सुषमिद्धो न आ वह देवाँ अग्ने हविष्मते । होतः पावक यक्षि च ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप पवित्र करने वाले हैं. आप यजमान के कल्याण हेतु देवताओं का आह्वान करिए. देवताओं को हवि पहुंचाने के लिए हवि स्वीकार कीजिए. आप यज्ञ को सफल बनाने की कृपा कीजिए. (१)

O agni! You are going to sanctify. You invoke the gods for the welfare of the host. Accept havi to convey havi to the gods. Please make the yajna a success. (1)
आ जागृविर्विप्र ऋतां मतीनाँ सोमः पुनानो असदच्चमूषु । सपन्ति यं मिथुनासो निकामा अध्वर्यवो रथिरासः सुहस्ताः ॥ (१)

सोम जाग्रत हैं, स्तुतियों को जानने वाले हैं. वे छनछन कर द्रोणकलश में झरते हैं. धनवान अच्छे हाथों वाले संपत्ति पाने के इच्छुक पुरोहित इसे इकट्ठा कर के संभाल कर रखते हैं. (१)

Soma is awake, he is the one who knows the praises. They filter and fall into dronakalsh. Priests who want to get wealth with rich good hands collect and keep it. (1)
सूर्यस्येव रश्मयो द्रावयित्नवो मत्सरासः प्रसुतः साकमीरते । तन्तुं ततं परि सर्गास आशवो नेन्द्रादृते पवते धाम किं चन ॥ (१)

सोम की धाराएं द्रवित होती हुई पात्र में सूर्य की किरणों की तरह फैल रही हैं. इंद्र के अलावा वे किसी अन्य को नहीं मिलती. (१)
EN English Translation
The currents of Soma are spreading like the rays of the sun in the moving vessel. Apart from Indra, he does not meet anyone else. (1)
मधुमन्तं तनूनपाद्यज्ञं देवेषु नः कवे । अद्या कृणुय्हूतये ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप विद्वान् व ऊपर की ओर जाने वाले हैं. आप हमारे कल्याण के लिए तनमन के निमित्त पोषक मधुरता से भरी हवियों को देवताओं के लिए स्वीकार कीजिए. उन हवियों को स्वीकारने के बाद देवताओं तक पहुंचाने की कृपा भी कीजिए. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are going to go up and down. You accept for the gods the lusts full of sweetness for the sake of tanman for our welfare. After accepting those desires, please also convey them to the gods. (2)
स पुनान उप सूरे दधान ओबे अप्रा रोदसी वि ष आवः । प्रिया चिद्यस्य प्रियसास ऊती सतो धनं कारिणे न प्र यँसत् ॥ (२)

सोम पवित्र हैं, स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक को अपनी आभा से पूर्ण करते हैं. इन की रसधार बहुत प्रिय लगने वाली है. वह हमारी रक्षा और हमें वैभव प्रदान करती है. यह सोमरस इंद्र के पास पहुंचता है. (२)

Soma is holy, completes heaven and earth with his aura. Their rasdhar is going to look very dear. She protects us and gives us splendour. This someras reaches Indra. (2)
उपो मतिः पृच्यते सिच्यते मधु मन्द्राजनी चोदते अन्तरासनि । पवमानः सन्तनिः सुन्वतामिव मधुमान्द्रप्सः परि वारमर्षति ॥ (२)

सोम मधुर व बुद्धिवर्दधक हैं. सोमरस इंद्र को प्रेरित करने वाला है. यजमान सोमरस निचोड़ते व उसे जल में मिलाते हैं, उस को और परिष्कृत करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Som is sweet and intelligent. Someras is going to inspire Indra. The host squeezes someras and mixes it in water, refining it further. (2)
नराशँसमिह प्रियमस्मिन्यज्ञ उप ह्वये । मधुजिह्वँ हविष्कृतम् ॥ (३)

हे अग्नि! आप देवताओं को प्रिय, उन के लिए प्रसन्रतादायी, मीठी जिह्वा वाले व पूजनीय हैं. हम इस यज्ञ में अपनी हवियों को देवों तक पहुंचाने का अनुरोध करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are dear to the gods, admiring to them, with sweet tongues and revered. We request to deliver our havis to the gods in this yagna. (3)
स वर्धिता वर्धनः पूयमानः सोमो मीढ्वाँ अभि नो ज्योतिषावीत् । यत्र नः पूर्वे पितरः पदज्ञाः स्वर्विदो अभि गा अद्रिमिष्णन् ॥ (३)

