स्वा॒द्वीं त्वा॑ स्वा॒दुना॑ ती॒व्रां ती॒व्रेणा॒मृता॑म॒मृते॑न । मधु॑मतीं॒ मधु॑मता सृ॒जामि॒ सꣳसोमे॑न॒ । सोमो॑ऽस्य॒श्विभ्यां॑ पच्यस्व॒ सर॑स्वत्यै पच्य॒स्वेन्द्रा॑य सु॒त्राम्णे॑ पच्यस्व ॥ (१)

हे ओषध देव! आप स्वादिष्ट, स्वादु, तीव्र व अमृतमय हैं. आप को मधु मिश्रित मधुर सोम के साथ मिला कर सृजित करते हैं. आप दोनों अश््विनीकुमारों के लिए पकने की कृपा करें. आप सरस्वती देवी के लिए पकने की कृपा करें. आप संरक्षक इंद्र देव के लिए पकने की कृपा करों. (१)

परी॒तो षि॑ञ्चता सु॒तꣳ सोमो॒ यऽउ॑त्त॒मꣳ ह॒विः । द॒ध॒न्वा यो नर्यो॑ऽअ॒प्स्वन्तरा सु॒षाव॒ सोम॒मद्रि॑भिः ॥ (२)

हे यजमानो! आप सोम को चारों ओर से उत्तम हवि से सीचिए. आप यजमानों के लिए नीति धारण कीजिए. सोम जल के बीच में हैं. पत्थरों से उस को कूट कर सांचा जाता है. (२)

O hosts! You see Som from all around with the best interest. You follow a policy for hosts. Som is in the middle of the water. It is crushed and moulded with stones. (2)
वा॒योः पू॒तः प॒वित्रे॑ण प्र॒त्यङ् सोमो॒ऽअति॑द्रुतः । इन्द्र॑स्य॒ युज्यः॒ सखा॑ । वा॒योः पू॒तः प॒वित्रे॑ण प्राङ् सोमो॒ऽअति॑द्रुतः । इन्द्र॑स्य॒ युज्यः॒ सखा॑ ॥ (३)

बायु देव शुद्ध, पवित्र व अति तीव्र गति वाले हैं और इंद्र देव के साथ जुड़ते हैं. इंद्र देव के सखा हैं. वायु शुद्ध, पवित्र व बहुत द्रुत गति बाले हैं. इंद्र देव के सखा हैं.(३)

Bayu Dev is pure, pure and very fast and connects with Indra Dev. Indra is the friend of God. The air is pure, pure and very fast moving. Indra is the friend of God. (3)
पु॒नाति॑ ते परि॒स्रुत॒ꣳ सोम॒ꣳ सूर्य॑स्य दुहि॒ता । वारे॑ण॒ शश्व॑ता॒ तना॑ ॥ (४)

सोम पवित्र हैं. चारों ओर से स्रवित (झरते) होते हैं. सोम को पवित्र करते हैं. सूर्य की दुहिता पवित्र करती हैं. श्रद्धा तुम्हें पवित्र बनाती हैं. (४)

Som is holy. There are swarvits (waterfalls) from all sides. Sanctify Som. The sun sanctifies the sun. Faith makes you pure. (4)
ब्रह्म॑ क्ष॒त्रं प॑वते॒ तेज॑ऽइन्द्रि॒यꣳ सुर॑या॒ सोमः॑ सु॒तऽआसु॑तो॒ मदा॑य । शु॒क्रेण॑ देव दे॒वताः॑ पिपृग्धि॒ रसे॒नान्नं॒ यज॑मानाय धेहि ॥ (५)

हे सोम! आप पवित्र तेज झराइए. आप ब्राह्मणों व क्षत्रियों को पवित्र कीजिए. सोम इंद्रिय सामर्थ्य को प्रकट करता है. सरस हो कर सोम और अधिक आनंददायी हो जाता है. यह देवों का देव व चमकीला है. यह यजमानों के लिए रसमय अन्न धारण करता है. (५)

