आशुः शिशानो वृषभो न भीमो घनाघनः क्षोभणश्चर्षणीनाम् । सङ्क्रन्दनोऽनिमिष एकवीरः शतँ सेना अजयत्साकमिन्द्रः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप बैल की तरह भीमकाय, दुष्टनाशक, वैरियों के लिए क्षोभदायी, स्फूर्तिवान व आलस्यरहित हैं. अकेले आप ही ऐसे वीर हैं, जो सारी शत्रु की सेना को पराजित कर देते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are as arrogant as a bull, evil-destroyer, annoying to the varis, energetic and lazy. You alone are the heroes who defeat the entire enemy's army. (1)
सङ्क्रन्दनेनानिमिषेण जिष्णुना युत्कारेण दुश्च्यवनेन धृष्णुना । तदिन्द्रेण जयत तत्सहध्वं युधो नर इषुहस्तेन वृष्णा ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप शत्रुओं को क्रंदन करा (रुला) देने वाले हैं. आप आलस्यरहित हैं. आप विजेता व निपुण हैं. योद्धा इंद्र की सहायता से युद्ध जीत कर शत्रुओं को भगाते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are going to cry (cry) to the enemies. You are lazy. You are a winner and an accomplished one. Warriors win the war with the help of Indra and drive away the enemies. (2)
स इषुहस्तैः स निषङ्गिभिर्वशी सँस्रष्टा स युध इन्द्रो गणेन । सँ सृष्टजित्सोमपा बाहुशर्ध्यू३ग्रधन्वा प्रतिहिताभिरस्ता ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र युद्ध (विद्या) में दक्ष हैं. वे सृष्टि के विजेता, सोमरस पीने वाले, बाहुबली, धनुर्धारी व शत्रुओं के नाशक हैं. वे तलवार और बाण धारण करने वाले योद्धाओं के सहयोग से शत्रुओं को वशीभूत कर लेते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Indra is skilled in war (vidya). He is the conqueror of creation, the drinker of Someras, Bahubali, archer and destroyer of enemies. They subjugate enemies with the help of warriors wearing swords and arrows. (3)
बृहस्पते परि दीया रथेन रक्षोहामित्राँ अपबाधमानः । प्रभञ्जन्सेनाः प्रमृणो युधा जयन्नस्माकमेध्यविता रथानाम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप सब के पालनहार, राक्षसों के नाशक, शत्रुओं के बाधक, सेना के विध्वंसक व हमारे रथों के रक्षक हैं. युद्ध में हम विजयी हों. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are the sustainer of all, the destroyer of demons, the obstacle of enemies, the destroyer of the army and the protector of our chariots. Let us be victorious in the war. (4)
बलविज्ञायः स्थविरः प्रवीरः सहस्वान्वाजी सहमान उग्रः । अभिवीरो अभिसत्वा सहोजा जैत्रमिन्द्र रथमा तिष्ठ गोवित् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप सब के बल को जानते हैं. आप अत्यंत वीर, स्थविर और उग्रता सहन करने वाले हैं. आप बल सहित ही पैदा हुए हैं. आप महावीर व गोपालक हैं. आप विजयी रथ में बैठने की कृपा कीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You know the power of all. You are extremely brave, stubborn and fierce. You are born with force. You are Mahavir and Gopalak. Please sit in the victorious chariot. (5)
गोत्रभिदं गोविदं वज्रबाहुं जयन्तमज्म प्रमृणन्तमोजसा । इमँ सजाता अनु वीरयध्वमिन्द्रँ सखायो अनु सँ रभध्वम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप दुश्मनों के गढ़ भेद देते हैं. आप वज्रबाहु, शत्रुनाशक, विजेता, गोपालक, नेता और पराक्रमशील हैं. शत्रु पर क्रोध करने में आप इंद्र का अनुगमन कीजिए. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You penetrate the strongholds of enemies. You are vajrabahu, enemy destroyer, conqueror, gopalak, leader and mighty. Follow Indra in angering the enemy. (6)
अभि गोत्राणि सहसा गाहमानोऽदयो वीरः शतमन्युरिन्द्रः । दुश्च्यवनः पृतनाषाडयुध्यो३ऽस्माकँ सेना अवतु प्र युत्सु ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप हमारी व सेनाओं की रक्षा कीजिए. आप अदभुत युद्धवीर, शत्रुजित्, स्थिर, वीर, अनीति के प्रति क्रोधी व शत्रु पर दया न करने वाले हैं. आप शत्रु के गढ़ भेदने वाले हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You protect us and our forces. You are a wonderful warrior, enemy, stable, brave, angry towards immorality and not pitying the enemy. You are going to penetrate the enemy's stronghold. (7)
