अग्ने॒ जाय॒स्वादि॑तिर्नाथि॒तेयं ब्र॑ह्मौद॒नं प॑चति पु॒त्रका॑मा । स॑प्तऋ॒षयो॑ भूत॒कृत॒स्ते त्वा॑ मन्थन्तु प्र॒जया॑ स॒हेह॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि देव! तुम अरणि मंथन से उत्पन्न हुए हो. यह देव माता अदिति पुत्र की कामना से इस ब्रह्मौदनासव नामक कर्म में ब्राह्मणों को खिलाने के हेतु भात पकाना चाहती है. मरीच आदि सप्त ऋषि पृथ्वी आदि को बनाने वाले हैं. वे इस देवयज्ञ में मंथन के द्वारा तुम्हें यजमान के पुत्र, पौत्र आदि के साथ उत्पन्न करें. (१)
EN English Translation
O God of Agni! You have originated from Arani Manthan. This God mata Aditi wants to cook rice to feed Brahmins in this karma called Brahmaudanasav with the wish of son. Marich etc. sapta rishis are going to make the earth etc. May they produce you with the host's son, grandson etc. through churning in this devyagya. (1)
कृ॑णु॒त धू॒मं वृ॑षणः सखा॒योऽद्रो॑घाविता॒ वाच॒मच्छ॑ । अ॒यम॒ग्निः पृ॑तना॒षाट् सु॒वीरो॒ येन॑ दे॒वा अस॑हन्त॒ दस्यू॑न् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कामना पूर्ण करने वाले एवं जगत् के मित्र सप्त ऋषियो! तुम अरणि मंथन के द्वारा धुआं उत्पन्न करो. ये अग्नि देव स्तुति रूपी ऋचाएं सुन कर उत्तम चरित्र वाले यजमानों की शत्रुओं से रक्षा करते हैं. देवों सहित ये अग्नि देवशत्रु सेनाओं को पराजित करते हैं. अग्नि की सहायता से देवों ने राक्षसों को पराजित किया था. (२)
EN English Translation
O seven sages who fulfill the wish and friends of the world! You generate smoke through arani churning. These agni gods listen to the verses of praise and protect the hosts with good character from enemies. These agnis, including the Devas, defeat the Devashatru armies. With the help of agni, the devas defeated the demons. (2)
अग्नेऽज॑निष्ठा मह॒ते वी॒र्याय ब्रह्मौद॒नाय॒ पक्त॑वे जातवेदः । स॑प्तऋ॒षयो॑ भूत॒कृत॒स्ते त्वा॑जीजनन्न॒स्यै र॒यिं सर्व॑वीरं॒ नि य॑च्छ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उत्पन्न होने वाले प्राणियों के ज्ञाता अग्नि देव! तुम परम सामर्थ्य के लिए अरणि मंथन से उत्पन्न होते हो. पृथ्वी आदि की रचना करने वाले सप्त ऋषियों ने तुम्हें ब्रह्मौदन पकाने के लिए उत्पन्न किया था. तुम इस पत्नी को पुत्र, पौत्र आदि वीरों से युक्त धन प्रदान करो. (३)
EN English Translation
O God of agni, the knower of beings born! You are born from the churning of the forest for the ultimate power. The Sapta rishis who created the earth etc. created you to cook Brahmaudan. You give this wife wealth with sons, grandsons etc. heroes. (3)
समि॑द्धो अग्ने स॒मिधा॒ समि॑ध्यस्व वि॒द्वान्दे॒वान्य॒ज्ञियाँ॒ एह व॑क्षः । तेभ्यो॑ ह॒विः श्र॒पयं॑ जातवेद उत्त॒मं नाक॒मधि॑ रोहये॒मम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रज्वलित अग्नि! तुम समिधाओं के द्वारा अधिक दीप्त बनो एवं यज्ञ के योग्य देवों को जानते हुए उन्हें यहां लाओ. हे जातवेद अग्नि! उन देवों के निमित्त ब्रह्मौदन रूपी हवि पकाते हुए तुम इस यजमान को उत्तम स्वर्गलोक में पहुंचाओ. (४)
EN English Translation
