प्र काव्यमुशनेव ब्रुवाणो देवो देवानां जनिमा विवक्ति । महिव्रतः शुचिबन्धुः पावकः पदा वराहो अभ्येति रेभन् ॥ (१)

उपासक उशना के समान श्रेष्ठ वाणी वाले हैं. वे देवताओं की जीवनी को अच्छी तरह प्रस्तुत करते हैं. सोम पवित्र, प्रकाशित व पोषक हैं. आप परिष्कृत होते समय शब्द करते हुए द्रोणकलश में जाते हैं. (१)

Worshippers are as superior as Ushna. They present the biographies of the gods well. Soma is sacred, illuminated and nourishing. You go to Dronakalsh while doing words while being refined. (1)
असृग्रमिन्दवः पथा धर्मन्नृतस्य सुश्रियः । विदाना अस्य योजना ॥ (१)

हे सोम! आप ऋत् (सत्य) व श्रेष्ठ मार्ग पर चलते हैं. आप यज्ञ व यजमान को भलीभांति जानते हैं. (१)

O Mon! You walk on the path of truth and superior. You know the yajna and the host very well. (1)
मूर्धानं दिवो अरतिं पृथिव्या वैश्वानरमृत आ जातमग्निम् । कविँ सम्राजमतिथिं जनानामासन्नः पात्रं जनयन्त देवाः ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप स्वर्गलोक में मूर्धन्य हैं. आप यज्ञ में प्रकट होते हैं. आप पृथ्वी पर भ्रमणशील हैं. आप कवि, सम्राट् व अतिथि हैं. आप लोगों के निकटवर्ती हैं. आप देवताओं को प्रकट करते हैं. (१)

O agni! You are unconscious in heaven. You appear in the yajna. You are traveling on earth. You are a poet, emperor and guest. You are close to people. You reveal the gods. (1)
प्रो अयासीदिन्दुरिन्द्रस्य निष्कृतँ सखा सख्युर्न प्र मिनाति सङ्गिरम् । मर्य इव युवतिभिः समर्षति सोमः कलशे शतयाम्ना पथा ॥ (१)

कई विधियों से परिष्कृत शुद्ध सोमरस इंद्र के पेट में पहुंच रहा है. यह सोमरस इंद्र के पेट में अच्छी तरह पच जाता है. जैसे युवा स्त्रियों के साथ रमण करता है, वैसे ही सोमरस सैकड़ों मार्गों से कलश में प्रतिष्ठित होता है. (१)

सखाय आ नि षीदत पुनानाय प्र गायत । शिशुं न यज्ञैः परि भूषत श्रिये ॥ (१)

हे यजमान मित्रो! आप आइए, बैठिए और सोम के लिए प्रार्थनाएं गाइए. आप शिशु को सजाने की भांति यज्ञ सजाइए. (१)

O host friends! You come, sit down and sing prayers for Som. You decorate the yajna like decorating the baby. (1)
आ ते वत्सो मनो यमत्परमाच्चित्सधस्थात् । अग्ने त्वां कामये गिरा ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! हम वाणी से और वत्स ऋषि मन से आप की उपासना करते हैं. आप उस परम स्थान से भी हमारे पास पधारने की कृपा कीजिए. (१)

O agni! We worship you with speech and vats rishi mind. Please come to us from that supreme place too. (1)
प्र हँसासस्तृपला वग्नुमच्छामादस्तं वृषगणा अयासुः । आङ्गोषिणं पवमानँ सखायो दुर्मर्षं वाणं प्र वदन्ति साकम् ॥ (२)

शत्रुओं की शक्ति से बुद्धिमान यजमान भी घबरा जाते हैं. वे शीघ्र वहां पहुंचे, जहां सोम तैयार किया जा रहा था. वे वहां पवित्र सोम के लिए वाद्ययंत्र बजाने लगे, जिस से मधुर ध्वनि होने लगी. सोम की कृपा से असहनीय शत्रु को भी दबाया जा सकता है. (२)
EN English Translation
Intelligent hosts are also afraid of the power of enemies. They soon reached where SOM was being prepared. They started playing instruments for the holy Soma there, which made a sweet sound. By the grace of Som, the unbearable enemy can also be suppressed. (2)
प्र धारा मधो अग्रियो महीरपो वि गाहते । हविर्हविःषु वन्द्यः ॥ (२)

