आ जागृविर्विप्र ऋतां मतीनाँ सोमः पुनानो असदच्चमूषु । सपन्ति यं मिथुनासो निकामा अध्वर्यवो रथिरासः सुहस्ताः ॥ (१)

सोम जाग्रत हैं, स्तुतियों को जानने वाले हैं. वे छनछन कर द्रोणकलश में झरते हैं. धनवान अच्छे हाथों वाले संपत्ति पाने के इच्छुक पुरोहित इसे इकट्ठा कर के संभाल कर रखते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Soma is awake, he is the one who knows the praises. They filter and fall into dronakalsh. Priests who want to get wealth with rich good hands collect and keep it. (1)
स पुनान उप सूरे दधान ओबे अप्रा रोदसी वि ष आवः । प्रिया चिद्यस्य प्रियसास ऊती सतो धनं कारिणे न प्र यँसत् ॥ (२)

सोम पवित्र हैं, स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक को अपनी आभा से पूर्ण करते हैं. इन की रसधार बहुत प्रिय लगने वाली है. वह हमारी रक्षा और हमें वैभव प्रदान करती है. यह सोमरस इंद्र के पास पहुंचता है. (२)
EN English Translation
Soma is holy, completes heaven and earth with his aura. Their rasdhar is going to look very dear. She protects us and gives us splendour. This someras reaches Indra. (2)
स वर्धिता वर्धनः पूयमानः सोमो मीढ्वाँ अभि नो ज्योतिषावीत् । यत्र नः पूर्वे पितरः पदज्ञाः स्वर्विदो अभि गा अद्रिमिष्णन् ॥ (३)

सोम बढ़ोतरी पाने वाले, देवताओं की बढ़ोतरी करने वाले और अभीष्ट साधने वाले हैं. छना हुआ सोमरस सब प्रकार से हमारी रक्षा करे. आत्म तत्त्व ज्ञाता हमारे पूर्व पितर अपनी यज्ञीय गायों को सोम से भरे हुए पहाड़ों के पास ले जाया करते थे. (३)
EN English Translation
Soma is the one who gets the increase, the one who increases the gods and the one who wants. May the filtered Somerus protect us in every way. Our former ancestors used to take their sacrificial cows to the mountains full of soma. (3)
मा चिदन्यद्वि शँसत सखायो मा रिषण्यत । इन्द्रमित्स्तोता वृषणँ सचा सुते मुहुरुक्था च शँसत ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र यजमानो! इंद्र बलवान हैं. आप सोमरस परिष्कृत कर के इंद्र की ही स्तुति कीजिए, किसी दूसरे देवता की नहीं. आप बारबार और देवताओं की स्तुति में समय और क्षमता नष्ट मत कीजिए. आप सामूहिक रूप से इंद्र की उपासना कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
O friend, sir! Indra is strong. You refine someras and praise Indra, not any other god. Don't waste time and ability again and again in praise of the gods. You worship Indra collectively. (4)
अवक्रक्षिणं वृषभं यथा जुवं गां न चर्षणीसहम् । विद्वेषणँ संवननमुभयङ्करं मँहिष्ठमुभयाविनम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र महान हैं. वे भौतिक और पारलौकिक दोनों वैभव देने वाले, यजमानों के आराध्य देव, शत्रुओं से द्वेष रखने वाले, शत्रुओं के नाशक, शीघ्र जाने वाले और बैल की तरह बलपूर्वक संघर्ष करने वाले हैं. आप उन्हीं इंद्र की स्तुति कीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
Indra is great. He is the god of both material and transcendental splendour, the adorable god of hosts, the hater of enemies, the destroyer of enemies, the quick-going and the one who fights forcefully like an oxen. You praise the same Indra. (5)
उदु त्ये मधुमत्तमा गिर स्तोमास ईरते । सत्राजितो धनसा अक्षितोतयो वाजन्तो रथा इव ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप वैभवदाता व निरंतर रक्षक हैं. मधुर वाणी वाली स्तुतियां घोड़े वाले रथ के समान हैं, युद्ध में प्रिय लगने वाले अस्त्रशस्त्र (उपकरणों) के समान हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are a splendor and a constant protector. The praises with sweet speech are like horse chariots, like weapons (instruments) that look dear in war. (6)
कण्वा इव भृगवः सूर्या इव विश्वमिद्धीतमाशत । इन्द्रँ स्तोमेभिर्महयन्त आयवः प्रियमेधासो अस्वरन् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कण्व ऋषि की तरह भृगुओं ने भी इंद्र का साक्षात्कार किया. वे सूर्य की तरह अखिल विश्व में व्याप्त हैं. भृगु इंद्र की महिमा वैसे ही बखान करने लगे, जैसे यजमान (इंद्र की) महिमा का बखान करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Like Kanva Rishi, the bhrigus also interviewed Indra. They are all over the world like the sun. Bhrigu started glorifying Indra just as the hosts extolled the glory (of Indra). (7)
पर्यू षु प्र धन्व वाजसातये परि वृत्राणि सक्षणिः । द्विषस्तरध्या ऋणया न ईरसे ॥ (८)

