अपे॑हि मनसस्प॒तेऽप॑ क्राम प॒रश्च॑र । प॒रो निरृ॑त्या॒ आ च॑क्ष्व बहु॒धा जीव॑तो॒ मनः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मेरे मन पर अधिकार करने वाले दुःस्वप्न देव! तुम यहां से हटो, भाग जाओ और दूर घूमो. हे दूरस्थित पाप देवता! निर्त्ति से तुम कहो कि जीवित व्यक्ति के मनोरथ अनेक होते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O you nightmare God who has taken over my mind! You move from here, run away and walk away. O remote sin god! You must say in a judgment that the desires of a living person are many. (1)
भ॒द्रं वै वरं॑ वृणते भ॒द्रं यु॑ञ्जन्ति॒ दक्षि॑णम् । भ॒द्रं वै॑वस्व॒ते चक्षु॑र्बहु॒त्रा जीव॑तो॒ मनः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जीवित व्यक्ति के मनोरथ विस्तृत, उत्तम एवं अभिलाषायोग्य वस्तु को चाहने वाले एवं उत्तम फल के इच्छुक होते हैं. यम अपने कल्याणकारी नेत्र से उसे देखते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The desires of a living person are those who want to have a wide, good and desireful thing and want good fruit. Yama looks at him with his own welfare eyes. (2)
यदा॒शसा॑ निः॒शसा॑भि॒शसो॑पारि॒म जाग्र॑तो॒ यत्स्व॒पन्तः॑ । अ॒ग्निर्विश्वा॒न्यप॑ दुष्कृ॒तान्यजु॑ष्टान्या॒रे अ॒स्मद्द॑धातु ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम आशावान् होकर, आशारहित होकर अभिलाषा पूरी करने पर जागते समय एवं सोते समय जो बुरे कर्म करते हैं, उन्हें तुम हमसे दूर ले जाओ. वे क्लेश देने वाले पाप हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! Take away from us the evil deeds that we do while awake and sleeping when we are awake and sleeping, without hope, without hope, without hope. They are tribulation-giving sins. (3)
यदि॑न्द्र ब्रह्मणस्पतेऽभिद्रो॒हं चरा॑मसि । प्रचे॑ता न आङ्गिर॒सो द्वि॑ष॒तां पा॒त्वंह॑सः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं ब्रह्मणस्पति! हमने जो पाप किया है, अंगिरा के पुत्र प्रचेता उस शत्रुरूप पाप से हमें बचावें. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Brahmaspati! Let the sin we have committed, the son of Angira, Pracheta, save us from that hostile sin. (4)
अजै॑ष्मा॒द्यास॑नाम॒ चाभू॒माना॑गसो व॒यम् । जा॒ग्र॒त्स्व॒प्नः सं॑क॒ल्पः पा॒पो यं द्वि॒ष्मस्तं स ऋ॑च्छतु॒ यो नो॒ द्वेष्टि॒ तमृ॑च्छतु ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आज हमने विजयी बनकर प्राप्त करने योग्य वस्तुएं पा ली हैं. हम आज पापरहित हो गए हैं. हमने जागते में, सोते में अथवा संकल्परूप में जो पाप किया है, वह हमारे द्वेषियों अथवा हमसे द्वेष करने वालों के समीप पहुंचे. (५)
EN English Translation
Today we have won and found things to achieve. We have become sinless today. The sin we have committed in the wake, in sleep, or in the form of a resolve, has come to the close of our malice or to those who hate us. (5)