सोम बढ़ोतरी पाने वाले, देवताओं की बढ़ोतरी करने वाले और अभीष्ट साधने वाले हैं. छना हुआ सोमरस सब प्रकार से हमारी रक्षा करे. आत्म तत्त्व ज्ञाता हमारे पूर्व पितर अपनी यज्ञीय गायों को सोम से भरे हुए पहाड़ों के पास ले जाया करते थे. (३)
EN English Translation
Soma is the one who gets the increase, the one who increases the gods and the one who wants. May the filtered Somerus protect us in every way. Our former ancestors used to take their sacrificial cows to the mountains full of soma. (3)
उक्षा मिमेति प्रति यन्ति धेनवो देवस्य देवीरुप यन्ति निष्कृतम् । अत्यक्रमीदर्जुनं वारमव्ययमत्कं न निक्तं परि सोमो अव्यत ॥ (३)

निचोड़ा जाता हुआ सोमरस आवाज करता है व दिव्य रूप को प्राप्त करता है. गायों के दूध से उस को शुद्ध बनाया जाता है. वह दिव्य, प्रकाशमान व अव्यय है. (३)
EN English Translation
The squeezed somerus makes a sound and attains the divine form. It is purified with the milk of cows. He is divine, luminous and unworthy. (3)
अग्ने सुखतमे रथे देवाँ ईडित आ वह । असि होता मनुर्हितः ॥ (४)

हे अग्नि! आप देवताओं को साथ ले कर अपने सुखदायी रथ में यज्ञ स्थान तक पधारिए. आप देवताओं को बुलाने वाले व मनुष्यों का हित साधने वाले हैं. (४)

O agni! You take the gods along and come to the yagna place in your happy chariot. You are the one who calls the gods and serves the interests of human beings. (4)
मा चिदन्यद्वि शँसत सखायो मा रिषण्यत । इन्द्रमित्स्तोता वृषणँ सचा सुते मुहुरुक्था च शँसत ॥ (४)

हे मित्र यजमानो! इंद्र बलवान हैं. आप सोमरस परिष्कृत कर के इंद्र की ही स्तुति कीजिए, किसी दूसरे देवता की नहीं. आप बारबार और देवताओं की स्तुति में समय और क्षमता नष्ट मत कीजिए. आप सामूहिक रूप से इंद्र की उपासना कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
O friend, sir! Indra is strong. You refine someras and praise Indra, not any other god. Don't waste time and ability again and again in praise of the gods. You worship Indra collectively. (4)
अग्निं नरो दीधितिभिररण्योर्हस्तच्युतं जनयत प्रशस्तम् । दूरेदृशं गृहपतिमथव्युम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे नरो! अग्नि पूजनीय हैं. वे हमारा भरणपोषण करते हैं. वे गृहपति, अच्युत और दूर से ही दर्शनीय हैं. आप सभी अरणि मंथन से अग्नि को प्रकट करने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
Oh my god! Agni is revered. They feed us. He is a householder, undivided and visible from a distance. Please all of you to reveal the agni from the forest churning. (4)
यदद्य सूर उदितेऽनागा मित्रो अर्यमा । सुवाति सविता भगः ॥ (५)

सूर्य के उदित होने पर पवित्र मित्र, अर्यमा, सविता व भग हमें मनचाहा धन प्राप्त कराने की कृपा करें. (५)

When the sun rises, may holy friends, Aryama, Savita and Bhaga please get us the money we want. (5)
अवक्रक्षिणं वृषभं यथा जुवं गां न चर्षणीसहम् । विद्वेषणँ संवननमुभयङ्करं मँहिष्ठमुभयाविनम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र महान हैं. वे भौतिक और पारलौकिक दोनों वैभव देने वाले, यजमानों के आराध्य देव, शत्रुओं से द्वेष रखने वाले, शत्रुओं के नाशक, शीघ्र जाने वाले और बैल की तरह बलपूर्वक संघर्ष करने वाले हैं. आप उन्हीं इंद्र की स्तुति कीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
Indra is great. He is the god of both material and transcendental splendour, the adorable god of hosts, the hater of enemies, the destroyer of enemies, the quick-going and the one who fights forcefully like an oxen. You praise the same Indra. (5)
तमग्निमस्ते वसवो न्यृण्वन्त्सुप्रतिचक्षमवसे कुतश्चित् । दक्षाय्यो यो दम आस नित्यः ॥ (५)