O blazing agni! You become more luminous through the samidhas and bring them here knowing the gods worthy of yajna. O jataved agni! For those gods, while cooking the havi of Brahmaodan, you take this host to the best heavenland. (4)
त्रे॒धा भा॒गो निहि॑तो॒ यः पु॒रा वो॑ दे॒वानां॑ पितॄ॒णां मर्त्या॑नाम् । अंशा॑ञ्जानीध्वं॒ वि भ॑जामि॒ तान्वो॒ यो दे॒वानां॒ स इ॒मां पा॑रयाति ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तुम्हारे लिए अर्थात् अग्नि आदि देवों के लिए, पितरों के लिए और मनुष्यों के लिए पहले जो भाग तीन से विभाजित किए गए हैं, हे देव! पितर एवं मनुष्य! उन भागों को जानो. मैं तुम्हारे लिए उन भागों को अलगअलग करता हूं. उन में देवों का जो भाग है, वह अग्नि में हि के रूप में हवन किया जा रहा है. वह देव भाग इस यजमान पत्नी को इष्ट फल प्रदान करे. (५)
EN English Translation
For you, that is, for the gods of agni, for the ancestors and for the human beings, the parts which have been divided by three, O God! Father and man! Know those parts. I separate those parts for you. The part of the gods in them is being performed in the form of a havan in the agni. May that god part give favored results to this host wife. (5)
अग्ने॒ सह॑स्वानभि॒भूर॒भीद॑सि॒ नीचो॒ न्युब्ज द्विष॒तः स॒पत्ना॑न् । इ॒यं मात्रा॑ मी॒यमा॑ना मि॒ता च॑ सजा॒तांस्ते॑ बलि॒हृतः॑ कृणोतु ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि देव! तुम सामर्थ्य वाले होने के कारण शत्रुओं को पराजित करते हो. तुम बुरे कर्म करने वाले हमारे शत्रुओं को नीचे की ओर मुंह कर के गिराओ. हे यजमान! कारीगर के द्वारा बनाई गई यह शाला तुझे भेंट लाने वाले पुत्र, पौत्र आदि से संपन्न करे. (६)
EN English Translation
O God of Agni! You defeat enemies because you are powerful. You bring down our enemies who do evil deeds. O host! This school made by the artisan should be endowed with the son, grandson etc. who bring you gifts. (6)
सा॒कं स॑जा॒तैः पय॑सा स॒हैध्युदु॑ब्जैनां मह॒ते वी॒र्याय । ऊ॒र्ध्वो नाक॒स्याधि॑ रोह वि॒ष्टपं॑ स्व॒र्गो लो॒क इति॒ यं वद॑न्ति ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमान! तू समान जन्म वाले पुरुषों के साथ कर्मफल के सहित वृद्धि को प्राप्त हो एवं इस पत्नी को अधिक वीर्य प्राप्त करने हेतु स्वाभिमानी बने. हे यजमान! तू देहांत के पश्चात उस स्वर्ग में पहुंच, जिसे उत्तम कर्मो का फल कहा जाता है. (७)
EN English Translation
O host! May you attain growth with the fruits of karma with men of equal birth and become self-respecting to get more semen to this wife. O host! After your death, you reach the heaven, which is called the fruit of good deeds. (7)
इ॒यं म॒ही प्रति॑ गृह्णातु॒ चर्म॑ पृथि॒वी दे॒वी सु॑मन॒स्यमा॑ना । अथ॑ गच्छेम सुकृ॒तस्य॑ लो॒कम् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवगण की यह भूमि बिछे हुए चर्म को स्वीकार करे एवं हमारे प्रति कोमल हृदय बन कर दया करे. पृथ्वी की कृपा के कारण हम यज्ञ के फल के रूप में प्राप्त होने वाले स्वर्ग में पहुंचें. (८)
EN English Translation
May this land of gods accept the lying skin and have compassion for us with a soft heart. Due to the grace of the earth, we should reach heaven as the fruit of yajna. (8)
