क ईं॒ व्य॑क्ता॒ नरः॒ सनी॑ळा रु॒द्रस्य॒ मर्या॒ अध॒ स्वश्वाः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ये कांतियुक्त नेता, एक घर में रहने वाले, महादेव के पुत्र, मानवहितकारी एवं शोभन अश्वो वाले मरुद्गण कौन हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Who are these kantiyukta leaders, living in a house, sons of Mahadeva, the marudgans of man-hit and shobhan ashwas? (1)
नकि॒र्ह्ये॑षां ज॒नूंषि॒ वेद॒ ते अ॒ङ्ग वि॑द्रे मि॒थो ज॒नित्र॑म् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इनके जन्मों को कोई नहीं जानता, अपने जन्म की बात वे मरुत् ही आपस में जानते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
No one knows their births, they know their births among themselves. (2)
अ॒भि स्व॒पूभि॑र्मि॒थो व॑पन्त॒ वात॑स्वनसः श्ये॒ना अ॑स्पृध्रन् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुत् अपने संचरणों के द्वारा आपस में मिलते हैं. ये हवा के समान तेज उड़ने वाले बाजों के समान आपस में स्पर्धा करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
The deserts meet through their transmissions. They compete among themselves like hawks flying as fast as the wind. (3)
ए॒तानि॒ धीरो॑ नि॒ण्या चि॑केत॒ पृश्नि॒र्यदूधो॑ म॒ही ज॒भार॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
धीर व्यक्ति इन सर्वांगश्वेत मरुतों को जानते हैं. पृश्नि ने इन्हें अंतरिक्ष में धारण किया था. (४)
EN English Translation
Patient people know these omnipotent maruts. The earth held them in space. (4)
सा विट् सु॒वीरा॑ म॒रुद्भि॑रस्तु स॒नात्सह॑न्ती॒ पुष्य॑न्ती नृ॒म्णम् ॥ (५)

वह प्रजा मरुतों के कारण चिरकाल से शत्रुओं को हराती हुई धन को पुष्ट करने वाली एवं शोभनपुत्रों वाली हो. (५)
EN English Translation
She is the one who has been a protector of wealth and adornment of wealth, defeating the enemies for eternity because of the people maruts. (5)
यामं॒ येष्ठाः॑ शु॒भा शोभि॑ष्ठाः श्रि॒या सम्मि॑श्ला॒ ओजो॑भिरु॒ग्राः ॥ (६)

मरुत् जाने योग्य स्थानों को सबसे अधिक जाते हैं, अलंकारों से बहुत अधिक सुशोभित हैं, शोभायुक्त एवं ओजों से उग्र हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Most of the places that are deserted, are adorned with ornaments, adorned with ornaments, adorned with ornaments and fierce with oozes. (6)
उ॒ग्रं व॒ ओजः॑ स्थि॒रा शवां॒स्यधा॑ म॒रुद्भि॑र्ग॒णस्तुवि॑ष्मान् ॥ (७)

हे मरुतो! तुम्हारा तेज उग्र और बल स्थित हो. तुम बुद्धि वाले बनो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Yours are sharply furious and force-located. You become wise. (7)
शु॒भ्रो वः॒ शुष्मः॒ क्रुध्मी॒ मनां॑सि॒ धुनि॒र्मुनि॑रिव॒ शर्ध॑स्य धृ॒ष्णोः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम्हारा बल सब ओर शोभा वाला एवं तुम्हारे मन क्रोधपूर्ण हैं. शत्रु पराभवकारी एवं शक्तिशाली मरुद्गण का वेग स्तोता के समान अनेक प्रकार का शब्द करता है. (८)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Your strength is adorned everywhere and your mind is angry. The velocity of enemy defeators and powerful deserts makes many kinds of words similar to that of stota. (8)
सने॑म्य॒स्मद्यु॒योत॑ दि॒द्युं मा वो॑ दुर्म॒तिरि॒ह प्रण॑ङ्नः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! पुराने आयुध हमारे पास से अलग करो. तुम्हारी क्रूरमति हमें व्याप्त न करे. (९)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Separate the old armament from us. Don't let your cruelty permeate us. (9)
