श्रु॒ष्टी वां॑ य॒ज्ञ उद्य॑तः स॒जोषा॑ मनु॒ष्वद्वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषो॒ यज॑ध्यै । आ य इन्द्रा॒वरु॑णावि॒षे अ॒द्य म॒हे सु॒म्नाय॑ म॒ह आ॑व॒वर्त॑त् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे महान् इंद्र व वरुण! आज यज्ञ में ऋत्विजों द्वारा तुम्हारे निमित्त वही सोमरस तैयार किया गया है, जो मनु के समान यजमान द्वारा कुश बिछाने के पश्चात् महान् एवं सुख के लिए किया जाता है. (१)
EN English Translation
O great Indra and Varun! Today in the yajna, the same somras have been prepared for you by the ritvijas, which is done for greatness and happiness after the kush is laid by the host like Manu. (1)
ता हि श्रेष्ठा॑ दे॒वता॑ता तु॒जा शूरा॑णां॒ शवि॑ष्ठा॒ ता हि भू॒तम् । म॒घोनां॒ मंहि॑ष्ठा तुवि॒शुष्म॑ ऋ॒तेन॑ वृत्र॒तुरा॒ सर्व॑सेना ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र व वरुण! तुम श्रेष्ठ, यज्ञ में धन देने वाले एवं शूरों में अतिशय शक्तिशाली हो. तुम दानकर्त्ताओं में अति महान्, अतिशय बलयुक्त, सत्य द्वारा शत्रुओं की हिंसा करने वाले एवं सभी सेनाओं के स्वामी हो. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Varun! You are the best, the giver of wealth in the yagna and the most powerful of the knights. You are the greatest of the donors, the most powerful, the one who commits the violence of enemies by the truth, and the master of all armies. (2)
ता गृ॑णीहि नम॒स्ये॑भिः शू॒षैः सु॒म्नेभि॒रिन्द्रा॒वरु॑णा चका॒ना । वज्रे॑णा॒न्यः शव॑सा॒ हन्ति॑ वृ॒त्रं सिष॑क्त्य॒न्यो वृ॒जने॑षु॒ विप्रः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे भरद्वाज! स्तुतियोग्य, शक्तिशालियों व सुखी लोगों द्वारा प्रशंसित इंद्र एवं वरुण की स्तुति करो. इन में एक वज्र द्वारा वृत्र को मारता है और दूसरा बुद्धिमान् शक्ति द्वारा स्तोताओं के उपद्रवों में रक्षक बनता है. (३)
EN English Translation
O bharadwaj! Praise Indra and Varuna, admired by the worthy, powerful and happy people. In these, one kills the vritra by a thunderbolt and the other becomes a protector in the disturbances of the hymns by the wise power. (3)
ग्नाश्च॒ यन्नर॑श्च वावृ॒धन्त॒ विश्वे॑ दे॒वासो॑ न॒रां स्वगू॑र्ताः । प्रैभ्य॑ इन्द्रावरुणा महि॒त्वा द्यौश्च॑ पृथिवि भूतमु॒र्वी ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं वरुण! मनुष्यों में स्त्रियां और पुरुष एवं सब देव स्वयं तत्पर होकर जब स्तुतियों द्वारा तुम्हारी वृद्धि करते हैं, तब तुम इन स्तोताओं के स्वामी बनो. हे द्यावा-पृथ्वी! तुम भी इनके स्वामी बनो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Varuna! Women and men among men and all the gods themselves, when they increase you with praises, then be the masters of these hymns. This is the earth! You too become their master. (4)
स इत्सु॒दानुः॒ स्ववा॑ँ ऋ॒तावेन्द्रा॒ यो वां॑ वरुण॒ दाश॑ति॒ त्मन् । इ॒षा स द्वि॒षस्त॑रे॒द्दास्वा॒न्वंस॑द्र॒यिं र॑यि॒वत॑श्च॒ जना॑न् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं वरुण! जो यजमान अपने आप तुम्हें हव्य देता है, वह शोभनदान वाला, धनवान् एवं यज्ञकर्ता बने. ऐसा दाता जयशील शत्रु से जीतता है एवं धन के साथ संपत्तिशाली-पुत्र प्राप्त करता है. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Varuna! The host who gives you the havya on his own, he will become a benefactor, a rich man and a yajnakarta. Such a giver conquers the glorious enemy and receives a wealthy-son with wealth. (5)