ए॒तौ ग्रावा॑णौ स॒युजा॑ युङ्ग्धि॒ चर्म॑णि॒ निर्भि॑न्ध्यं॒शून्यज॑मानाय सा॒धु । अ॒व॒घ्न॒ती नि ज॑हि॒ य इ॒मां पृ॑त॒न्यव॑ ऊ॒र्ध्वं प्र॒जामु॑द्भर॒न्त्युदू॑ह ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विज्! सामने रखे हुए एवं लोहे के समान दृढ़ उलूखल और मूसल को एक साथ मिला कर बिछे हुए बैल के चमड़े पर रख लो तथा यजमान के लिए सोमलता के अंशों से बने हुए धानों को कूटो. हे पत्नी! उलूखल और मूसल से धान को कूटती हुई तू हमारी संतान को सेना की सहायता से मारने के इच्छुक शत्रुओं को बाधा पहुंचा. तू मूसल उठाती हुई हमारी संतान को उन्नत स्थान प्राप्त करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Ritvij! Mix the nail and pestle placed in front and strong like iron together and place it on the leather of the lying bull and crush the paddy made of somalata parts for the host. O wife! Crushing paddy with ulukhal and pestle, you obstructed the enemies who wanted to kill our children with the help of the army. Raise the pestle and give our children an elevated place. (9)
गृ॑हा॒ण ग्रावा॑णौ स॒कृतौ॑ वीर॒ हस्त॒ आ ते॑ दे॒वा य॒ज्ञिया॑ य॒ज्ञम॑गुः । त्रयो॒ वरा॑ यत॒मांस्त्वं वृ॑णी॒षे तास्ते॒ समृ॑द्धीरि॒ह रा॑धयामि ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वीर अध्वर्यु! अपने हाथ में उत्तम कर्म वाले उलूखल और मूसल नाम के दो पत्थर ग्रहण करो. प्रसिद्ध एवं यज्ञ के योग्य देव तुम्हारे यज्ञ में आए हैं. हे यजमान! तू यज्ञ कर्म की समृद्धि, सांसारिक सुखों की समृद्धि और परलोक की समृद्धि इन तीन वरों की कामना करता है. मैं इस यज्ञ के द्वारा इन तीन समृद्धियों की साधना करता हूं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O brave man! Take two stones named Ulukhal and Musal with good deeds in your hand. Famous and worthy of sacrifice have come to your yagna. O host! You wish for the prosperity of yajna karma, prosperity of worldly pleasures and prosperity of the hereafter. I practice these three prosperities through this yajna. (10)
इ॒यं ते॑ धी॒तिरि॒दमु॑ ते ज॒नित्रं॑ गृ॒ह्णातु॒ त्वामदि॑तिः॒ शूर॑पुत्रा । परा॑ पुनीहि॒ य इ॒मां पृ॑त॒न्यवो॒ऽस्यै र॒यिं सर्व॑वीरं॒ नि य॑च्छ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूप! चावलों से भूसी को अलग करना तेरा कार्य है और यही तेरे जन्म का कारण है. शूर पुत्रों वाली देवमाता अदिति इस कार्य के लिए तुझे हाथ में लें. जो शत्रु इस पत्नी की हिंसा करने के लिए सेना ले कर आए हैं, उन की हिंसा करने के लिए तू चावलां से भूसी को अलग कर. तू इस पत्नी के लिए वीर पुत्रों एवं पौत्रों से युक्त धन अधिक मात्रा में प्रदान कर. (११)
EN English Translation
Hey soup! It is your job to separate the husk from the rice and this is the reason for your birth. Take you in hand for this task, Devmata Aditi with brave sons. To do violence to the enemies who have brought the army to violence this wife, separate the husk from the chawlas. You should provide more money for this wife with brave sons and grandsons. (11)
