मयि॑ गृह्णा॒म्यग्रे॑ अ॒ग्निꣳ रा॒यस्पोषा॑य सुप्रजा॒स्त्वाय॑ सु॒वीर्या॑य । मामु॑ दे॒वताः॑ सचन्ताम् ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! आप धन के उत्पादक, श्रेष्ठ संतति वाले और श्रेष्ठ वीर्य बाले हैं. हम यह सब पाने के लिए आप को आहुतियों से सींचते हैं. आप हमें ग्रहण करने की (स्वीकारने की) कृपा कीजिए. (१)

O agni! You are the producer of wealth, the best offspring and the best semen. We water you with offerings to get all this. Please accept us. (1)
अ॒पां पृ॒ष्ठम॑सि॒ योनि॑र॒ग्नेः स॑मु॒द्रम॒भितः॒ पिन्व॑मानम् । वर्ध॑मानो म॒हाँ२ऽआ च॒ पुष्क॑रे दि॒वो मात्र॑या वरि॒म्णा प्र॑थस्व ॥ (२)

आप जलधारी, अग्नि का मूल स्थान और समुद्र के साथ वृद्द्धि पाते हैं. आप महान् हैं. आप पृथ्वी की तरह विस्तृत हों. आप स्वर्गलोक की दिव्यता प्राप्त कीजिए. (२)
EN English Translation
You find water, the original place of agni and growth with the sea. You are great. You are as wide as earth. You attain the divinity of heaven. (2)
ब्रह्म॑ जज्ञा॒नं प्र॑थ॒मं पु॒रस्ता॒द्वि सी॑म॒तः सु॒रुचो॑ वे॒नऽआ॑वः । स बु॒ध्न्याऽ उप॒माऽ अ॑स्य वि॒ष्ठाः स॒तश्च॒ योनि॒मस॑तश्च॒ वि वः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सर्वप्रथम ब्रह्मा उत्पन्न हुआ. उस के बाद शक्ति व्यापक हुई. उस शक्ति ने व्यक्त जगत् को प्रकाशित किया. उस शक्ति ने अव्यक्त जगत् को प्रकाशित किया. सत् इस की विष्ठा, मल और असत् इस का मूल स्थान हुआ. (३)
EN English Translation
Brahma was born first. After that the power broadened. That power illuminated the expressed world. That power illuminated the latent world. Sat is the original place of its feces, feces and ashes. (3)
हि॒र॒ण्य॒ग॒र्भः सम॑वर्त्त॒ताग्रे॑ भू॒तस्य॑ जा॒तः पति॒रेक॑ऽ आसीत् । स दा॑धार पृथि॒वीं द्यामु॒तेमां कस्मै॑ दे॒वाय॑ ह॒विषा॑ विधेम ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सर्वप्रथम हिरण्यगर्भ में परम तत्त्व रहा. उसी से सृष्टि उपजी. वे ही एकमात्र पालक थे. उन्होंने पृथ्वी को धारण किया. बही स्वर्गलोक को धारण करते हैं. उन के अलावा हम अन्य किस देव के लिए हवि का विधान करें. (४)
EN English Translation
First of all, hiranyagarbha had the supreme principle. From that creation stemmed. He was the only foster. He held the earth. They hold the land of heaven. Apart from them, we should make a law of havi for which other god. (4)
द्र॒प्सश्च॑स्कन्द पृथि॒वीमनु॒ द्यामि॒मं च॒ योनि॒मनु॒ यश्च॒ पूर्वः॑ । स॒मा॒नं योनि॒मनु॑ सं॒चर॑न्तं द्र॒प्सं जु॑हो॒म्यनु॑ स॒प्त होत्राः॑ ॥ (५)

प्रारंभ से ही द्रप्स रस (एक दिव्य रस) देवता को तृप्ति प्रदान करते हैं और पृथ्वी को बढ़ाते हैं. स्वर्गलोक की बढ़ोतरी करते हैं. मूल स्थान को सींचते हैं. द्रप्स समान मूल स्थान में संचरण करते हैं. सात होता द्रप्स को आहुति प्रदान करते हैं. (५)

