य एक॒ इद्धव्य॑श्चर्षणी॒नामिन्द्रं॒ तं गी॒र्भिर॒भ्य॑र्च आ॒भिः । यः पत्य॑ते वृष॒भो वृष्ण्या॑वान्स॒त्यः सत्वा॑ पुरुमा॒यः सह॑स्वान् ॥ (१)

जो एकमात्र इंद्र प्रजाओं द्वारा विपत्तियों में बुलाने योग्य हैं, जो स्तोताओं की पुकार सुनकर दौड़े आते हैं, जो कामवर्षी, शक्तिशाली, सत्यभाषी, शत्रुनाशक, विशाल बुद्धि वाले एवं शत्रुपराभवकारी हैं, उन्हें हम इन स्तुतियों द्वारा बुलाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
We call those who are the only Indras who are called into adversities by the people, who come running after hearing the call of the Psalms, who are lustful, powerful, truthful, hostile, fierce-minded and hostile, are called by these praises. (1)
स्तु॒षे जनं॑ सुव्र॒तं नव्य॑सीभिर्गी॒र्भिर्मि॒त्रावरु॑णा सुम्न॒यन्ता॑ । त आ ग॑मन्तु॒ त इ॒ह श्रु॑वन्तु सुक्ष॒त्रासो॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॒ग्निः ॥ (१)

मैं नई स्तुतियों द्वारा शोभन-कर्म वाले देवों की प्रशंसा करता हूं. मैं स्तोताओं के सुख की अभिलाषा करने वाले मित्र व वरुण की स्तुति करता हूं. शोभनबलसंपन्न मित्र, वरुण एवं अग्नि यहां आवें और मेरी स्तुतियां सुनें. (१)
EN English Translation
I admire the gods of adornment through new hymns. I admire varuna, a friend who longed for the happiness of the psalms. May the brave friends, Varun and Agni come here and listen to my praises. (1)
सु॒त इत्त्वं निमि॑श्ल इन्द्र॒ सोमे॒ स्तोमे॒ ब्रह्म॑णि श॒स्यमा॑न उ॒क्थे । यद्वा॑ यु॒क्ताभ्यां॑ मघव॒न्हरि॑भ्यां॒ बिभ्र॒द्वज्रं॑ बा॒ह्वोरि॑न्द्र॒ यासि॑ ॥ (१)

हे इंद्र! जब सोमरस निचुड़ जाता है, महान् स्तोत्र बोलना आरंभ हो जाता है एवं वैदिक स्तुतियां होने लगती हैं, तब तुम अपने रथ में घोड़े जोड़ते हो. हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! तुम दोनों हाथों में वज्र उठाकर रथ में जुड़े हुए दो घोड़ों की सहायता से आते हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When the Somras are deserted, the great hymns begin to speak and vedic hymns begin to appear, then you add horses to your chariot. O Dhanaswami Indra! You carry a thunderbolt in both hands and come with the help of two horses attached to the chariot. (1)
त्वं ह्य॑ग्ने प्रथ॒मो म॒नोता॒स्या धि॒यो अभ॑वो दस्म॒ होता॑ । त्वं सीं॑ वृषन्नकृणोर्दु॒ष्टरी॑तु॒ सहो॒ विश्व॑स्मै॒ सह॑से॒ सह॑ध्यै ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! तुम्हीं देवों में श्रेष्ठ हो. उनका मन तुमसे संबद्ध है. हे दर्शनीय! तुम ही इस यज्ञ में देवों को बुलाने वाले हो. हे कामवर्षी! सभी शत्रुओं को पराजित करने के लिए तुम हमें अद्वितीय शक्ति दो. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the best of gods. Their mind is related to you. O you seeable! You are the one who is going to call the gods in this yajna. Oh, yearly! Give us unique power to defeat all enemies. (1)
वृषा॒ मद॒ इन्द्रे॒ श्लोक॑ उ॒क्था सचा॒ सोमे॑षु सुत॒पा ऋ॑जी॒षी । अ॒र्च॒त्र्यो॑ म॒घवा॒ नृभ्य॑ उ॒क्थैर्द्यु॒क्षो राजा॑ गि॒रामक्षि॑तोतिः ॥ (१)