उ॑पश्व॒से द्रु॒वये॑ सीदता यू॒यं वि वि॑च्यध्वं यज्ञियास॒स्तुषैः॑ । श्रि॒या स॑मा॒नानति॒ सर्वा॑न्त्स्यामाधस्प॒दं द्वि॑ष॒तस्पा॑दयामि ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे चावलो! मैं स्थिर एवं उत्तम फल वाले कर्म के निमित्त तुम्हें अधिक बना रहा हूं. इसीलिए तुम सूप में बैठ जाओ. यज्ञ में उपयोग के योग्य तुम भूसी से अलग हो जाओ. हम भी तुम्हारे कारण उत्पन्न संपत्ति से अपने समान जन्म वाले पुरुषों की अपेक्षा श्रेष्ठ हो जाएं और द्वेष करने वाले शत्रुओं को अपने पैरों में गिराएं. (१२)
EN English Translation
Oh rice! I am making you more for the sake of a stable and good fruit work. That's why you sit in the soup. You get separated from the husk suitable for use in the yajna. Let us also become superior to the wealth caused by you than men of our same birth and drop the hostile enemies at our feet. (12)
परे॑हि नारि॒ पुन॒रेहि॑ क्षि॒प्रम॒पां त्वा॑ गो॒ष्ठोऽध्य॑रुक्ष॒द्भरा॑य । तासां॑ गृह्णीताद्यत॒मा य॒ज्ञिया॒ अस॑न्वि॒भाज्य॑ धी॒रीत॑रा जहीतात् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे नारी! तू मुझ से विमुख हो कर जल भरने जा और जल ले कर शीघ्र लौट आ. उस समय गायों के जल पीने का जलाशय जल भरने के हेतु तेरे शीष पर चढ़े अर्थात् उस जलाशय से जल ले कर तू जल पात्र सिर पर रख ले. जलाशय के जलों में जो जल यज्ञ के योग्य हैं, उन्हें ग्रहण करना. हे बुद्धिमती! तू यज्ञ के योग्य जलों को अलग कर के त्याग देना. (१३)
EN English Translation
O woman! You turn away from me and fill the water and return quickly with the water. At that time the reservoir of drinking the water of the cows should climb on your head to fill the water, that is, take water from that reservoir and keep the water vessel on your head. To take the water in the waters of the reservoir which are worthy of yajna. O wisdom! You should separate the waters worthy of sacrifice and give it up. (13)
एमा अ॑गुर्यो॒षितः॒ शुम्भ॑माना॒ उत्ति॑ष्ठ नारि त॒वसं॑ रभस्व । सु॒पत्नी॒ पत्या॑ प्र॒जया॑ प्र॒जाव॒त्या त्वा॑गन्य॒ज्ञः प्रति॑ कु॒म्भं गृ॑भाय ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पत्नी! शोभन अलंकारों से युक्त ये नारियां जल भरने के लिए आ गई हैं. तू भी उठ कर जल भरने के लिए तैयार हो जा. तू उत्तम पति के कारण श्रेष्ठ पत्नी एवं संतान के कारण प्रजावती है. यज्ञ तुझे जल के रूप में प्राप्त हुआ है. तू जल से भरा हुआ घड़ा ले कर आ जा. (१४)
EN English Translation
O wife! These women with shobhan ornaments have come to fill water. You also get up and get ready to fill the water. You are the best wife because of the best husband and the prajavati because of the children. You have received yajna in the form of water. You come with a pitcher full of water. (14)
ऊ॒र्जो भा॒गो निहि॑तो॒ यः पु॒रा व॒ ऋषि॑प्रशिष्टा॒प आ भ॑रै॒ताः । अ॒यं य॒ज्ञो गा॑तु॒विन्ना॑थ॒वित्प्र॑जा॒विदु॒ग्रः प॑शु॒विद्वी॑र॒विद्वो॑ अस्तु ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जलो! तुम्हारा जो बलकारक अंश ब्रह्मा ने बनाया था, वही इस यज्ञ में लाया जाता है. हे पत्नी! ये जल मंत्रों एवं ब्रह्मा के द्वारा अनुमति प्राप्त हैं. इन्हें तू घड़े में भर. यह तैयार किया जाता हुआ ब्रह्मौदनासव नामक यज्ञ तेरे लिए स्वर्ग के मार्ग को प्राप्त कराने वाला, चाहे गए स्वर्ग आदि फल को देने वाला पुत्र, पौत्रों का दाता, गाय, घोड़े आदि पशुओं को प्राप्त