O Mon! You shine the holy light. Sanctify Brahmins and Kshatriyas. Soma reveals the power of the senses. Soma becomes more enjoyable by becoming sour. It is the god of gods and bright. It holds juicy food for the hosts. (5)
कु॒विद॒ङ्ग यव॑मन्तो॒ यवं॑ चि॒द्यथा॒ दान्त्य॑नुपू॒र्वं वि॒यूय॑ । इ॒हेहै॑षां कृणुहि॒ भोज॑नानि॒ ये ब॒र्हिषो॒ नम॑ऽ उक्तिं॒ यज॑न्ति । उ॒प॒या॒मगृ॑हीतोऽस्य॒श्विभ्यां॑ त्वा॒ सर॑स्वत्यै॒ त्वेन्द्रा॑य त्वा सु॒त्राम्ण॑ऽए॒ष ते॒ योनि॒स्तेज॑से त्वा वी॒र्याय त्वा॒ बला॑य त्वा ॥ (६)

अन्नवान किसान पहले ही अन्न को काट कर रख लेता है, ताकि उस में से पर्याप्त जौ निकल सके. ये यजमान कुश के आसन पर विराजमान हैं. यजमान नमस्कारपूर्वक यज्ञ करते हैं. अश्विनी देवों, सरस्वती देवी, संरक्षक इंद्र देव के लिए आप को उपयाम में ग्रहण किया गया है. बही आप का मूल निवास है. हम तेज, वीर्य व बल के लिए आप को यहां स्थापित करते हैं. (६)

The annawan farmer already cuts the grain and keeps it, so that enough barley can come out of it. These hosts are sitting on the seat of Kush. The host performs yagna with namaskar. For Ashwini Devas, Saraswati Devi, Patron Indra Dev, you have been eclipsed in Upyam. The book is your original residence. We set you up here for sharp, force. (6)
नाना॒ हि वां॑ दे॒वहि॑त॒ꣳ सद॑स्कृ॒तं मा सꣳसृ॑क्षाथां पर॒मे व्यो॑मन् । सुरा॒ त्वमसि॑ शु॒ष्मिणी॒ सोम॑ऽए॒ष मा मा॑ हिꣳसीः॒ स्वां योनि॑मावि॒शन्ती॑ ॥ (७)

आप नाना प्रकार से देवताओं का हित व श्रेष्ठ कार्य करने वाले हैं. आप परम व्योम में स्थित रहते हैं. सुरा तुम बलवती हो. यह सोम अलग स्वभाव का है. आप उस के मूल स्थान में प्रवेश करते हुए उस के प्रति हिंसा मत कीजिए. (७)

You are going to do the interest and best work of the gods in various ways. You live in Param Vyom. Sura, you are strong. This Som is of a different nature. Don't commit violence against him as you enter his native place. (7)
उ॒प॒या॒मगृ॑हीतोऽस्याश्वि॒नं तेजः॑ सारस्व॒तं वी॒र्यमै॒न्द्रं बल॑म् । ए॒ष ते॒ योनि॒र्मोदा॑य त्वान॒न्दाय॑ त्वा॒ मह॑से त्वा ॥ (८)

सोम देव! आप उपयाम में ग्रहण किए गए हैं. अश्विनीकुमार के तेज के लिए व सरस्वती देवी के पराक्रम के लिए आप को स्थापित करते हैं. हमारे लिए वीर्य धारिए. (८)

Som Dev! You are eclipsed in the theorem. For the glory of Ashwinikumar, let us establish you for the might of Saraswati Devi. Hold semen for us. (8)
तेजो॑ऽसि॒ तेजो॒ मयि॑ धेहि वी॒र्यमसि वी॒र्यं मयि॑ धेहि॒ बल॑मसि॒ बलं॒ मयि॑ धे॒ह्योजो॒ऽस्योजो॒ मयि॑ धेहि म॒न्युर॑सि म॒न्युं मयि॑ धेहि॒ सहो॑ऽसि॒ सहो॒ मयि॑ धेहि ॥ (९)

You are strong. Force for us. You are Ozwan. Keep the oz for us. You are the menu. Cheer for us. You are tolerant. You have tolerance for us. You are struggling. You fight for us. (9)
या व्या॒घ्रं विषू॑चिक॒ोभौ वृकं॑ च॒ रक्ष॑ति । श्ये॒नं प॑त॒त्रिण॑ꣳ सि॒ꣳहꣳ सेमं पा॒त्वꣳह॑सः ॥ (१०)

जो व्याघ्र और विघूचिका दोनों की रक्षा करती है, जो भेड़िए की भी रक्षा करती है, जो पतनशील बाज की रक्षा करती है, जो सिंह की रक्षा करती है, वही (शक्ति) यजमानों की भी रक्षा करने की कृपा करे. (१०)

