अग्निं दूतं वृणीमहे होतारं विश्ववेदसम् । अस्य यज्ञस्य सुक्रतुम् ॥ (१)

अग्नि सभी धन पास रखने वाले, देवताओं को यज्ञ में बुलाने वाले, यज्ञ को ठीक तरह कराने वाले व देवों को हवि पहुंचाने वाले हैं. हम आप की उपासना करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Agni is the one who keeps all the wealth, calls the gods to the yajna, who performs the yajna properly and delivers the blessings to the gods. We worship you. (1)
वृषा पवस्व धारया मरुत्वते च मत्सरः । दिश्वा दधान ओजसा ॥ (१)

हे सोम! आप शक्तिवर्धक हैं. आप धारा रूप में छनिए. आप द्रोणकलश में पधारिए. आप अपने बल से विश्व को धारण करने वाले मरुतों के मित्र इंद्र को आनंद प्रदान कीजिए. (१)

O Mon! You are powerful. You filter in stream form. You come to Dronakalsh. Give pleasure to Indra, the friend of the Maruts who hold the world with your strength. (1)
त्वामिद्धि हवामहे सातौ वाजस्य कारवः । त्वां वृत्रेष्विन्द्र सत्पतिं नरस्त्वां काष्ठास्वर्वतः ॥ (१)

O Mon! Your juices are virenya, inspiring and divine. You get refined. (1)
एवा ह्यसि वीरयुरेवा शूर उत स्थिरह् । एवा ते राध्यं मनः ॥ (१)

हे इंद्र! आप शूरवीर हैं. आप संग्रामों में शूरवीरों को अपनी वीरता दिखाने का अवसर प्रदान करते हैं. आप उन युद्धों में स्थिर रहते हैं. इसीलिए आप का मन आराधना के योग्य है. (१)

O Indra! You are a knight. You provide an opportunity to the knights to show their valour in battles. You remain steadfast in those wars. That is why your mind is worthy of worship. (1)
पवस्व वाचो अग्रियः सोम चित्राभिरूतिभिः । अभि विश्वानि काव्या ॥ (१)

हे सोम! आप प्रमुख हैं, आगे की पंक्ति में रहने वाले हैं. आप हमारी स्तुतियों पर ध्यान दीजिए. हमारी सभी स्तुतियों और प्रार्थनाओं को सुनिए. आप पूजनीय व संरक्षणशील हैं. (१)

O Mon! You're the chief, going to be in the front row. You pay attention to our praises. Listen to all our praises and prayers. You are revered and protected. (1)
अग्निमग्निँ हवीमभिः सदा हवन्त विश्पतिम् । हव्यवाहं पुरुप्रियम् ॥ (२)

हे अग्नि! आप प्रजापालक, हविवाहक, सर्वप्रिय, बुलाने योग्य व अनेक नाम वाले हैं. आप हम सब के नेता हैं. हम मंत्रों से आप का आह्वान करते हैं. (२)

O agni! You are a prajapalak, a marriager, an all-loving, callable and of many names. You are the leader of all of us. We invoke you with mantras. (2)
तं त्वा धर्त्तारमोण्यो३ः पवमान स्वर्दृशम् । हिन्वे वाजेषु वाजिनम् ॥ (२)

हे सोम! आप पवित्र, स्वर्गलोक, पृथ्वीलोक को धारण करने वाले व सर्वद्रष्टा हैं. आप को हम युद्धों में जाने के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं. हमें आप अन्न आदि दीजिए. (२)

O Mon! You are pure, the one who holds heaven, the earth and the almighty. We inspire you to go to wars. Give us food etc. (2)
स त्वं नश्चित्र वज्रहस्त धृष्णुया मह स्तवानो अद्रिवः । गामश्वँ रथ्यमिन्द्र सं किर सत्रा वाजं न जिग्युषे ॥ (२)

हे इंद्र! आप हाथ में वज्र धारण करते हैं. आप बलधारी व शक्तिधारी हैं. आप यजमानों की प्रार्थना से प्रसन्न होइए. उन्हें अन्नधन प्रदान करने की कृपा कीजिए. (२)

O Indra! You hold a thunderbolt in your hand. You are strong and powerful. Please be pleased with the prayers of the hosts. Please provide them food. (2)
जघ्निर्वृत्रममित्रियँ सस्निर्वाजं दिवेदिवे । गोषातिरश्वसा असि ॥ (२)

हे सोम! आप वृत्रासुर अमित्रों (शत्रुओं) के नाशक, दिव्य व संघर्षशील हैं. आप गोधन व अश्वधन प्रदान करते हैं. (२)

O Mon! You are the destroyer, divine and struggling of Vritrasura unfriendly (enemies). You provide godhan and ashwadhan. (2)
एवा रातिस्तुवीमघ विश्वेभिर्धायि धातृभिः । अधा चिदिन्द्र नः सचा ॥ (२)

हे इंद्र! आप सभी ऐश्वर्य धारण करते हैं. आप की कृपा कभी भी समाप्त नहीं होती है. आप हम पर कृपा कीजिए. (२)

