शा॒स इ॒त्था म॒हाँ अ॑स्यमित्रखा॒दो अद्भु॑तः । न यस्य॑ ह॒न्यते॒ सखा॒ न जीय॑ते॒ कदा॑ च॒न ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं सदा इस प्रकार इंद्र की स्तुति करता हूं-- हे इंद्र! तुम महान् शत्रुभक्षक एवं अदभुत हो. तुम्हारा सखा न कभी मरता है और न हारता है. (१)
EN English Translation
I always praise Indra like this- O Indra! You are a great enemy and wonderful. Your friend never dies or loses. (1)
स्व॒स्ति॒दा वि॒शस्पति॑र्वृत्र॒हा वि॑मृ॒धो व॒शी । वृषेन्द्रः॑ पु॒र ए॑तु नः सोम॒पा अ॑भयंक॒रः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कल्याणदाता, प्रजाओं के स्वामी, वृत्रनाशक, युद्ध करने वाले, शत्रु को वश में करने वाले, अभिलाषापूरक, सोमरस पीने वाले एवं अभयकर्ता इंद्र हमारे सामने आवें. (२)
EN English Translation
The welfare giver, the masters of the people, the destroyers, the war-givers, the enemies, the desireists, the drinkers of somras and the abbeys, may Indra come before us. (2)
वि रक्षो॒ वि मृधो॑ जहि॒ वि वृ॒त्रस्य॒ हनू॑ रुज । वि म॒न्युमि॑न्द्र वृत्रहन्न॒मित्र॑स्याभि॒दास॑तः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वृत्रनाशक इंद्र! तुम राक्षस और शन्रुओं का नाश करो. तुम वृत्र के जबड़ों को तोड़ दो तथा हमसे द्वेष करने वाले अप्रिय शत्रु का क्रोध समाप्त करो. (३)
EN English Translation
O the conqueror Indra! You destroy the monsters and the shanrus. You break the jaws of the vritra and put an end to the wrath of the unpleasant enemy who hates us. (3)
वि न॑ इन्द्र॒ मृधो॑ जहि नी॒चा य॑च्छ पृतन्य॒तः । यो अ॒स्माँ अ॑भि॒दास॒त्यध॑रं गमया॒ तमः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हमारे शत्रुओं को मारो तथा हमसे लड़ने के इच्छुक लोगों को बलहीन बनाओ. जो हमें चारों ओर से हानि पहुंचाता है, उसे निकृष्ट अंधकार में डाल दो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Kill our enemies and make those willing to fight us without force. Whoever harms us from all around, put him in the darkness. (4)
अपे॑न्द्र द्विष॒तो मनोऽप॒ जिज्या॑सतो व॒धम् । वि म॒न्योः शर्म॑ यच्छ॒ वरी॑यो यवया व॒धम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! शत्रु का मनोबल तोड़ दो. जो हमें जर्जर करना चाहता है, उस पर आयुध चलाओ. हमें शत्रु के क्रोध से बचाकर सुख दो एवं शत्रु के आयुध को हमसे अलग करो. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Break the morale of the enemy. Run the armaments on the one who wants to make us shabby. Save us from the enemy's wrath and give us happiness and separate the enemy's weapon from us. (5)
