अग्निः प्रत्नेन जन्मना शुम्भानस्तन्वा३ँ स्वाम् । कविर्विप्रेण ववृधे ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप प्रकाशमान व मेधावी हैं. पुराने स्तोत्रों से यजमान आप को प्रज्वलित कर के आप का विस्तार करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are bright and meritorious. With old hymns, the hosts light you and expand you. (1)
ऊर्ज्जो नपातमा हुवेऽग्निं पावकशोचिषम् । अस्मिन्यज्ञे स्वध्वरे ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम अपने इस यज्ञ में अग्नि को आमंत्रित करते हैं. आप पवित्र व प्रकाशमान हैं. आप ऊर्जा को नीचे नहीं गिरने देते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! We invite agni to our yagna. You are holy and bright. You don't let the energy fall down. (2)
स नो मित्रमहस्त्वमग्ने शुक्रेण शोचिषा । देवैरा सत्सि बर्हिषि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप अपनी चमकीली लपटों से अन्य देवताओं के साथ कुश के आसन पर विराजिए. आप हमारे मित्र हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You sit on the seat of Kush with other gods with your bright flames. You are our friend. (3)
उत्ते शुष्मासो अस्थू रक्षो भिन्दन्तो अद्रिवः । नुदस्व याः परिस्पृधः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! पत्थरों से कूट कर आप का रस निकाला जाता है. आप की उमड़ती हुई लहरों से राक्षसों का नाश होता है. जो हम से प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हैं, आप उन शत्रुओं का नाश करने की कृपा कीजिए. (४)
EN English Translation
O Mon! Your juice is extracted by crushing with stones. Demons are destroyed by the rising waves of you. Those who compete with us, please destroy those enemies. (4)
अया निजघ्निरोजसा रथसङ्गे धने हिते । स्तवा अबिभ्युषा हृदा ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप सामर्थ्यवान व शत्रुनाशक हैं, रथ को साथ ले कर शत्रुओं को नष्ट कीजिए. हम हृदय से आप से धन देने के लिए अनुरोध करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are powerful and destroyers, take the chariot along and destroy the enemies. We sincerely request you to give money. (5)
अस्य व्रतानि नाधृषे पवमानस्य दूढ्या । रुज यस्त्वा पृतन्यति ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप पवित्र हैं. आप के दृढ़ व्रतों से दुष्ट राक्षस प्रगति नहीं कर सकते. जो शन्रु युद्ध करना चाहते हैं, आप उन शत्रुओं का नाश कीजिए. (६)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are holy. Evil demons cannot progress with your strong fasts. Those who want to fight, you destroy those enemies. (6)
तँ हिन्वन्ति मदच्युतँ हरिं नदीषु वाजिनम् । इन्दुमिन्द्राय मत्सरम् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस मद बरसाने वाला, स्फूर्तिदायक व हरी कांति वाला है. इंद्र हेतु सोम को नदी के जल से प्रेरित किया जाता है. (७)
EN English Translation
Someras is a rainy, energizing and green radiant. For Indra, Soma is inspired by the water of the river. (7)
आ मन्द्रैरिन्द्र हरिभिर्याहि मयूररोमभिः । मा त्वा के चिन्नि येमुरिन्न पाशिनोऽति धन्वेव ताँ इहि ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप के घोड़े मनोहर हैं. उन के बाल मोरपंख जैसे हैं. आप उन घोड़ों सहित यज्ञ में पधारने की कृपा कीजिए. शिकारी आप की राह में जाल न फैला सकें, अतः आप उन्हें रेगिस्तान में पहुंचा दीजिए. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Your horses are alluring. Their hair is like peacock feathers. Please come to the yagna with those horses. The hunters cannot spread the net in your path, so you take them to the desert. (8)
वृत्रखादो वलँ रुजः पुरां दर्मो अपामजः । स्थाता रथस्य हर्योरभिस्वर इन्द्रो दृढा चिदारुजः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप घोड़ों से सजे हुए रथ में बैठ कर बलवान शत्रुओं को भी हरा देते हैं. आप उन की नगरियों का भी नाश कर देते हैं. आप राक्षसों के बलनाशक हैं. आप दुष्टों की दुष्ट प्रवृत्तियों का भी नाश करते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You also defeat strong enemies by sitting in a chariot decorated with horses. You also destroy their cities. You are the destroyer of demons. You also destroy the evil tendencies of the wicked. (9)
गम्भीराँ उदधीँरिव क्रतुं पुष्यसि गा इव । प्र सुगोपा यवसं धेनवो यथा ह्रदं कुल्या इवाशत ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! गंभीर समुद्र को जैसे छोटे तालाब अधिक जल दे कर पोसते हैं, वैसे ही आप यजमान की मनोकामना पूरी कर के उन्हें पोसते हैं. ग्वाले जैसे गायों को घास चारा डाल कर पोसते हैं, वैसे ही यजमान इंद्र को सोमरस भेंट कर के पोसते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as small ponds feed the serious sea by giving more water, you fulfill the wishes of the host and nurture them. Just as cowherds feed cows by putting grass fodder, the hosts offer someras to Indra and nurture them. (10)
यथा गौरो अपा कृतं तृष्यन्नेत्यवेरिणम् । आपित्वे नः प्रपित्वे तूयमा गहि कण्वेषु सु सचा पिब ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप हमारे दोस्त की तरह आइए. आप उसी ललक से आइए, जैसे प्यास से व्याकुल हिरण तालाब के पास जाता है. आप कण्वों के निकट सोमपान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You come like our friend. You come with the same urge, just as a deer disturbed by thirst goes to the pond. Please do sompan near the kanvas. (11)
मन्दन्तु त्वा मघवन्निन्द्रेन्दवो राधोदेयाय सुन्वते । आमुष्या सोममपिबश्चमू सुतं ज्येष्ठं तद्दधिषे सहः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप धनवान हैं. सोमरस आप को मदमस्त बना दे. आप इस सोमरस को पीजिए. आप हमें और हमारे बेटों को खूब धन दीजिए. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are rich. May Someras make you mad. You drink this somers. You give us and our sons a lot of money. (12)
त्वमङ्ग प्र शुँसिषो देवः शविष्ठ मर्त्यम् । न त्वदन्यो मघवन्नस्ति मर्डितेन्द्र ब्रवीमि ते वचः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप हमारी प्रशंसा करते हैं. आप सब से बढ़िया सुख देते हैं. हम आप ही से प्रार्थना करते हैं, क्योंकि आप के अतिरिक्त कोई दूसरा उतना धनवान और सुखदायक नहीं है. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You praise us. You give the best happiness. We pray to you, because no one is so rich and soothing except you. (13)
मा ते राधाँसि मा त ऊतयो वसोऽस्मान्कदा चना दभन् । विश्वा च न उपमिमीहि मानुष वसूनि चर्षणिभ्य आ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप के धन कभी भी हमारे लिए हानिकारक न हों. आप के रक्षा साधन भी कभी हमें हानि न पहुंचाएं. आप संसार के शरणदाता हैं. आप मनुष्यों को सभी धन देने की कृपा कीजिए. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Your money should never be harmful to us. Your defense means should never harm us. You are the refuge of the world. Please give all the money to human beings. (14)
