दि॒वस्परि॑ प्रथ॒मं ज॑ज्ञे अ॒ग्निर॒स्मद्द्वि॒तीयं॒ परि॑ जा॒तवे॑दाः । तृ॒तीय॑म॒प्सु नृ॒मणा॒ अज॑स्र॒मिन्धा॑न एनं जरते स्वा॒धीः ॥ (१)

अग्नि सबसे पहले द्युलोक के ऊपर आदित्यरूप में उत्पन्न हुए. अग्नि दूसरी बार जातवेद के रूप में हमारे बीच उत्पन्न हुए. तीसरी बार वे जल में पैदा हुए. मानव हितकारी अग्नि निरंतर जलते रहते हैं. शोभन ध्यान वाले लोग अग्नि की स्तुति करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The agni first originated in adityarupa above the dulok. The agni originated among us for the second time as the Jataveda. The third time they were born in water. Human-beneficial agnis are constantly burning. People with shobhan meditation praise agni. (1)
वि॒द्मा ते॑ अग्ने त्रे॒धा त्र॒याणि॑ वि॒द्मा ते॒ धाम॒ विभृ॑ता पुरु॒त्रा । वि॒द्मा ते॒ नाम॑ पर॒मं गुहा॒ यद्वि॒द्मा तमुत्सं॒ यत॑ आज॒गन्थ॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम तीन स्थानों में स्थित तुम्हारे तीन रूप जानते हैं एवं अनेक स्थानों पर स्थित तुम्हारे तेजों को जानते हैं. हम तुम्हारे गूढ़ एवं प्रसिद्ध नामों को जानते हैं. हम उस उत्पत्तिस्थान को भी जानते हैं एवं उसे भी जानते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! We know your three forms in three places and your brightnesses in many places. We know your esoteric and famous names. We know and know that place of origin. (2)
स॒मु॒द्रे त्वा॑ नृ॒मणा॑ अ॒प्स्व१॒॑न्तर्नृ॒चक्षा॑ ईधे दि॒वो अ॑ग्न॒ ऊध॑न् । तृ॒तीये॑ त्वा॒ रज॑सि तस्थि॒वांस॑म॒पामु॒पस्थे॑ महि॒षा अ॑वर्धन् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! मानव-हितैषी वरुणदेव ने तुम्हें सागर के मध्यस्थित जल में प्रज्वलित किया. मानवों को देखने वाले सूर्य ने तुम्हें आकाशरूपी स्तन में जलाया. तुम्हारा तीसरा स्थान मेघों के बीच जल में है. महान् देव तुम्हें बढ़ाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! The human-friendly Varundev ignited you in the middle water of the ocean. The sun that sees humans lit you in a celestial breast. Your third place is in the water between the clouds. The great God increases you. (3)
अक्र॑न्दद॒ग्निः स्त॒नय॑न्निव॒ द्यौः क्षामा॒ रेरि॑हद्वी॒रुधः॑ सम॒ञ्जन् । स॒द्यो ज॑ज्ञा॒नो वि हीमि॒द्धो अख्य॒दा रोद॑सी भा॒नुना॑ भात्य॒न्तः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दावाग्नि का क्रंदन इस प्रकार हुआ जैसे आकाश में बिजली कड़कती हो. अग्नि धरती को चाटते एवं लताओं को जलाते हैं. तुरंत उत्पन्न अग्नि दीप्त होकर अपने द्वारा जलाई हुई वस्तुओं को देखते हैं एवं अपनी किरणों से धरती और आकाश के मध्य भाग को प्रकाशित करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The crinkling of the dawaagni happened as if lightning were burning in the sky. Fire licks the earth and burns the vines. The agni that is immediately produced is illuminated and sees the objects they have lit and light up the middle part of the earth and the sky with their rays. (4)
श्री॒णामु॑दा॒रो ध॒रुणो॑ रयी॒णां म॑नी॒षाणां॒ प्रार्प॑णः॒ सोम॑गोपाः । वसुः॑ सू॒नुः सह॑सो अ॒प्सु राजा॒ वि भा॒त्यग्र॑ उ॒षसा॑मिधा॒नः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि विभूतियों के दाता, धनों के धारणकर्ता, मनचाही वस्तुएं देने वाले, सोमरस के रक्षक, सबको बसाने वाले, शक्ति के पुत्र, जलों में स्थित एवं सबके स्वामी हैं. प्रातःकाल के प्रारंभ में प्रज्वलित अग्नि विशेष शोभा धारण करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
The givers of agni are the givers of the people of agni, the holders of wealth, the givers of the desired things, the protectors of the Somras, the settlers of all, the sons of power, who are in the waters and the masters of all. The agni ignited at the beginning of the morning holds a special splendor. (5)
विश्व॑स्य के॒तुर्भुव॑नस्य॒ गर्भ॒ आ रोद॑सी अपृणा॒ज्जाय॑मानः । वी॒ळुं चि॒दद्रि॑मभिनत्परा॒यञ्जना॒ यद॒ग्निमय॑जन्त॒ पञ्च॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विश्व का ज्ञान कराने वाले व जल के गर्भ रूप अग्नि उत्पन्न होते ही धरती-आकाश को घेर लेते हैं. जब मनुष्यों की पांचों जातियां अग्नि का यज्ञ करती हैं, तब जाते हुए दृढ़ मेघ को भी भेद देती हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Those who make sense of the world and the womb of water surround the earth and sky as soon as agni is produced. When the five species of human beings perform the yagna of agni, they also distinguish the strong cloud while going. (6)