From the very beginning, Drapes Rasa (a divine juice) provides satiety to the deity and enhances the earth. Let's increase heaven. Irrigate the original location. Drapes transmit in the same original location. The seven offer sacrifices to the snakes. (5)
नमो॑ऽस्तु स॒र्पेभ्यो॒ ये के च॑ पृथि॒वीमनु॑ । येऽ अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे॒ ये दि॒वि तेभ्यः॑ स॒र्पेभ्यो॒ नमः॑ ॥ (६)

जो सर्प पृथ्वी का अनुकरण करते हैं, उन्हें नमन. जो सर्प अंतरिक्ष और स्वर्ग का अनुकरण करते हैं, उन्हें भी नमन. (६)

Salutations to the serpents who follow the earth. Salutations to the serpents who emulate space and heaven. (6)
याऽइष॑वो यातु॒धाना॑नां॒ ये वा॒ वन॒स्पतीँ॒१ऽरनु॑ । ये वा॑व॒टेषु॒ शेर॑ते॒ तेभ्यः॑ स॒र्पेभ्यो॒ नमः॑ ॥ (७)

जो राक्षसों के बाण रूप सर्प हैं, जो वनस्पतियों का अनुकरण करने वाले सर्प हैं, उन्हें नमन. जो गड्ढों और निचले भागों में रहते हैं, उन सर्पो को भी नमन, (७)

Salutations to those who are snakes in the arrow form of demons, who are serpents who imitate vegetation. Salutations to serpents who live in pits and lower parts, (7)
ये वा॒मी रो॑च॒ने दि॒वो ये वा॒ सूर्य॑स्य र॒श्मिषु॑ । येषा॑म॒प्सु सद॑स्कृ॒तं तेभ्यः॑ स॒र्पेभ्यो॒ नमः॑ ॥ (८)

जो चमकते हुए स्वर्गलोक में बास करते हैं, जो सूर्य की किरणों में वास करते हैं, जिन का जल के भीतर घर है, उन सर्पो को नमन. (८)

Salutations to those who bass in the shining paradise, who dwell in the rays of the sun, those who have a house within the water. (8)
कृ॒णु॒ष्व पाजः॒ प्रसि॑तिं॒ न पृ॒थ्वीं या॒हि राजे॒वाम॑वाँ॒२ऽ इभो॑न । तृ॒ष्वीमनु॒ प्रसि॑तिं द्रूणा॒नोऽस्ता॑सि॒ विध्य॑ र॒क्षस॒स्तपि॑ष्ठैः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप दुष्टों को कष्ट दीजिए. आप राजा की तरह हाथी पर सवार हो कर शत्रुओं पर आक्रमण कीजिए. आप राक्षसों को तपाइए. विस्तृत जाल की तरह आप अपनी सामर्थ्य का जाल और अधिक पसारिए. (९)
EN English Translation
O agni! You trouble the wicked. You ride on an elephant like a king and attack the enemies. You heat the demons. Like a wide net, you spread your strength more. (9)
तव॑ भ्र॒मास॑ऽ आशु॒या प॑त॒न्त्यनु॑ स्पृश धृष॒ता शोशु॑चानः । तपू॑ष्यग्ने जु॒ह्वाड्ट पत॒ङ्गानस॑न्दितो॒ विसृ॑ज॒ विष्व॑गु॒ल्काः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप भ्रमणशील हैं. आप शीघ्र अपनी चमकती हुई लपटों से राक्षसों को भस्म कर दीजिए. हमारी आहुति से आप की लपटें (ऊंचीऊंची) बढ़ गई हैं. आप अपनी उन लपटों से राक्षसों का नाश कर दीजिए. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are traveling. You should soon consume the demons with your shining flames. With our sacrifice, your flames (high altitude) have increased. You destroy the demons with those flames. (10)
प्रति॒ स्पशो॒ विसृ॑ज॒ तूर्णि॑तमो॒ भवा॑ पा॒युर्वि॒शोऽ अ॒स्या अद॑ब्धः । यो नो॑ दू॒रेऽ अ॒घश॑ꣳसो॒ योऽ अन्त्यग्ने॒ माकि॑ष्टे॒ व्यथि॒राद॑धर्षीत् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! कोई भी हमें तकलीफ न पहुंचा सके. कोई भी हमें व्यथा न पहुंचा सके. आप हमारे दूर या पास जहां कहीं भी कोई भी दुश्मन हो, उन्हें अपने पाश में बांधने की कृपा कीजिए. (११)
EN English Translation
O agni! No one can hurt us. No one can disturb us. Wherever you are any enemy far or near us, please tie them in your loop. (11)
उद॑ग्ने तिष्ठ॒ प्रत्यात॑नुष्व॒ न्यमित्राँ॑२ऽ ओषतात् तिग्महेते । यो नो॒ऽ अरा॑तिꣳ समिधान च॒क्रे नी॒चा तं ध॑क्ष्यत॒सं न शुष्क॑म् ॥ (१२)

