्धमपोर्णु॒वन् । वरु॑णेन॒ समु॑ब्जितां मि॒त्रः प्रा॒तर्व्युब्जतु ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला! मैं व्यतीत हुए संवत्सर के समान तेरे बंधनों को खोल कर अलग करता हूं. तुझे वरुण ने खोला है, आदित्य तेरा उदघाटन करते हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
O school! I open and separate your bonds like the samvatsar that has passed. Varun has opened you, Aditya inaugurates you. (18)
ब्रह्म॑णा॒ शालां॒ निमि॑तां क॒विभि॒र्निमि॑तां मि॒ताम् । इ॑न्द्रा॒ग्नी र॑क्षतां॒ शाला॑म॒मृतौ॑ सो॒म्यं सदः॑ ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ब्रह्म ने इस शाला का निर्माण किया है और विद्वानों ने इस निर्माण की नापतोल में सहायता की है. सोमरस पीने के स्थान पर बैठे हुए इंद्र और अग्नि देव इस शाला की रक्षा करें. (१९)
EN English Translation
Brahma has built this school and scholars have helped in measuring this construction. While sitting in the place of drinking Someras, Indra and Agni Dev should protect this school. (19)
कु॒लायेऽधि॑ कु॒लायं॒ कोशे॒ कोशः॒ समु॑ब्जितः । तत्र॒ मर्तो॒ वि जा॑यते॒ यस्मा॒द्विश्वं॑ प्र॒जाय॑ते ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस शाला रूपी घोंसले के भीतर शरीर रूपी घोंसला है. कोश में कोश सुसञ्जित हैं. तात्पर्य यह है कि यह शाला कोश के समान है और इस में रहने वाला शरीर भी कोश के समान है. मरणधर्मा मनुष्य इसी में जन्म लेता है. सारे संसार की उत्पत्ति इसी प्रकार होती है. (२०)
EN English Translation
Within this laboratory-like nest is the body-like nest. The dictionaries are well-known in the dictionary. This means that it is like a shala kosh and the body living in it is also like a dictionary. A man of death is born in this. This is how the whole world originates. (20)
या द्विप॑क्षा॒ चतु॑ष्पक्षा॒ षट्प॑क्षा॒ या नि॑मी॒यते॑ । अ॒ष्टाप॑क्षां॒ दश॑पक्षां॒ शालां॒ मान॑स्य॒ पत्नी॑म॒ग्निर्गर्भ॑ इ॒वा श॑ये ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो शाला दो कक्षो, चार कक्षों, छ: कक्षों, आठ कक्षों और दस कक्षों वाली बनाई जाती है, मैं उस शाला में इस प्रकार सोता हूं, जिस प्रकार गर्भ में जठराग्नि विद्यमान रहती हैं. (२१)
EN English Translation
The school which is made of two chambers, four chambers, six chambers, eight chambers and ten chambers, I sleep in that school in the same way as gastritis are present in the womb. (21)
प्र॒तीचीं॑ त्वा प्रती॒चीनः॒ शाले॒ प्रैम्यहिं॑सतीम् । अ॒ग्निर्ह्यन्तराप॑श्च॒र्तस्य॑ प्रथ॒मा द्वाः ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला! मैं हिंसा रहित हो कर तुझ में प्रवेश करता हूं. तेरा मुख यदि पश्चिम की ओर है तो मैं पूर्वाभिमुख हो कर तुझ में प्रवेश करता हूं. ब्रह्म से उत्पन्न होने वाले अग्नि और जल भी मेरे साथ तुझ में प्रवेश करते हैं. (२२)
EN English Translation
O school! I enter you without violence. If you are facing west, I will face east and enter you. Agni and water originating from Brahman also enter you with me. (22)
इ॒मा आपः॒ प्र भ॑राम्यय॒क्ष्मा य॑क्ष्म॒नाश॑नीः । गृ॒हानुप॒ प्र सी॑दाम्य॒मृते॑न स॒हाग्निना॑ ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यक्ष्मा रोग से रहित मैं यक्ष्मा रोग का विनाश करने वाले जलों को भरता हूं तथा अमृतमय अग्नि ले कर घरों में प्रवेश करता हूं. (२३)
EN English Translation
Without tuberculosis, I fill the waters that destroy tuberculosis and enter the houses with nectar-filled agni. (23)
मा नः॒ पाशं॒ प्रति॑ मुचो गु॒रुर्भा॒रो ल॒घुर्भ॑व । व॒धूमि॑व त्वा शाले यत्र॒कामं॑ भरामसि ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शाला! अपने पाशों को हमारी ओर मत फेंक. गुरु भार वाली तू मेरे लिए कम भार वाली प्रतीत हो. हम वधू के समान तेरा शृंगार करते एवं तुझे सामग्री से भरते हैं. (२४)
EN English Translation
O school! Don't throw your loops towards us. You seem to me to be underweight. We adorn you like a bride and fill you with material. (24)
प्राच्या॑ दि॒शः शाला॑या॒ नमो॑ महि॒म्ने स्वाहा॑ दे॒वेभ्यः॑ स्वा॒ह्येभ्यः ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शाला की पूर्व दिशा को नमस्कार है. स्वाहा के योग्य इन महान देवों के लिए यह आहुति शुभ हो. (२५)

Salutations to the east direction of the school. May this sacrifice be auspicious for these great gods worthy of Swaha. (25)
दक्षि॑णाया दि॒शः शाला॑या॒ नमो॑ महि॒म्ने स्वाहा॑ दे॒वेभ्यः॑ स्वा॒ह्येभ्यः ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शाला की दक्षिण दिशा को नमस्कार है. स्वाहा के योग्य इन महान देवों के लिए यह आहुति शुभ हो. (२६)

Salutations to the south direction of the school. May this sacrifice be auspicious for these great gods worthy of Swaha. (26)
प्र॒तीच्या॑ दि॒शः शाला॑या॒ नमो॑ महि॒म्ने स्वाहा॑ दे॒वेभ्यः॑ स्वा॒ह्येभ्यः ॥ (२७)

शाला की पश्चिम दिशा को नमस्कार है. स्वाहा के योग्य इन महान देवों के लिए यह आहुति शुभ हो. (२७)

उदी॑च्या दि॒शः शाला॑या॒ नमो॑ महि॒म्ने स्वाहा॑ दे॒वेभ्यः॑ स्वा॒ह्येभ्यः ॥ (२८)

शाला की उत्तर दिशा को नमस्कार है. स्वाहा के योग्य इन महान देवों के लिए आहुति शुभ हो. (२८)