उ॒शिक्पा॑व॒को अ॑र॒तिः सु॑मे॒धा मर्ते॑ष्व॒ग्निर॒मृतो॒ नि धा॑यि । इय॑र्ति धू॒मम॑रु॒षं भरि॑भ्र॒दुच्छु॒क्रेण॑ शो॒चिषा॒ द्यामिन॑क्षन् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हवि चाटने वाले, समस्त लोकों को शुद्ध करने वाले, सब ओर गतिशील, शोभन प्रज्ञा वाले व मरणरहित अग्नि मरणधर्मा मानवों में रहते हैं. अग्नि धूम को प्रेरित करते हैं एवं तेजस्वी रूप धारण करते हुए, उज्ज्वल किरणों से स्वर्ग को व्याप्त करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Those who lick, purify all the realms, are dynamic everywhere, those with a good sense of mind and without death, live in human beings. Fire inspires smoke and pervades heaven with bright rays, taking a stunning form. (7)
दृ॒शा॒नो रु॒क्म उ॑र्वि॒या व्य॑द्यौद्दु॒र्मर्ष॒मायुः॑ श्रि॒ये रु॑चा॒नः । अ॒ग्निर॒मृतो॑ अभव॒द्वयो॑भि॒र्यदे॑नं॒ द्यौर्ज॒नय॑त्सु॒रेताः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देखने में तेजस्वी अग्नि अत्यंत प्रकाशित होते हैं. सभी जगह जाने वाले अग्नि शोभा के लिए दुर्धर्ष रूप से चमकते हैं. वे अन्नों और वनस्पतियों से अमर बने हैं. अग्नि को शोभन वीर्य वाले आदित्य ने जन्म दिया है. (८)
EN English Translation
Stunning agnis in view are extremely illuminated. Fires going all over the place shine miserably for shobha. They are immortalized by grains and vegetation. Agni has been given birth by Aditya with shobhan semen. (8)
यस्ते॑ अ॒द्य कृ॒णव॑द्भद्रशोचेऽपू॒पं दे॑व घृ॒तव॑न्तमग्ने । प्र तं न॑य प्रत॒रं वस्यो॒ अच्छा॒भि सु॒म्नं दे॒वभ॑क्तं यविष्ठ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कल्याणकारक दीप्ति वाले, दीप्तिशाली एवं अतिशय युवा अग्नि! तुम्हारे लिए आज जिस यजमान ने घी वाला पुआ बनाया है, उस उत्तम व्यक्ति को तुम धन की ओर ले जाओ एवं उस देवसेवक यजमान को सुख दो. (९)
EN English Translation
O you who have a good light, a bright and very young agni! Take the good person who has made the ghee pua for you today for you towards wealth and give happiness to that devasevak host. (9)
आ तं भ॑ज सौश्रव॒सेष्व॑ग्न उ॒क्थौ॑क्थ॒ आ भ॑ज श॒स्यमा॑ने । प्रि॒यः सूर्ये॑ प्रि॒यो अ॒ग्ना भ॑वा॒त्युज्जा॒तेन॑ भि॒नद॒दुज्जनि॑त्वैः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम शोभन हव्यों वाले यज्ञों के समय यजमान को मनचाहा फल दो एवं स्तोत्र के उच्चारण के समय भी उसकी अभिलाषा पूरी करो. वह यजमान सूर्य और अग्नि का प्रिय हो एवं उत्पन्न तथा भविष्य में जन्म लेने वाले पुत्रों की सहायता से शत्रु का नाश करे. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! At the time of the yajnas with shobhan havans, give the host the desired fruits and fulfill his desire even at the time of the recitation of the hymn. May the host be dear to the sun and agni and destroy the enemy with the help of the sons who are born and born in the future. (10)
त्वाम॑ग्ने॒ यज॑माना॒ अनु॒ द्यून्विश्वा॒ वसु॑ दधिरे॒ वार्या॑णि । त्वया॑ स॒ह द्रवि॑णमि॒च्छमा॑ना व्र॒जं गोम॑न्तमु॒शिजो॒ वि व॑व्रुः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! यजमान तुम्हारे लिए प्रतिदिन सभी उत्तम धनों को धारण करते हैं. राक्षसों द्वारा चुराए गए गोधन की अभिलाषा करने वाले मेधावी देवों ने तुम्हारे साथ राक्षसों की पशुशाला का द्वार खोला. (११)
EN English Translation
O agni! Hosts hold all the best wealth for you every day. The brilliant gods who wish for godhan stolen by the demons opened the door of the demons' herd with you. (11)
अस्ता॑व्य॒ग्निर्न॒रां सु॒शेवो॑ वैश्वान॒र ऋषि॑भिः॒ सोम॑गोपाः । अ॒द्वे॒षे द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी हु॑वेम॒ देवा॑ ध॒त्त र॒यिम॒स्मे सु॒वीर॑म् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम ऋषियों ने मानवों को शोभन सुख देने वाले, सभी मानवों के हितैषी व सोम के द्वारा रक्षणीय अग्नि की स्तुति की. हम द्वेषरहित द्यावा-पृथिवी का आह्वान करते हैं. हे देवो! तुम हमें शोभन संतानयुक्त धन दो. (१२)
EN English Translation
We rishis have praised the agni that gives good pleasure to human beings, benefactors of all human beings and protectable by Som. We call upon the detestable Dyava-Prithvi. Oh, God! You give us rich children's money. (12)
