नि व॑र्तध्वं॒ मानु॑ गाता॒स्मान्सि॑षक्त रेवतीः । अग्नी॑षोमा पुनर्वसू अ॒स्मे धा॑रयतं र॒यिम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे गायो! तुम हमारे पास लौट आओ. तुम हमारे अतिरिक्त किसी के पास मत जाओ. हे धनयुक्त गायो! तुम हमें दूध से सींचो. हे बार-बार धन देने वाले अग्नि और सोम! तुम हमें धन दो. (१)
EN English Translation
Hey, sing! You come back to us. Don't you go to anyone other than us. Sing rich! You irrigate us with milk. O agni and mon who give money again and again! You give us the money. (1)
पुन॑रेना॒ नि व॑र्तय॒ पुन॑रेना॒ न्या कु॑रु । इन्द्र॑ एणा॒ नि य॑च्छत्व॒ग्निरे॑ना उ॒पाज॑तु ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मेरी आत्मा! इन गायों को बार-बार अपनी ओर मोड़ो और बार-बार वश में करो. इंद्र इन्हें तुम्हारे वश में करें तथा अग्नि इन्हें उपयोगी बनावें. (२)
EN English Translation
Oh my soul! Turn these cows to yourself again and again and tame them again and again. Let Indra subdue them to you and let the agni make them useful. (2)
पुन॑रे॒ता नि व॑र्तन्ताम॒स्मिन्पु॑ष्यन्तु॒ गोप॑तौ । इ॒हैवाग्ने॒ नि धा॑रये॒ह ति॑ष्ठतु॒ या र॒यिः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ये गाएं बार-बार लौटकर मेरे पास आवें एवं मुझ गोपाल के पास आकर पुष्ट हों. हे अग्नि! इन गायों को मेरे पास ही रखो. यह गायरूप धन मेरे पास ही रहे. (३)
EN English Translation
Let these songs come back to me again and again and let me come to Gopal and be confirmed. O agni! Keep these cows with me. This cowish money stayed with me. (3)
यन्नि॒यानं॒ न्यय॑नं सं॒ज्ञानं॒ यत्प॒राय॑णम् । आ॒वर्त॑नं नि॒वर्त॑नं॒ यो गो॒पा अपि॒ तं हु॑वे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं प्रार्थना करता हूं कि मुझे गायों से भरी हुई गोशाला प्राप्त हो. गाएं मेरे घर आवें. मैं गायों को पहचानूं व गायों को चराने जाउं. गाएं मेरे घर से वन में जावें और चरने के बाद वापस लौटें. मैं गाय पालने वालों की भी प्रार्थना करता हूं. (४)
EN English Translation
I pray that I get a goshala full of cows. Sing to my house. I'll recognize the cows and go to graze the cows. Sing from my house to the forest and return after grazing. I also pray to the cow-rearers. (4)
य उ॒दान॒ड्व्यय॑नं॒ य उ॒दान॑ट् प॒राय॑णम् । आ॒वर्त॑नं नि॒वर्त॑न॒मपि॑ गो॒पा नि व॑र्तताम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो गोपाल खोई हुई गायों की सब ओर खोज करता है, जो गायों को घर वापस ले जाता है, जो गायों को घर से चराने ले जाता है और चराकर लौटता है, वह सकुशल लौट आवे. (५)
EN English Translation
Gopal, who searches for the lost cows everywhere, who takes the cows back home, who takes the cows from the house for grazing and returns after grazing, should return safely. (5)
आ नि॑वर्त॒ नि व॑र्तय॒ पुन॑र्न इन्द्र॒ गा दे॑हि । जी॒वाभि॑र्भुनजामहै ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम हमारी ओर आओ एवं गायों को हमारी ओर लाओ. तुम हमें गाएं दो. हम अधिक दिन जीने वाली गायों का दूध पिएं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Come to us and bring the cows towards us. You sing to us. We drink the milk of cows that live longer. (6)
परि॑ वो वि॒श्वतो॑ दध ऊ॒र्जा घृ॒तेन॒ पय॑सा । ये दे॒वाः के च॑ य॒ज्ञिया॒स्ते र॒य्या सं सृ॑जन्तु नः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सर्वत्र स्थित देवो! मैं गाय के दूध, दही व घृत से तुम्हारी सेवा करता हूं जो यज्ञ के योग्य देव हैं, वे हमें गायरूप धन से मिलावें. (७)
EN English Translation
Oh, god everywhere! I serve you with cow's milk, curd and ghee, those who are deities worthy of yajna, may they meet us with the money of the cow. (7)
आ नि॑वर्तन वर्तय॒ नि नि॑वर्तन वर्तय । भूम्या॒श्चत॑स्रः प्र॒दिश॒स्ताभ्य॑ एना॒ नि व॑र्तय ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मेरी आत्मा! गायों को मेरे पास लाओ. हे गायो! तुम मेरे पास आओ. भूमि और चारों दिशाओं से गायों को मेरे पास लाओ. गाएं भी उक्त स्थानों से मेरे पास लौट आवे. (८)
EN English Translation
Oh my soul! Bring the cows to me. Hey, sing! You come to me. Bring the land and cows from all four directions to me. Sing also return to me from the said places. (8)