इन्द्र आसां नेता बृहस्पतिर्दक्षिणा यज्ञः पुर एतु सोमः । देवसेनानामभिभञ्जतीनां जयन्तीनां मरुतो यन्त्वग्रम् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप हमारे नेता होइए. बृहस्पति सब से आगे होने की कृपा करें. सोम दक्षिण यज्ञ के संचालक हैं. वे भी अग्रगामी हों. मरुद्गण शत्रुनाशक हैं. वे देवताओं की सेना में सब से आगो होने की कृपा करें. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are our leader. Please be ahead of Jupiter. Som is the operator of the South Yagya. They should also be forward-looking. Deserts are enemies. May they be pleased to be the ones of the gods. (8)
इन्द्रस्य वृष्णो वरुणस्य राज्ञ आदित्यानां मरुताँ शर्ध उग्रम् । महामनसां भुवनच्यवानां घोषो देवानां जयतामुदस्थात् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप शक्तिमान हैं. वरुण राजा हैं. मरुद्गण तीव्र बल वाले हैं. आप शत्रु के डेरों के नाशक, महान मन वाले व विजयशील हैं. देवताओं का जयघोष सर्वत्र व्याप्त हो, सर्वत्र गूंजे. सभी देवताओं का हमें सहयोग प्राप्त हो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are powerful. Varun is the king. Deserts are strong. You are the destroyer of enemy's deras, with great mind and victory. May the chants of the gods prevail everywhere, echo everywhere. May we get the support of all the gods. (9)
उद्धर्षय मघवन्नायुधान्युत्सत्वनां मामकानां मनाँसि । उद्वृत्रहन्वाजिनां वाजिनान्युद्रथानां जयतां यन्तु घोषाः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप क्षमतावान हैं. आप अस्त्रशस्त्रधारी युद्धवीरों के मन में उत्साह भरें. आप हमारे मन में भी जोश भरें. आप हमारे युद्धरथ के घोड़ों को वेगवान बनाइए. विजयी हो कर आते हुए हमारे रथों के जयघोष गूंजें. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are capable. You fill the minds of armed warriors with enthusiasm. You also fill our minds with enthusiasm. You make our warhorse horses faster. As we emerge victorious, the chants of our chariots echo. (10)
अस्माकमिन्द्रः समृतेषु ध्वजेष्वस्माकं या इषवस्ता जयन्तु । अस्माकं वीरा उत्तरे भवन्त्वस्माँ उ देवा अवता हवेषु ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप युद्धों में हमारी सेना के रक्षक होइए. हमारे बाण शत्रुविजय करें. हमारे वीर युद्धों में विजय प्राप्त करें. यज्ञ में देवता हमारी रक्षा करें. हमारे ध्वजों पर विजय अंकित हो. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You be the protector of our army in wars. Let our arrows win enemies. Conquer our heroic wars. May the gods protect us in the yajna. Victory should be inscribed on our flags. (11)
असौ या सेना मरुतः परेषामभ्येति न ओजसा स्पर्धमाना । तां गूहत तमसापव्रतेन यथैतेषामन्यो अन्यं न जानात् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुदगणो! बल से स्पर्धा करती हुई शत्रुसेना हम पर आक्रमण करे तो आप उस सेना को घने अंधकार से घेर लीजिए, जिस से वे एकदूसरे को पहचान तक न सकें और अपनी ही सेना का संहार कर दें. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Marudagano! If the enemy force, competing with force, attacks us, then you surround that army with dense darkness, so that they can not even recognize each other and kill their own army. (12)
अमीषां चित्तं प्रतिलोभयन्ती गृहाणाङ्गान्यप्वे परेहि । अभि प्रेहि निर्दह हृत्सु शोकैरन्धेनामित्रास्तमसा सचन्ताम् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पाप के देवता! आप शत्रुओं के चित्त प्रति लोभी बनाइए. आप शत्रुओं के अंगों को भी कस लीजिए. आप शोकों की ज्वालाओं से शत्रुओं का हृदय दहलाइए. आप घनघोर अंधेरा कर के शत्रु को अचेत (बेहोश) बना दीजिए. (१३)
EN English Translation
O God of sin! Make you greedy towards the minds of enemies. You also tighten the limbs of enemies. You shake the hearts of enemies with the flames of sorrow. You make the enemy unconscious by making it dark. (13)