हे सोम! आप की कृपा से कर्जा खत्म हो जाता है. आप दुश्मनों के नाश के लिए उसी प्रकार प्रेरित होने की कृपा कीजिए, जिस प्रकार पराक्रमी इंद्र वृत्रासुर का नाश करने के लिए प्रेरित हुए थे. आप हमें अच्छे पोषक अन्न प्रदान करें. (८)
EN English Translation
O Mon! By your grace, the debt ends. Please be inspired to destroy enemies in the same way as the mighty Indra was inspired to destroy Vritrasura. You provide us with good nutritious food. (8)
अजीजनो हि पवमान सूर्यं विधारे शक्मना पयः । गोजीरया रँहमानः पुरन्ध्या ॥ (९)

हे सोम! आप पवित्र हैं. आप सूर्य को उत्पन्न करने की और सूर्य जल धारण करने की सामर्थ्य रखते हैं. सूर्य पृथ्वीलोक में जीवन को गतिशील बनाने में समर्थ हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are holy. You have the ability to produce the sun and hold the sun water. The Sun is capable of making life dynamic in the earth. (9)
अनु हि त्वा सुतँ सोम मदामसि महे समर्यराज्ये । वाजाँ अभि पवमान प्र गाहसे ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! हम आप के अनुगामी, आप के पुत्र और आप की कृपा से सुखपूर्वक निवास करते हैं. हम आप की कृपा और क्षमता से ही कोई कार्य कर पाते है. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Mon! We live happily by your followers, your sons and by your grace. We are able to do any work only with your grace and ability. (10)
परि प्र धन्वेन्द्राय सोम स्वादुर्मित्राय पूष्णे भगाय ॥ (११)

हे सोम! आप स्वादिष्ट हैं. आप मित्र, पूषा, भग और धन्वेंद्र (गोस्वामी इंद्र) के लिए प्रवाहित होइए. (११)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are delicious. You flow to friends, Pusha, Bhaga and Dhanvendra (Goswami Indra). (11)

हे सोम! आप चमकीले, दिव्य, अमृतमय और अमरता के लिए पृथ्वी पर क्षरित (प्रवाहित) होने की कृपा कीजिए. (१२)

O Mon! Please be bright, divine, elixirious and flow on the earth for immortality. (12)
इन्द्रस्ते सोम सुतस्य पेयात्क्रत्वे दक्षाय विश्वे च देवाः ॥ (१३)

हे सोम! आप अपने पुत्रों की प्रार्थना सुन लीजिए. यज्ञ में इंद्र व सभी देवता आप के रस को पीने की कृपा करें. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Mon! Listen to the prayers of your sons. In the yajna, Indra and all the gods should be pleased to drink your juice. (13)
