विश्वेभिरग्ने अग्निभिरिमं यज्ञमिदं वचः । चनो घाः सहसा यहो ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप समस्त अग्नियों के साथ यज्ञ में पधारिए. आप इस यज्ञ में हमारे वचन सुनिए. आप हमें अन्न प्रदान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You come to the yajna with all the agnis. You listen to our words in this yajna. Please provide us food. (1)
वायो शुक्रो अयामि ते मध्वो अग्रं दिविष्टिषु । आ याहि सोमपीतये स्पार्हो देव नियुत्वता ॥ (१)

हे वायु! हम यज्ञ में सब से पहले आप को सोमरस चढ़ाते हैं. आप आदरणीय हैं. हे देव! आप नियुत नामक घोड़े के साथ सोमपान के लिए आ जाइए. (१)
EN English Translation
O wind! We offer someras to you first in the yajna. You are respected. O God! You come to Sompan with a horse called Nyut. (1)
यज्ञ इन्द्रमवर्धयद्यद्भूमिं व्यवर्तयत् । चक्राण ओपशं दिवि ॥ (१)

यज्ञ इंद्र की बढ़ोतरी व भूमि को विस्तृत करते हैं. वे स्वर्गलोक से मेघों को वर्षा के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं. (१)

Yajna expands indra's growth and land. They inspire clouds from heaven to rain. (1)
नमस्ते अग्न ओजसे गृणन्ति देव कृष्टयः । अमैरमित्रमर्दय ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! हम बल प्राप्ति के लिए आप को आमंत्रित करते हैं. आप अमित्रों का मर्दन करने की कृपा कीजिए. (१)

O agni! We invite you to gain force. Please insult the unfriendly. (1)
यच्चिद्धि शश्वा तना देवन्देवं यजामहे । त्वे इद्धूयते हविः ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! हम इंद्र, वरुण और अन्य देवताओं को हवि दे कर भजन करते हैं. वह सब आप तक पहुंचता है. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! We worship Indra, Varuna and other gods. That's all it reaches you. (2)
इन्द्रश्च वायवेषाँ सोमानां पीतिमर्हथः । युवाँ हि यन्तीन्दवो निम्नमापो न सध्र्यक् ॥ (२)

हे इंद्र! हे वायु! आप सोमपान के योग्य हैं. जलधार जैसे नीचे की ओर जाती है, वैसे ही आप दोनों के लिए सोमरस की धारा पहुंचती है. (२)

O Indra! O wind! You are worthy of sompan. As the stream goes down, so does the stream of Somers for both of you. (2)
व्या३न्तरिक्षमतिरन्मदे सोमस्य रोचना । इन्द्रो यदभिनद्वलम् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र मेघों को भेदते व अंतरिक्ष में विशेष शोभा बढ़ाते हैं. वे सोमरस से प्रसन्न होते हैं. (२)

Indra penetrates the clouds and makes special beauty in space. They are pleased with Someras. (2)
कुवित्सु नो गविष्टयेऽग्ने संवेषिषो रयिम् । उरुकृदुरु णस्कृधि ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! आप महान हैं. आप से हम महानता चाहते हैं. आप हम गौ इच्छुकों को प्रचुर गोधन प्रदान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are great. From you we want greatness. Please provide abundant godhan to us cow-seekers. (2)
प्रियो नो अस्तु विश्पतिर्होता मन्द्रो वरेण्यः । प्रियाः स्वग्नयो वयम् ॥ (३)

अग्नि हमें प्रिय हैं. वे विश्वपति, होता और वरेण्य हैं. उन्हें हम सब प्रिय हों. (३)
EN English Translation
Agni is dear to us. They are Vishwapati, Hota and Varenya. May we all be dear to them. (3)
वायविन्द्रश्च शुष्मिणा सरथँ शवसस्पती । नियुत्वन्ता न ऊतय आ यातँ सोमपीतये ॥ (३)

हे इंद्र! हे वायु! आप बलवान व क्षमतावान हैं. आप नियुत घोड़े को रथ में जोत कर सोमपान हेतु आइए. (३)

