प्रत्यु॑ अदर्श्याय॒त्यु१॒॑च्छन्ती॑ दुहि॒ता दि॒वः । अपो॒ महि॑ व्ययति॒ चक्ष॑से॒ तमो॒ ज्योति॑ष्कृणोति सू॒नरी॑ ॥ (१)

स्वर्ग की पुत्री उषा अंधकार मिटाती हुई एवं आती हुई दिखाई देती है. सब लोग देख सकें, इस हेतु यह रात के महान् अंधकार का नाश करती है. मानवों की शोभन नेत्री उषा प्रकाश करती है. (१)
EN English Translation
Usha, the daughter of heaven, is seen wiping out the darkness and coming. So that everyone can see, it destroys the great darkness of the night. Usha, the hero of human beings, lights up. (1)
उदु॒स्रियाः॑ सृजते॒ सूर्यः॒ सचा॑ँ उ॒द्यन्नक्ष॑त्रमर्चि॒वत् । तवेदु॑षो॒ व्युषि॒ सूर्य॑स्य च॒ सं भ॒क्तेन॑ गमेमहि ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य अपनी किरणों को एक साथ बिखेरते हैं एवं स्वयं प्रकट होकर आकाश के नक्षत्रों को दीप्तिशाली बनाते हैं. हे उषा! तुम्हारे और सूर्य के चमकने पर हम अन्न से मिलें. (२)
EN English Translation
The sun scatters its rays together and manifests itself and makes the constellations of the sky bright. Oh, Usha! When you and the sun shine, we meet the grain. (2)
प्रति॑ त्वा दुहितर्दिव॒ उषो॑ जी॒रा अ॑भुत्स्महि । या वह॑सि पु॒रु स्पा॒र्हं व॑नन्वति॒ रत्नं॒ न दा॒शुषे॒ मयः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्वर्गपुत्री उषा! शीघ्रतापूर्वक कर्म करने वाले हम तुम्हें जगाएं. हे धनस्वामिनी उषा! बुम विशाल धन के समान ही यजमान के लिए रत्न एवं सुख का वहन करती हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O daughter of heaven Usha! Let us wake you up, who act quickly. O dhanswamini usha! A bum carries gems and pleasures for the host just like a huge wealth. (3)
उ॒च्छन्ती॒ या कृ॒णोषि॑ मं॒हना॑ महि प्र॒ख्यै दे॑वि॒ स्व॑र्दृ॒शे । तस्या॑स्ते रत्न॒भाज॑ ईमहे व॒यं स्याम॑ मा॒तुर्न सू॒नवः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अंधकारनाशिनी एवं महिमाशालिनी महादेवी उषा! तुम सब जग को जगाने एवं देखने में समर्थ बनाती हो. हे रत्नस्वामिनी! हम तुमसे याचना करते हैं. हम तुम्हें माता के लिए पुत्र के समान प्रिय हों. (४)
EN English Translation
O Darknessashini and Mahishalini Mahadevi Usha! You all enable the world to wake up and see. O Ratnaswamini! We beg of you. May we love you as a son to the mother. (4)
तच्चि॒त्रं राध॒ आ भ॒रोषो॒ यद्दी॑र्घ॒श्रुत्त॑मम् । यत्ते॑ दिवो दुहितर्मर्त॒भोज॑नं॒ तद्रा॑स्व भु॒नजा॑महै ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषा! वह विचित्र धन हमें दो, जो दूरदूर तक प्रसिद्ध है. हे स्वर्गपुत्री! तुम्हारे पास मानवों के उपभोग के योग्य जो धन है, वह हमें दो. हम उसका उपभोग करेंगे. (५)
EN English Translation
Oh, Usha! Give us that strange wealth, which is famous far away. O daughter of heaven! Give us the wealth you have for the consumption of human beings. We'll consume it. (5)
श्रवः॑ सू॒रिभ्यो॑ अ॒मृतं॑ वसुत्व॒नं वाजा॑ँ अ॒स्मभ्यं॒ गोम॑तः । चो॒द॒यि॒त्री म॒घोनः॑ सू॒नृता॑वत्यु॒षा उ॑च्छ॒दप॒ स्रिधः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उषा! स्तोताओं को नाशरहित एवं निवासयुक्त यश दो. हमें गायों वाला धन दो. यजमान को प्रेरणा देने वाली एवं सत्य से प्रेम करने वाली उषा शत्रुओं को दूर करें. (६)
EN English Translation
Oh, Usha! Give the hymns a decadeless and inhabited glory. Give us money with cows. Remove usha enemies who inspires the host and loves the truth. (6)