हे अग्नि! ऊपर की ओर स्थित रहिए. आप अपने तन का विस्तार कीजिए. आप हमारे अमित्रो को भस्मीभूत कर दीजिए. जो हमारे नीच शत्रु हैं, उन्हें आप सूखी समिधा की भांति जला कर राख कर दीजिए. (१२)
EN English Translation
O agni! Stay upstairs. You expand your body. You destroy our ego. Those who are our inferior enemies, you burn them like dry samidha and burn them to ashes. (12)
ऊ॒र्ध्वो भ॑व॒ प्रति॑वि॒ध्याध्य॒स्मदा॒विष्कृ॑णुष्व॒ दैव्या॑न्यग्ने । अव॑ स्थि॒रा त॑नुहि यातु॒जूनां॑ जा॒मिमजा॑मिं॒ प्रमृ॑णीहि॒ शत्रू॑न् । अ॒ग्नेष्ट्वा॒ तेज॑सा सादयामि ॥ (१३)

हे अग्नि! आप ऊर्ध्वगामी होइए. आप पूरी तरह हमारे शत्रुओं का नाश कीजिए. आप दिव्य कार्यों को खोजिए. (१३)

O agni! You go upwards. You completely destroy our enemies. You find divine works. (13)
अ॒ग्निर्मू॒र्द्धा दि॒वः क॒कुत्पतिः॑ पृथि॒व्याऽ अ॒यम् । अ॒पा रेता॑सि जिन्वति । इन्द्र॑स्य॒ त्वौज॑सा सादयामि ॥ (१४)

हे अग्नि! आप मूर्धन्य हैं. आप स्वर्गलोक के सब से ऊपरी भाग में प्रतिष्ठित हैं. आप पृथ्वीपालक और जल की पौष्टिकता बढ़ाने वाले हैं. आप को इंद्र देव के ओज से हम यजमान प्रतिष्ठित करते हैं. (१४)

O agni! You are foolish. You are revered in the uppermost part of paradise. You are going to increase the nutrition of earth and water. We honor you as the host with the grace of Indra Dev. (14)
भुवो॑ य॒ज्ञस्य॒ रज॑सश्च ने॒ता यत्रा॑ नि॒युद्भिः॒ सच॑से शि॒वाभिः॑ । दि॒वि मू॒र्द्धानं॑ दधिषे स्व॒र्षां जि॒ह्वाम॑ग्ने चकृषे हव्य॒वाह॑म् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप पृथ्वी और यज्ञ के राजा, नेता व लोक कल्याण को नियुक्त करने बाले हैं. आप स्वर्गलोक में उच्च स्थान को धारते हैं. आप हव्य वाहक हैं. आप अपनी जिहवा से हवि को ग्रहण करते हैं. (१५)