सोम हवियों में श्रेष्ठ हवि व वंदनीय हैं. आप की धारा उत्कृष्ट, मधुर एवं अग्रणी है. आप की धारा जल में अवगाहन करती है. (२)

Som is the best of the havis and revered. Your stream is excellent, sweet and leading. Your stream flows into the water. (2)
त्वां विश्वे अमृत जायमानँ शिशुं न देवा अभि सं नवन्ते । तव क्रतुभिरमृतत्वमायन्वैश्वानर यत्पित्रोरदीदेः ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! आप विश्व रूप व अमृत स्वरूप हैं. आप संसार के स्वामी (नायक) हैं. आप यज्ञों द्वारा अमरता पाते हैं. आप की कृपा से यजमान दिव्यता प्राप्त करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the world form and nectar form. You are the master (hero) of the world. You find immortality through sacrifices. By your grace, the host attains divinity. (2)
प्र वो धियो मन्द्रयुवो विपन्युवः पनस्युवः संवरणेष्वक्रमुः । हरिं क्रीडन्तमभ्यनूषत स्तुभोऽभि धेनवः पयसेदशिश्रयुः ॥ (२)

हे सोम! जो यजमान बुद्धिपूर्वक आप को परिष्कृत करते हैं, वे आनंदपूर्वक अपनी इच्छापूर्ति का लाभ पाते हैं. गौएं अपने दूध से सोमरस को सींचती हैं. वह खेलता (लहराता) हुआ घड़े में पहुंचता है. (२)

O Mon! The hosts who refine you wisely enjoy their desire. Cows irrigate somers with their milk. He reaches the pitcher playing (waving). (2)
समी वत्सं न मातृभिः सृजता गयसाधनम् । देवाव्या३ं मदमभि द्विशवसम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! सोमरस यज्ञ का प्रमुख साधन व मददायी है. दोनों ही तरह अर्थात् दिव्यता और भौतिकता दोनों दृष्टिकोणों से वह शक्तिदायी है. आप सोमरस को वैसे ही जल में मिलाइए, जैसे माता के साथ बच्चे घुलमिल जाते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Someras is the main means and instrumental in yajna. In both ways, that is, divinity and materiality, he is powerful from both points of view. You mix somers in water just like children mix with the mother. (2)
पुरुत्रा हि सदृङ्ङसि दिशो विश्वा अनु प्रभुः । समत्सु त्वा हवामहे ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! आप सर्वद्रष्टा, दिशापति और हमारे प्रभु हैं. हम युद्ध में आप का आह्वान करते हैं. (२)

O agni! You are the almighty, the direction and our Swami. We call on you in war. (2)
स योजत उरुगायस्य जूतिं वृथा क्रीडन्तं मिमते न गावः । परीणसं कृणुते तिग्मशृङ्गो दिवा हरिर्ददृशे नक्तमृज्रः ॥ (३)

हे सोम! सहज रूप से खेलते हुए आप प्रशंसित गति पाते हैं, उस गति को किसी के द्वारा नापा नहीं जा सकता. आप दिन में हरी और रात्रि में सफेद (उज्ज्वल) आभा वाले होते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O Mon! Playing instinctively, you get the acclaimed speed, that speed cannot be measured by anyone. You are green during the day and white (bright) aura at night. (3)
प्र युजा वाचो अग्रियो वृषो अचिक्रदद्वने । सद्माभि सत्यो अध्वरः ॥ (३)

