उपप्रयन्तो अध्वरं मन्त्रं वोचेमाग्नये । आरे अस्मे च शृण्वते ॥ (१)

अग्नि उत्तम यज्ञ करने वाले यजमान की प्रार्थना सुनने के लिए तैयार हैं. हम उन की उपासना करते हैं. (१)

Agni is ready to listen to the prayers of the host performing the best yajna. We worship them. (1)
अभ्रातृव्यो अना त्वमनापिरिन्द्र जनुषा सनादसि । युधेदापित्वमिच्छसे ॥ (१)

हे इंद्र! आप का कोई शत्रु नहीं जन्मा और समस्त उपासकों को ही अपना बंधु स्वीकारते हैं. आप दुश्मनों के प्रति बंधु भाव से रहित और शत्रुओं के नाश की इच्छा रखते हैं. आप सब के नियंत्रक हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have no enemies and accept all the worshippers as your brothers. You are free from brotherhood towards enemies and desire to destroy enemies. You are the controller of all. (1)
अग्निर्वृत्राणि जङ्घनद्द्रविणस्युर्विपन्यया । समिद्धः शुक्र आहुतः ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप भलीभांति प्रदीप्त, आप प्रकाशमान, धनदाता हैं. आप हवि से पोषण पाते हैं. आप शत्रुओं का नाश करने की कृपा कीजिए. (१)

O agni! You are well illuminated, you are shiny, rich. You get nourishment from Havi. Please destroy your enemies. (1)
अग्ने स्तोमं मनामहे सिध्रमद्य दिविस्पृशः । देवस्य द्रविणस्यवः ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप स्वर्गलोक का स्पर्श करते हैं. हम आप से वैभव चाहते हैं. हम कल्याणदायी स्तोत्रों से आप की स्तुति करते हैं, आप को मनाते हैं. (१)

O agni! You touch heaven. We want glory from you. We praise you with welfare hymns, celebrate you. (1)
यमग्ने पृत्सु मर्त्यमवा वाजेषु यं जुनाः । स यन्ता शश्वतीरिषः ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप युद्ध में जिन लोगों को लगाते हैं, उन्हें अन्न व बल प्रदान करते हैं और मृत्यु से उन की रक्षा करते हैं. (१)

O agni! You give food and strength to those you engage in war and protect them from death. (1)
अभि वायुं वीत्यर्षा गृणानो३ऽभि मित्रावरुणा पूयमानः । अभी नरं धीजवनँ रथेष्ठामभीन्द्रं वृषणं वज्रबाहुम् ॥ (१)

हे सोम! आप स्तुति के बाद वायु, मित्र और वरुण को प्राप्त होने की कृपा कीजिए. आप नेतृत्ववान, बुद्धिदाता और रथ पर सवार अश्चिनीकुमारों की ओर पहुंचें. आप वज्रबाहु इंद्र को प्राप्त होइए. (१)

O Mon! Please receive Vayu, Mitra and Varuna after praise. You reach the leadership, the wise and the Ashchini Kumars riding on the chariot. You get Vajrabahu Indra. (1)
यः स्नीहितीषु पूर्व्यः सञ्जग्मानासु कृष्टिषु । अरक्षद्दाशुषे गयम् ॥ (२)

अग्नि हमेशा प्रकाशित रहते हैं. यजमान जब प्रेम भाव से मिल कर रहते हैं तो वे उन के वैभव की रक्षा करते हैं. (२)