सोमरस-युक्त यज्ञ में इंद्र की सोमपान से उत्पन्न प्रसन्नता यजमान की अभिलाषा पूरी करने वाली हो. वैदिक मंत्रों वाली स्तुति भी यजमान की इच्छा पूरी करे. सोम पीने वाले, सोमलता का रसहीन अंश स्वीकारने वाले एवं धनवान् इंद्र मानवों की स्तुतियों द्वारा पूजा करने योग्य हैं. स्वर्ग में रहने वाले एवं स्तुतियों के स्वामी इंद्र पूर्णतया रक्षा करते हैं. EN English Translation
The happiness arising from Indra's sompan in the somras-containing yajna is going to fulfill the desire of the host. Praise with Vedic mantras should also fulfill the wish of the host. Those who drink som, accept the juiceless part of somalata and dhanvan indra are eligible to be worshipped by the praises of human beings. Indra, who lives in heaven and the lord of the praises, protects himself completely. (1)
हु॒वे वो॑ दे॒वीमदि॑तिं॒ नमो॑भिर्मृळी॒काय॒ वरु॑णं मि॒त्रम॒ग्निम् । अ॒भि॒क्ष॒दाम॑र्य॒मणं॑ सु॒शेवं॑ त्रा॒तॄन्दे॒वान्स॑वि॒तारं॒ भगं॑ च ॥ (१)

हे देवो! मैं सुख पाने की इच्छा से स्तुतियों के द्वारा अदिति, वरुण, मित्र, अग्नि, शत्रुहंता एवं सेवायोग्य अर्यमा, सविता, भग एवं रक्षा करने वाले सभी देवों को बुलाता हूं. (१)

Oh, God! I call Aditi, Varuna, Mitra, Agni, Shatrughna and all the gods who protect the serviceable Aryama, Savita, Bhaga and protectors through the praises with the desire to find happiness. (1)
त्वं हि क्षैत॑व॒द्यशोऽग्ने॑ मि॒त्रो न पत्य॑से । त्वं वि॑चर्षणे॒ श्रवो॒ वसो॑ पु॒ष्टिं न पु॑ष्यसि ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! तुम सूखी लकड़ियों से युक्त हव्य पर मित्र के समान टूटते हो. हे सबको विशेषरूप से देखने वाले एवं धनस्वामी अग्नि! हमारे अन्न और पुष्टि को बढ़ाओ. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You break like a friend on a havya with dry wood. O agni, especially those who see everyone and are rich! Increase our grain and confirmation. (1)
या त॑ ऊ॒तिर॑व॒मा या प॑र॒मा या म॑ध्य॒मेन्द्र॑ शुष्मि॒न्नस्ति॑ । ताभि॑रू॒ षु वृ॑त्र॒हत्ये॑ऽवीर्न ए॒भिश्च॒ वाजै॑र्म॒हान्न॑ उग्र ॥ (१)

हे बलवान् इंद्र! तुम्हारे जो अधम, मध्यम एवं उत्तम रक्षा-साधन हैं, उनके द्वारा युद्ध में हमारी भली-भांति रक्षा करो. हे उग्र एवं महान् इंद्र! तुम हमें भोजन के साधनरूप अन्न से युक्त करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Balavan Indra! Protect us well in battle through the inferior, medium and best means of protection that you have. O you are fierce and great Indra! You give us food as a means of food. (1)
उदु॒ त्यच्चक्षु॒र्महि॑ मि॒त्रयो॒राँ एति॑ प्रि॒यं वरु॑णयो॒रद॑ब्धम् । ऋ॒तस्य॒ शुचि॑ दर्श॒तमनी॑कं रु॒क्मो न दि॒व उदि॑ता॒ व्य॑द्यौत् ॥ (१)

सूर्य, मित्र एवं वरुण का प्रसिद्ध, प्रकाश करने वाला, विस्तृत, प्रिय, अहिंसित, शुद्ध एवं दर्शनीय तेज सबके सामने ऊपर उठता है एवं आकाश के आभूषण के समान प्रकाशित होता है. (१)