हे सोम! आप का मार्ग सत्यता का है. आप शक्तिमान, अग्रणी व वाणी को जोड़ने वाले हैं. सोम जल के साथ यज्ञशाला के भीतर प्रवेश करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O Mon! Your path is of truth. You are going to connect shaktimaan, leading and speech. Som enters the yagyashala with water. (3)
नाभिं यज्ञानाँ सदनँ रयीणां महामाहावमभि सं नवन्त । वैश्वानरँ रथ्यमध्वराणां यज्ञस्य केतुं जनयन्त देवाः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप यज्ञ की नाभि धन के भंडार, महिमावान, यज्ञ के संचालक व यज्ञ की पताका हैं. आप को अरणि मंथन से उत्पन्न किया जाता है. हम आप का आह्वान करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the navel of yajna, the storehouse of wealth, the glory, the operator of yajna and the flag of yajna. You are born from Arani Manthan. We call upon you. (3)
आ नः सोम संयतं पिप्युषीमिषमिन्दो पवस्व पवमान ऊर्मिणा । या नो दोहते त्रिरहन्नसश्चुषी क्षुमद्वाजवन्मधुमत्सुवीर्यम् ॥ (३)

हे सोम! आप पवित्र हैं और लहरों से लहराते हुए प्रवाहित होइए. सोमरस का तीनों संध्याओं (सवनों) में प्रयोग में किया जाता है. वह अन्नमय व श्रेष्ठ वीर्य वाला है. (३)

O Mon! You are holy and flow with waves. Someras is used in all three evenings (savanas). He is annamay and superior semen. (3)
पुनाता दक्षसाधनं यथा शर्धाय वीतये । यथा मित्राय वरुणाय शन्तमम् ॥ (३)

हे यजमानो! आप मित्र व वरुण के निमित्त सोम को परिष्कृत करें. आप बल व कुशलता की प्राप्ति और देवताओं को भेंट करने के लिए सोमरस को परिष्कृत कीजिए. (३)
EN English Translation
O hosts! You refine Som for the sake of friend and Varun. Refine someras to gain strength and skill and to offer it to the gods. (3)
समत्स्वग्निमवसे वाजयन्तो हवामहे । वाजेषु चित्रराधसम् ॥ (३)

हे अग्नि! आप क्षमतावान व अदभुत हैं. हम युद्ध हेतु बल प्राप्ति के लिए आप का आह्वान करते हैं. (३)

O agni! You are capable and amazing. We call upon you to gain force for war. (3)
प्र स्वानासो रथा इवार्वन्तो न अवस्यवः । सोमासो राये अक्रमुः ॥ (४)

हे सोम! घोड़े और रथ की तरह (वेग से) आवाज करता हुआ सोमरस पवित्र हो रहा है. यह हमें अपार वैभव प्रदान करने की कृपा करे. (४)

O Mon! Somerus is becoming holy, making a sound (swiftly) like a horse and a chariot. May it give us immense glory. (4)
परि यत्काव्या कविर्नृम्णा पुनानो अर्षति । स्वर्वाजी सिषासति ॥ (४)

सोम कवि हैं. कवि सोम जैसे ही मनुष्य की स्तुति स्वीकारते हैं, वैसे ही इंद्र यज्ञ स्थान पर अपनी शक्ति सहित आने के लिए तैयार हो जाते है. (४)

Som is a poet. As soon as poet Som accepts the praise of man, Indra is ready to come to the yagna place with his power. (4)
प्र वो मित्राय गायत वरुणाय विपा गिरा । महिक्षत्रावृतं बृहत् ॥ (४)

हे यजमानो! मित्र और वरुण महान, क्षात्रवान व विशाल हैं. आप इन देवों के लिए ऊंचे स्वर से स्तोत्र गाइए. दोनों देव उन स्तोत्रों को सुनने के लिए यज्ञ स्थान पर पधारने की कृपा करें. (४)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Friends and Varuna are great, brilliant and huge. You sing hymns with a loud voice for these gods. Both the gods should be pleased to come to the yajna place to listen to those stotras. (4)
न किष्टं कर्मणा नशद्यश्चकार सदावृधम् । इन्द्रं न यज्ञैर्विश्वगूर्त्तमृभ्वसमधृष्टं धृष्णुमोजसा ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप सदैव बढ़ोतरी करने वाले, शत्रुओं को हराने वाले व अपराजित हैं. जो यजमान आप की उपासना करते हैं, उन के कर्मो को कोई नष्ट नहीं कर सकता. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are always the one who increases, defeats enemies and is undefeated. No one can destroy the deeds of the hosts who worship you. (4)
प्र वाज्यक्षाः सहस्रधारस्तिरः पवित्रं वि वारमव्यम् ॥ (४)

