ए॒षा स्या नो॑ दुहि॒ता दि॑वो॒जाः क्षि॒तीरु॒च्छन्ती॒ मानु॑षीरजीगः । या भा॒नुना॒ रुश॑ता रा॒म्यास्वज्ञा॑यि ति॒रस्तम॑सश्चिद॒क्तून् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्वर्ग से उत्पन्न, अतएव स्वर्ग की पुत्री उषा हमारे कल्याण के लिए अंधकार मिटाती हुई मानवी प्रजाओं को प्रकाशित करती है. यह चमकीली किरणों के द्वारा रात्रि के अंत में तेजस्वी तारों एवं अंधकार को तिरस्कृत करती हुई दिखाई देती है. (१)
EN English Translation
Born from heaven, usha, the daughter of heaven, enlightens the human beings, wiping out darkness for our welfare. It is seen despised by bright rays at the end of the night with bright stars and darkness. (1)
वि तद्य॑युररुण॒युग्भि॒रश्वै॑श्चि॒त्रं भा॑न्त्यु॒षस॑श्च॒न्द्रर॑थाः । अग्रं॑ य॒ज्ञस्य॑ बृह॒तो नय॑न्ती॒र्वि ता बा॑धन्ते॒ तम॒ ऊर्म्या॑याः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
चमकीले रथ वाली उषाएं प्रातःकाल विशालयज्ञ का प्रथम भाग पूरा करती हुई, लाल रंग वाले घोड़ों की सहायता से विस्तृत गमन करती हैं, विचित्र रूप से शोभा पाती हैं तथा रात के अंधेरे को समाप्त करती हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The bright charioted ushas complete the first part of the prahadayagya in the morning, with the help of red horses, make a wide walk, adorn strangely and end the darkness of the night. (2)
श्रवो॒ वाज॒मिष॒मूर्जं॒ वह॑न्ती॒र्नि दा॒शुष॑ उषसो॒ मर्त्या॑य । म॒घोनी॑र्वी॒रव॒त्पत्य॑माना॒ अवो॑ धात विध॒ते रत्न॑म॒द्य ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषाओ! तुम हव्य देने वाले मनुष्य को कीर्ति, बल, अन्न और रस धारण कराती हुई धन स्वामिनी एवं गतिशील बनती हो. आज मुझ सेवक को पुत्र-पौत्र युक्त अन्न एवं रत्न दो. (३)
EN English Translation
Oh, Usho! You become a wealth owner and a dynamic by giving fame, strength, food and juice to the man who gives the havya. Today, give my servant food and gemstones with sons and grandsons. (3)
इ॒दा हि वो॑ विध॒ते रत्न॒मस्ती॒दा वी॒राय॑ दा॒शुष॑ उषासः । इ॒दा विप्रा॑य॒ जर॑ते॒ यदु॒क्था नि ष्म॒ माव॑ते वहथा पु॒रा चि॑त् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषाओ! तुम्हारे पास अपने सेवक को इसी समय देने के लिए धन है एवं वीर हव्यदाताओं को इसी समय देने के लिए धन है. बुद्धिमान् स्तोता को इसी समय देने के लिए तुम्हारे पास धन है. मुझ जैसे उवथ मंत्र जानने वाले के लिए तुम पहले के समान धन दो. (४)
EN English Translation
Oh, Usho! You have the money to give to your servant at this time and you have the money to give to the brave devotees at this time. You have the money to give the wise hymn at this time. For those who know the uwath mantra like me, give you the same wealth as before. (4)
इ॒दा हि त॑ उषो अद्रिसानो गो॒त्रा गवा॒मङ्गि॑रसो गृ॒णन्ति॑ । व्य१॒॑र्केण॑ बिभिदु॒र्ब्रह्म॑णा च स॒त्या नृ॒णाम॑भवद्दे॒वहू॑तिः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पर्वत की चोटियों का आदर करने वाली उषा! अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों ने तुम्हारी कृपा से गायों का समूह तुरंत प्राप्त किया एवं आदरणीय स्तोत्र द्वारा अंधकारों का विनाश किया. नेतारूप अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों की देवविषयक स्तुति सत्य हुई थी. (५)
EN English Translation
O Usha, who reveres the peaks of the mountain! The Angiragotrian sages, by your grace, immediately received a group of cows and destroyed the darkness by the venerable hymn. The divine praise of the sages of netarupa angiragotrian sages was true. (5)
उ॒च्छा दि॑वो दुहितः प्रत्न॒वन्नो॑ भरद्वाज॒वद्वि॑ध॒ते म॑घोनि । सु॒वीरं॑ र॒यिं गृ॑ण॒ते रि॑रीह्युरुगा॒यमधि॑ धेहि॒ श्रवो॑ नः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्वर्ग पुत्री उषा! पुराने लोगों के समान हमारे लिए भी तुम अंधेरा दूर करो. हे धन- स्वामिनी उषाओ! भरद्वाज के समान सेवा एवं स्तुति करने वाले मुझको पुत्र-पौत्रों से युक्त धन दो. हमें बहुतों द्वारा अभिलषित-अन्न अधिक मात्रा में दो. (६)
EN English Translation
O daughter of heaven, Usha! Just like the old ones for us also you remove the darkness. O wealth- Mistress Usho! Give me wealth with sons and grandsons who serve and praise like Bhardwaj. Give us more food than we have been absorbed by many. (6)