The famous, light-doering, vivid, beloved, non-violent, pure and visible brightness of the sun, friend and Varuna rises up in front of everyone and is illuminated like the ornament of the sky. (1)
अग्ने॒ स क्षे॑षदृत॒पा ऋ॑ते॒जा उ॒रु ज्योति॑र्नशते देव॒युष्टे॑ । यं त्वं मि॒त्रेण॒ वरु॑णः स॒जोषा॒ देव॒ पासि॒ त्यज॑सा॒ मर्त॒मंहः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! यज्ञपालनकर्ता एवं यज्ञ के हेतु जन्म देने वाला यजमान चिरकाल जीवित रहे एवं देवाभिलाषी बनकर तुम्हारी विशाल ज्योति धारण करे. हे अग्नि देव! तुम मित्र एवं वरुण के साथ मिलकर तेज द्वारा पाप से उसकी रक्षा करते हो. (१)

O agni! May the yajna-doer and the host who gives birth for the yagna live forever and be a godly person and hold on to your great light. O God of agni! You, together with friends and Varuna, protect him from sin by tej. (1)
श्रु॒धी न॑ इन्द्र॒ ह्वया॑मसि त्वा म॒हो वाज॑स्य सा॒तौ वा॑वृषा॒णाः । सं यद्विशोऽय॑न्त॒ शूर॑साता उ॒ग्रं नोऽवः॒ पार्ये॒ अह॑न्दाः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम स्तोता तुम्हें सोमरस से सींचते हुए महान् अन्न पाने के लिए बुलाते हैं. तुम हमारी पुकार सुनो. जब लोग युद्ध के लिए जावें, तब हम लोगों की उत्तम रक्षा करना. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We call you to get great food by watering you from somras. You hear our call. When people go to war, we should protect the people better. (1)
यथा॑ होत॒र्मनु॑षो दे॒वता॑ता य॒ज्ञेभिः॑ सूनो सहसो॒ यजा॑सि । ए॒वा नो॑ अ॒द्य स॑म॒ना स॑मा॒नानु॒शन्न॑ग्न उश॒तो य॑क्षि दे॒वान् ॥ (१)

हे देवों को बुलाने वाले एवं बलपुत्र अग्नि! तुमने जिस प्रकार मनुवंशी यजमानों के यज्ञ को हव्यों द्वारा पूर्ण किया था, उसी प्रकार आज यज्ञपात्र देवों को अपने समान समझकर यज्ञ पूरा करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni, the son of the people who call the gods and the son of strength! Just as you completed the yajna of the Manuvanshi hosts through the havans, in the same way, today complete the yajnapatra by considering the devas as your own. (1)
किम॑स्य॒ मदे॒ किम्व॑स्य पी॒ताविन्द्रः॒ किम॑स्य स॒ख्ये च॑कार । रणा॑ वा॒ ये नि॒षदि॒ किं ते अ॑स्य पु॒रा वि॑विद्रे॒ किमु॒ नूत॑नासः ॥ (१)

इंद्र ने सोमरस से प्रसन्न होकर, सोमरस को पीकर एवं इससे मित्रता रखकर क्या काम किया? हे इंद्र! प्राचीन एवं नवीन स्तोताओं ने यज्ञशाला में तुमसे क्या पाया? (१)

What did Indra do by being pleased with Somras, drinking Somras and being friendly with it? O Indra! What did the ancient and new stos find from you in the yajnashala? (1)
न तद्दि॒वा न पृ॑थि॒व्यानु॑ मन्ये॒ न य॒ज्ञेन॒ नोत शमी॑भिरा॒भिः । उ॒ब्जन्तु॒ तं सु॒भ्व१॒ः॑ पर्व॑तासो॒ नि ही॑यतामतिया॒जस्य॑ य॒ष्टा ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं इस यज्ञ को स्वर्ग एवं धरती के देवों के योग्य नहीं मानता. मैं इसे अपने द्वारा अथवा अन्यों द्वारा संपादित यज्ञों के समान भी नहीं समझता. अतियाज के ऋत्विज् अत्यंतहीन बनें एवं सब पर्वत उसे पीड़ा पहुंचावें. (१)
EN English Translation
I do not consider this yajna worthy of the gods of heaven and earth. I don't even think of it as the same as yajnas edited by myself or by others. Let the rituals of the atiyaz be extremely undeserved and let all the mountains torment him. (1)
हु॒वे वः॑ सू॒नुं सह॑सो॒ युवा॑न॒मद्रो॑घवाचं म॒तिभि॒र्यवि॑ष्ठम् । य इन्व॑ति॒ द्रवि॑णानि॒ प्रचे॑ता वि॒श्ववा॑राणि पुरु॒वारो॑ अ॒ध्रुक् ॥ (१)