प्रि॒या वो॒ नाम॑ हुवे तु॒राणा॒मा यत्तृ॒पन्म॑रुतो वावशा॒नाः ॥ (१०)

हे शीघ्रता करने वाले मरुतो! तुम्हारे प्यारे नाम हम पुकारते हैं. अभिलाषापूरक मरुद्गण इससे तृप्त होते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O you who hurry, Maruto! Your beloved name we call. The desireful deserts are satisfied with it. (10)
स्वा॒यु॒धास॑ इ॒ष्मिणः॑ सुनि॒ष्का उ॒त स्व॒यं त॒न्व१॒ः॑ शुम्भ॑मानाः ॥ (११)

शोभन आयुधों वाले, गतिशील एवं सुंदर अलंकारों वाले मरुद्गण अपने शरीरों को सजाते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
Deserts with adorning ordnances, dynamic and beautiful ornaments decorate their bodies. (11)
शुची॑ वो ह॒व्या म॑रुतः॒ शुची॑नां॒ शुचिं॑ हिनोम्यध्व॒रं शुचि॑भ्यः । ऋ॒तेन॑ स॒त्यमृ॑त॒साप॑ आय॒ञ्छुचि॑जन्मानः॒ शुच॑यः पाव॒काः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम शुद्धों के लिए शुद्ध हव्य हो. तुम शुद्धों के लिए मैं शुद्ध यज्ञ करता हूं. जल को छूने वाले मरुत् सत्य को प्राप्त करते हैं. शुद्ध जल वाले एवं शुद्ध मरुद्गण दूसरों को भी शुद्ध करते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! You are pure for the pure. I perform pure yajna for you pure. Those who touch the water attain the truth. Pure water and pure deserts purify others as well. (12)
अंसे॒ष्वा म॑रुतः खा॒दयो॑ वो॒ वक्ष॑स्सु रु॒क्मा उ॑पशिश्रिया॒णाः । वि वि॒द्युतो॒ न वृ॒ष्टिभी॑ रुचा॒ना अनु॑ स्व॒धामायु॑धै॒र्यच्छ॑मानाः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम्हारे कंधों पर खादि नामक अलंकार तथा सीनों पर उत्तम हार विराजमान हैं. जैसे वर्षा करने वाले मेघों के साथ बिजली शोभा देती है, उसी प्रकार जल प्रदान के समय बुम भी अपने आयुधों से सुशोभित होते हो. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! On your shoulders are adorned with a decoration called Khadi and on the scenes are the best necklaces. Just as electricity adorns with rainy clouds, so the booms are also adorned with their armaments when providing water. (13)
प्र बु॒ध्न्या॑ व ईरते॒ महां॑सि॒ प्र नामा॑नि प्रयज्यवस्तिरध्वम् । स॒ह॒स्रियं॒ दम्यं॑ भा॒गमे॒तं गृ॑हमे॒धीयं॑ मरुतो जुषध्वम् ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! अंतरिक्ष में उत्पन्न होने वाले तुम्हारे तेज विशेषरूप से गति करते हैं. हे विशेष यज्ञपात्र मरुतो! तुम जलों को बढ़ाओ. हे मरुतो! गृहस्वामियों द्वारा दिए गए घर में उत्पन्न एवं हजार संख्या वाले यज्ञ का एक भाग सेवन करो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Those that arise in space make your speed especially speed. O special sacrificial maruto! You raise the waters. O Maruto! Consume a portion of the yajna generated in the house given by the householders and with a thousand numbers. (14)
यदि॑ स्तु॒तस्य॑ मरुतो अधी॒थेत्था विप्र॑स्य वा॒जिनो॒ हवी॑मन् । म॒क्षू रा॒यः सु॒वीर्य॑स्य दात॒ नू चि॒द्यम॒न्य आ॒दभ॒दरा॑वा ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम अन्नयुक्त मेधावी स्तोता के हव्यसहित स्तोत्र को जानते हो. इसलिए उस शोभनपुत्र वाले को शीघ्र धन दो. शत्रु उस धन को नष्ट न करें. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! You know the rich hymns with food grains. So give the money to that son of Shobhanputra quickly. Don't let the enemy destroy that money. (15)