O agni! You are the one to appoint the king, leader and public welfare of the earth and yajna. You hold a high place in heaven. You are a power carrier. You take havi from your tongue. (15)
ध्रु॒वासि॑ ध॒रुणास्तृ॑ता वि॒श्वक॑र्मणा । मा त्वा॑ समु॒द्रऽ उद्व॑धी॒न्मा सु॑प॒र्णोऽअव्य॑थमाना पृथि॒वीं दृ॑ꣳह ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप धुव, धारक हैं. आप विश्वकर्मा से विस्तार पाते हैं. समुद्र आप को नष्ट न करे. वायु अवरोधक (रुकावट) न बने. आप व्यथित मत होइए. आप पृथ्वी को दृढ़ता प्रदान कीजिए. (१६)

O agni! You are the pole, the holder. You get detail from Vishwakarma. May the sea not destroy you. Do not become an air barrier. Don't be distressed. You give strength to the earth. (16)
प्र॒जाप॑तिष्ट्वा सादयत्व॒पां पृ॒ष्ठे स॑मु॒द्रस्येम॑न् । व्यच॑स्वतीं॒ प्रथ॑स्वतीं॒ प्रथ॑स्व पृथि॒व्यसि ॥ (१७)

प्रजापति आप को समुद्र की पीठ पर स्थापित करें. आप जल में विस्तृत होने की कृपा कीजिए. आप पृथ्वी की ही तरह विस्तृत होइए. (१७)

Prajapati install you on the back of the sea. Please be widespread in water. You expand like the earth. (17)
भूर॑सि॒ भूमि॑र॒स्यदि॑तिरसि वि॒श्वधा॑या॒ विश्व॑स्य॒ भुव॑नस्य ध॒र्त्री । पृ॒थि॒वीं य॑च्छ पृथि॒वीं दृ॑ꣳह पृथि॒वीं मा हि॑ꣳसीः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आप भूमि जैसी सुखदायी और विशव को धारण करने वाली अदिति हैं. आप सारे विशव की धारिका हैं. आप पृथ्वी पर अपनी कृपा कीजिए. आप उसे दृढ़ बनाइए. आप उस पर हिंसा मत होने दीजिए. (१८)

You are a land-loving and possessing beauty. You are the guardian of the whole world. You have your grace on earth. You make him strong. Don't let there be violence on him. (18)
विश्व॑स्मै प्रा॒णाया॑पा॒नाय॑ व्या॒नायो॑दा॒नाय॑ प्रति॒ष्ठायै॑ च॒रित्रा॑य । अ॒ग्निष्ट्वा॒भिपा॑तु म॒ह्या स्व॒स्त्या छ॒र्दिषा॒ शन्त॑मेन॒ तया॑ दे॒वत॑याङ्गिर॒स्वद् ध्रु॒वा सी॑द ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवी! समस्त प्राण, अपान, व्यान व उदान शरीरस्थ (वायु के भेद) की प्रतिष्ठा के लिए आप की स्थापना की जाती है. अग्नि आप की रक्षा करें. शीतल शांतिमय साधनों से आप का कल्याण हो. दिव्यता से आप अंगिरा के समान ध्रुव हो कर विराजने की कृपा कीजिए. (१९)

O Goddess! You are established for the prestige of all prana, apana, vyana and udan body (distinction of air). Fire protect you. May you be well-being with cool peaceful means. With divinity, please be as pole like an angira. (19)
काण्डा॑त्काण्डात्प्र॒रोह॑न्ती॒ परु॑षःपरुष॒स्परि॑ । ए॒वा नो॑ दूर्वे॒ प्रत॑नु स॒हस्रे॑ण श॒तेन॑ च ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दूर्वा! आप सभी जगह भलीभांति उग जाती हैं. अपनी तरह हमारी भी संतान और धनवृद्धि की कृपा कीजिए. (२०)

O Durva! You grow well everywhere. Like yourself, please increase our children and wealth. (20)
या श॒तेन॑ प्रत॒नोषि॑ स॒हस्रे॑ण वि॒रोह॑सि । तस्या॑स्ते देवीष्टके वि॒धेम॑ ह॒विषा॑ व॒यम् ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दूर्वा! हम आप के लिए वैसी ही हवि का विधान करते हैं, जिस से आप सैकड़ों हजारों की संख्या में उग कर बढ़ें. (२१)