हम बल के पुत्र, युवक, प्रशंसनीय वाणी द्वारा स्तुतियोग्य, अतिशय-तरुण, उत्तम ज्ञान वाले, बहुतों द्वारा स्तुत एवं यजमानों से द्रोह न करने वाले अग्नि को स्तुतियों द्वारा बुलाते हैं. वे स्तुतिकर्त्ताओं को सर्वप्रिय धन देते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
We call the son of force, the young man, the praiseworthy by praiseworthy voice, the most young, the best of knowledge, praised by many, and the agni that does not betray the hosts by the praises. They give all the favorite money to the praises. (1)
आ गावो॑ अग्मन्नु॒त भ॒द्रम॑क्र॒न्सीद॑न्तु गो॒ष्ठे र॒णय॑न्त्व॒स्मे । प्र॒जाव॑तीः पुरु॒रूपा॑ इ॒ह स्यु॒रिन्द्रा॑य पू॒र्वीरु॒षसो॒ दुहा॑नाः ॥ (१)

गाएं हमारे घर आवें और हमारा कल्याण करें. वे हमारी गोशाला में बैठे एवं हमारे ऊपर प्रसन्न हों. इस गोशाला की तरह-तरह के रंगों वाली गाएं बछड़ों वाली होकर इंद्र के निमित्त प्रातःकाल दूध दें. (१)
EN English Translation
Sing to our house and do us well. Let them sit in our goshala and be pleased with us. In this goshala, cows with different colours are calves and give milk in the morning for Indra. (1)
प्र नव्य॑सा॒ सह॑सः सू॒नुमच्छा॑ य॒ज्ञेन॑ गा॒तुमव॑ इ॒च्छमा॑नः । वृ॒श्चद्व॑नं कृ॒ष्णया॑मं॒ रुश॑न्तं वी॒ती होता॑रं दि॒व्यं जि॑गाति ॥ (१)

अन्न का इच्छुक स्तोता स्तुति योग्य एवं बलपुत्र अग्नि के समीप नवीन यज्ञ के सहित जाता है. अग्नि वन नष्ट करने वाले, काले मार्ग वाले, श्वैतवर्ण, यज्ञयुक्त, होता एवं दिव्य हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The willing hymn of food goes to the praiseworthy and the son of the force goes near the agni along with the new yajna. The agni forests are destroyers, black-tracked, white-coloured, sacrificial, hota and divine. (1)
इन्द्रं॑ वो॒ नरः॑ स॒ख्याय॑ सेपुर्म॒हो यन्तः॑ सुम॒तये॑ चका॒नाः । म॒हो हि दा॒ता वज्र॑हस्तो॒ अस्ति॑ म॒हामु॑ र॒ण्वमव॑से यजध्वम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! तुम्हारे मित्ररूपी ऋत्विज् मित्रता पाने के लिए इंद्र की सेवा करते हैं. वे महान् स्तोत्र बोलते हुए इंद्र की कृपादृष्टि चाहते हैं. हाथ में वज्र धारण करने वाले इंद्र महान् धनदाता हैं. तुम रक्षा के हेतु महान् एवं सुंदर इंद्र की पूजा करो. (१)

O hosts! Your friends serve Indra to find friendship. They want indra's grace while speaking the great hymn. Indra, who holds a thunderbolt in his hand, is a great giver. Worship the great and beautiful Indra for protection. (1)
मू॒र्धानं॑ दि॒वो अ॑र॒तिं पृ॑थि॒व्या वै॑श्वान॒रमृ॒त आ जा॒तम॒ग्निम् । क॒विं स॒म्राज॒मति॑थिं॒ जना॑नामा॒सन्ना पात्रं॑ जनयन्त दे॒वाः ॥ (१)