प्रेता जयता नर इन्द्रो वः शर्म यच्छतु । उग्रा वः सन्तु बाहवोऽनाधृष्या यथासथ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वीर मनुष्यो! इंद्र आप को सुखशांतिमय बनाने की कृपा करें. आप के बाहु उग्र हों. आप को श्रु अधीन न बना सके. आप उन पर आक्रमण कर के विजय प्राप्त कीजिए. (१४)
EN English Translation
O brave men! Indra, please make you happy. Your arms are furious. You can't be made subject to shrew. You attack them and win. (14)
अवसृष्टा परा पत शरव्ये ब्रह्मसँशिते । गच्छामित्रान्प्र पद्यस्व मामीषां कं च नोच्छिषः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे बाण वेदमंत्रों और स्तुतियों से प्रेरित किए गए हैं. वे बाण जब हम छोड़ें तो शत्रु कितना ही दूर वयों न हो, उस पर जा कर गिरें. उन शत्रुओं में से कोई भी बच न पाए. (१५)
EN English Translation
Our arrows have been inspired by Vedamantras and eulogies. When we leave those arrows, no matter how far the enemy is, they should fall on it. None of those enemies survived. (15)
कङ्काः सुपर्णा अनु यन्त्वेनान्गृध्राणामन्नमसावस्तु सेना । मैषां मोच्यघहारश्च नेन्द्र वयाँस्येनाननुसंयन्तु सर्वान् ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! बाण मांसाहारी बाज की तरह शत्रुओं का अनुगमन (पीछा) करें. शत्रुओं की सेना गिदधों का भोजन हो जाए. उन का कोई अवशेष न रह पाए. पाप में लगे पापी भी बच न पाएं. मांसाहारी पक्षी उन का भी अनुगमन (पीछा) करें. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Arrows follow enemies like carnivorous eagles. The army of enemies should become the food of the giddhas. No remains of them remain. Sinners engaged in sin should also not be saved. Carnivorous birds should follow them too. (16)
अमित्रसेनां मघवन्नस्माञ्छत्रुयतीमभि । उभौ तामिन्द्र वृत्रहन्नग्निश्च दहतं प्रति ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप अमित्रों की सेना का नाश कीजिए. आप वृत्रहंता व धनवान हैं. आप और अग्नि मिल कर शत्रुओं की सेना को भस्म करने की कृपा करें. (१७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You destroy the army of the unfriendly. You are rich and rich. Please you and Agni together to consume the army of enemies. (17)
यत्र बाणाः सम्पतन्ति कुमारा विशिखा इव । तत्रा नो ब्रह्मणस्पतिरदितिः शर्म यच्छतु विश्वाहा शर्म यच्छतु ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जहां बाण इस तरह गिरते हैं, जैसे बिना चोटी वाले चंचल बालक गिर रहे हों, वहां अदिति और ब्रह्मणस्पति हमें सुख देने की कृपा करें. वे सदैव हमारा कल्याण करने की कृपा करें. (१८)
EN English Translation
Where arrows fall in such a way, as if playful children without braids are falling, Aditi and Brahmanaspati should be pleased to give us happiness. May they always be kind to benefit us. (18)
वि रक्षो वि मृधो जहि वि वृत्रस्य हनू रुज । वि मन्युमिन्द्र वृत्रहन्नमित्रस्याभिदासतः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप राक्षसों व हिंसकों का विनाश करने की कृपा कीजिए. आप वृत्रासुर जैसे राक्षसों की ठोड़ी तोड़ दीजिए. आप अमित्रों का क्रोध और घमंड दूर करने की कृपा कीजिए. (१९)

O Indra! Please destroy demons and violent ones. You break the chin of demons like Vritrasura. Please remove the anger and arrogance of the unfriendly. (19)
वि न इन्द्र मृधो जहि नीचा यच्छ पृतन्यतः । यो अस्माँ अभिदासत्यधरं गमया तमः ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हमारी सेना युद्धों में शज्रुओं को पराजित कर दे. हमारे शत्रु मुंह नीचा कर के हमारे सामने आएं. आप उन शत्रुओं को पतन के गर्त में डाल दीजिए, जो हमें अपने अधीन (वश में) करना चाहते हैं. (२०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! May our army defeat the Shajurus in wars. Our enemies should come before us with their mouths down. You put those enemies in the pit of decline, who want to subdue us. (20)
इन्द्रस्य बाहू स्थविरौ युवानावनाधृष्यौ सुप्रतीकावसह्यौ । तौ युञ्जीत प्रथमौ योग आगते याभ्यां जितमसुराणाँ सहो महत् ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र के बाहु हाथी की सूंड़ की तरह हैं. आप सर्वप्रथम उन भुजाओं को युद्ध में प्रेरित करने की कृपा कीजिए. आप बलजित्, स्थिर व जवान हैं. आप पर किसी का वश नहीं चल सकता. (२१)