कराने वाला एवं अनेक सेवकों को प्रदान करने वाला हो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O burn! The powerful part of you that Brahma made is brought to this yajna. O wife! These are allowed by water mantras and Brahma. Fill them in a pitcher. This yajna called Brahmaudanasava is prepared to give you the path of heaven, whether the son who gives the fruits of heaven, the giver of grandsons, the recipient of animals like cows, horses, etc. and provides to many servants. (15)
अग्ने॑ च॒रुर्य॒ज्ञिय॒स्त्वाध्य॑रुक्ष॒च्छुचि॒स्तपि॑ष्ठ॒स्तप॑सा तपैनम् । आ॑र्षे॒या दै॒वा अ॑भिसं॒गत्य॑ भा॒गमिमं तपि॑ष्ठा ऋ॒तुभि॑स्तपन्तु ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! यज्ञ के योग्य चरु अर्थात् हवि पकाने की बटलोई तुम्हारे ऊपर स्थित हो. तुम अपने तेज से इस शुद्ध एवं तपी हुई बटलोई को अधिक तपाओ. गोत्र प्रवर्तक ऋषियों को जानने वाले ब्राह्मण एवं इंद्रादि देव अपनाअपना भाग पा कर इस बटलोई से संतुष्ट हों और इसे अधिक तपाएं. (१६)
EN English Translation
O agni! The charu worthy of yajna i.e. the batloi of cooking havi is located on you. You heat this pure and hot batloi more with your radiance. Brahmins and Indradi Devs, who know the gotra promoter sages, should be satisfied with this batloi by getting their share and heat it more. (16)
शु॒द्धाः पू॒ता यो॒षितो॑ य॒ज्ञिया॑ इ॒मा आप॑श्च॒रुमव॑ सर्पन्तु शु॒भ्राः । अदुः॑ प्र॒जां ब॑हु॒लान्प॒शून्नः॑ प॒क्तौद॒नस्य॑ सु॒कृता॑मेतु लो॒कम् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शुद्ध और पवित्र स्त्रियां यज्ञ के योग्य इन श्वैत रंग के जलों को बटलोई में डालें. वे जल हमें पुत्र आदि रूप संतान और गाय, भैंस आदि पशु प्रदान करें. ब्रह्मौदन को पकाने वाला यजमान पुण्य करने वालों के लोक अर्थात् स्वर्ग को जाए. (१७)
EN English Translation
Pure and holy women put these white colored waters in batloi suitable for yajna. May those waters give us sons etc. children and animals like cows, buffaloes etc. The host who cooks Brahmaudan should go to the world of those who do virtue, that is, heaven. (17)
ब्रह्म॑णा शु॒द्धा उ॒त पू॒ता घृ॒तेन॒ सोम॑स्यां॒शव॑स्तण्डु॒ला य॒ज्ञिया॑ इ॒मे । अ॒पः प्र वि॑शत॒ प्रति॑ गृह्णातु वश्च॒रुरि॒मं प॒क्त्वा सु॒कृता॑मेत लो॒कम् ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ये चावल मंत्र के द्वारा शुद्ध तथा जल के द्वारा धोए गए एवं अमृत के अंश हैं. यज्ञ के योग्य ये चावल बटलोई में भरे हुए जल में प्रवेश करें. हे चावल! बटलोई तुम्हें स्वीकार करे. यजमान इस ब्रह्मौदन को पका कर पुण्य करने वालों के लोक अर्थात् स्वर्ग को प्राप्त हो. (१८)
EN English Translation
These rice is pure by mantra and washed by water and part of nectar. Enter the water filled in this rice batloi eligible for yajna. Hey rice! Batloi accept you. The host should cook this Brahmaudan and attain the world of those who do virtue, that is, heaven. (18)