स्तोताओं ने स्वर्ग के शीश तुल्य, धरती पर चलने वाले, सभी जनों से संबंधित, यज्ञ के निमित्त उत्पन्न, मेधावी, तेजस्वी, यजमानों के यज्ञ के लिए सतत गमनशील, मुख तुल्य एवं रक्षक अग्नि को उत्पन्न किया. (१)
EN English Translation
The Psalms produced the shisha-like agni of heaven, walking on earth, belonging to all people, generated for the sake of yajna, meritorious, brilliant, continuously moving, facelike and protective agni for the yajna of hosts. (1)
व॒यमु॑ त्वा पथस्पते॒ रथं॒ न वाज॑सातये । धि॒ये पू॑षन्नयुज्महि ॥ (१)

हे मार्गपालक पूषा! हम अन्नलाभ एवं यज्ञपूर्ति के लिए तुम्हें युद्ध में रथ के समान अपने सामने करते हैं. (१)

O guiding Father! We make you like a chariot in battle for the sake of food and sacrifice. (1)
भूय॒ इद्वा॑वृधे वी॒र्या॑य॒ँ एको॑ अजु॒र्यो द॑यते॒ वसू॑नि । प्र रि॑रिचे दि॒व इन्द्रः॑ पृथि॒व्या अ॒र्धमिद॑स्य॒ प्रति॒ रोद॑सी उ॒भे ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र वीरतापूर्ण-कार्य करने के लिए बार-बार बढ़े हैं. प्रमुख एवं जरारहित इंद्र स्तोताओं को धन देते हैं एवं धरती-आकाश से भी बढ़कर हैं. इनका आधा भाग ही धरती-आकाश के बराबर है. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra has risen repeatedly to do heroic work. The major and slightly less Indra gives wealth to the stomatas and is more than the earth and the sky. Only half of them is equal to the earth and the sky. (1)
अभू॒रेको॑ रयिपते रयी॒णामा हस्त॑योरधिथा इन्द्र कृ॒ष्टीः । वि तो॒के अ॒प्सु तन॑ये च॒ सूरेऽवो॑चन्त चर्ष॒णयो॒ विवा॑चः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनपति इंद्र! तुम धनों के एकमात्र स्वामी हो. हे इंद्र! तुम अपने दोनों हाथों में प्रजा ओं को धारण करते हो. प्रजाएं, पुत्र, जल एवं वीर पुत्र पाने के निमित्त हम तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं. (१)

O Rich God Indra! You are the sole master of wealth. O Indra! You hold the people in both your hands. We praise you for having people, sons, water and brave sons. (1)
पृ॒क्षस्य॒ वृष्णो॑ अरु॒षस्य॒ नू सहः॒ प्र नु वो॑चं वि॒दथा॑ जा॒तवे॑दसः । वै॒श्वा॒न॒राय॑ म॒तिर्नव्य॑सी॒ शुचिः॒ सोम॑ इव पवते॒ चारु॑र॒ग्नये॑ ॥ (१)

हम यज्ञ में व्याप्त, कामवर्षी, तेजस्वी एवं जातवेद अग्नि की शक्तियों का वर्णन करते हैं. वैश्वानर अग्नि के लिए नवीन एवं पवित्र स्तुतियां सोमरस के समान उत्पन्न होती हैं. (१)

We describe the powers of the kamavarshi, the tejaswi and the jataveda agni that are pervaded in the yajna. New and holy hymns for the Vaishvanar Agni are generated like somras. (1)
सं पू॑षन्वि॒दुषा॑ नय॒ यो अञ्ज॑सानु॒शास॑ति । य ए॒वेदमिति॒ ब्रव॑त् ॥ (१)

हे पूषा! हमें ऐसे विद्वान् से मिलाओ जो हमें सरल मार्ग की शिक्षा दे एवं नष्ट धन को बतावे. (१)