Agni is always illuminated. When the hosts live together with love, they protect their splendor. (2)
न की रेवन्तँ सख्याय विन्दसे पीयन्ति ते सुराश्वः । यदा कृणोषि नदनुँ समूहस्यादित्पितेव हूयसे ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप शक्तिशाली हैं. धन का गर्व करने वाले के आप सखा नहीं होते. जो सुरा पी कर आप को पीड़ित करते हैं, उन के भी आप सखा नहीं होते. जो ज्ञान, गुण संपन्नों के साथ मिल कर चलते हैं, उन को आप पिता के समान प्रेम करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are powerful. You are not friends with those who are proud of money. You are not even friends with those who make you suffer by drinking sura. Those who walk together with the wise, the qualities, you love them as a father. (2)
गर्भे मातुः पितुष्पिता विदिद्युतानो अक्षरे । सीदन्नृतस्य योनिमा ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप पृथ्वी माता के गर्भ में विशेष रूप से प्रकाशित हैं व अंतरिक्ष में पिता की भूमिका में विराजमान हैं. अग्नि यज्ञ में वेदी पर प्रतिष्ठित हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are specially illuminated in the womb of Mother Earth and are seated in the role of father in space. The agni is revered on the altar in yajna. (2)
अग्निर्जुषत नो गिरो होता यो मानुषेष्वा । स यक्षद्दैव्यं जनम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप मनुष्य को दिव्यता प्रदान कीजिए. आप यज्ञ के प्रमुख और मनुष्यों के लिए होता (पुरोहित की तरह) हैं. आप हमारी वाणी सुनने की कृपा कीजिए. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You give divinity to man. You are the head of the yajna and would have for humans (like priests). Please listen to us. (2)
न किरस्य सहन्त्य पर्येता कयस्य चित् । वाजो अस्ति श्रवाय्यः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप ने जिस को बल दिया है, उस बलवान वीर को कोई भी नहीं हरा सकता है. (२)

O agni! No one can defeat the strong hero whom you have strengthened. (2)
अभि वस्त्रा सुवसनान्यर्षाभि धेनूः सुदुघाः पूयमानः । अभि चन्द्रा भर्त्तवे नो हिरण्याभ्यश्वान्रथिनो देव सोम ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप हमें उत्तम वस्त्र, अच्छे दूध वाली गाएं, सुनहरा सोना व धन दीजिए. आप हमें रथ के लिए उत्तम घोड़े दीजिए. (२)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You give us good clothes, good milk cows, golden gold and money. You give us the best horses for the chariot. (2)
स नो वेदो अमात्यमग्नी रक्षतु शन्तमः । उतास्मान्पात्वँहसः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि बहुत कल्याणकारी हैं. वे हमें पापों (बुरी प्रवृत्तियों) से दूर करने व हमारे वैभव की रक्षा करने में हमारी सहायता करने की कृपा करें. (३)
EN English Translation
Agni is very welfare. May they be pleased to help us away from sins (evil tendencies) and protect our splendour. (3)
आ त्वा सहस्रमा शतं युक्ता रथे हिरण्यये । ब्रह्मयुजो हरय इन्द्र केशिनो वहन्तु सोमपीतये ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप का रथ सुनहरा है. आप के घोड़े संकेत मात्र से रथ में जुत जाते हैं. आप के वे घोड़े आप को सोमरस पिलाने के लिए रथ में बैठा कर यज्ञ स्थान में लाने की कृपा करें. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Your chariot is golden. Your horses are tied in the chariot with just signs. Please bring those horses of yours to the yagna place by sitting in the chariot to feed you Someras. (3)
ब्रह्म प्रजावदा भर जातवेदो विचर्षणे । अग्ने यद्दीदयद्दिवि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जोजो सुख स्वर्गलोक में उपलब्ध हैं, आप उन सुखों को हमें प्राप्त कराने की कृपा कीजिए. आप सर्द्ष्टा व विलक्षण हैं. आप हमें ब्रह्मज्ञान व संतान प्रदान कीजिए. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! Whatever happiness is available in heaven, please get those pleasures to us. You are cold and extraordinary. You give us brahmagyan and children. (3)
त्वमग्ने सप्रथा असि जुष्टो होता वरेण्यः । त्वया यज्ञं वि तन्वते ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप वरेण्य (सर्वश्रेष्ठ वरण करने योग्य), होता व यज्ञ में प्रमुख हैं. हम आप के द्वारा यज्ञ का विस्तार करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are prominent in varenya (best selectable), hota and yajna. We extend the yajna through you. (3)
स वाजं विश्वचर्षणिरर्वद्भिरस्तु तरुता । विप्रेभिरस्तु सनिता ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! ब्राह्मणों द्वारा आप की प्रशंसा की जाती है. आप संसार के द्रष्टा हैं. आप घोड़ों के द्वारा हमें युद्ध जिताएं. आप कल्याणकारी हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are praised by Brahmins. You are the seer of the world. You win us the war through horses. You are a benefactor. (3)
अभी नो अर्ष दिव्या वसून्यभि विश्वा पार्थिवा पूयमानः । अभि येन द्रविणमश्नवामाभ्यार्षेयं जमदग्निवन्नः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप हमें दिव्य धन पृथ्वीलोक के सारे वैभव दीजिए. हमें श्रेष्ठ धन को श्रेष्ठ कार्यों में लगाने की क्षमता प्राप्त हो. हमें जमदग्नि आदि ऋषियों जैसी क्षमता प्रदान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (३)
EN English Translation
O Mon! May you give us divine wealth and all the glory of the earth. We should have the ability to put the best money in the best works. Please give us the ability of sages like Jamadagni etc. (3)
उत ब्रुवन्तु जन्तव उदग्निर्वृत्रहाजनि । धनञ्जयो रणेरणे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अन्ने युद्धों में दुश्मनों को हराते हैं व उन का धन जीतते हैं. वे प्रकट हो गए हैं. मंत्र गायक पुरोहित को उन की स्तुति करनी चाहिए. (४)
EN English Translation
In their wars, they defeat the enemies and win their wealth. They have appeared. The mantra singer purohit should praise them. (4)
आ त्वा रथे हिरण्यये हरी मयूरशेप्या । शितिपृष्ठा वहतां मध्वो अन्धसो विवक्षणस्य पीतये ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप के घोड़े मोर जैसे रंग और सफेद पीठ वाले हैं. वे आप को यज्ञ स्थान पर लाने की कृपा करें, ताकि आप मीठा अमृत जैसा सोमरस पी सकें. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Your horses are peacock-like colors and white-backed. May they please bring you to the yajna place, so that you can drink someras like sweet nectar. (4)
अस्य प्रेषा हेमना पूयमानो देवो देवेभिः समपृक्त रसम् । सुतः पवित्रं पर्येति रेभन्मितेव सद्म पशुमन्ति होता ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यजमान के पशु आदि वाले घर में प्रवेश करने के समान कूट व छान कर तैयार किया हुआ सोमरस द्रोणकलश में प्रवेश करता है. प्रकाशमान सोमरस स्वर्ण के समान कांतिमान है और प्रकाशमान वह देवताओं से मिलता है. (४)