May the one who protects both the tiger and the vightika, who also protects the wolf, who protects the fallen eagle, who protects the lion, the same (Shakti) who protects the hosts as well. (10)
यदा॑पि॒पेष॑ मा॒तरं॑ पु॒त्रः प्रमु॑दितो॒ धय॑न् । ए॒तत्तद॑ग्नेऽअनृ॒णो भ॑वा॒म्यह॑तौ पि॒तरौ॒ मया॑ । स॒म्पृच॑ स्थ॒ सं मा॑ भ॒द्रेण॑ पृङ्क्त वि॒पृच॑ स्थ॒ वि मा॑ पा॒प्मना॑ पृङ्क्त ॥ (११)

दूध पीता हुआ बालक प्रमुदित होता हुआ मां को प्रताड़ित करता है, उसी प्रकार हम मातापिता के ऋण से उऋण होना चाहते हैं. मातापिता कल्याणकारी हैं. आप हमें पापों से दूर या अलग करने की कृपा कीजिए. (११)
EN English Translation
The child drinking milk tortures the mother while getting married, in the same way we want to get rid of the debt of the parents. Parents are welfare. Please remove or separate us from sins. (11)
दे॒वा य॒ज्ञम॑तन्वत भेष॒जं भि॒षजा॒श्विना॑ । वा॒चा सर॑स्वती भि॒षगिन्द्रा॑येन्द्रि॒याणि॒ दध॑तः ॥ (१२)

दी॒क्षायै॑ रू॒पꣳ शष्पा॑णि प्राय॒णीय॑स्य॒ तोक्मा॑नि । क्र॒यस्य॑ रू॒पꣳ सोम॑स्य ला॒जाः सो॑मा॒शवो॒ मधु॑ ॥ (१३)

दीक्षा के लिए प्रायणीय (आरंभिक) जौ यज्ञ रूप हैं. खरीदे गए लाजा सोम के लिए कल्याणकारी व मधुमय हैं. (१३)

Barley is the sacrificial form for initiation. The lajas purchased are welfare and sweet for Som. (13)
आ॒ति॒थ्य॒रू॒पं मास॑रं महावी॒रस्य॑ न॒ग्नहुः॑ । रू॒पमु॑प॒सदा॑मे॒तत्ति॒स्रो रात्रीः॒ सुरासु॑ता ॥ (१४)

धन और ओषधियों का चूर्ण आतिथ्य रूप है. महान् वीरों के लिए उपयोगी है. तीन रातों तक उपसद (निकट जाने बाले) के रूप में टपकता और सुरा बन जाता है. (१४)

The powder of money and medicines is the form of hospitality. Useful for great heroes. For three nights, the sub-member (going close) becomes dripping and sura. (14)
सोम॑स्य रू॒पं क्री॒तस्य॑ परि॒स्रुत्परि॑षिच्यते । अ॒श्विभ्यां॑ दु॒ग्धं भे॑ष॒जमिन्द्रा॑यै॒न्द्रꣳ सर॑स्वत्या ॥ (१५)

खरीदे गए सोम का रूप चारों ओर से टपकता है. वैद्य अश्विनी व सरस्वती देवी इंद्र देव के लिए दूध दुहती हैं. (१५)

आ॒स॒न्दी रू॒पꣳ रा॑जास॒न्द्यै वेद्यै॑ कु॒म्भी सु॑रा॒धानी॑ । अन्त॑रऽउत्तरवे॒द्या रू॒पं का॑रोत॒रो भि॒षक् ॥ (१६)

सोम राजा स्वरूप हैं और राजा के आसन पर विराजमान हैं. वेदी पर सुरा का कुंभ स्थापित किया गया है. दोनों के बीच उत्तरवेदी हैं. भिषक् के रूप में छलने (छानने का यंत्र) को स्थापित किया गया है. (१६)

वेद्या॒ वेदिः॒ समा॑प्यते ब॒र्हिषा॑ ब॒र्हिरि॑न्द्रि॒यम् । यूपे॑न॒ यूप॑ऽआप्यते॒ प्रणी॑तोऽअ॒ग्निर॒ग्निना॑ ॥ (१७)