हे अग्नि! आप ज्वलनशील प्रकाशमान हैं. आप को हम घर में प्रज्वलित करते हैं. आप सुंदर (दर्शनीय) स्वरूप वाले हैं. यजमान अपनी रक्षा के लिए आप को यज्ञ में प्रतिष्ठित करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are flammable light. We ignite you in the house. You are beautiful. The hosts establish you in the yagna to protect themselves. (5)
सुप्रावीरस्तु स क्षयः प्र नु यामन्त्सुदानवः । ये नो अँहोऽतिपिप्रति ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवताओ! आप उत्कृष्ट कल्याण करने वाले, हमारे श्रेष्ठ रक्षक व यज्ञ स्थान के वासी हैं. आप अहम्, दंभ आदि राक्षसों (बुरी प्रवृत्तियों) से हमारी रक्षा करने की कृपा करें. (६)
EN English Translation
O gods! You are the best welfare doer, our best protector and the resident of the place of yajna. Please protect us from demons (evil tendencies) like ego, conceit etc. (6)
उदु त्ये मधुमत्तमा गिर स्तोमास ईरते । सत्राजितो धनसा अक्षितोतयो वाजन्तो रथा इव ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप वैभवदाता व निरंतर रक्षक हैं. मधुर वाणी वाली स्तुतियां घोड़े वाले रथ के समान हैं, युद्ध में प्रिय लगने वाले अस्त्रशस्त्र (उपकरणों) के समान हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are a splendor and a constant protector. The praises with sweet speech are like horse chariots, like weapons (instruments) that look dear in war. (6)
प्रेद्धो अग्ने दीदिहि पुरो नोऽजस्रया सूर्म्या यविष्ठ । त्वाँ शश्वन्त उप यन्ति वाजाः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप शाश्वत, शक्तिशाली और अजस्र हैं. आप भलीभांति प्रज्वलित होइए. आप ज्वालाओं से प्रज्वलित होने की कृपा कीजिए. हम आप को जौ मिश्रित हवि भेंट करते हैं. (६)

O agni! You are eternal, powerful and unbreakable. You ignite well. Please ignite with flames. We offer you barley mixed havi. (6)
उत स्वराजो अदितिरदब्धस्य व्रतस्य ये । महो राजान ईशते ॥ (७)

देवताओं की माता अदिति समेत सभी देवतागण हमारे व्रत सिद्ध करें. वे इन्हें सिद्ध करने की सामर्थ्य रखते हैं. वे महान, राजा व ईश्वर हैं. (७)

कण्वा इव भृगवः सूर्या इव विश्वमिद्धीतमाशत । इन्द्रँ स्तोमेभिर्महयन्त आयवः प्रियमेधासो अस्वरन् ॥ (७)

कण्व ऋषि की तरह भृगुओं ने भी इंद्र का साक्षात्कार किया. वे सूर्य की तरह अखिल विश्व में व्याप्त हैं. भृगु इंद्र की महिमा वैसे ही बखान करने लगे, जैसे यजमान (इंद्र की) महिमा का बखान करते हैं. (७)

आयं गौः पृश्निरक्रमीदसदन्मातरं पुरः । पितरं च प्रयन्त्स्वः ॥ (७)

हे अग्नि! आप बहुरंगी, गतिशील व (सूर्य रूप में) पूर्व दिशा में उदित होते हैं. आप पितृलोक (अंतरिक्षलोक) में प्रतिष्ठित होते हैं. (७)

O agni! You are multicolored, dynamic and (in the form of the sun) rising in the east direction. You are distinguished in the fatherland . (7)
उ त्वा मन्दन्तु सोमाः कृणुष्व राधो अद्रिवः । अव ब्रह्मद्विषो जहि ॥ (८)

हे इंद्र! आप सामर्थ्यवान हैं. सोमरस आप को मदमस्त बना दे. आप हमें वैभव प्रदान करें. आप ब्रह्मज्ञान के द्वेषियों का नाश करें. (८)

