स्वर्ग में विचरण करने वाले देवों व धरती तथा जल के जंतुओं ने मेरा नाम “इंद्र रखा है. मैं यज्ञ में जाने के लिए हरे रंग वाले, शक्तिशाली, विविध कर्म वाले एवं शीघ्रगामी अश्वों को रथ में जोड़ता हूं तथा धर्षक वज्र को शक्ति प्राप्त करने के लिए धारण करता हूं. (२)

The gods who wandered in heaven and the animals of the earth and the water have named me "Indra." I add green, powerful, varied deeded and fast-moving horses to the chariot to go to the yagna and wear the dharshaka vajra to gain strength. (2)