अत्या॑सो॒ न ये म॒रुतः॒ स्वञ्चो॑ यक्ष॒दृशो॒ न शु॒भय॑न्त॒ मर्याः॑ । ते ह॑र्म्ये॒ष्ठाः शिश॑वो॒ न शु॒भ्रा व॒त्सासो॒ न प्र॑क्री॒ळिनः॑ पयो॒धाः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो मरुद्गण सतत गतिशील घोड़े के समान शोभनगति वाले, उत्सव देखने वाले, मनुष्यों के समान शोभाशाली एवं घर में रहने वाले बच्चों के समान शोभित हैं, वे खेलते हुए बालकों के समान एवं जल धारणकर्तता हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
The deserts, who are as well-versed as a constantly moving horse, who see festivals, are as glorious as human beings, and as well as children living in the house, they are like children playing and holding water. (16)
द॒श॒स्यन्तो॑ नो म॒रुतो॑ मृळन्तु वरिव॒स्यन्तो॒ रोद॑सी सु॒मेके॑ । आ॒रे गो॒हा नृ॒हा व॒धो वो॑ अस्तु सु॒म्नेभि॑र॒स्मे व॑सवो नमध्वम् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
संपत्तियां देते हुए एवं अपनी महिमा से सुंदर द्यावा-पृथिवी को पूर्ण करते हुए मरुद्गण हमें सुखी करें. हे मरुतो! तुम्हारा मानवनाशक एवं गोनाशक आयुध हमसे दूर रहे. हे वासदाता मरुतो! तुम सुखों के साथ हमारे सामने आओ. (१७)
EN English Translation
May the deserts make us happy by giving us properties and fulfilling the beautiful dyava-prithvivi with their glory. O Maruto! May your anti-human and anti-cow slaughter weapon stay away from us. O God of Worshiper, Maruto! You come before us with pleasures. (17)
आ वो॒ होता॑ जोहवीति स॒त्तः स॒त्राचीं॑ रा॒तिं म॑रुतो गृणा॒नः । य ईव॑तो वृषणो॒ अस्ति॑ गो॒पाः सो अद्व॑यावी हवते व उ॒क्थैः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! यज्ञशाला में बैठा हुआ होता तुम्हारे सब जगह जाने वाले दान की प्रशंसा करता हुआ तुम्हें बार-बार बुलाता है. हे अभिलाषापूरक मरुतो! जो यज्ञकर्ता यजमान का रक्षक है, वह होता मायारहित होकर स्तोत्रं द्वारा तुम्हारी प्रशंसा करता है. (१८)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Sitting in the yajnashala, he calls you again and again, praising your donations that go everywhere. This wish-filled Maruto! The yajnakar who is the protector of the host, he is mayaless and praises you through the hymns. (18)
इ॒मे तु॒रं म॒रुतो॑ रामयन्ती॒मे सहः॒ सह॑स॒ आ न॑मन्ति । इ॒मे शंसं॑ वनुष्य॒तो नि पा॑न्ति गु॒रु द्वेषो॒ अर॑रुषे दधन्ति ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ये मरुद्गण शीपघ्रतापूर्वक यज्ञ करने वाले यजमान को प्रसन्न करते हैं एवं शक्तिशाली लोगों को शक्ति द्वारा झुकाते हैं. ये स्तोता को हिंसकों से बचाते हैं, पर हव्य न देने वाले मनुष्य के प्रति बहुत द्वेष रखते हैं. (१९)
EN English Translation
These deserts happily appease the host who performs the yajna with great pride and bow down to the powerful by power. They protect the stota from the violent, but have great hatred for the man who does not give the right. (19)
इ॒मे र॒ध्रं चि॑न्म॒रुतो॑ जुनन्ति॒ भृमिं॑ चि॒द्यथा॒ वस॑वो जु॒षन्त॑ । अप॑ बाधध्वं वृषण॒स्तमां॑सि ध॒त्त विश्वं॒ तन॑यं तो॒कम॒स्मे ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ये मरुद्गण धनी और निर्धन दोनों को प्रेरणा देते हैं. हे वासदाता एवं कामपूरक मरुतो! देवगण जैसा चाहते हैं, उसी के अनुसार तुम अंधकार मिटाओ तथा हमें अधिक मात्रा में पुत्र- पौत्र दो. (२०)
EN English Translation