O Indra! O wind! You are strong and capable. You plough the appointed horse in the chariot and come for sompan. (3)
उदगा आजदङ्गिरोभ्य आविष्कृण्वन्गुहा सतीः । अर्वाञ्चं नुनुदे वलम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य ने गुफा की किरणों को बाहर निकाल कर उसे अंगिराओं (अंगधारियों) तक पहुंचाया. उन किरणों को छिपा कर रखने वाला राक्षस भाग गया. (३)
EN English Translation
The sun took out the rays of the cave and brought it to the angiras (angdharis). The monster that hid those rays ran away. (3)
मा नो अग्ने महाधने परा वर्ग्भारभृद्यथा । संवर्गँ सँ रयिं जय ॥ (३)

हे अग्नि! आप हम से विमुख मत होइए. भारवाही जैसे बोझा ढोता है, वैसे ही आप श्रु समूह से जीते हुए धन को हमारे लिए ढोइए. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! Don't turn away from us. Just as the load carries the burden, so you carry the money you have won from the Shrew group for us. (3)
इन्द्रं वो विश्वतस्परि हवामहे जनेभ्यः । अस्माकमस्तु केवलः ॥ (४)

हे यजमानो! इंद्र सभी लोकों से ऊपर हैं. लोगों के कल्याण के लिए हम उन का आह्वान करते हैं. आप की कृपा से हम सब का कल्याण हो. (४)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Indra is above all worlds. We call upon them for the welfare of the people. May it be the welfare of all of us by your grace. (4)
अध क्षपा परिष्कृतो वाजाँ अभि प्र गाहते । यदी विवस्वतो धियो हरिँ हिन्वन्ति यातवे ॥ (४)

हे सोम! आप पौष्टिक अन्न देते हैं. आधी रात के बीत जाने पर छने हुए सोम में जल मिलाया जाता है. यजमान की बुद्धि हरित सोमरस को कलश की ओर उन्मुख करती है. (४)

O Mon! You give nutritious food. At the end of midnight, water is added to the filtered som. The wisdom of the host orients the green somerasa towards the urn. (4)
त्यमु वः सत्रासाहं विश्वासु गीर्ष्वायतम् । आ च्यावयस्यूतये ॥ (४)

हे इंद्र! आप शत्रुओं को एक साथ मारते हैं. हम अपनी रक्षा के लिए स्तुतियों से आप को आमंत्रित करते हैं. (४)

O Indra! You kill enemies together. We invite you from eulogies to protect you. (4)
समस्य मन्यवे विशो विश्वा नमन्त कृष्टयः । समुद्रायेव सिन्धवः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
नदियां जैसे समुद्र की ओर जाती हैं, वैसे ही सारे लोग आप के क्रोध के सामने नत हो जाते हैं. (४)

As the rivers go towards the sea, so all the people bow down in front of your anger. (4)
स नो वृषन्नमुं चरुँ सत्रादावन्नपा वृधि । अस्मभ्यमप्रतिष्कुतः ॥ (५)

