य॒माय॒ सोमः॑पवते य॒माय॑ क्रियते ह॒विः । य॒मं ह॑ य॒ज्ञो ग॑च्छत्य॒ग्निदू॑तो॒ अरं॑कृतः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञ में यम के लिए सोम को पवित्र किया जाता है. यम के लिए हवि दी जाती है. नाना प्रकार के द्रव्यों से सुशोभित किया गया यज्ञ अग्नि को दूत बना कर यम के पास जाता है. ये ज्योतिष्टोम आदि यज्ञ यम को प्राप्त होते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Som is sanctified for Yama in the yajna. Havi is given for Yama. The yajna, adorned with various types of liquids, goes to Yama by making agni an angel. These jyotishtoms etc. are received by Yama. (1)
य॒माय॒मधु॑मत्तमं जु॒होता॒ प्र च॑ तिष्ठत । इ॒दं नम॒ ऋषि॑भ्यः पूर्व॒जेभ्यः॒पूर्वे॑भ्यः पथि॒कृद्भ्यः॑ ॥ (२)

हे यजमानो! यम के लिए सोम, घृत आदि की आहुति दो. पूर्व पुरुषों तथा मंत्र द्रष्टा अंगिरा आदि ऋषियों के लिए नमस्कार है. (२)

O hosts! Offer Soma, Ghrit etc. for Yama. Salutations to former men and mantra seers Angira etc. (2)
य॑मायघृ॒तव॒त्पयो॒ राज्ञे॑ ह॒विर्जु॑होतन । स नो॑ जी॒वेष्वा य॑मेद्दी॒र्घमायुः॒ प्रजी॒वसे॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! घृत से युक्त क्षीर रूप हवि यम के लिए अर्पण करो. वे हवि पा कर हमें जीवित मनुष्यों में रखंगे और सौ वर्ष की आयु प्रदान करेंगे. (३)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Offer the ksheer form containing ghee to Haviyam. They will destroy us and put us in living human beings and give us a hundred years of age. (3)
मैन॑मग्ने॒ विद॑हो॒ माभि॑ शूशुचो॒ मास्य॒ त्वचं॑ चिक्षिपो॒ मा शरी॑रम् । शृ॒तं य॒दा कर॑सिजातवे॒दोऽथे॑मेनं॒ प्र हि॑णुतात्पि॒तॄँरुप॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! इस प्रेत को भस्म मत करो; इस की त्वचा को अन्यत्र मत फेंको. इस के लिए शोक भी मत करो. जब तुम इस हवि रूप शरीर को पका लो, तब इसे रक्षा के लिए पितरों को दो. इस प्रेत की आत्मा पितृलोक में चली जाए. (४)
EN English Translation
O agni! Don't consume this phantom; Don't throw the skin of this elsewhere. Don't even grieve for this. When you cook this havi form body, then give it to the ancestors to protect it. Let the soul of this ghost go to the fatherland. (4)
य॒दा शृ॒तंकृ॒णवो॑ जातवे॒दोऽथे॒ममे॑नं॒ परि॑ दत्तात्पि॒तृभ्यः॑ । य॒दोगच्छा॒त्यसु॑नीतिमे॒तामथ॑ दे॒वानां॑ वश॒नीर्भ॑वाति ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद अग्नि! जब तू इस प्रेत को पूरी तरह भस्म कर दे, तब इसे पितरों के लिए सौंप दे. जब इस के प्राण निकल जाते हैं, तब यह प्रेत देवों के वश में हो जाता है. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! When you have completely consumed this ghost, then hand it over to the fathers. When his life is gone, then this ghost becomes under the control of gods. (5)
त्रिक॑द्रुकेभिःपवते॒ षडु॒र्वीरेक॒मिद्बृ॒हत् । त्रि॒ष्टुब्गा॑य॒त्री छन्दां॑सि॒ सर्वा॒ ता य॒मआर्पि॑ता ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यह सब का नियंत्रण करने वाला तथा महान यम कद्रुक नाम के तीन यंत्रों से छह उर्वियों को प्राप्त होता है. त्रिष्टुप, गायत्री आदि छंद सब का नियंत्रण करने वाले परमात्मा में स्थित हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