यं यु॒वं दा॒श्व॑ध्वराय देवा र॒यिं ध॒त्थो वसु॑मन्तं पुरु॒क्षुम् । अ॒स्मे स इ॑न्द्रावरुणा॒वपि॑ ष्या॒त्प्र यो भ॒नक्ति॑ व॒नुषा॒मश॑स्तीः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं वरुण देवो! तुम हव्य देने वाले यजमान को सपंत्ति एवं बहुविध अन्न वाला जो धन देते हो, शत्रुओं संबंधी अपयश को मिटाने वाला वही धन हमें दो. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Varun Devo! Give us the money that you give to the host who gives the hawais, the money that you give with wealth and multiple food, the same money that will eliminate the failure of enemies. (6)
उ॒त नः॑ सुत्रा॒त्रो दे॒वगो॑पाः सू॒रिभ्य॑ इन्द्रावरुणा र॒यिः ष्या॑त् । येषां॒ शुष्मः॒ पृत॑नासु सा॒ह्वान्प्र स॒द्यो द्यु॒म्ना ति॒रते॒ ततु॑रिः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं वरुण! हम स्तोताओं को सुरक्षित व देवों द्वारा रक्षित धन दो. हमारा बल युद्धों में शत्रुओं को पराजित एवं हिंसित करके उनके यशों का शीघ्र तिरस्कार करे. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Varuna! Let us give the hymns the money secured and protected by the gods. Let our force quickly despise the successes of the enemies by defeating and defending them in wars. (7)
नू न॑ इन्द्रावरुणा गृणा॒ना पृ॒ङ्क्तं र॒यिं सौ॑श्रव॒साय॑ देवा । इ॒त्था गृ॒णन्तो॑ म॒हिन॑स्य॒ शर्धो॒ऽपो न ना॒वा दु॑रि॒ता त॑रेम ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं वरुण देवो! तुम हमारी स्तुति सुनकर हमें शोभन अन्न के लिए धन दो. हम महान् कहकर तुम्हारे बल की स्तुति करते हैं. जैसे लोग नाव के सहारे जल को पार करते हैं, उसी प्रकार हम पापों से पार हों. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Varun Devo! You hear our praise and give us wealth for the soothing food. We praise your strength by saying great. Just as people cross the water by boat, so we cross sins. (8)
प्र स॒म्राजे॑ बृह॒ते मन्म॒ नु प्रि॒यमर्च॑ दे॒वाय॒ वरु॑णाय स॒प्रथः॑ । अ॒यं य उ॒र्वी म॑हि॒ना महि॑व्रतः॒ क्रत्वा॑ वि॒भात्य॒जरो॒ न शो॒चिषा॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोता! राजाओं के शासक एवं विराट वरुण देव के निमित्त प्रिय एवं सभी प्रकार विशाल स्तोत्र पढ़ो. वे महत्त्वयुक्त, महान् कर्मो वाले, बुद्धिमान्, तेजस्वी एवं जरारहित होने के साथ-साथ धरती-आकाश को प्रकाशित करते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
This is the hymn! Read all kinds of huge hymns, beloved and dear to the great Varuna Dev, the ruler of the kings. They are important, with great deeds, intelligent, bright and unworthy, as well as illuminate the earth and the sky. (9)
इन्द्रा॑वरुणा सुतपावि॒मं सु॒तं सोमं॑ पिबतं॒ मद्यं॑ धृतव्रता । यु॒वो रथो॑ अध्व॒रं दे॒ववी॑तये॒ प्रति॒ स्वस॑र॒मुप॑ याति पी॒तये॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोमकर्ता इंद्र एवं वरुण! इस नशीले एवं निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को पिओ. हे ब्रतधारको! तुम्हारा रथ देवों के साथ सोमपान के निमित्त यज्ञ के मार्ग पर बढ़ता है. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Somakars Indra and Varuna! Drink this intoxicating and squeezed somras. O brittadharko! Your chariot grows on the path of yajna for the sake of sompan with the gods. (10)
इन्द्रा॑वरुणा॒ मधु॑मत्तमस्य॒ वृष्णः॒ सोम॑स्य वृष॒णा वृ॑षेथाम् । इ॒दं वा॒मन्धः॒ परि॑षिक्तम॒स्मे आ॒सद्या॒स्मिन्ब॒र्हिषि॑ मादयेथाम् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कामवर्षी इंद्र व वरुण! तुम अतिशय मधुर, अभिलाषापूरक एवं वृद्धिकर्तता सोम का पान करो. हमने यह सोमरूप अन्न तुम्हारे लिए ही पात्रों में रखा. इन कुशों पर बैठकर सोमपान से प्रसन्न बनो. (११)
EN English Translation
O kamvarshi Indra and Varun! Drink the most sweet, wishful and uplifting mon. We put this somrup grain in the same containers for you. Be happy with sompan sitting on these kushas. (11)
