सूर्यस्येव रश्मयो द्रावयित्नवो मत्सरासः प्रसुतः साकमीरते । तन्तुं ततं परि सर्गास आशवो नेन्द्रादृते पवते धाम किं चन ॥ (१)

सोम की धाराएं द्रवित होती हुई पात्र में सूर्य की किरणों की तरह फैल रही हैं. इंद्र के अलावा वे किसी अन्य को नहीं मिलती. (१)
EN English Translation
The currents of Soma are spreading like the rays of the sun in the moving vessel. Apart from Indra, he does not meet anyone else. (1)
उपो मतिः पृच्यते सिच्यते मधु मन्द्राजनी चोदते अन्तरासनि । पवमानः सन्तनिः सुन्वतामिव मधुमान्द्रप्सः परि वारमर्षति ॥ (२)

सोम मधुर व बुद्धिवर्दधक हैं. सोमरस इंद्र को प्रेरित करने वाला है. यजमान सोमरस निचोड़ते व उसे जल में मिलाते हैं, उस को और परिष्कृत करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Som is sweet and intelligent. Someras is going to inspire Indra. The host squeezes someras and mixes it in water, refining it further. (2)
उक्षा मिमेति प्रति यन्ति धेनवो देवस्य देवीरुप यन्ति निष्कृतम् । अत्यक्रमीदर्जुनं वारमव्ययमत्कं न निक्तं परि सोमो अव्यत ॥ (३)

निचोड़ा जाता हुआ सोमरस आवाज करता है व दिव्य रूप को प्राप्त करता है. गायों के दूध से उस को शुद्ध बनाया जाता है. वह दिव्य, प्रकाशमान व अव्यय है. (३)
EN English Translation
The squeezed somerus makes a sound and attains the divine form. It is purified with the milk of cows. He is divine, luminous and unworthy. (3)
अग्निं नरो दीधितिभिररण्योर्हस्तच्युतं जनयत प्रशस्तम् । दूरेदृशं गृहपतिमथव्युम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे नरो! अग्नि पूजनीय हैं. वे हमारा भरणपोषण करते हैं. वे गृहपति, अच्युत और दूर से ही दर्शनीय हैं. आप सभी अरणि मंथन से अग्नि को प्रकट करने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
Oh my god! Agni is revered. They feed us. He is a householder, undivided and visible from a distance. Please all of you to reveal the agni from the forest churning. (4)
तमग्निमस्ते वसवो न्यृण्वन्त्सुप्रतिचक्षमवसे कुतश्चित् । दक्षाय्यो यो दम आस नित्यः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप ज्वलनशील प्रकाशमान हैं. आप को हम घर में प्रज्वलित करते हैं. आप सुंदर (दर्शनीय) स्वरूप वाले हैं. यजमान अपनी रक्षा के लिए आप को यज्ञ में प्रतिष्ठित करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are flammable light. We ignite you in the house. You are beautiful. The hosts establish you in the yagna to protect themselves. (5)
प्रेद्धो अग्ने दीदिहि पुरो नोऽजस्रया सूर्म्या यविष्ठ । त्वाँ शश्वन्त उप यन्ति वाजाः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप शाश्वत, शक्तिशाली और अजस्र हैं. आप भलीभांति प्रज्वलित होइए. आप ज्वालाओं से प्रज्वलित होने की कृपा कीजिए. हम आप को जौ मिश्रित हवि भेंट करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are eternal, powerful and unbreakable. You ignite well. Please ignite with flames. We offer you barley mixed havi. (6)
आयं गौः पृश्निरक्रमीदसदन्मातरं पुरः । पितरं च प्रयन्त्स्वः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप बहुरंगी, गतिशील व (सूर्य रूप में) पूर्व दिशा में उदित होते हैं. आप पितृलोक (अंतरिक्षलोक) में प्रतिष्ठित होते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are multicolored, dynamic and (in the form of the sun) rising in the east direction. You are distinguished in the fatherland . (7)
अन्तश्चरति रोचनास्य प्राणादपानती । व्यख्यन्महिषो दिवम् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्य! आप स्वर्गलोक को प्रकाश और तेज से भर देते हैं. आप का तेज आकाश और पृथ्वी के बीच चमकता रहता है. (८)
EN English Translation
O sun! You fill heaven with light and brightness. Your brightness shines between the sky and the earth. (8)
त्रिँशद्धाम वि राजति वाक्पतङ्गाय धीयते । प्रति वस्तोरह द्युभिः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तीस घड़ियों (१२ घंटे) तक अग्नि (सूर्य रूप में) अपनी तेजोमयता से प्रकाशमान रहते हैं. उस समय स्वर्गलोक द्वारा आप को यजमानों की बुद्धिपूर्वक की गई स्तुतियां प्राप्त होती हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
For thirty clocks (12 hours), agni (in the form of sun) is illuminated with its brightness. At that time, you receive the praises of the hosts wisely by heaven. (9)