O Durva! We make the same desire for you, so that you grow in hundreds of thousands. (21)
यास्ते॑ऽ अग्ने॒ सूर्य्ये॒ रुचो॒ दिव॑मात॒न्वन्ति॑ र॒श्मिभिः॑ । ताभि॑र्नोऽ अ॒द्य सर्वा॑भी रु॒चे जना॑य नस्कृधि ॥ (२२)

हे अग्नि! सूर्य देव की जो चमकीली किरणें स्वर्गलोक का विस्तार करती हैं, आज उन किरणों से मनुष्यों का विस्तार हो. (२२)

O agni! The bright rays of the Sun God that expand heaven, today human beings should expand with those rays. (22)
या वो॑ देवाः॒ सूर्य्ये॒ रुचो॒ गोष्वश्वे॑षु॒ या रुचः॑ । इन्द्रा॑ग्नी॒ ताभिः॒ सर्वा॑भी॒ रुचं॑ नो धत्त बृहस्पते ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हे अग्नि! हे बृहस्पति! आप की जो कांति सूर्यरूप में शोभित है, जो गायों, घोड़ों में स्थित है, आप वह सारी कांति हमारे लिए धारण करने की कृपा कीजिए. (२३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! O agni! O Jupiter! Please keep all your radiance for us which is adorned in the form of the sun, which is located in cows and horses. (23)
वि॒राड् ज्योति॑रधारयत् स्व॒राड् ज्योति॑रधारयत् । प्र॒जाप॑तिष्ट्वा सादयतु पृ॒ष्ठे पृ॑थि॒व्या ज्योति॑ष्मतीम् । विश्व॑स्मै प्रा॒णाया॑पा॒नाय॑ व्या॒नाय॒ विश्वं॒ ज्योति॑र्यच्छ । अ॒ग्निष्टेऽधि॑पति॒स्तया॑ दे॒वत॑याङ्गिर॒स्वद् ध्रु॒वा सी॑द ॥ (२४)

विराट् शक्ति ने ज्योति को धारण किया. स्वयं ज्योतिर्मय ने ज्योति को धारण किया. प्रजापति ज्योतिर्मयी पृथ्वी के पृष्ठ भाग पर विराजने की कृपा करें. वे आप को प्राण, अपान, व्यान, धान सारे विशव को प्रभूत ज्योति प्रदान करने की कृपा करें. अग्नि आप के अधिपति हैं. आप देवताओं के साथ स्थिर होने की कृपा कीजिए. आप अंगिरा के समान धुव हो कर विराजिए. (२४)
EN English Translation
Virat Shakti held the light. Jyotirmay himself held the light. Please bless the surface of the earth. May he bless you with the light of life, soul, wealth, and paddy. Agni is your deva. Please be steadfast with the gods. You are as dumb as Angira. (24)
मधु॑श्च॒ माध॑वश्च॒ वास॑न्तिकावृ॒तूऽ अ॒ग्नेर॑न्तः श्ले॒षोऽसि॒ कल्पे॑तां॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी कल्॑पन्ता॒माप॒ऽ ओष॑धयः॒ कल्प॑न्ताम॒ग्नयः॒ पृथ॒ङ् मम॒ ज्यैष्ठ्या॑य॒ सव्र॑ताः । येऽ अ॒ग्नयः॒ सम॑नसोऽन्त॒रा द्यावा॑पृथि॒वीऽ इ॒मे । वास॑न्तिकावृ॒तूऽ अ॑भि॒कल्प॑माना॒ऽ इन्द्र॑मिव दे॒वाऽ अ॑भि॒संवि॑शन्तु॒ तया॑ दे॒वत॑याङ्गिर॒स्वद् ध्रु॒वे सी॑दतम् ॥ (२५)