हे इंद्र! हमारे द्वारा समर्पित हवि ग्रहण कीजिए. हमारी इच्छाओं को खाली न लौटाएं. आप जल्दी से जल्दी फल देने वाले हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Accept the dedicated havi by us. Don't let our desires go blank. You are going to bear fruit as soon as possible. (5)
तमस्य मर्जयामसि मदो य इन्द्रपातमः । यं गाव आसभिर्दधुः पुरा नूनं च सूरयः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस मददायी है. यह इंद्र के पीने योग्य है. इसे आज भी पीया जाता है. यह पहले भी पीया जाता था. सोम को गाएं भी खुशीखुशी खाती हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Someras is intoxicating. It is indra's drinkable. It is still drunk today. It was drunk earlier too. Songs on Som also eat happiness. (5)
युध्मँ सन्तमनर्वाणँ सोमपामनपच्युतम् । नरमवार्यक्रतुम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप युद्ध करते हुए कभी नहीं हारते. सोमपान के लिए आप का मन दृढ़ निश्चय वाला है. हम यज्ञ में आप का सहयोग चाहते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You never lose while fighting. Your mind is determined for Sompan. We want your cooperation in the yagna. (5)
वि चिद्वृत्रस्य दोधतः शिरो बिभेद वृष्णिना । वज्रेण शतपर्वणा ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने अपनी शक्ति से सैकड़ों धार वाले वज्र से वृत्रासुर का सिर काट डाला. वृत्रासुर ने संसार को भयभीत कर रखा था. (५)
EN English Translation
Indra cut off Vritrasura's head with hundreds of sharp vajra with his power. Vritrasura had frightened the world. (5)
बृषा यूथेव वँसगः कृष्टीरियर्त्योजसा । ईशानो अप्रतिष्कुतः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप बलवान हैं. आप उसी तरह उपासकों की इच्छा पूरी करने जाते हैं, जैसे गायों के झुंड में बैल जाता है. आप ईश्वर हैं. आप हमारे विरोधी नहीं हो सकते. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are strong. You go to fulfill the wishes of worshippers in the same way as a bull goes in a herd of cows. You are God. You can't be our opponent. (6)
तं गाथया पुराण्या पुनानमभ्यनूषत । उतो कृपन्त धीतयो देवानां नाम बिभ्रतीः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यजमान पुरानी गाथाओं से सोमरस की उपासना करते हैं. यज्ञ कर्म हेतु चमकता हुआ सोम देवताओं को आहुति के रूप में भी दिया जाता है. (६)
EN English Translation
The hosts worship Someras from old stories. A shining Soma is also given as an offering to the gods for yajna karma. (6)
शिक्षा ण इन्द्र राय आ पुरु विद्वाँ ऋचीषम । अवा नः पार्ये धने ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप सर्वज्ञाता व दर्शनीय हैं. आप हमारे लिए धन दीजिए. शत्रुओं से भी आप को जो धन मिले, वह हमें दीजिए. (६)

O Indra! You are omniscient and visible. You give us money. Give us the money you get from enemies too. (6)
ओजस्तदस्य तित्विष उभे यत्समवर्त्तयत् । इन्द्रश्चर्मेव रोदसी ॥ (६)

इंद्र ने अपने ओज से स्वर्गलोक और भूलोक को चमड़ी की तरह धारण कर रखा है. (६)

Indra has kept heaven and earth like skin with his oz. (6)
त्वं नश्चित्र ऊत्या वसो राधाँसि चोदय । अस्य रायस्त्वमग्ने रथीरसि विदा गाधं तुचे तु नः ॥ (७)

हे अग्नि! आप हमें संरक्षण दीजिए. आप जो धन अपने रथ से ले जाते हैं, वह हमें दीजिए. आप विलक्षण हैं. हमारी पीढ़ियां भी यशस्वी हों. (७)

O agni! You give us protection. Give us the money you take away from your chariot. You are fantastic. May our generations also be successful. (7)
अश्वं न त्वा वारवन्तं वन्दध्या अग्निं नमोभिः । सम्राजन्तमध्वराणाम् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप यज्ञ के सम्राट् हैं. घुड़सवार जैसे घोड़े से प्रेम करता है, उसी तरह हम आप से प्रेम व आप को नमस्कार करते हैं. (७)

O agni! You are the emperor of yajna. Just as the horseman loves a horse, so we love you and greet you. (7)
तव त्यदिन्द्रियं बृहत्तव दक्ष्ममुत क्रतुम् । वज्रँ शिशाति धिषणा वरेण्यम् ॥ (७)

हे इंद्र! आप अपनी विशालता, दक्षता और श्रेष्ठ बुद्धि से यज्ञ और वज्र को तीक्ष्ण बनाते हैं.(७)

O Indra! You sharpen the yajna and vajra with your vastness, efficiency and superior intelligence. (7)

हे अग्नि! आप सहयोगी व स्वतंत्र हैं. आप अपने रक्षा साधनों से हमारी व पीढ़ियों की रक्षा कीजिए. आप प्राकृतिक प्रकोपों और दुष्ट प्रवृत्तियों से हमें बचाइए. (८)

O agni! You are cooperative and independent. You protect us and generations with your protective means. You save us from natural outbreaks and evil tendencies. (8)
स घा नः सूनुः शवसा पृथुप्रगामा सुशेवः । मीढ्वाँ अस्माकं बभूयात् ॥ (८)

हे अग्नि! हम आप के पुत्र हैं. हम विधिविधान से आप की उपासना करते हैं. आप बहुत शीघ्रगामी हैं. आप हमारे लिए सुखदायी हों. (८)

O agni! We are your sons. We worship you by law. You are very quick. May you be pleasant to us. (8)
