Kanda 15 • Sukta 12
तद्यस्यै॒वंवि॒द्वान्व्रात्य॒ उद्धृ॑तेष्व॒ग्निष्वधि॑श्रितेऽग्निहो॒त्रेऽति॑थिर्गृ॒हाना॒गच्छे॑त् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस के घर में ऐसा विद्वान् व्रतधारी अतिथि बन कर उस समय आए, जब अग्नियां प्रदीप्त हो गई हों और अग्निहोम चल रहा हो तो गृहस्थ स्वयं उस के सामने जा कर कहे कि हे व्रती! तुम आज्ञा दो, मैं हवन करूंगा. (१)
EN English Translation
In whose house such a learned fasting guest came at that time, when the agnis have been illuminated and the agni is going on, then the householder himself goes in front of him and says, "O fasting! You command, I will perform havan. (1)
स्व॒यमे॑नमभ्यु॒देत्य॑ ब्रूया॒द्व्रात्याति॑ सृज हो॒ष्यामीति॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस के घर में ऐसा विद्वान् व्रतधारी अतिथि बन कर उस समय आए, जब अग्नियां प्रदीप्त हो गई हों और अग्निहोम चल रहा हो तो गृहस्थ स्वयं उस के सामने जा कर कहे कि हे व्रती! तुम आज्ञा दो, मैं हवन करूंगा. (२)
EN English Translation
In whose house such a learned fasting guest came at that time, when the agnis have been illuminated and the agni is going on, then the householder himself goes in front of him and says, "O fasting! You command, I will perform havan. (2)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अतिथि विद्वान् आज्ञा दे, तभी हवन करे. यदि वह आज्ञा न दे तो हवन न करे. (३)
EN English Translation
The guest scholar orders, only then do havan. If he does not give orders, do not perform havan. (3)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इस प्रकार के विद्वान् व्रतधारी की आज्ञा से हवन करता है, वह पितृयान और देवयान मार्ग पर जाता है. (४)
EN English Translation
One who performs havan by the order of such a learned fast holder goes on the path of Pitrayana and Devayan. (4)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इस प्रकार के विद्वान् व्रतधारी की आज्ञा से हवन करता है, वह पितृयान और देवयान मार्ग पर जाता है. (५)
EN English Translation
One who performs havan by the order of such a learned fast holder goes on the path of Pitrayana and Devayan. (5)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इस प्रकार के विद्वान् व्रतधारी की आज्ञा से हवन करता है, उस का अग्नि होम सफल होता है तथा देवों इस का कोई दोष नहीं होता. इस लोक के उस गृहस्थ का आश्रम सुरक्षित रहता है. (६)
EN English Translation
Whoever performs havan with the order of such a learned fast, his agni home is successful and there is no fault of this. The ashram of that householder of this world is safe. (6)
पर्य॑स्या॒स्मिंल्लो॒क आ॒यत॑नं शिष्यते॒ य ए॒वं वि॒दुषा॒ व्रात्ये॒नाति॑सृष्टोजु॒होति॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इस प्रकार के विद्वान् व्रतधारी की आज्ञा से हवन करता है, उस का अग्नि होम सफल होता है तथा देवों इस का कोई दोष नहीं होता. इस लोक के उस गृहस्थ का आश्रम सुरक्षित रहता है. (७)
EN English Translation
Whoever performs havan with the order of such a learned fast, his agni home is successful and there is no fault of this. The ashram of that householder of this world is safe. (7)

हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इस प्रकार के विद्वान् व्रतधारी की आज्ञा के बिना हवन करता है, वह न पितृयान मार्ग को जानता है और न देवयान मार्ग का उसे ज्ञान होता है. (८)
EN English Translation
One who performs havan without the permission of such a learned fasting person does not know the Pitrayana path nor does he know the Devayana path. (8)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इस प्रकार के विद्वान् व्रतधारी की आज्ञा के बिना हवन करता है, वह न पितृयान मार्ग को जानता है और न देवयान मार्ग का उसे ज्ञान होता है. (९)
EN English Translation
One who performs havan without the permission of such a learned fasting person does not know the Pitrayana path nor does he know the Devayana path. (9)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उस का हवन विफल होता है और वह देवों का अपराधी होता है. (१०)
EN English Translation
His havan fails and he is the culprit of the gods. (10)
नास्या॒स्मिंल्लो॒क आ॒यत॑नं शिष्यते॒ य ए॒वं वि॒दुषा॒ व्रात्ये॒नान॑तिसृष्टोजु॒होति॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस लोक में उस का आधार नहीं रहता, जो ऐसे विद्वान् की आज्ञा के बिना हवन करता है. (११)
EN English Translation
There is no basis in this world, who performs havan without the permission of such a scholar. (11)