इस यज्ञ में वेदी से वेदी को प्राप्त किया जाता है. इस यज्ञ में कुशा से कुशा को प्राप्त किया जाता है. इस यज्ञ में इंद्रियों से इंद्रिय ज्ञान प्राप्त किया जाता है. इस यज्ञ में स्तंभ से स्तंभ को प्राप्त किया जाता है. इस यज्ञ में अग्नि से अग्नि को प्राप्त किया जाता है. (१७)

अश्विनीकुमार से हवि का धान प्राप्त होता है. सरस्वती देवी से आग्नीश्च प्राप्त होता है. यज्ञ सदन में, पलीशाला में तथा गार्हपत्य अग्नि में इंद्र देव के ऐश्वर्य के अनुकूल हवि देवगणों द्वारा प्रस्तुत की जाती है. (१८)

Havi's paddy is obtained from Ashwinikumar. Agnischa is obtained from Saraswati Devi. The yajna is presented by the Havi Devgans in the house, in the palishala and in the garhapatya agni, according to the opulence of Indra Dev. (18)
प्रै॒षेभिः॑ प्रै॒षाना॑प्नोत्या॒प्रीभि॑रा॒प्रीर्य॒ज्ञस्य॑ । प्र॒या॒जेभि॑रनुया॒जान् व॑षट्का॒रेभि॒राहु॑तीः ॥ (१९)

प्रैष (कष्ट या प्रेरणा) आदि से प्रैष प्राप्त होता है. प्रिय से प्रियदायी की प्राप्ति होती है. यज्ञ से यज्ञ की प्राप्ति होती है. यजन से यज्ञ का अनुकरण करने वाले की प्राप्ति होती है. वषट्कारों से आहुतियों की प्राप्ति होती है. (१९)

Praise is obtained from praish (suffering or motivation) etc. The beloved is attained from the beloved. Yajna leads to yajna. Yajan attains the one who imitates the yajna. Gifts are obtained from the descendants. (19)
प॒शुभिः॑ प॒शूना॑प्नोति पुरो॒डाशै॑र्ह॒वीष्या । छन्दो॑भिः सामिधे॒नीर्या॒ज्याभिर्वषट्का॒रान् ॥ (२०)

पशुओं से पशु प्राप्त होते हैं. पुरोडाश से हवि प्राप्त होती है. छंदों से सामधेनी (विशेष प्रकार के मंत्र) की प्राप्ति होती है. यज्ञ से संबंधित क्रियाओं से वषट्कारों को प्राप्त किया जाता है. (२०)

Animals are obtained from animals. Havi is obtained from Purodash. Samdheni (special type of mantra) is obtained from the verses. Vashatkaras are obtained from the activities related to yajna. (20)
धा॒नाः क॑र॒म्भः सक्त॑वः परीवा॒पः पयो॒ दधि॑ । सोम॑स्य रू॒पꣳ ह॒विष॑ऽआ॒मिक्षा॒ वजि॑नं॒ मधु॑ ॥ (२१)

धान, धान की लपसी, सत्तू आदि, जलमय दूध व दही आदि सोम का रूप है. हवि, ईक्षु (गन्ना) आदि, अन्न हवि व शहद आदि सोम का रूप हैं. (२१)

धा॒नाना॑ रू॒पं कुव॑लं परीवा॒पस्य॑ गो॒धूमाः॑ । सक्तू॑ना रू॒पं बदर॑मुप॒वाकाः॑ । कर॒म्भस्य॑ ॥ (२२)

धान का रूप ही यज्ञ में अन्न के रूप में प्रयुक्त किया जाता है. चारों ओर उस से ही गोधूम फैलता है. बेर सत्तू के रूप में तैयार किया जाता है. जौ को लपसी के रूप में तैयार किया जाता है. इन्हें हव्रि के रूप में प्रयोग में लाया जाता है. (२२)

The form of paddy is used as food in yagya. Godlight spreads from that all around. Plum is prepared as sattu. Barley is prepared as a gloss. They are used as havri. (22)
पय॑सो रू॒पं यद्यवा॑ द॒ध्नो रू॒पं क॒र्कन्धू॑नि । सोम॑स्य रू॒पं वाजि॑नꣳ सौ॒म्यस्य॑ रू॒पमा॒मिक्षा॑ ॥ (२३)

जौ दूध और दही दही रूप में है. अन्न सोम से संबंधित इन रूपों को हम पूरी तरह देखना चाहते व चढ़ाना चाहते हैं. (२३)