O Indra! You all wear opulence. Your grace never ends. You please impress us. (2)
त्वँ समुद्रिया अपोऽग्रियो वाच ईरयन् । पवस्व विश्वचर्षणे ॥ (२)

हे सोम! आप सभी के कर्मो को ध्यान से देखने वाले हैं. आप अग्रगण्य स्तुतियों के प्रेरक हैं. अंतरिक्ष के जल आप को प्राप्त होते हैं. (२)

O Mon! You are going to watch everyone's deeds carefully. You are the motivator of leading praises. The waters of space are received by you. (2)
अग्ने देवाँ इहा वह जज्ञानो वृक्तबर्हिषे । असि होता न ईड्यः ॥ (३)

हे अग्नि! आप अरणियों से उत्पन्न होने वाले व देवताओं के दूत हैं. आप आसन फैलाने वाले यजमान के लिए देवताओं को बुला लाइए. आप मददगार और उपासना के योग्य हैं. (३)

O agni! You are born of forests and messengers of gods. You call the gods for the host who spreads the seat. You are helpful and worthy of worship. (3)
अया चित्तो विपानया हरिः पवस्व धारया । युजं वाजेषु चोदय ॥ (३)

हे सोम! आप हरे हैं. आप को अंगुलियों से निचोड़ा गया है. आप द्रोणकलश में धारा रूप में झरते जाइए. आप अपने मित्र इंद्र को युद्धों में जाने के लिए प्रेरित कीजिए. (३)

O Mon! You're green. You've been squeezed with fingers. You go downstream in Dronakalsh. You motivate your friend Indra to go to wars. (3)
अभि प्र वः सुराधसमिन्द्रमर्च यथा विदे । यो जरितृभ्यो मघवा पुरूवसुः सहस्रेणेव शिक्षति ॥ (३)

हे यजमानो! इंद्र नाना प्रकार के वैभव देने वाले हैं. आप हजारों विधियों से उन्हें प्रसन्न करने की कोशिश करो. (३)

O hosts! Indra is the giver of various types of splendor. You try to please them with thousands of methods. (3)
सम्मिश्लो अरुषो भुवः सूपस्थाभिर्न धेनुभि । सीदं च्छ्येनो न योनिमा ॥ (३)

हे सोम! बाज जैसे घोंसले में सुशोभित होता है, उसी प्रकार आप अपने सदन में सुशोभित होते हैं. आप गायों के दूध में मिलने पर चमचमाते हैं. (३)

O Mon! Just as the eagle is adorned in a nest, so you are adorned in your house. You gleam when you get into the milk of cows. (3)
मो षु ब्रह्मेव तदिन्द्रयुर्भुवो वाजानां पते । मत्स्वा सुतस्य गोमतः ॥ (३)

हे इंद्र! आप बलवान, शक्ति के स्वामी एवं ब्रह्मा के समान हैं. आप हमें बुद्धिमान बनाने की कृपा कीजिए. (३)

O Indra! You are strong, the master of power and like Brahma. Please make us wise. (3)
तुभ्येमा भुवना कवे महिम्ने सोम तस्थिरे । तुभ्यं धावन्ति धेनवः ॥ (३)

हे सोम! आप के ही लिए ये लोक स्थिर हैं. आप की महानता के कारण ये लोक स्थिर हैं. गाएं आप को दूध देने के लिए दौड़दौड़ कर आप के पास आ रही हैं. (३)

O Mon! For you, these people are stable. These worlds are stable because of your greatness. Cows are running to give you milk. (3)
पवस्वेन्दो वृषा सुतः कृधी नो यशसो जने । विश्वा अप द्विषो जहि ॥ (४)

छाना हुआ आप का रस स्फूर्तिदायी है. आप छनते हुए अपनी धाराओं से पवित्र होइए. हम लोगों को यशस्वी बनाइए. हमारे सभी शत्रुओं का नाश कीजिए. (४)

Your juice filtered is invigorating. You be filtered and sanctified by your streams. Make us people successful. Destroy all our enemies. (4)
मित्रं वयँ हवामहे वरुणँ सोमपीतये । य जाता पूतदक्षसा ॥ (४)

हम शुद्ध, बलवान और यज्ञस्थल में प्रकट होने वाले मित्र और वरुण देवता का सोमरस पीने के लिए यज्ञ में आह्वान करते हैं. (४)

We call upon the pure, strong and appearing friends and Varuna devta in the yajna place to drink someras in the yagna. (4)
वृषा शोणो अभिकनिक्रदद्गा नदयन्नेषि पृथिवीमुत द्याम् । इन्द्रस्येव वग्नुरा शृण्व आजौ प्रचोदयन्नर्षसि वाचमेमाम् ॥ (४)

हे सोम! हमारी प्रार्थनाओं को सुन कर आप उसी तरह आवाज करते हैं, जैसे गायों को देख कर लाल बैल आवाज करता है. आप स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक पर पधारते हैं. इंद्र के शब्दों के समान हम आप की आवाज सुनते हैं. आप अपना स्वरूप सब को बोध कराते हैं. यजमान की प्रार्थनाओं को सुनने की कृपा करते हैं. (४)