O Indra! You are powerful. May Someras make you mad. May you give us splendour. You destroy the malice of Brahmagyan. (8)
पर्यू षु प्र धन्व वाजसातये परि वृत्राणि सक्षणिः । द्विषस्तरध्या ऋणया न ईरसे ॥ (८)

हे सोम! आप की कृपा से कर्जा खत्म हो जाता है. आप दुश्मनों के नाश के लिए उसी प्रकार प्रेरित होने की कृपा कीजिए, जिस प्रकार पराक्रमी इंद्र वृत्रासुर का नाश करने के लिए प्रेरित हुए थे. आप हमें अच्छे पोषक अन्न प्रदान करें. (८)
EN English Translation
O Mon! By your grace, the debt ends. Please be inspired to destroy enemies in the same way as the mighty Indra was inspired to destroy Vritrasura. You provide us with good nutritious food. (8)
अन्तश्चरति रोचनास्य प्राणादपानती । व्यख्यन्महिषो दिवम् ॥ (८)

हे सूर्य! आप स्वर्गलोक को प्रकाश और तेज से भर देते हैं. आप का तेज आकाश और पृथ्वी के बीच चमकता रहता है. (८)

O sun! You fill heaven with light and brightness. Your brightness shines between the sky and the earth. (8)
पदा पणीनराधसो नि बाधस्व महाँ असि । न हि त्वा कश्च न प्रति ॥ (९)

हे इंद्र! आप महान व बहुत क्षमतावान हैं. आप किसी के भी प्रति कृपा में कमी नहीं रखते हैं. आप दान न देने वालों को बाधा पहुंचाइए. (९)

O Indra! You are great and very capable. You do not lack in grace towards anyone. You obstruct those who do not donate. (9)
अजीजनो हि पवमान सूर्यं विधारे शक्मना पयः । गोजीरया रँहमानः पुरन्ध्या ॥ (९)

हे सोम! आप पवित्र हैं. आप सूर्य को उत्पन्न करने की और सूर्य जल धारण करने की सामर्थ्य रखते हैं. सूर्य पृथ्वीलोक में जीवन को गतिशील बनाने में समर्थ हैं. (९)

O Mon! You are holy. You have the ability to produce the sun and hold the sun water. The Sun is capable of making life dynamic in the earth. (9)
त्रिँशद्धाम वि राजति वाक्पतङ्गाय धीयते । प्रति वस्तोरह द्युभिः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तीस घड़ियों (१२ घंटे) तक अग्नि (सूर्य रूप में) अपनी तेजोमयता से प्रकाशमान रहते हैं. उस समय स्वर्गलोक द्वारा आप को यजमानों की बुद्धिपूर्वक की गई स्तुतियां प्राप्त होती हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
For thirty clocks (12 hours), agni (in the form of sun) is illuminated with its brightness. At that time, you receive the praises of the hosts wisely by heaven. (9)
त्वमीशिषे सुतानामिन्द्र त्वमसुतानाम् । त्वँ राजा जनानाम् ॥ (१०)

हे इंद्र! आप सब लोगों के राजा हैं. आप पुत्रों के और अपुत्रों के भी स्वामी हैं. (१०)

O Indra! You are the king of all people. You are the master of sons and also of sons. (10)
अनु हि त्वा सुतँ सोम मदामसि महे समर्यराज्ये । वाजाँ अभि पवमान प्र गाहसे ॥ (१०)

हे सोम! हम आप के अनुगामी, आप के पुत्र और आप की कृपा से सुखपूर्वक निवास करते हैं. हम आप की कृपा और क्षमता से ही कोई कार्य कर पाते है. (१०)

O Mon! We live happily by your followers, your sons and by your grace. We are able to do any work only with your grace and ability. (10)
परि प्र धन्वेन्द्राय सोम स्वादुर्मित्राय पूष्णे भगाय ॥ (११)

हे सोम! आप स्वादिष्ट हैं. आप मित्र, पूषा, भग और धन्वेंद्र (गोस्वामी इंद्र) के लिए प्रवाहित होइए. (११)

O Mon! You are delicious. You flow to friends, Pusha, Bhaga and Dhanvendra (Goswami Indra). (11)
