पवस्व वृष्टिमा सु नोऽपामूर्मिं दिवस्परि । अयक्ष्मा बृहतीरिषः ॥ (१)

हे सोम! आप पवित्र व दिव्य, जल को लहराएं. आप अक्षय स्वास्थ्य प्रदान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (१)

O Mon! You wave the water, pure and divine. Please provide you with renewable health. (1)
बभ्रवे नु स्वतवसेऽरुणाय दिविस्पृशे । सोमाय गाथमर्चत ॥ (१)

हे यजमानो! सोम ललाई वाले भूरे और शक्तिमान हैं. वे स्वर्गलोक को स्पर्श करते हैं. आप उन दिव्य सोम की उपासना कीजिए. (१)

O hosts! Som is brown and powerful with lalai. They touch heaven. You worship that divine Soma. (1)
विभ्राड् बृहत्पिबतु सोम्यं मध्वायुर्दधद्यज्ञपतावविह्रुतम् । वातजूतो यो अभिरक्षति त्मना प्रजाः पिपर्ति बहुधा वि राजति ॥ (१)

सूर्य प्रकाशमान हैं. वे प्रजा का पालन करते हैं, यजमान को निरोग बनाते हैं, लंबी आयु देते हैं, हवा बहाते हैं व सब के रक्षक हैं. इंद्र कई रूपों में सुशोभित हो रहे हैं. वे भरपूर सोमपान करें. (१)

The sun is shining. They follow the people, make the host healthy, give long life, blow wind and are the protectors of all. Indra is adorned in many forms. They should drink a lot. (1)
जनीयन्तो न्वग्रवः पुत्रीयन्तः सुदानवः । सरस्वन्तँ हवामहे ॥ (१)

हे सरस्वती! आप श्रेष्ठ कार्यो में अग्रगण्या हैं. हम अच्छी संतान व दान के आकांक्षी हैं. हम आप को आमंत्रित करते हैं. (१)

O Saraswati! You are at the forefront of best work. We are good children and aspiring for charity. We invite you. (1)
अयँ सोम इन्द्र तुभ्यँ सुन्वे तुभ्यं पवते त्वमस्य पाहि । त्वँ ह यं चकृषे त्वं ववृष इन्दुं मदाय युज्याय सोमम् ॥ (१)

हे इंद्र! आप के लिए सोमरस तैयार किया जाता है. आप इस को पीजिए. आप ही उस को बरसाते हैं, उपजाते हैं. आप आनंद हेतु इसे ग्रहण कीजिए. आप हमें इस से मिलाइए. हम आप की शरण में हैं. (१)

O Indra! Somers is prepared for you. You drink this. You rain it, you grow it. You accept it for pleasure. You introduce us to this. We are in your shelter. (1)
आ सुते सिञ्चत श्रियँ रोदस्योरभिश्रियम् । रसा दधीत वृषभम् ॥ (१)

हे देवताओ! सोमरस चमकीला और दूधिया है. आप आकाश और पृथ्वी पर उस सोमरस को मिलाइए. वह दूधियापन सोमरस को अपने में मिला लेता है. (१)

O gods! Somerus is bright and milky. You mix that somerus on the sky and the earth. He merges milkiness someras into himself. (1)
तया पवस्व धारया यया गाव इहागमन् । जन्यास उप नो गृहम् ॥ (२)

हे सोम! आप उन दिव्य जलधाराओं से पवित्र होइए, जिन से दुधारू गाएं हमारे यहां आ सकें, धनधान्य हमारे घर पहुंच सकें. (२)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You should be purified from those divine streams, through which milch cows can come to our place, wealth can reach our home. (2)
हस्तच्युतेभिरद्रिभिः सुतँ सोमं पुनीतन । मधावा धावता मधु ॥ (२)

हे यजमानो! पत्थरों से कूट कर सोमरस निकाला गया है. स्वच्छ कर के छाना गया है. आप उस सोमरस में गाय का दूध मिलाइए. (२)

O hosts! Someras has been extracted by crushing stones. Clean tax has been filtered. You add cow's milk to that someras. (2)
विभ्राड् बृहत्सुभृतं वाजसातमं धर्मं दिवो धरुणे सत्यमर्पितम् । अमित्रहा वृत्रहा दस्युहन्तमं ज्योतिर्जज्ञे असुरहा सपत्नहा ॥ (२)