O Mon! By listening to our prayers, you make a sound in the same way as a red bull makes a sound when you see cows. You come to heaven and earth. Like Indra's words, we hear your voice. You make everyone aware of your nature. Please listen to the prayers of the host. (4)
शतानीकेव प्र जिगाति धृष्णुया हन्ति वृत्राणि दाशुषे । गिरेरिव प्र रसा अस्य पिन्विरे दत्राणि पुरुभोजसः ॥ (४)

दुश्मनों का संहार करते समय इंद्र यजमान की वैसे ही रक्षा करते हैं, जैसे सेनानी शत्रु पर चढ़ाई के समय सेना की. उन का यह संरक्षण यजमानों को झरने के जल की तरह शांति और तृप्ति प्रदान करता है. (४)

While killing enemies, Indra protects the host just as the fighter protects the army at the time of attacking the enemy. (4)
अयं पूषा रयिर्भगः सोमः पुनानो अर्षति । पतिर्विश्वस्य भूमनो व्यख्यद्रोदसी उभे ॥ (४)

हे सोम! आप विश्वपति व पवित्र हैं. आप पूषा और भग के लिए प्रवाहित होइए. आप पृथ्वीलोक और स्वर्गलोक दोनों को प्रकाशित करते हैं. (४)

O Mon! You are vishwapati and pavitra. You flow for the pusha and the citva. You illuminate both earth and paradise. (4)
इन्द्रं विश्वा अवीवृधन्त्समुद्रव्यचसं गिरः । रथीतमँ रथीनां वाजानाँ सत्पतिं पतिम् ॥ (४)

हे इंद्र! आप समुद्र जैसे भरेपूरे हैं और विश्व को धारण करते हैं. आप सत्पति, शक्तिपति और दैवी शक्तियों के स्वामी हैं. हम वाणी से आप की उपासना करते हैं. (४)

O Indra! You are as full as the sea and hold the world. You are the master of satpati, shaktipati and divine powers. We worship you with speech. (4)
यस्य ते सख्ये वयँ सासह्याम पृतन्यतः । तवेन्दो द्युम्न उत्तमे ॥ (५)

हे सोम! हम आप के मित्र हैं. हम ने आप से तेजस्विता पाई है. हम सभी शत्रुओं को नष्ट करने की क्षमता वाले हो गए हैं. (५)

O Mon! We are your friends. We have got brilliance from you. We have become capable of destroying all enemies. (5)
ऋतेन यावृतावृधावृतस्य ज्योतिषस्पती । ता मित्रावरुणा हुवे ॥ (५)

मित्र और वरुण देवता यजमान पर दयालु हैं. वे सत्यमार्गियों पर कृपालु हैं. उन प्रकाशमान मित्र और वरुण देवताओं का हम आह्वान करते हैं. (५)

Friends and Varuna devta are kind to the host. They are kind to the truthful. We invoke those bright friends and Varuna gods. (5)
रसाय्यः पयसा पिन्वमान ईरयन्नेषि मधुमन्तमँशुम् । पवमान सन्तनिमेषि कृण्वन्निन्द्राय सोम परिषिच्यमानः ॥ (५)

स्वादिष्ट और मीठा सोमरस गाय का दूध मिलाने से और स्वादिष्ट और मीठा हो जाता है. पानी मिला कर छानने पर धारा रूप धारण कर के सोम इंद्र को प्राप्त हो जाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Delicious and sweet someras becomes more delicious and sweet by adding cow's milk. After mixing water and filtering, som takes the form of a stream and gets Indra. (5)
त्वामिदा ह्यो नरोऽपीप्यन्वज्रिन्भूर्णयः । स इन्द्र स्तोमवाहस इह श्रुध्युप स्वसरमा गहि ॥ (५)

हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! यजमान आप को हवि प्रदान करते हैं. वे ही यजमान आप को सोमरस भेंट करते हैं. स्तोता (उपासक) आप के लिए साम गा रहे हैं. आप सुनिए और यज्ञ में पधारिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O Vajradhari Indra! Hosts give you havi. They are the ones who present somerasa to you. Stota (worshipper) are singing saam for you. You listen and come to the yagna. (5)
समु प्रिया अनूषत गावो मदाय घृष्वयः । सोमासः कृण्वते पथः पवमानास इन्दवः ॥ (५)

हे सोम! आप मददायी व प्रिय हैं. आप के लिए की गई स्तुतियां एकदूसरे से होड़ करती हैं. आप सभी का पथप्रदर्शन करते हैं. (५)

O Mon! You are kind and dear. Praises for you compete with each other. You guide everyone. (5)
सख्ये त इन्द्र वाजिनो मा भेम शवसस्पते । त्वामभि प्र नोनुमो जेतारमपराजितम् ॥ (५)

हे इंद्र! हम आप के सखा हैं. आप शक्तिमान हैं. आप की छत्रछाया में हम कभी किसी से भयभीत न हों. आप अपराजेय व विजेता हैं. हम आप को नमन करते हैं. (५)

O Indra! We are your friend. You are powerful. Under your umbrella, we should never be afraid of anyone. You are unbeatable and a winner. We salute you. (5)