उ॒रुः प्र॑थस्व मह॒ता म॑हि॒म्ना स॒हस्र॑पृष्ठः सुकृ॒तस्य॑ लो॒के । पि॑ताम॒हाः पि॒तरः॑ प्र॒जोप॒जाऽहं प॒क्ता प॑ञ्चद॒शस्ते॑ अस्मि ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे भात! तू पुण्य के फल के रूप में प्राप्त होने वाले स्वर्ग में अतिशय विस्तीर्ण हो और हजारों अवयवों वाला बन कर फैल. हमारे पिता, पितामह आदि सात पुरुष तेरे द्वारा तृप्त हों एवं हमारे पुत्र, पौत्र आदि सात पीढ़ियां तेरे द्वारा प्रसन्न हों. ब्रह्मौदन को पकाने वाला मैं तेरे लिए पंद्रहवां हूं. (१९)
EN English Translation
O rice! You are very wide in heaven, which is received as the fruit of virtue, and spread as a thousand components. May our father, grandfather etc. seven men be satisfied by you and our sons, grandsons etc. seven generations may be pleased by you. I am the fifteenth to cook Brahmaudan for you. (19)
स॒हस्र॑पृष्ठः श॒तधा॑रो॒ अक्षि॑तो ब्रह्मौद॒नो दे॑व॒यानः॑ स्व॒र्गः । अ॒मूंस्त॒ आ द॑धामि प्र॒जया॑ रेषयैनान्बलिहा॒राय॑ मृडता॒न्मह्य॑मे॒व ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमान! तेरे द्वारा किया जाता हुआ यह ब्रह्मौदनासव नाम का यज्ञ हजार शरीर वाला, अमृतमयी सौ धाराओं से युक्त, देवों तक पहुंचाने वाला तथा पल के रूप में स्वर्ग प्राप्त कराने वाला है. यह ब्रह्मौदन खाए जाने पर भी कभी समाप्त नहीं होता है. हे ब्रह्मौदन! मैं अपने सजातीय पुरुषों को तेरे सामने खड़ा करता हूं. इन्हें पुत्र, सेवक आदि प्रजा के रूप में मेरी अपेक्षा हीन बना. यह सब यज्ञ केवल तुझे ही सुखी और उत्तम बनाए. (२०)
EN English Translation
O host! This yajna named Brahmaodanasava performed by you is a thousand-bodied, full of nectar-filled hundred streams, delivering to the gods and attaining heaven in the form of a moment. It never ends even when brahmodan is eaten. O Brahmaudana! I make my homogeneous men stand before you. They became inferior to me as sons, servants, etc. subjects. All these sacrifices only make you happy and good. (20)
उ॒देहि॒ वेदिं॑ प्र॒जया॑ वर्धयैनां नु॒दस्व॒ रक्षः॑ प्रत॒रं धे॑ह्येनाम् । श्रि॒या स॑मा॒नानति॒ सर्वा॑न्त्स्यामाधस्प॒दं द्वि॑ष॒तस्पा॑दयामि ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पके हुए भात! अग्नि से उठ कर यज्ञ वेदी पर आओ. इस पत्नी को पुत्र, पौत्र रूपी प्रजा के द्वारा बढ़ाओ. यज्ञ में विघ्न डालने वाले राक्षसों को इस स्थान से भगाओ तथा इस पत्नी को उत्तम बनाने के लिए इस का पोषण करो. (२१)
EN English Translation
O cooked rice! Get up from the agni and come to the yagna altar. Raise this wife through the people of son, grandson. Drive away the demons who obstruct the yajna from this place and nurture it to make this wife better. (21)
अ॒भ्याव॑र्तस्व प॒शुभिः॑ स॒हैनां॑ प्र॒त्यङे॑नां दे॒वता॑भिः स॒हैधि॑ । मा त्वा॒ प्राप॑च्छ॒पथो॒ माभि॑चा॒रः स्वे क्षेत्रे॑ अनमी॒वा वि रा॑ज ॥ (२२)

हे यजमान एवं यजमान पत्नी! दूसरों के द्वारा किया हुआ आक्रोश तुम तक न पहुंचे. दूसरों के द्वारा किया हुआ मारण संबंधी जादूटोना भी तुम्हे प्राप्त न हो. तुम इस स्थान में निरोग हो कर निवास करो. हे ब्रह्मौदन! पत्नी, यजमान, आदि को गाएं, भैंसे आदि पशुओं के साथ प्राप्त हों तथा तुम यज्ञ के योग्य इन देवों के साथ यजमान के सामने खड़े होओ. (२२)
EN English Translation