हे सोम! आप अत्यंत बलशाली हैं, हजारों धारों वाले और पवित्र हैं. आप का रस भेड़ के बालों से बनी छलनी में छनता है. (४)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are extremely powerful, with thousands of edges and are holy. Your juice filters in a sieve made of sheep's hair. (4)
त्वं न इन्द्रा भर ओजो नृम्णँ शतक्रतो विचर्षणे । आ वीरं पृतनासहम् ॥ (४)

हे इंद्र! आप ओजस्वी, विलक्षण और सैकड़ों कर्म करने वाले हैं. आप पधारिए और हमें वीरपुत्र प्रदान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)

O Indra! You are energetic, extraordinary and do hundreds of deeds. Please come and give us the son of Veer. (4)
हिन्वानासो रथा इव दधन्विरे गभस्त्योः । भरासः कारिणामिव ॥ (५)

हे सोम! आप का रस यजमान वैसे ही धारण करते हैं, जैसे भारवाही दोनों हाथों से बोझा उठाता है. रथ जैसे युद्ध में जाते हैं, वैसे ही सोमरस यज्ञ में ले जाया जा रहा है. (५)

O Mon! Your juice host wears the same way as the load carrier carries the burden with both hands. Just as chariots go to war, so someras is being taken to yagya. (5)
पवमानो अभि स्पृधो विशो राजेव सीदति । यदीमृण्वन्ति वेधसः ॥ (५)

सोम पवित्र हैं. वे राजा के समान सुशोभित होते हैं. वे प्रजा के संरक्षण हेतु शन्रुओं का नाश करने के लिए तैयार रहते हैं. (५)

Som is holy. They are adorned like a king. They are ready to destroy the shanrus for the protection of the people. (5)
सम्राजा या घृतयोनी मित्रश्चोभा वरुणश्च । देवा देवेषु प्रशस्ता ॥ (५)

हे यजमानो! मित्र और वरुण ये दोनों देव देवताओं में प्रशंसित हैं. दोनों देव सम्राट् हैं. दोनों देव प्रकाश उत्पन्न करते हैं. (५)

O hosts! Mitra and Varuna are both admired among the gods. Both gods are emperors. Both gods generate light. (5)
अषाढमुग्रं पृतनासु सासहिं यस्मिन्महीरुरुज्रयः । सं धेनवो जायमाने अनोनवुर्द्यावः क्षामीरनोनवुः ॥ (५)

जब इंद्र प्रकट होते हैं तो वेगवती गौएं उन्हें नमस्कार करती हैं. स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक झुक कर उन का अभिवादन करते हैं. हम भी उन की अभ्यर्थना करते हैं. (५)

When Indra appears, the vegvati cows greet him. Heaven and earthland bow down and greet them. We also recommend them. (5)
स वाज्यक्षाः सहस्ररेता अद्भिर्मृजानो गोभिः श्रीणानः ॥ (५)

हे सोम! आप अत्यंत बलशाली हैं. आप हजारों गुना बलशाली हैं. आप जल से ओतप्रोत हैं. भेड़ के बालों से बनी छलनी से छनते हुए आप द्रोणकलश में जाते हैं. (५)

O Mon! You are very strong. You are thousands of times stronger. You are full of water. You go to Dronakalsh, filtering with a sieve made of sheep's hair. (5)
त्वँ हि नः पिता वसो त्वं माता शतक्रतो बभूविथ । अथा ते सुम्नमीमहे ॥ (५)

हे इंद्र! आप ही हमारे पिता और माता हैं. हम आप के पुत्र अच्छे मन से आप से अच्छे सुख चाहते हैं. आप शतकर्मा हैं. (५)

O Indra! You are our father and mother. We, your son, want good happiness from you with a good heart. You are a centurion. (5)