O God! Meet us with a scholar who teaches us the simple way and tells us the lost wealth. (1)
अपू॑र्व्या पुरु॒तमा॑न्यस्मै म॒हे वी॒राय॑ त॒वसे॑ तु॒राय॑ । वि॒र॒प्शिने॑ व॒ज्रिणे॒ शंत॑मानि॒ वचां॑स्या॒सा स्थवि॑राय तक्षम् ॥ (१)

हमने महान्, वीर, शक्तिशाली, शीघ्रता करने वाले, विशेषरूप से स्तुतियोग्य, वज्रधारी एवं उन्नत इंद्र के लिए अपने मुखों के द्वारा अनोखी, बड़ी एवं सुखकारक स्तुतियां की हैं. (१)

We have made unique, great and pleasing praises through our mouths for the great, heroic, powerful, swift, especially praiseworthy, thunderous and advanced Indra. (1)
अह॑श्च कृ॒ष्णमह॒रर्जु॑नं च॒ वि व॑र्तेते॒ रज॑सी वे॒द्याभिः॑ । वै॒श्वा॒न॒रो जाय॑मानो॒ न राजावा॑तिर॒ज्ज्योति॑षा॒ग्निस्तमां॑सि ॥ (१)

काली रात और उजला दिन अपनी प्रवृत्तियों द्वारा धरती व आकाश को पृथकू करते हैं. वैश्वानर अग्नि तेजस्वी के समान उत्पन्न होकर अपने प्रकाश से अंधकार का नाश करते हैं. (१)

Black night and bright days separate the earth and the sky by their instincts. Vaishnavars create like a agni of brightness and destroy the darkness with their light. (1)
य ओजि॑ष्ठ इन्द्र॒ तं सु नो॑ दा॒ मदो॑ वृषन्स्वभि॒ष्टिर्दास्वा॑न् । सौव॑श्व्यं॒ यो व॒नव॒त्स्वश्वो॑ वृ॒त्रा स॒मत्सु॑ सा॒सह॑द॒मित्रा॑न् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र! हमें अतिशय शक्तिशाली, स्तुतियों द्वारा तुम्हें प्रसन्न करने वाला, शोभन यज्ञ करने वाला व हव्यदाता पुत्र भली प्रकार दो. वह पुत्र सुंदर घोड़े पर सवार होकर संग्राम में शत्रुओं के सुंदर घोड़ों को मारे एवं शत्रुओं को पराजित करे. (१)

Oh, this desireful Indra! Give us a very powerful, a son who pleases you by praises, who performs a glorious yagna, and a wise giver. The son should ride on a beautiful horse and kill the beautiful horses of the enemies in the battle and defeat the enemies. (1)
एहि॒ वां वि॑मुचो नपा॒दाघृ॑णे॒ सं स॑चावहै । र॒थीरृ॒तस्य॑ नो भव ॥ (१)

O Radiant and Prajapatiputra Pooja! Come your stota to me. We both meet. You be the protector of our yajna. (1)
पु॒रो वो॑ म॒न्द्रं दि॒व्यं सु॑वृ॒क्तिं प्र॑य॒ति य॒ज्ञे अ॒ग्निम॑ध्व॒रे द॑धिध्वम् । पु॒र उ॒क्थेभिः॒ स हि नो॑ वि॒भावा॑ स्वध्व॒रा क॑रति जा॒तवे॑दाः ॥ (१)

हे ऋत्विजो! तुम वर्तमान एवं बाधारहित यज्ञ में प्रसन्नताकारक दिव्य एवं दोषरहित अग्नि को स्तोत्रपाठ करते हुए अपने सामने स्थापित करो, क्योंकि विशेष दीप्तिशाली अग्नि हमारे यज्ञों को शोभन बनाते हैं. (१)

Hey Ritvijo! You install in front of you in the present and unhindered yajna by reciting the joyous divine and flawless agni in front of you, because the special radiant agnis adorn our yajnas. (1)

O Indra! There are many words of praise in you. The broad ideologies of the psalms emanate from you. The praises, mantras and worship of ancient and present sages are more than each other about Indra. (1)