सूर्य बहुत प्रकाशमान व अन्न और बलदाता हैं. वे धर्म से स्वर्गलोक को धारण करते हैं, अमित्रो के नाशक हैं, वृत्रहंता हैं. वे शत्रुओं, राक्षसों व दुष्टों के नाशक हैं. वे सर्वत्र अपना प्रकाश फैलाते हैं. (२)

The sun is very bright and gives food and strength. They imbibe heaven by dharma, are the destroyers of Amitro, they are greater. They are the destroyers of enemies, demons and the wicked. They spread their light everywhere. (2)
उत नः प्रिया प्रियासु सप्तस्वसा सुजुष्टा । सरस्वती स्तोम्या भूत् ॥ (२)

हे सरस्वती! आप हमें प्रिय हैं. आप की सात बहनें हैं. आप हमें उन से जोडिए. हम आप की स्तुति करते हैं. (२)

O Saraswati! You are dear to us. You have seven sisters. You connect us with them. We praise you. (2)
स ईँ रथो न भुरिषाडयोजि महः पुरूणि सातये वसूनि । आदीं विश्वा नहुष्याणि जाता स्वर्षाता वन ऊर्ध्वा नवन्त ॥ (२)

हे इंद्र! आप युद्धों में हमारे शत्रुओं को नष्ट कर देते हैं. रथ में जैसे ज्यादा वजन हो जाता है, वैसे ही आप हमें धन दीजिए. आप हमें धन देते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You destroy our enemies in wars. Just as there is more weight in the chariot, so you give us money. You give us money. (2)
ते जानत स्वमोक्या३ँ सं वत्सासो न मातृभिः । मिथो नसन्त जामिभिः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
भीड़ में भी जैसे बछड़े अपनी मां गायों के पास चले जाते हैं, वैसे ही सोम आश्रयदाताओं के पास चले जाते हैं. गाएं जैसे अपने बाड़ों को जानती हैं, वैसे ही ये अपने जाने योग्य स्थान को जानते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Even in the crowd, just as calves go to their mother cows, Som goes to the shelters. Just as the cows know their enclosures, they know their place to go. (2)
घृतं पवस्व धारया यज्ञेषु देववीतमः । अस्मभ्यं वृष्टिमा पव ॥ (३)

हे सोम! आप देवताओं द्वारा चाहे गए घृत की पवित्र धाराएं चुआइए. आप हमारे लिए मूसलाधार बरसात कीजिए. (३)

O Mon! You should choose the holy streams of ghrit desired by the gods. You rain heavily for us. (3)
नमसेदुप सीदत दध्नेदभि श्रीणीतन । इन्दुमिन्द्रे दधातन ॥ (३)

हे यजमान! आप सोमरस में दही मिलाइए. इस सोमरस को नमस्कारपूर्वक पवित्र बनाइए. उस के बाद आप यह सोमरस इंद्र को पीने के लिए भेंट कीजिए. (३)

O host! You add curd to somers. Make this Someras holy with namaskar. After that you offer this someras to Indra to drink. (3)
इदँ श्रेष्ठं ज्योतिषां ज्योतिरुत्तमं विश्वजिद्धनजिदुच्यते बृहत् । विश्वभ्राड् भ्राजो महि सूर्यो दृश उरु पप्रथे सह ओजो अच्युतम् ॥ (३)

सूर्य ज्योतिमान और क्षमतावान हैं. वे पूरी पृथ्वी को प्रकाशित करते हैं. वे अच्युत हैं. वे बल के साथ रहते हैं. वे धन जीतने वाले हैं. उन की ज्योति विशाल, ज्योतियों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ एवं विश्व को जीतने वाली है. (३)

The Sun is light and capable. They illuminate the whole earth. They are unsung. They live with force. They are going to win money. His light is huge, the best of the lights and the winner of the world. (3)
तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि । धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥ (३)

हम उन सविता देवता का वरेण्य तेज धारण करना चाहते हैं, जो हमारी बुद्धि को श्रेष्ठ पथ की ओर उन्मुख एवं प्रेरित करते हैं. (३)