The control of all this and the great Yama Kadruk is obtained by six urvis from three instruments named. Verses like Trishtup, Gayatri etc. are located in the God who controls all. (6)
सूर्यं॒ चक्षु॑षागच्छ॒ वात॑मा॒त्मना॒ दिवं॑ च॒ गच्छ॑ पृथि॒वीं च॒ धर्म॑भिः । अ॒पो वा॑ गच्छ॒ यदि॒ तत्र॑ते हि॒तमोष॑धीषु॒ प्रति॑ तिष्ठा॒ शरी॑रैः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! तू नेत्र द्वार से सूर्य को प्राप्त हो. तू आत्मा के द्वारा वायु को प्राप्त हो तथा वन्य इंद्रियों से आकाश और पृथ्वी को प्राप्त हो तथा अंतरिक्ष और जल को प्राप्त हो. यदि इन स्थानों में जाने की तेरी इच्छा हो तो जा अथवा ओषधि आदि में प्रविष्ट हो जा. (७)
EN English Translation
O ghost! You receive the sun through the door of the eye. You receive air through the Spirit and the heavens and earth from the wild senses and receive space and water. If you want to go to these places, then go or enter medicine etc. (7)
अ॒जोभा॒गस्तप॑स॒स्तं त॑पस्व॒ तं ते॑ शो॒चिस्त॑पतु॒ तं ते॑ अ॒र्चिः । यास्ते॑शि॒वास्त॒न्वो जातवेद॒स्ताभि॑र्वहैनं सु॒कृता॑मु लो॒कम् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! इस प्रेत का जो जन्म न लेने वाला भाग अर्थात् आत्मा है, उसे तुम अपने तप से संतप्त करो. तेरी दीप्त होती हुई ज्वाला इस प्रेत की आत्मा को तपाए. हे जातवेद अग्नि! तेरा जो ज्वालारूपी कल्याणकारी शरीर है, उस के द्वारा इस प्रेत की आत्मा को उत्तम कर्म करने वालों के लोक में ले जा. (८)
EN English Translation
O agni! The unborn part of this ghost, that is, the soul, should be afflicted with your tenacity. May your glowing flame heat the soul of this ghost. O jataved agni! Take the soul of this ghost to the world of those who do good deeds through your flame-like welfare body. (8)
यास्ते॑ शो॒चयो॒रंह॑यो जातवेदो॒ याभि॑रापृ॒णासि॒ दिव॑म॒न्तरि॑क्षम् । अ॒जं यन्त॒मनु॒ ताःसमृ॑ण्वता॒मथेत॑राभिः शि॒वत॑माभिः शृ॒तं कृ॑धि ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद अग्नि! तेरा जो ज्वालारूपी शरीर है, उस से तू झुलोक तथा अंतरिक्ष लोक व्याप्त करता है. तेरा ज्वालारूपी शरीर द्युलोक को जाती हुई इस प्रेत की आत्मा के पीछे जाए तथा दूसरे कल्याणकारी शरीरों के पीछे रह गई इस प्रेत की मृत देह को पूरी तरह जला दे. (९)
EN English Translation
O jataved agni! With your flame-like body, you surround the world of slums and space. Your flame-like body goes after the soul of this ghost going to Dulok and completely burn the dead body of this ghost left behind other welfare bodies. (9)
अव॑ सृज॒पुन॑रग्ने पि॒तृभ्यो॒ यस्त॒ आहु॑त॒श्चर॑ति स्व॒धावा॑न् । आयु॒र्वसा॑न॒ उप॑ यातु॒शेषः॒ सं ग॑च्छतां त॒न्वा सु॒वर्चाः॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हवि के रूप में जो प्रेत तुम्हें दिया गया है तथा हमारे प्रति स्वधा से संपन्न हो कर तुम्हारे द्वारा जलाया जा रहा है, उसे तुम पितृलोक के लिए छोड़ दो. उस का पुत्र आयु से संपन्न होता हुआ अपने घर को लौटे. यह प्रेत सुंदर शक्ति वाला तथा पितृलोक में निवास करने वाला हो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! Leave the ghost which has been given to you in the form of Havi and is being burnt by you after being endowed with self-devotion towards us, you leave it for the fatherland. His son returned to his home after attaining his age. This ghost should be of beautiful power and resides in the fatherland. (10)