EN English Translation
Indra's arms are like elephant trunks. Please first inspire those arms into battle. You are strong, stable and young. No one can control you. (21)
मर्माणि ते वर्मणा च्छादयामि सोमस्त्वा राजामृतेनानु वस्ताम् । उरोर्वरीयो वरुणस्ते कृणोतु जयन्तं त्वानु देवा मदन्तु ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम आप के मर्म स्थानों को कवच से ढकते हैं. राजा सोम आप को अमृतमय बनाने की कृपा करें. वरुण आप को सुख प्रदान करने की कृपा करें. देवता आप को प्रसन्नता प्रदान करें. (२२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We cover your heartlands with armor. Please King Som to make you nectar. Varuna, please give you happiness. May the gods give you happiness. (22)
अन्धा अमित्रा भवताशीर्षाणोऽहय इव । तेषां वो अग्निनुन्नानामिन्द्रो हन्तु वरंवरम् ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! सिर रहित सांप जैसे अंधा होता है, वैसे ही हमारे अमित्र हो जाएं. उन में से जो अग्नि की ज्वाला से बच जाएं, उन बचे हुए शत्रुओं को आप स्वयं नष्ट करने की कृपा कीजिए. (२३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as a headless snake is blind, so become our unfriendly. Those of those who escape the flame of agni, please destroy those remaining enemies yourself. (23)
यो नः स्वोऽरणो यश्च निष्ट्यो जिघाँसति । देवास्तँ सर्वे धूर्वन्तु ब्रह्म वर्म ममान्तरँ शर्म वर्म ममान्तरम् ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो हमारे अपने हो कर विश्वासपूर्वक छल से हमें मारना चाहते हैं, देवगण उन सभी धूर्तो को नष्ट करने की कृपा करें. वेदों के मंत्र हमारे मर्मस्थान के कवच हैं. वे हमें सुख प्रदान करने की कृपा करें. (२४)
EN English Translation
Those who want to kill us with deceit with faith, may the Gods be pleased to destroy all those cunning. The mantras of the Vedas are the armor of our place. May they please give us happiness. (24)
मृगो न भीमः कुचरो गिरिष्ठाः परावत आ जगन्था परस्याः । सृकँ सँशाय पविमिन्द्र तिग्मं वि शत्रूं ताढि वि मृधो नुदस्व ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप पर्वत में रहने वाले शेर के समान भयंकर हैं. दूर से यहां आ कर दूर तक मारक तीखे वञ् से शत्रुओं का नाश करने की कृपा कीजिए. आप लड़ाकू शत्रुओं को दूर करने की कृपा कीजिए. (२५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are as fierce as a lion living in the mountain. Please come here from a distance and destroy the enemies with a sharp weapon from far away. Please remove the fighting enemies. (25)
भद्रं कर्णेभिः शृणुयाम देवा भद्रं पश्येमाक्षभिर्यजत्राः । स्थिरैरङ्गैस्तुष्टुवाँ सस्तनूभिर्व्यशेमहि देवहितं यदायुः ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवगणो! आप की कृपा से कानों से कल्याणकारी वचन सुनें, आंखों से मंगलमय दृश्य देखने को मिलें. हम स्वस्थ हाथपैर और अंगों से आप की स्तुति कर सकें. आप देवताओं की कृपा से हमें जो भी आयु प्राप्त हुई है, उस का हम स्तुतिपूर्वक सदुपयोग कर सकें. (२६)
EN English Translation
O God! By your grace, listen to welfare words from the ears, get to see auspicious scenes from the eyes. May we praise you with healthy hands and limbs. By the grace of you gods, whatever life we have attained, we can make good use of it with praise. (26)
स्वस्ति न इन्द्रो वृद्धश्रवाः स्वस्ति नः पूषा विश्ववेदाः । स्वस्ति नस्तार्क्ष्यो अरिष्टनेमिः स्वस्ति नो बृहस्पतिर्दधातु ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र हमारा कल्याण करने की कृपा करें. सर्वज्ञाता पूषा हमारा कल्याण करने की कृपा करें. अहिंसक अस्त्रशस्त्र वाले गरुड़ व ज्ञान धारण करने वाले बृहस्पति हमारा कल्याण करने की कृपा करें. (२७)
EN English Translation
May Indra bless us. May the omniscient Pusha bless us. May Garuda, who has non-violent weapons, and Jupiter, who possess knowledge, be kind to do us welfare. (27)