Somers, prepared by digging and filtering, enters the dronalash like entering the house of the host's animal etc. The luminous Someras is as bright as gold and the luminous one meets the gods. (4)
अभि त्रिपृष्ठं वृषणं वयोधामाङ्गोषिणमवावशन्त वाणीः । वना वसानो वरुणो न सिन्धूर्वि रत्नधा दयते वार्याणि ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप अन्नदाता, धनदाता और रत्नदाता हैं. आप की ओर हमारी वाणियां दौड़ती हैं. आप स्वयं भी वाणीमय (आवाज करने वाले), वनवासी, जलमय एवं तीनों कालों में बरसने वाले हैं. (४)

O Mon! You are a food provider, a wealth giver and a gemstone. Our words run towards you. You yourself are also the one who makes speeches ( voices), forest dwellers, waters and are going to rain in all three periods. (4)
साकमुक्षो मर्जयन्त स्वसारो दश धीरस्य धीतयो धनुत्रीः । हरिः पर्यद्रवज्जाः सूर्यस्य द्रोणं ननक्षे अत्यो न वाजी ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस दिव्य, पवित्र और हरित आभा वाला है. सूर्य की किरणों से शुद्ध हो कर वह द्रोणकलश में जाता है. वह घोड़े की तरह वेगवान हो कर कलश में जाता है. दस अंगुलियां उस को मसलमसल कर शुद्ध बनाती हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Someras is divine, sacred and has a green aura. After being purified from the rays of the sun, he goes to Dronakalash. He goes to the urn like a horse. Ten fingers make it pure by massaging it. (4)
यज्जायथा अपूर्व्य मघवन्वृत्रहत्याय । तत्पृथिवीमप्रथयस्तदस्तभ्ना उतो दिवम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! शत्रु नाश हेतु आप प्रकट हों. आप के कारण स्वर्गलोक को स्थिरता व पृथ्वीलोक को दृढ़ता मिली. (४)