अति॑ द्रव॒श्वानौ॑ सारमे॒यौ च॑तुर॒क्षौ श॒बलौ॑ सा॒धुना॑ प॒था । अधा॑पि॒तॄन्त्सु॑वि॒दत्राँ॒ अपी॑हि य॒मेन॒ ये स॑ध॒मादं॒ मद॑न्ति ॥ (११)

हे प्रेत! तू पितृलोक को जाने वाला है. तू सरमा नाम की देवों की कुतिया के श्याम और शबल नाम वाले दोनों पुत्रों के साथ प्रसन्न रहने वाले एवं हव्य संपन्न पितरों के पास पहुंचे. (११)
EN English Translation
O ghost! You are going to go to the fatherland. You reached the happy and happy fathers with both the sons named Shyam and Shabal of the bitch of gods named Sarma. (11)
यौ ते॒ श्वानौ॑यम रक्षि॒तारौ॑ चतुर॒क्षौ प॑थि॒षदी॑ नृ॒चक्ष॑सा । ताभ्यां॑ राज॒न्परि॑ धेह्येनंस्व॒स्त्यस्मा अनमी॒वं च॑ धेहि ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पितरों के प्रभु! पितर मार्ग में स्थित चार नेत्रों वाले जो कुत्ते यमपुर की रक्षा करने के हेतु तुम्हारे द्वारा नियुक्त किए गए हैं, इस प्रेत की रक्षा के लिए उन्हें सौंप दो. यह तुम्हारे लोक में रहने को आया है. इसे बाधा रहित स्थान दो. (१२)

O Swami of fathers! Hand over the four-eyed dogs located in pitar marg, which have been appointed by you to protect Yampur, to protect this ghost. It has come to live in your world. Give it a barrier-free space. (12)
उ॑रूण॒साव॑सु॒तृपा॑वुदुम्ब॒लौ य॒मस्य॑ दू॒तौ च॑रतो॒ जनाँ॒ अनु॑ । ताव॒स्मभ्यं॑दृ॒शये॒ सूर्या॑य॒ पुन॑र्दाता॒मसु॑म॒द्येह भ॒द्रम् ॥ (१३)

बड़ीबड़ी नाक वाले प्राणियों के प्राणों से तृप्ति को प्राप्त हुए तथा प्राणों का अपहरण करने वाले महाबली यमदूत सभी जगह घूमते हैं. ये दोनों दूत सूर्य दर्शन के निमित्त पांच इंद्रियों वाले प्राण को हमारे शरीर में पुन: स्थापित करें. (१३)
EN English Translation
Mahabali Yamdoot, who attained fulfillment from the lives of large-nosed creatures and abducted the lives, roams everywhere. These two messengers should restore the five-sense prana in our body for the sake of sun sighting. (13)
सोम॒ एके॑भ्यःपवते घृ॒तमेक॒ उपा॑सते । येभ्यो॒ मधु॑ प्र॒धाव॑ति॒ तांश्चि॑दे॒वापि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कुछ पितरों के लिए नदी के रूप में सोमरस बहता है. अन्य पितर घृत का उपभोग करते हैं. ब्रह्म याग में अथर्ववेद के मंत्रों का पाठ करने वालों के लिए मधु अर्थात् शहद की नदी है. हे मृतात्मा को प्राप्त प्रेत! तू उन सब को प्राप्त हो. (१४)
EN English Translation
Somers flows as a river for some ancestors. Other ancestors consume ghee. For those who recite the mantras of Atharvaveda in Brahma Yag, madhu i.e. the river of honey. O ghost of the dead! You get them all. (14)
ये चि॒त्पूर्व॑ऋ॒तसा॑ता ऋ॒तजा॑ता ऋता॒वृधः॑ । ऋषी॒न्तप॑स्वतो यम तपो॒जाँ अपि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो पूर्व पुरुष सत्य से युक्त थे, जो साम से उत्पन्न हो कर सत्य की वृद्धि करते थे, हे यम के निमित्त पुरुष! उन तपोबल वाले ऋषियों को तू प्राप्त हो. (१५)
EN English Translation
