जिस समय सोम को घोड़े के समान सजाया जाता है एवं सोम की किरणें सूर्य की किरणों के समान उत्पन्न होती हैं, उस समय उंगलियां परस्पर होड़ लगाकर सोम का रस निचोड़ती हैं. स्तोताओं की इच्छा करने वाले सोम जलों को ढकते हुए इस प्रकार पात्र में गिरते हैं, जिस प्रकार ग्वाला पशुओं को पुष्ट बनाने के लिए गोशाला में जाता है.