O host and host wife! The anger made by others should not reach you. You may not even get the magic of killing done by others. You should live in this place healthy. O Brahmaudana! Sing to the wife, host, etc., buffaloes etc. should be received with the animals and you stand in front of the host with these gods worthy of yajna. (22)
ऋ॒तेन॑ त॒ष्टा मन॑सा हि॒तैषा ब्र॑ह्मौद॒नस्य॒ विहि॑ता॒ वेदि॒रग्रे॑ । अं॑स॒द्रीं शु॒द्धामुप॑ धेहि नारि॒ तत्रौ॑द॒नं सा॑दय दै॒वाना॑म् ॥ (२३)

ब्रह्मा ने इस वेदी का निर्माण किया. हिरण्यगर्भ ने इसे स्थापित किया एवं ब्रह्मौदन को पकाने के लिए महर्षियों ने इस वेदी की कल्पना की. हे पत्नी! तू देवों, पितरों और मनुष्यों के भागों को धारण करने वाली इस वेदी के समीप बैठ तथा देवों के इस भाग को पका. (२३)
EN English Translation
Brahma built this altar. Hiranyagarbha installed it and the Maharishis conceived this altar to cook The Brahmaudana. You sit near this altar that holds the parts of gods, ancestors and human beings and cook this part of the gods. (23)
अदि॑ते॒र्हस्तां॒ स्रुच॑मे॒तां द्वि॒तीयां॑ सप्तऋ॒षयो॑ भूत॒कृतो॒ यामकृ॑ण्वन् । सा गात्रा॑णि वि॒दुष्यो॑द॒नस्य॒ दर्वि॒र्वेद्या॒मध्ये॑नं चिनोतु ॥ (२४)

प्राणियों की सृष्टि करने वाले सप्त ऋषियों ने देव माता अदिति के द्वितीय हाथ के रूप में होम के साधन इस करछुली को बनाया था. यह करछुली पके हुए भात के शरीरों को जानती हुई वेदी के ऊपर इस भात को स्थापित करे. (२४)
EN English Translation
The Sapta Rishis, who created the creatures, made this voluntary instrument as the second hand of Dev Mata Aditi. This ladle should install this rice on the altar knowing the bodies of the ripe rice. (24)
शृ॒तं त्वा॑ ह॒व्यमुप॑ सीदन्तु दै॒वा निः॒सृप्या॒ग्नेः पुन॑रेना॒न्प्र सी॑द । सोमे॑न पू॒तो ज॒ठरे॑ सीद ब्र॒ह्मणा॑मार्षे॒यास्ते॒ मा रि॑षन्प्राशि॒तारः॑ ॥ (२५)

हे पके हुए एवं हवन के योग्य भात! देव तुम्हारे समीप बैठे. तुम अग्नि के समीप से निकल कर इन्हें प्रसन्न करो. दूध, दही, रूप, अमृत से पवित्र तुम ब्राह्मणों के पेट में बैठो. अपनेअपने गोत्र और प्रवर को जानने वाले ये ब्राह्मण तुम्हें खा कर नष्ट न हों अर्थात् तुम इन की हिंसा मत करना. (२५)
EN English Translation
O cooked and worthy of havana! God sat near you. You come out of the agni and please them. You sit in the stomach of Brahmins, pure with milk, yogurt, form, nectar. These Brahmins, who know their own tribe and pravara, should not eat you and destroy you, that is, you should not commit violence against them. (25)
सोम॑ राजन्त्सं॒ज्ञान॒मा व॑पैभ्यः॒ सुब्रा॑ह्मणा यत॒मे त्वो॑प॒सीदा॑न् । ऋषी॑नार्षे॒यांस्तप॒सोऽधि॑ जा॒तान्ब्र॑ह्मौद॒ने सु॒हवा॑ जोहवीमि ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे राजा सोम रूपी ब्रह्मौदन! इन खाने वाले ब्राह्मणों को उत्तम ज्ञान दो. इन में जो उत्तम ब्राह्मण तुम्हारे समीप बैठे हैं, उन्हें भी उत्तम ज्ञान प्राप्त कराओ. तप से उत्पन्न एवं शोभन आह्वान वाली पत्नी मैं ज्ञानी ऋषियों को ब्रह्मौदन के निमित्त बारबार बुलाती हूं. (२६)
EN English Translation
O King Soma-like Brahmaudan! Give excellent knowledge to these eating Brahmins. Make the best Brahmins sitting near you also get the best knowledge. I call the wise sages again and again for the sake of Brahmaodan, a wife born of penance and with a call for shobhan. (26)