We want to wear the varenya tej of savita devta, who orients and inspires our intellect towards the best path. (3)
शुष्मी शर्धो न मारुतं पवस्वानभिशस्ता दिव्या यथा विट् । आपो न मक्षू सुमतिर्भवा नः सहस्राप्साः पृतनाषाण्न यज्ञः ॥ (३)

हे सोम! आप पवित्र हैं. आप हमें मरुदगणों जैसा बल प्राप्त कराइए. आप यज्ञवत पवित्र और अनेक प्रकार से सुशोभित होते हैं. आप शत्रुओं को जीतने वाले और जल जैसे पवित्र हैं. हमें वैसी ही पवित्र बुद्धि दीजिए. जैसे पवित्र प्रजा इर्ष्या, द्वेष से दूर रहती है, वैसे ही हम भी दुषप्रवृत्तियों से दूर रहें. (३)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are holy. You give us the same strength as the Deserts. You are pure and adorned in many ways. You are the conqueror of enemies and as holy as water. Give us the same holy intellect. Just as the holy people stay away from jealousy, malice, so should we also stay away from evil tendencies. (3)
उप स्रक्वेषु बप्सतः कृण्वते धरुणं दिवि । इन्द्रे अग्ना नमः स्वः ॥ (३)

इंद्र और अग्नि अपनी ज्वाला से हवि को स्वर्गलोक तक पहुंचा देते हैं. उस के बाद सभी इंद्र और अग्नि को पोषक बनाते हैं. (३)

Indra and Agni take Havi to heaven with their flame. After that, everyone makes Indra and Agni nutritious. (3)
स न ऊर्जे व्या३व्ययं पवित्रं धाव धारया । देवासः शृणवन्हि कम् ॥ (४)

हे सोम! आप हमें ऊर्जा प्रदान कीजिए. आप अव्यय व पवित्र धारावान हैं. आप धाराओं से दौड़ कर कलश में प्रवेश कीजिए. आप की आवाज सुन कर देवतागण आनंदित हों. (४)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You give us energy. You are unlovable and holy. You run through the streams and enter the urn. May the gods rejoice to hear your voice. (4)
अमित्रहा विचर्षणिः पवस्व सोम शं गवे । देवेभ्यो अनुकामकृत् ॥ (४)

हे सोम! आप पवित्र हैं. आप सब कुछ देखने वाले हैं. आप देवताओं के लिए उन की इच्छानुसार काम करने वाले हैं. आप शत्रुहंता हैं. आप हमारी गायों के लिए सुखशांति प्रदान कीजिए. (४)

O Mon! You are holy. You're going to see everything. You are going to work for the gods as they wish. You are enemies. You give peace and tranquility for our cows. (4)
इन्द्र क्रतुं न आ भर पिता पुत्रेभ्यो यथा । शिक्षा णो अस्मिन्पुरुहूत यामनि जीव ज्योतिरशीमहि ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! पिता जैसे पुत्रों का लालनपालन करता है, वैसे ही आप हमारा पोषण कीजिए. आप हमें यज्ञ के श्रेष्ठ फल प्रदान कीजिए. हम जीवों को आप दिव्य ज्योति दीजिए. हम और अनेक लोग सहायता के लिए आप को पुकारते रहते हैं. (४)

O Indra! Just as the father nurtures sons, so you nurture us. You give us the best fruits of yajna. Give you divine light to us creatures. We and many people keep calling on you for help. (4)
सोमानाँ स्वरणं कृणुहि ब्रह्मणस्पते । कक्षीवन्तँ य औशिजः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ब्रह्मणस्पति! आप ने जैसे उशिज से उत्पन्न पुत्र कक्षीवान को ज्ञानी, यशस्वी बनाया, उसी तरह हम सोमयागियों को भी बनाने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
O Brahmanaspati! Just as you made The Chamber, the son born of Ushij, knowledgeable, successful, so please make us Somayagis also. (4)
त्वमग्ने यज्ञानाँ होता विश्वेषाँ हितः । देवेभिर्मानुषे जने ॥ (४)

