यज्ञायज्ञा वो अग्नये गिरागिरा च दक्षसे । प्रप्र वयममृतं जातवेदसं प्रियं मित्रं न शँसिषम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! आप उपासना करने वाले है. आप को हर यज्ञ में प्रज्वलित हो कर बढ़ने वाले अग्नि की वाणी से स्तुति करनी चाहिए. अग्नि अमर, ज्ञानी व हमारे मित्र हैं. हम उन की उपासना करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O hosts! You are going to worship. You should praise the agni that is ignited in every yajna. Agni is immortal, knowledgeable and our friend. We worship them. (1)
ऊर्जो नपातँ स हिनायमस्मयुर्दाशेम हव्यदातये । भुवद्वाजेष्वविता भुवद्वृध उत त्राता तनूनाम् ॥ (२)

अग्नि लगातार अन्न और शक्तिदाता हैं. वे हमारा कल्याण चाहते हैं. हम देवताओं तक हवि पहुंचाने के लिए अग्नि देवता को हवि प्रदान करते हैं. वे युद्धों में हमारे रक्षक और हमारे लिए प्रगतिकारी हैं. वे हमारे पुत्रों के भी रक्षक होने की कृपा करें. हम उन की उपासना करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Agni is constantly the giver of food and strength. They want our welfare. We offer havi to the agni god to convey havi to the gods. They are our protectors in wars and progressors for us. May they be the protectors of our sons too. We worship them. (2)
एह्यू षु ब्रवाणि तेऽग्न इत्थेतरा गिरः । एभिर्वर्धास इन्दुभिः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप आइए. हम आप के लिए विधिविधान से स्तोत्र उचारते हैं. आप हमारी और दूसरों की स्तुतियों को सुनिए. सोमरस आप को बढ़ोतरी प्रदान करें. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You come. We collect hymns from the statute for you. Listen to our praise and others. Somers provide you with hikes. (3)
यत्र क्व च ते मनो दक्षं दधस उत्तरम् । तत्रा योनिं कृणवसे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप का मन जहां कहीं भी, जिस पर भी है, आप उसे श्रेष्ठ बल और श्रेष्ठ आवास प्रदान करने की कृपा करें. (४)
EN English Translation
O agni! Wherever your mind is, wherever you are, please provide it with the best strength and best accommodation. (4)
न हि ते पूर्तमक्षिपद्भुवन्नेमानां पते । अथा दुवो वनवसे ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप नियम आदि की रक्षा करने वाले, उन का पालन करने वाले यजमान की रक्षा करते हो. उन का पालन करते हो. आप हमारी सेवा को स्वीकार कीजिए. आप का तेज हमारी आंखों को किसी भी प्रकार की हानि न पहुंचाए. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You protect the host who protects the rules, who follows them. Follow them. You accept our service. Your sharpness should not harm our eyes in any way. (5)
वयमु त्वामपूर्व्य स्थूरं न कच्चिद्भरन्तोऽवस्यवः । वज्रिञ्चित्रँ हवामहे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप अपूर्व, वज्र धारण करने वाले, विलक्षण व सर्वोत्तम हैं. हम आप को सोमरस चढ़ाना चाहते हैं. हम आप से रक्षा का अनुरोध करते हैं. हम आप को उसी तरह पुकारते हैं, जैसे निर्बल व्यक्ति अपनी सहायता के लिए सबल को पुकारता है. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are unique, vajra-wearing, extraordinary and the best. We want to offer somers to you. We request you to protect. We call upon you just as a weak man calls out to Sabal for his help. (6)
उप त्वा कर्मन्नूतये स नो युवोग्रश्चक्राम यो धृषत् । त्वामिध्यवितारं ववृमहे सखाय इन्द्र सानसिम् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम यज्ञ में अपनी रक्षा के लिए आप की शरण लेते हैं. आप शन्रुनाशक व युवा हैं. आप हमारे पास आइए. हमारी मित्रता स्वीकारिए. आप के बारे में प्रसिद्ध है कि आप सेवा करने योग्य हैं. सब की रक्षा करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We take refuge in you to protect ourselves in the yagna. You are a destroyer and young man. You come to us. Accept our friendship. You are famous about that you are worthy of service. Protect everyone. (7)
अधा हीन्द्र गिर्वण उप त्वा काम ईमहे ससृग्महे । उदेव ग्मन्त उदभिः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप उपासना करने योग्य हैं. हम आप से उसी प्रकार अपनी इच्छा पूर्ति की प्रार्थना करते हैं, जैसे पानी ले जाने वाले मनुष्य उस से अपनी इच्छानुसार खेलते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are worthy of worship. We pray to you to fulfill our wish, just as people carrying water play with it according to their will. (8)
वार्ण त्वा यव्याभिर्वर्धन्ति शूर ब्रह्माणि । ववृध्वाँसं चिदद्रिवो दिवेदिवे ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप वज्रधारी व वीर हैं. नदियां जैसे समुद्र तक पहुंच कर उसे बढ़ाती हैं, उसी प्रकार हमारी स्तुतियां आप तक पहुंच कर आप के यश को और बढ़ाती हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are vajradhari and veer. Just as rivers reach the sea and increase it, so our praise reaches you and increases your fame. (9)
युञ्जन्ति हरी इषिरस्य गाथयोरौ रथ उरुयुगे वचोयुजा । इन्द्रवाहा स्वर्विदा ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र गतिशील हैं. उन के घोड़े उन के बड़े जुए वाले बड़े रथ में कहने मात्र से ही जुत जाते हैं. ये घोड़े गंतव्य स्थान को भी स्वयं ही जानने वाले हैं. ये यजमान की स्तुति सुनते ही निर्धारित जगह के लिए चल पड़ते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
Indra is dynamic. Their horses are ploughed only by saying in their big chariot with big gambling. These horses are also going to know the destination themselves. They leave for the designated place as soon as they hear the praise of the host. (10)
