आ व इन्द्र कृविं यथा वाजयन्तः शतक्रतुम् । मँहिष्ठँ सिञ्च इन्दुभिः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! जैसे अन्न चाहने वाले खेत को जल से सींचते हैं, वैसे ही बल (पराक्रम) चाहने वाले हम पूजनीय इंद्र को सोमरस से सींचते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Just as those who want food irrigate the field with water, similarly those who want force (might) water the revered Indra with someras. (1)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप सैकड़ों प्रकार के बल से पूर्ण हो कर हमारे यज्ञ में पधारिए. आप हजारों प्रकार के अन्न से युक्त हो कर हमारे यज्ञ में पधारिए. आप अनेक रस ले कर हमारे यज्ञ में पधारिए. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You come to our yagna full of hundreds of types of force. You should come to our yagna with thousands of types of food. You come to our yagna with many juices. (2)
आ बुन्दं वृत्रहा ददे जातः पृच्छद्वि मातरम् । क उग्राः के ह शृण्विरे ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! जन्म लेते ही हाथ में बाण ले कर वृत्रासुर को मारने वाले इंद्र ने अपनी मां से पूछा कि अन्य प्रसिद्ध वीर कौनकौन से हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O hosts! As soon as he was born, Indra, who killed Vritrasura with an arrow in his hand, asked his mother who the other famous heroes were from. (3)
बृबदुक्थँ हवामहे सृप्रकरस्नमूतये । साधः कृण्वन्तमवसे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
लोक की रक्षा और पालन के लिए हम साधन सहित इंद्र को आमंत्रित करते हैं. इंद्र की बहुत स्तुति की जाती है. (४)
EN English Translation
We invite Indra with the means to protect and follow the people. Indra is highly praised. (4)
ऋजुनीती नो वरुणो मित्रो नयति विद्वान् । अर्यमा देवैः सजोषाः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मित्र और वरुण देवता हमें सरल गति से न्याय के उत्तम पथ पर ले जाते हैं. अन्य देवताओं के साथ अर्यमा देवता भी सरल गति से हमें उस स्थान पर पहुंचाएं. (५)
EN English Translation
Friends and Varuna Devta take us on the best path of justice at a simple pace. Along with other gods, Aryama Devta should also take us to that place at a simple pace. (5)
दूरादिहेव यत्सतोऽरुणप्सुरशिश्वितत् । वि भानुं विश्वथातनत् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दूर आकाश से पास आती उषा प्रकाश फैलाने वाली है, जिस से सारा जग प्रकाशित हो जाता है. (६)
EN English Translation
Usha, who comes close from the distant sky, is going to spread light, from which the whole world is illuminated. (6)
आ नो मित्रावरुणा घृतैर्गव्यूतिमुक्षतम् । मध्वा रजाँसि सुक्रतू ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मित्र और वरुण देवता अच्छे काम करने वाले हैं. ये देवता हमारी गायों के समूह को घी दूध से सीचें. ये देवता परलोकों को भी मधुर रस (अमृत) से सींचें. (७)
EN English Translation
Friends and Varun Devta are going to do good work. These gods should irrigate our group of cows with ghee milk. These gods should also water the hereafter with sweet juice (nectar). (7)
उदु त्ये सूनवो गिरः काष्ठा यज्ञेष्वत्नत । वाश्रा अभिज्ञु यातवे ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्रसिद्ध गर्जना करते हुए मरुत् देवता यज्ञ में जल के समान फैलते हैं. जल का विस्तार करते हैं. उस जल को पीने के लिए र॑भाती हुई गायों के समूह को घुटनों तक के पानी से जाना पड़ता है. (८)
EN English Translation
While roaring famously, the deserted deity spreads like water in the yagna. Expand water. To drink that water, a group of cows have to go with knee-deep water. (8)
इदं विष्णुर्वि चक्रमे त्रेधा नि दधे पदम् । समूढमस्य पाँसुले ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विष्णु के वामन अवतार ने तीन पैरों से विश्व को नाप लिया. उन के धूल से भरे चरणों के नापे गए स्थान में सारा जग समाया. (९)
EN English Translation
The Vamana avatar of Vishnu measured the world with three legs. The whole world was contained in the measured place of their dusty feet. (9)