The former men who were full of truth, who were born out of sama and increased the truth, O man for the sake of Yama! May you receive those sages with tapobal. (15)
तप॑सा॒ येअ॑नाधृ॒ष्यास्तप॑सा॒ ये स्वर्य॒युः । तपो॒ ये च॑क्रि॒रे मह॒स्तांश्चि॑दे॒वापि॑गच्छतात् ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तप के द्वारा, यज्ञ आदि साधनों के द्वारा, दुष्कर कर्म और उपासना के द्वारा महान तप करते हुए जो पुरुष पुण्य लोकों को जाते हैं, हे पुरुष! तू उन तपस्वियों के लोकों को जा. (१६)
EN English Translation
Through penance, through means of yajna, etc., through arduous deeds and worship, men who go to the virtuous worlds, O man! You go to the worlds of those ascetics. (16)
ये युध्य॑न्तेप्र॒धने॑षु॒ शूरा॑सो॒ ये तनू॒त्यजः॑ । ये वा॑ स॒हस्र॑दक्षिणा॒स्तांश्चि॑दे॒वापि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो वीर पुरुष युद्धों में शत्रुओं पर प्रहार करते हैं, जो रणक्षेत्र में शरीर का त्याग करते हैं तथा जो अन्न, दक्षिणा आदि वाले यज्ञों को पूर्ण करते हैं, उन्हें जो फल प्राप्त है, तू उन सभी फलों को प्राप्त कर. (१७)
EN English Translation
Those brave men who attack the enemies in wars, who sacrifice the body in the battlefield and who complete the sacrifices of food, dakshina etc., you get all the fruits that they get. (17)
स॒हस्र॑णीथाःक॒वयो॒ ये गो॑पा॒यन्ति॒ सूर्य॑म् । ऋषी॒न्तप॑स्वतो यम तपो॒जाँ अपि॑ गच्छतात् ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो अनंत द्रष्टा ऋषि सूर्य की रक्षा करते हैं, हे पुरुष! तू यम के पास ले जाने वाला हो कर उन तपस्वी ऋषियों के कर्म फल को प्राप्त कर. (१८)
EN English Translation
The infinite seer sage who protects the sun, O man! You are going to take yama and get the fruits of the deeds of those ascetic sages. (18)
स्यो॒नास्मै॑ भवपृथिव्यनृक्ष॒रा नि॒वेश॑नी । यच्छा॑स्मै॒ शर्म॑ स॒प्रथाः॑ ॥ (१९)

हे वेदी रूपिणी पृथ्वी! तू मरने वाले पुरुष के लिए कंटकहीन बन जा तथा इसे सभी प्रकार का सुख प्रदान कर. (१९)

This altar roopini earth! You become thornless to the man who dies and give him all kinds of happiness. (19)
अ॑संबा॒धेपृ॑थि॒व्या उ॒रौ लो॒के नि धी॑यस्व । स्व॒धा याश्च॑कृ॒षे जीव॒न्तास्ते॑ सन्तुमधु॒श्चुतः॑ ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरने वाले पुरुष! तू यज्ञ आदि की वेदी के विस्तृत स्थान में प्रतिष्ठित हो. पहले तू ने जिन उत्तम हवियों को दिया है, वे तुझे मधु आदि रसों के रूप में प्राप्त हों. (२०)
EN English Translation
O dying man! You are distinguished in the wide space of the altar of yajna etc. First, the best wives that you have given you, you should get them in the form of juices like honey etc. (20)
ह्वया॑मि ते॒मन॑सा॒ मन॑ इ॒हेमान्गृ॒हाँ उप॑ जुजुषा॒ण एहि॑ । सं ग॑च्छस्व पि॒तृभिः॒ सं य॒मेन॑स्यो॒नास्त्वा॒ वाता॒ उप॑ वान्तु श॒ग्माः ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत पुरुष! मैं अपने मन के द्वारा तेरे मन को इस लोक में बुलाता हूं. जिन घरों में तेरे लिए और्ध्वदैहिक अर्थात् देह त्याग के बाद का कर्म किया जाता है, तू हमारे उन घरों में जा तथा संस्कार के बाद पिता, पितामह, प्रपितामह आदि के साथ सपिण्डीकरण की विधि के अनुसार मिल. यम के पास पहुंचा हुआ तू पितृलोक में जा कर भ्रम को दूर करने वाली वायु को प्राप्त कर. (२१)