चैत और वैशाख महीने वसंत ऋतु से संबंधित हैं. दोनों ऋतुएं अग्नि को अंदर से जोड़े रखने की कृपा करों. स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक आपस में सहयोग करने की कृपा करें. ओषधियां हमारे लिए फलीभूत होने की कृपा करें. समान व्रत वाली अग्नि बड़ेबड़े कामों में सहायता करने की कृपा करें. स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक के बीच जो ये अग्नियां हैं, वे समान मन बाली हों. अग्नियां वसंत ऋतु से आवृत हों. वे फलीभूत होने की कृपा करें. सभी देव इंद्र का आश्रय ग्रहण करें. अग्नि देवता के साथ अंगिरा की तरह धुव हो कर विराजिए. (२५)

Chait and Vaishakh months are related to spring season. May both seasons keep the agni connected from the inside. May heaven and earth cooperate with each other. May the medicines come to fruition for us. May the agni with the same fast please help in big tasks. These agnis between heaven and earth are equal minded. The agni should be covered by spring. May they please come to fruition. All gods should take shelter of Indra. Sit with the agni god like a angira. (25)
अषा॑ढासि॒ सह॑माना॒ सह॒स्वारा॑तीः॒ सह॑स्व पृतनाय॒तः । स॒हस्र॑वीर्य्यासि॒ सा मा॑ जिन्व ॥ (२६)

आप अषाढ़ व सहनशील हैं. आप शत्रुओं को पराजित कीजिए. आप सहस्त्र वीर्य बाले हैं. आप हमें जिताने की कृपा कीजिए. (२६)

You are tolerant and tolerant. You defeat the enemies. You are a thousand hair. Please make us win. (26)
मधु॒ वाता॑ऽ ऋताय॒ते मधु॑ क्षरन्ति॒ सिन्ध॑वः । माध्वी॑र्नः स॒न्त्वोष॑धीः ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वायु मधुरता से बहने की कृपा करे. नदियां मधुरतापूर्वक रहें. सारी ओषधियां मधुरतामय होने की कृपा करें. (२७)

Please let the air flow sweetly. May the rivers be sweet. Please be kind to all the medicines to be sweet. (27)
मधु॒ नक्त॑मु॒तोषसो॒ मधु॑म॒त् पार्थि॑व॒ꣳ रजः॑ । मधु॒ द्यौर॑स्तु नः पि॒ता ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
रात्रि मधुर हो. उषा मधुर हो. पृथ्वी मधुमती हो. रज मधुर हो. हमारे पिता स्वर्गलोक मधुमय होने की कृपा करें. (२८)

May the night be sweet. Usha is sweet. The earth is honey. Raj is sweet. Please bless our Father to be be honey in heaven. (28)
मधु॑मान्नो॒ वन॒स्पति॒र्मधु॑माँ२ऽ अस्तु॒ सूर्य्यः॑ । माध्वी॒र्गावो॑ भवन्तु नः ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
चनस्पतियां हमारे प्रति मधुमान हों. सूर्य हमारे प्रति मधुमान (कृपालु) हों. गाएं हमारे प्रति माधवी (मधुरतामय) होने की कृपा करें. (२९)

May the chants be sweet to us. May the sun be kind to us. Sing please be Madhavi (sweet) towards us. (29)
अ॒पां गम्भ॑न्त्सीद॒ मा त्वा॒ सूर्य्यो॒ऽभिता॑प्सी॒न्माग्निर्वै॑श्वान॒रः । अच्छि॑न्नपत्राः प्र॒जाऽ अ॑नु॒वीक्ष॒स्वानु॑ त्वा दि॒व्या वृष्टिः॑ सचताम् ॥ (३०)

(हे कूर्म!) आप जल के गर्भ में विराजिए. आप सूर्य के मंडल में विराजिए. सूर्य आप को न तपाए. वैश्वानर भी आप को संतप्त न करें. आप प्रजा का निरंतर निरीक्षण कीजिए, दिव्य दृष्टि सदैव आप को सचेत करती रहे. (३०)

(Hey Kurm!) You sit in the womb of water. You sit in the circle of the sun. Don't let the sun warm you. Do not make you angry even with vaishnava. You constantly observe the people, may the divine vision always alert you. (30)