हे अग्नि! आप को देवताओं ने मनुष्य के कल्याण हेतु नियुक्त किया है. आप यज्ञों के होता (पुरोहित) हैं. (४)

O agni! You have been appointed by the gods for the welfare of human beings. You are the hota (priest) of yagyas. (4)
तदिदास भुवनेषु ज्येष्टं यतो जज्ञा उग्रस्त्वेषनृम्णः । सद्यो जज्ञानो नि रिणाति शत्रूननु यं विश्वे मदन्त्यूमाः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सभी भुवनों में वे ब्रह्म सब से बड़े कहलाए, सर्वत्र उन की दीप्ति व्याप्त हुई. उन के बल से सूर्य प्रकट हुए, जिन के प्रकट होने से शत्रु समाप्त हो जाते हैं. सभी प्राणी उन्हें देखते ही खुश हो जाते है. (४)
EN English Translation
Among all bhuvanas, he was called Brahman the greatest, his radiance spread everywhere. The sun appeared by their strength, by whose appearance the enemies are eliminated. All beings are happy to see them. (4)
पवमानो असिष्यदद्रक्षाँस्यपजङ्घनत् । प्रत्नवद्रोचयन्रुचः ॥ (५)

पवित्र, शत्रुनाशक, प्रकाशमान और छना हुआ सोमरस द्रोणकलश में झरता है. (५)

The holy, hostile, luminous and filtered Someras flows in Dronakalash. (5)
इन्द्राय सोम पातवे मदाय परि षिच्यसे । मनश्चिन्मनसस्पतिः ॥ (५)

इंद्र मन के मालिक हैं. वे मन में रमते हैं. ऐसे इंद्र के पीने के लिए, मद देने के लिए सोमरस परिष्कृत होता है. (५)

Indra is the master of the mind. They ruminate in the mind. For such Indra's drinking, someras is refined to give the item. (5)
मा नो अज्ञाता वृजना दुराध्यो३ माशिवासोऽव क्रमुः । त्वया वयं प्रवतः शश्वतीरपोऽति शूर तरामसि ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिन का आनाजाना आज्ञात हो, जो पापाचारी हों, जो दुर्बुद्धि हों वे हमारा कुछ न बिगाड़ सकें. आप हमारी रक्षा कीजिए. अपने संरक्षण में हमें अनेक विघ्न रूपी प्रवाहो से पार पहुंचाइए. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Those who are allowed to come, those who are papacharis, those who are foolish, they can not harm us. You protect us. Under your protection, overcome many obstacles in the flow of obstacles. (5)
अग्न आयूँषि पवसे आ सुवोर्जं इषं च नः । आरे बाधस्व दुच्छुनाम् ॥ (५)

हे अग्नि! आप दुष्टों को हम से दूर भगाइए. आप हमें दीर्घायु बनाएं. हमें बल व पुष्टिवर्द्धक अन्न दीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You drive the wicked away from us. May you make us longevity. Give us strength and confirmatory food. (5)
स नो मन्द्राभिरध्वरे जिह्वाभिर्यजा महः । आ देवान्वक्षि यक्षि च ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप हमारे यज्ञ में अपनी जिह्वाओं (लपटों) से देवताओं का यजन कीजिए. आप देवताओं को आमंत्रित कीजिए और देवताओं तक तृप्तिकारी हवि पहुंचाने की कृपा कीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You worship the gods with your tongues (flames) in our yajna. You invite the gods and please convey the fulfillment of the havi to the gods. (5)
वावृधानः शवसा भूर्योजाः शत्रुर्दासाय भियसं दधाति । अव्यनच्च व्यनच्च सस्नि सं ते नवन्त प्रभृता मदेषु ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप ने अपनी क्षमता से बढ़ोतरी पाई. आप शक्तिमान, दुष्टों के दुश्मन हैं और उन्हें व्यय देते हैं. आप चराचर के संचालक हैं. हम उन्हें (इंद्र) एक साथ नमन एवं उन की उपासना करते हैं. हम उन्हें प्रसन्नता देते हैं और स्वयं भी प्रसन्न होते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You grew up to your potential. You are powerful, enemies of the wicked and give them expenses. You are the operator of grazing. We bow down to him (Indra) together and worship him. We give them happiness and we are happy ourselves. (5)
