सोम॒ एके॑भ्यः पवते घृ॒तमेक॒ उपा॑सते । येभ्यो॒ मधु॑ प्र॒धाव॑ति॒ ताँश्चि॑दे॒वापि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कुछ पितरों के लिए सोमरस निचोड़ा जाता है और कुछ घी का सेवन करते हैं. हे प्रेत! तुम उन पितरों के पास जाओ, जिनके लिए मधु बहता है. (१)
EN English Translation
Some fathers are squeezed to some of the somras and some consume ghee. O ghost! You go to the fathers for whom honey flows. (1)
तप॑सा॒ ये अ॑नाधृ॒ष्यास्तप॑सा॒ ये स्व॑र्य॒युः । तपो॒ ये च॑क्रि॒रे मह॒स्ताँश्चि॑दे॒वापि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रे! तुम उन पितरों के समीप जाओ, जो तपस्या करके अपराजेय बने, जो तपस्या से स्वर्ग गए एवं जिन्होंने महान् तप किया. (२)
EN English Translation
Hey, Pr! Go to the fathers who became invincible by doing penance, who went to heaven by penance and who did the great penance. (2)
ये युध्य॑न्ते प्र॒धने॑षु॒ शूरा॑सो॒ ये त॑नू॒त्यजः॑ । ये वा॑ स॒हस्र॑दक्षिणा॒स्ताँश्चि॑दे॒वापि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! तुम उन पितरों के समीप जाओ जो युद्धक्षेत्र में युद्ध करते हैं, जिन शूरों ने शरीर का मोह छोड़ दिया था अथवा जिन्होंने हजारों मुद्राएं दक्षिणा में दीं. (३)
EN English Translation
Hey, Pret! you go to the pitars (ancestors) who fight in the battlefield, the brave who gave up the attachment of the body, or who gave thousands of mudras in the dakshina. (3)
ये चि॒त्पूर्व॑ ऋत॒साप॑ ऋ॒तावा॑न ऋता॒वृधः॑ । पि॒तॄन्तप॑स्वतो यम॒ ताँश्चि॑दे॒वापि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यम! यह प्रेत उन्हीं पितरों के पास जाए जो उत्तम कर्म करके पुण्य वाले बने, जिन्होंने यज्ञ को बढ़ाया एवं जिन्होंने तपस्या की. (४)
EN English Translation
Oh, Yum! Let this ghost go to those fathers who did good deeds and became virtuous, who extended the yajna and who did penance. (4)
स॒हस्र॑णीथाः क॒वयो॒ ये गो॑पा॒यन्ति॒ सूर्य॑म् । ऋषी॒न्तप॑स्वतो यम तपो॒जाँ अपि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यम! यह प्रेत उन्हीं तपस्या करने वाले एवं देवों से उत्पन्न ऋषियों के समीप जावे जो हजारों प्रकार के उत्तम कर्म कर चुके हैं, बुद्धिमान् बने हैं एवं जो सूर्य की रक्षा करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Oh, Yum! Let this ghost approach the sages who do the same penance and arise from the gods who have done thousands of good deeds, become wise and who protect the sun. (5)