These deserts inspire both the rich and the poor. O god of worship and full of work, Maruto! As the gods will, you remove the darkness and give us more sons and grandsons. (20)
मा वो॑ दा॒त्रान्म॑रुतो॒ निर॑राम॒ मा प॒श्चाद्द॑घ्म रथ्यो विभा॒गे । आ नः॑ स्पा॒र्हे भ॑जतना वस॒व्ये॒३॒॑ यदीं॑ सुजा॒तं वृ॑षणो वो॒ अस्ति॑ ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! हम तुम्हारे दान की सीमा से बाहर न रहें. हे रथस्वामी मरुतो! धन बांटते समय हमें पीछे मत रखना एवं चाहने योग्य धनों का स्वामी बनाना. हे अभिलाषापूरक मरुतो! तुम हमें अपने शोभन उत्पत्ति वाले धन का भागी बनाना, (२१)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! We don't stay outside the limits of your donations. O Chariotemer Maruto! Don't leave us behind while distributing money and make us masters of the desired wealth. This wish-filled Maruto! You must make us partakers of your wealth of glorious origin, (21)
सं यद्धन॑न्त म॒न्युभि॒र्जना॑सः॒ शूरा॑ य॒ह्वीष्वोष॑धीषु वि॒क्षु । अध॑ स्मा नो मरुतो रुद्रियासस्त्रा॒तारो॑ भूत॒ पृत॑नास्व॒र्यः ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे रुद्रपुत्र मरुतो! जिस समय शूर लोग युद्ध में अनेक ओषधियों एवं प्रजा को जीतने के लिए क्रोधयुक्त होते हैं, उस समय तुम शत्रुओं से हमारी रक्षा करना. (२२)
EN English Translation
O Rudraputra Maruto! At the time when the Brave are angry to conquer many drugs and people in battle, you must protect us from your enemies. (22)
भूरि॑ चक्र मरुतः॒ पित्र्या॑ण्यु॒क्थानि॒ या वः॑ श॒स्यन्ते॑ पु॒रा चि॑त् । म॒रुद्भि॑रु॒ग्रः पृत॑नासु॒ साळ्हा॑ म॒रुद्भि॒रित्सनि॑ता॒ वाज॒मर्वा॑ ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुमने हमारे पितरों के कल्याण के लिए बहुत से काम किए थे. तुम्हारे जिन प्राचीन कार्यो की प्रशंसा की जाती है, उन्हें भी तुम्हीं ने किया था. तुम्हारी सहायता से तेजस्वी लोग युद्ध में शत्रुओं को हराते हैं एवं स्तोता अन्न प्राप्त करता है. (२३)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! You did a lot of work for the welfare of our fathers. The ancient works that are praised by you were also done by you. With your help, the brilliant people defeat the enemies in the war and the stota gets food. (23)
अ॒स्मे वी॒रो म॑रुतः शु॒ष्म्य॑स्तु॒ जना॑नां॒ यो असु॑रो विध॒र्ता । अ॒पो येन॑ सुक्षि॒तये॒ तरे॒माध॒ स्वमोको॑ अ॒भि वः॑ स्याम ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! हमारा पुत्र शक्तिशाली हो. वह बुद्धिमान् एवं शत्रुओं को सहन करने वाला हो. हम शोभननिवास पाने के लिए उसकी सहायता से शन्रुओं को वश में करेंगे एवं तुम्हारी आत्मीयता का स्थान प्राप्त करेंगे. (२४)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Our son is powerful. He is wise and bears enemies. We will subdue the Shanrus with his help to gain comfort and get the place of your intimacy. (24)
तन्न॒ इन्द्रो॒ वरु॑णो मि॒त्रो अ॒ग्निराप॒ ओष॑धीर्व॒निनो॑ जुषन्त । शर्म॑न्स्याम म॒रुता॑मु॒पस्थे॑ यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र, वरुण, मित्र, अग्नि, जल, ओषधियां एवं वृक्ष हमारे स्तोत्र को सुनें. मरुतों के समीप रहकर हम सुखी रहेंगे. हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (२५)
EN English Translation
Indra, Varuna, friends, agni, water, herbs and trees listen to our hymns. We will be happy to be near the maruts. Oh, God! You always protect us by means of welfare. (25)