O Indra! You appear to destroy the enemy. Because of you, heaven got stability and earth got firmness. (4)
अग्ने युङ्क्ष्वा हि ये तवाश्वासो देव साधवः । अरं वहन्त्याशवः ॥ (५)

हे अग्नि! आप के घोड़े शीघ्र जाने वाले हैं. आप के घोड़े भी सामर्थ्यवान हैं. आप उन को रथ में जोतिए. (५)

O agni! Your horses are going to leave soon. Your horses are also powerful. You plough them in the chariot. (5)
पिबा त्वा३स्य गिर्वणः सुतस्य पूर्वपा इव । परिष्कृतस्य रसिन इयमासुतिश्चारुर्मदाय पत्यते ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप पूजनीय हैं. सोमरस मददायी, आनंदवर्द्धक व गुणमय है. आप सब से पहले इस साफ छने हुए सोमरस को पीने की कृपा करें. (५)

O Indra! You are revered. Someras is informative, joyful and virtuous. Please drink this clean filtered somers first of all. (5)
भद्रा वस्त्रा समन्याऽऽ३ वसानो महान्कविर्निवचनानि शँसन् । आ वच्यस्व चम्वोः पूयमानो विचक्षणो जागृविर्देववीतौ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप जाग्रत, विलक्षण, महान, कवि, अनिवर्चनीय, प्रशंसित एवं कल्याणकारी हैं. आप वीरता से समन्वित (युक्त) हैं. आप पवित्र बरतनों में प्रवेश कीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are awake, extraordinary, great, poet, unspeakable, admired and benevolent. You are heroically coordinated. You enter the holy utensils. (5)
शूरग्रामः सर्ववीरः सहावान्जेता पवस्व सनिता धनानि । तिग्मायुधः क्षिप्रधन्वा समत्स्वषाढः साह्वान्पृतनासु शत्रून् ॥ (५)

हे सोम! आप सब से शूरवीर, सहनशील, विजेता, धनदाता, पवित्र, शीघ्र गति वाले, तीक्ष्ण अस्त्रशस्त्र वाले व शत्रुओं को हराने वाले हैं. आप ट्रोणकलश में बरसिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are the most brave, tolerant, conqueror, rich, holy, quick-moving, sharp weapons and defeaters. You rain in the tronacle. (5)
सं मातृभिर्न शिशुर्वावशानो वृषा दधन्वे पुरुवारो अद्भिः । मर्यो न योषामभि निष्कृतं यन्त्सं गच्छते कलश उस्रियाभिः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस सर्वश्रेष्ठ, देवताओं को प्रिय व बलवान है. वह दूध व जल में ऐसे एकमेक हो जाता है, जैसे पुरुष और स्त्री तथा मां और बच्चा एकदूसरे में एकमेक हो जाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Someras is the best, dear to the gods and strong. It becomes one in milk and water, just as men and women and mother and child become one in each other. (5)
तत्ते यज्ञो अजायत तदर्क उत हस्कृतिः । तद्विश्वमभिभूरसि यज्जातं यच्च जन्त्वम् ॥ (५)

हे इंद्र! आप के प्रकट होने पर सूर्य स्थापित हुए व उत्पन्न हुए. उस के बाद प्राणी उत्पन्न होने शुरू हुए. आप सभी प्राणियों में व्याप्त हो गए. आप ने श्रेष्ठ यज्ञ कर्मो को उपजाया. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The sun set and arose when you appeared. After that the creatures began to arise. You permeated all beings. You have produced the best yajna karma. (5)