आ श्रा॑व॒येति॑ स्तो॒त्रियाः॑ प्रत्याश्रा॒वोऽअनु॑रूपः । यजेति॑ धाय्यारू॒पं प्र॑गा॒था ये॑यजाम॒हाः ॥ (२४)

स्तोत्र से संबंधित ऋचाएं आश्रावय व प्रत्याश्राव के अनुरूप हैं. यज से संबंधित ऋचाएं धाय्या रूप हैं. “यजामहे पद से आरंभ होने वाली ऋचाएं प्रगाथा रूप हैं. (२४)

अ॒र्ध॒ऽऋ॒चैरु॒क्थाना॑ रू॒पं प॒दैरा॑प्नोति नि॒विदः॑ । प्र॒ण॒वैः श॒स्त्राणा॑ रू॒पं पय॑सा॒ सोम॑ऽआप्यते ॥ (२५)

आधी ऋचाओं से उक्थों का बोध होता है. पदों से निविद का बोध होता है. प्रणवों से शस्त्रों के रूप का बोध होता है. दूध से सोम का रूप प्राप्त किया जाता है. (२५)

Half the verses give a sense of the ukthas. The positions give a sense of nivid. Pranavas give a sense of the form of weapons. The form of som is obtained from milk. (25)
अ॒श्विभ्यां॑ प्रातः सव॒नमिन्द्रे॑णै॒न्द्रं माध्य॑न्दिनम् । वै॒श्व॒दे॒वꣳ सर॑स्वत्या तृ॒तीय॑मा॒प्तꣳ सव॑नम् ॥ (२६)

अश्विनीकुमारों से प्रातः सवन की प्राप्ति होती है. इंद्र देव और उन से संबंधित मंत्रों से माध्यंदिन सवन की प्राप्ति होती है. सरस्वती देवी विशवों से संबंधित हैं. उन के माध्यम से तृतीय सवन की प्राप्ति होती है. (२६)

Ashwinikumars get sawan in the morning. Indra Dev and the mantras related to him lead to the attainment of Madhyandin Sawan. Saraswati Devi is related to the worlds. Through them, the third sawan is attained. (26)
वा॒य॒व्यैर्वाय॒व्यान्याप्नोति॒ सते॑न द्रोणकल॒शम् । कु॒म्भीभ्या॑मम्भृ॒णौ सु॒ते स्था॒लीभि॑ स्था॒लीरा॑प्नोति ॥ (२७)

वायव्यो से वायव्य की प्राप्ति होती है. सत् से द्रोणकलश की प्राप्ति होती है. कुंभियों से अंभूण की प्राप्ति होती है. स्थालियों से स्थाली की प्राप्ति होती है. (२७)

यजु॑र्भिराप्यन्ते॒ ग्रहा॒ ग्रहै॒ स्तोमा॑श्च॒ विष्टु॑तीः । छन्दो॑भिरुक्थाश॒स्त्राणि॒ साम्ना॑वभृ॒थऽआ॑प्यते ॥ (२८)

यजुमंत्रों से यजु और ग्रहों से ग्रह की प्राप्ति होती है. स्तोत्रों से इष्ट स्तुतियों, छंदों से उक्थ व शस्त्र की प्राप्ति होती है. साम मंत्रों से शस्त्र साम व अवभूथ की प्राप्ति होती है. (२८)

Yaju mantras get yaju and planets get the planet. From the stotras, the desired praises, verses get the utmost and the weapon. With saam mantras, weapons are attained, sama and avbhuth. (28)
इडा॑भिर्भ॒क्षाना॑प्नोति सूक्तवा॒केना॒शिषः॑ । शं॒युना॑ पत्नीसंया॒जान्त्स॑मिष्टय॒जुषा॑ स॒ꣳस्थाम् ॥ (२९)

Rain occurs due to the consumption of food used in yajna. Blessings are obtained from vagsukta. Patience leads to love in the husband-wife relationship. The desired yajna leads to a state of status. (29)
व्र॒तेन॑ दी॒क्षामा॑प्नोति दी॒क्षया॑प्नोति॒ दक्षि॑णाम् । दक्षि॑णा श्र॒द्धामा॑प्नोति श्र॒द्धया॑ स॒त्यमा॑प्यते ॥ (३०)
