उदु॒ ज्योति॑र॒मृतं॑ वि॒श्वज॑न्यं वि॒श्वान॑रः सवि॒ता दे॒वो अ॑श्रेत् । क्रत्वा॑ दे॒वाना॑मजनिष्ट॒ चक्षु॑रा॒विर॑क॒र्भुव॑नं॒ विश्व॑मु॒षाः ॥ (१)

सबके नेता सविता देव विनाशरहित एवं सर्वजन-हितकारी ज्योति का आश्रय लेकर ऊंचे उठते हैं. वे देवकमों अर्थात् यज्ञों के हेतु उत्पन्न हुए हैं. उषा ने सभी देवों का नेत्र बनकर सारे लोक को आविष्कृत किया है. (१)
EN English Translation
Savita Dev, the leader of all, rises high by taking shelter of a godless and pro-people flame. They are born for the devakamas i.e. the yagnas. Usha has invented all the folk by becoming the eye of all the gods. (1)
प्र मे॒ पन्था॑ देव॒याना॑ अदृश्र॒न्नम॑र्धन्तो॒ वसु॑भि॒रिष्कृ॑तासः । अभू॑दु के॒तुरु॒षसः॑ पु॒रस्ता॑त्प्रती॒च्यागा॒दधि॑ ह॒र्म्येभ्यः॑ ॥ (२)

मैंने हिंसा न करने वाले एवं तेजों द्वारा परिष्कृत देवयान मार्ग देखे हैं. उषा का ज्ञान कराने वाला प्रकाश पूर्व दिशा में था. वह उषा हमारे सामने ऊंचे स्थानों से आती है. (२)
EN English Translation
I have seen the devayan routes that do not do violence and are refined by the intensifiers. The light that enlightened Usha was in the east direction. That Usha comes from the high places in front of us. (2)
तानीदहा॑नि बहु॒लान्या॑स॒न्या प्रा॒चीन॒मुदि॑ता॒ सूर्य॑स्य । यतः॒ परि॑ जा॒र इ॑वा॒चर॒न्त्युषो॑ ददृ॒क्षे न पुन॑र्य॒तीव॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषा! तुम्हारा जो तेज सूर्य से पहले उदित होता है एवं जिस तेज के सामने तुम अपने पति सूर्य के समीप साध्वी नारी के समान दिखाई देती हो, तुम्हारा वह तेज अधिक मात्रा में है. (३)
EN English Translation
Oh, Usha! The brightness of yours that rises before the sun and the brightness in front of which you appear like a sadhvi near your husband sun, that brightness of yours is greater. (3)
त इद्दे॒वानां॑ सध॒माद॑ आसन्नृ॒तावा॑नः क॒वयः॑ पू॒र्व्यासः॑ । गू॒ळ्हं ज्योतिः॑ पि॒तरो॒ अन्व॑विन्दन्स॒त्यम॑न्त्रा अजनयन्नु॒षास॑म् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन सत्ययुक्त, क्रांतदर्शी व पूर्वकाल में उत्पन्न पितरों ने अंधकार से ढके तेज को प्राप्त किया एवं सत्यमत्र शक्ति वाला बनकर उषाओं को उत्पन्न किया, वे देवों के साथ-साथ प्रमुदित होते थे. (४)
EN English Translation
The true, revolutionary and ancient fathers who attained the radiance covered with darkness and created the ushas by becoming satyamattra shakti, were merry along with the gods. (4)
स॒मा॒न ऊ॒र्वे अधि॒ संग॑तासः॒ सं जा॑नते॒ न य॑तन्ते मि॒थस्ते । ते दे॒वानां॒ न मि॑नन्ति व्र॒तान्यम॑र्धन्तो॒ वसु॑भि॒र्याद॑मानाः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे पितर पणि द्वारा चुराई गायों को प्राप्त करने हेतु मिले थे एवं एक निश्चय पर पहुंचे थे. क्या उन्होंने मिलकर यत्न नहीं किया था? अर्थात् अवश्य किया था. वे देवसंबंधी यज्ञकर्मों का विनाश नहीं करते थे एवं हित न करते हुए उषा के वासदाता तेजों से मिलते थे. (५)
EN English Translation
They had met to get the cows stolen by the father's pany and arrived at a decision. Didn't they work together? i.e. did it. They did not destroy the devrelated yajnakarmas and did not meet usha's vasdata tejas without doing good. (5)
प्रति॑ त्वा॒ स्तोमै॑रीळते॒ वसि॑ष्ठा उष॒र्बुधः॑ सुभगे तुष्टु॒वांसः॑ । गवां॑ ने॒त्री वाज॑पत्नी न उ॒च्छोषः॑ सुजाते प्रथ॒मा ज॑रस्व ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सुंदरी उषा! प्रातःकाल जगाने वाले वसिष्ठवंशीय ऋषि स्तोत्रं द्वारा तुम्हारी बार-बार स्तुति करते हैं. हे गाएं प्राप्त कराने वाली एवं अन्नदात्री उषा! हमारे लिए प्रकाश करो. हे शोभनजन्म वाली उषा! तुम्हारी स्तुति सर्वप्रथम हो. (६)
EN English Translation
O beauty Usha! Vasishthanastyal sages who wake up in the morning praise you repeatedly through hymns. O usha, the recipient of the songs and the annadatri! Light up for us. O shobhanjanam wali Usha! May your praise be first. (6)
ए॒षा ने॒त्री राध॑सः सू॒नृता॑नामु॒षा उ॒च्छन्ती॑ रिभ्यते॒ वसि॑ष्ठैः । दी॒र्घ॒श्रुतं॑ र॒यिम॒स्मे दधा॑ना यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तुतियों की नेत्री उषा अंधकार नष्ट करती हुई स्तोता को एवं हमें सर्वत्र प्रसिद्ध धन देती है. हम वसिष्ठगोत्रीय ऋषि इस की स्तुति करते हैं. हे देवो! तुम कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (७)
EN English Translation
Usha, the leader of the praises, destroys darkness and gives us the famous wealth everywhere. We vasishthagotriya sages praise this. Oh, God! You always protect us by means of welfare. (7)