शु॒द्धाः पू॒ता यो॒षितो॑ य॒ज्ञिया॑ इ॒मा ब्र॒ह्मणां॒ हस्ते॑षु प्रपृ॒थक् सा॑दयामि । यत्का॑म इ॒दम॑भिषि॒ञ्चामि॑ वो॒ऽहमिन्द्रो॑ म॒रुत्वा॒न्त्स द॑दादि॒दं मे॑ ॥ (२७)

पाप रहित एवं अपने संसर्ग से अन्यों को भी पवित्र करने वाले एवं यज्ञ के योग्य इन जलों को मैं धोने के प्रयोजन से ब्राह्मणों के हाथ में डालता हूं. हे जलो! मैं जिस अभिलाषा से इस समय तुम्हें सब ओर छिड़कता हूं, मरुतों से मुक्त इंद्र मेरी वह कामना पूरी करें. (२७)
EN English Translation
I put these waters, which are sinless and sanctify others with my contact and are worthy of yajna, in the hands of Brahmins for the purpose of washing. O burn! May Indra fulfill my wish, free from the deserts, with the desire with which I sprinkle you all over at this time. (27)
इ॒दं मे॒ ज्योति॑र॒मृतं॒ हिर॑ण्यं प॒क्वं क्षेत्रा॑त्काम॒दुघा॑ म ए॒षा । इ॒दं धनं॒ नि द॑धे ब्राह्म॒णेषु॑ कृ॒ण्वे पन्थां॑ पि॒तृषु॒ यः स्व॒र्गः ॥ (२८)

यह स्वर्ण मेरे स्वर्ग के मार्ग की कभी न बुझने वाली ज्योति है. यह पकाया हुआ अन्न मेरी कामधेनु है. मैं दक्षिणा के रूप में दिया जाता हुआ धन ब्राह्मणों में धारण करता हूं तथा मेरे पिता, पितामह आदि के द्वारा अभिलषित जो स्वर्गलोक है, मैं उस का मार्ग बनाता हूं. (२८)
EN English Translation
This gold is the never-extinguishing light of my way to heaven. This cooked food is my Kamdhenu. I hold the money given in the form of Dakshina among the Brahmins and I make the path of heaven, which is desired by my father, grandfather etc. (28)
अ॒ग्नौ तुषा॒ना व॑प जा॒तवे॑दसि प॒रः क॒म्बूकाँ॒ अप॑ मृड्ढि दू॒रम् । ए॒तं शु॑श्रुम गृहरा॒जस्य॑ भा॒गमथो॑ विद्म॒ निरृ॑तेर्भाग॒धेय॑म् ॥ (२९)

हे ऋत्विज्! ब्रह्मौदन से अलग की गई भूसी को जातवेद अग्नि में डालो तथा कंबूकों अर्थात् फलकणों को पैर से दूर मसल दो. इस कंबूक को मैं ने गृहपति अर्थात् वास्तु देवता का भाग सुना है. इसे मैं पाप देवता निर्त्ऋति का भाग जानता हूं. (२९)
EN English Translation
O Ritvij! Put the husk separated from the Brahmaudan in the Jatveda agni and mash the kambukas i.e. the phalkans away from the feet. I have heard this kambuk as a part of grihapati i.e. vastu devta. I know it to be part of the sin god Nirtriti. (29)
श्राम्य॑तः॒ पच॑तो विद्धि सुन्व॒तः पन्थां॑ स्व॒र्गमधि॑ रोहयैनम् । येन॒ रोहा॒त्पर॑मा॒पद्य॒ यद्वय॑ उत्त॒मं नाकं॑ पर॒मं व्योम ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ब्रह्मौदन! इन दीक्षा रूप तप करने वालों को, ब्रह्मौदन पकाने वालों को एवं सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले यजमानों को जानो तथा स्वर्ग के मार्ग पर स्थापित करो. उस मार्ग से चल कर यजमान उत्तम एवं दुःख रहित स्वर्ग में स्थित हो. उत्तम पक्षी बाज के समान ये जिस प्रकार सवर्ग में पहुंच सके, वैसा करो. (३०)
EN English Translation
O Brahmaudan! Know the meditators, those who cook brahmaudans and the hosts who squeeze somras and set them on the path to heaven. By walking through that path, the host is located in a good and sorrow-free heaven. Do as best birds as they can reach the class. (30)
