आपो॒ हि ष्ठा म॑यो॒भुव॒स्ता न॑ ऊ॒र्जे द॑धातन । म॒हे रणा॑य॒ चक्ष॑से ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सुख के आधार जल! तुम हमें अन्न पाने के योग्य बनाओ तथा हमें महान् व रमणीय ज्ञान दो. (१)
EN English Translation
O water the basis of happiness! You make us worthy of food and give us great and delightful knowledge. (1)
यो वः॑ शि॒वत॑मो॒ रस॒स्तस्य॑ भाजयते॒ह नः॑ । उ॒श॒तीरि॑व मा॒तरः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जल! पुत्र की उन्नति चाहने वाली माताएं जिस प्रकार उसे दूध देती हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम अपना सुखकर रस हमें दो. (२)
EN English Translation
O water! Just as mothers who seek the son's advancement give him milk, so do you give us your happiness and juice. (2)
तस्मा॒ अरं॑ गमाम वो॒ यस्य॒ क्षया॑य॒ जिन्व॑थ । आपो॑ ज॒नय॑था च नः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जल! तुम जिस पाप को नष्ट करने के लिए हमसे प्रसन्न हुए हो, हम उसी पाप के नाश के लिए तुम्हारे पास शीघ्र जाते हैं. तुम हमें प्रजनन के योग्य बनाओ. (३)
EN English Translation
O water! The sin you have been pleased with us to destroy, we go to you quickly to destroy the same sin. You make us worthy of reproduction. (3)
शं नो॑ दे॒वीर॒भिष्ट॑य॒ आपो॑ भवन्तु पी॒तये॑ । शं योर॒भि स्र॑वन्तु नः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दिव्य जल हमारे यज्ञ के लिए सुखदाता हों एवं पीने योग्य बनें. जल हमारे ऊपर शुद्धि हेतु बरसें, हमारे उत्पन्न रोगों को मिटावें तथा अनुत्पन्न रोगों को हमसे अलग रखें. (४)
EN English Translation
May divine water be the comforter for our yajna and be potable. Let water rain on us for purification, eradicate the diseases we cause and keep the unattainable diseases separate from us. (4)
ईशा॑ना॒ वार्या॑णां॒ क्षय॑न्तीश्चर्षणी॒नाम् । अ॒पो या॑चामि भेष॒जम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जल अभिलाषायोग्य वस्तुओं के स्वामी एवं मानवों को निवासस्थान देने वाले हैं. हम जलों से दवाओं की प्रार्थना करें. (५)
EN English Translation
Water is the owner of the desired things and gives habitat to human beings. Let's pray for medicines from the waters. (5)
अ॒प्सु मे॒ सोमो॑ अब्रवीद॒न्तर्विश्वा॑नि भेष॒जा । अ॒ग्निं च॑ वि॒श्वश॑म्भुवम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम ने मुझसे कहा कि जल के भीतर सभी दवाएं एवं संसार को सुखी करने वाले अग्नि रहते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Som told me that all the medicines and agnis that make the world happy live inside the water. (6)
आपः॑ पृणी॒त भे॑ष॒जं वरू॑थं त॒न्वे॒३॒॑ मम॑ । ज्योक्च॒ सूर्यं॑ दृ॒शे ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जल! तुम मेरे शरीर की रक्षा करने वाली दवाओं को पुष्ट करो, जिससे हम बहुत दिन तक सूर्य को देख सकें. (७)
EN English Translation
O water! You confirm the medicines that protect my body, so that we can see the sun for a long time. (7)
इ॒दमा॑पः॒ प्र व॑हत॒ यत्किं च॑ दुरि॒तं मयि॑ । यद्वा॒हम॑भिदु॒द्रोह॒ यद्वा॑ शे॒प उ॒तानृ॑तम् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जल! मुझ में जो कुछ पाप है, मैंने जो द्रोह किया है, मेरा जो पतन हुआ है अथवा मैंने जो झूठ बोला है, उसे मुझसे दूर करो. (८)
EN English Translation
O water! Take away from me all the sins that I have sinned, the treachery I have committed, the downfall that I have committed, or the lies I have told. (8)
आपो॑ अ॒द्यान्व॑चारिषं॒ रसे॑न॒ सम॑गस्महि । पय॑स्वानग्न॒ आ ग॑हि॒ तं मा॒ सं सृ॑ज॒ वर्च॑सा ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आज मैं जल में घुसा हूं. मैंने जल का रस पिया है. हे अग्नि! तुम जलयुक्त बनकर जाओ एवं मुझे तेजस्वी बनाओ. (९)
EN English Translation
Today I'm in the water. I drank water juice. O agni! You go as watery and make me stunning. (9)