EN English Translation
O ghost man! I call your mind to this world through my mind. In the houses where the work is done for you, that is, after the renunciation of the body, you go to those houses of ours and after the rites, meet the father, grandfather, father etc. according to the method of purification. Having reached Yama, you go to the fatherland and get the air that removes confusion. (21)
उत्त्वा॑ वहन्तुम॒रुत॑ उदवा॒हा उ॑द॒प्रुतः॑ । अ॒जेन॑ कृ॒ण्वन्तः॑ शी॒तं व॒र्षेणो॑क्षन्तु॒बालिति॑ ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! मरुद्गण तुझे व्योम में धारण करें. वायु तुझे ऊर्ध्वलोक में पहुंचाए. जल को धारण करने वाले तथा वर्षा करने वाले मेघ समीप में भी अज अर्थात् अजन्मा आत्मा सहित तुझे वर्षा के जल से सींचें. (२२)
EN English Translation
O ghost! Let the deserts wear you in Vyom. May the wind bring you to the upper world. The clouds that hold water and rain should also water you with rain water with aj i.e. unborn souls nearby. (22)
उद॑ह्व॒मायु॒रायु॑षे॒ क्रत्वे॒ दक्षा॑य जी॒वसे॑ । स्वान्ग॑च्छतु ते॒ मनो॒ अधा॑पि॒तॄँरुप॑ द्रव ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! प्राणन अर्थात् सांस लेने और अपानन अर्थात् अपान वायु छोड़ने के व्यापार अर्थात् कार्य के लिए मैं तेरी आयु का आह्वान करता हूं. तेरा मन संस्कार से उत्पन्न नवीन शरीर को प्राप्त हो. इस के बाद तू पितरों के समीप पहुंच. (२३)
EN English Translation
O ghost! I call upon your age for the business of pranan i.e. breathing and apanaan i.e. leaving the air. May your mind receive a new body born out of sanskar. After this, you reach the ancestors. (23)
मा ते॒ मनो॒मासो॒र्माङ्गा॑नां॒ मा रस॑स्य ते । मा ते॑ हास्त त॒न्वः किं च॒नेह ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! तेरा मन और तेरी इंद्रियां तेरा त्याग न करें. तेरे प्राण के किसी अंश का क्षय न हो. तेरे शरीर के अंगों में किसी प्रकार का विकार न हो. तेरे शरीर में रुधिर रस आदि भी पूरी मात्रा में रहें. तेरा कोई भी भाग तुझ से अलग न हो. (२४)
EN English Translation
O ghost! Let your mind and your senses not abandon you. Let no part of your life be lost. There should be no disorder in your body parts. Blood juice etc. should also be in full quantity in your body. No part of you should be separated from you. (24)
मा त्वा॑ वृ॒क्षःसं बा॑धिष्ट॒ मा दे॒वी पृ॑थि॒वी म॒ही । लो॒कं पि॒तृषु॑ वि॒त्त्वैध॑स्व य॒मरा॑जसु ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! तू जिस वृक्ष के नीचे बैठे, वह तुझे व्यथित न करे. तू जिस धरती का आश्रय ले, वह भी तुझे पीड़ा न पहुंचाए. तू यम की प्रजा रूप पितरों के स्थान पर जा कर वृद्धि प्राप्त कर. (२५)
EN English Translation
O ghost! The tree under which you sit, let not disturb you. The earth you take shelter in should not cause you pain. You go to the place of yama's subjects and get growth. (25)
यत्ते॒अङ्ग॒मति॑हितं परा॒चैर॑पा॒नः प्रा॒णो य उ॑ वा ते॒ परे॑तः । तत्ते॑ सं॒गत्य॑पि॒तरः॒ सनी॑डा घा॒साद्घा॒सं पुन॒रा वे॑शयन्तु ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रेत! तेरा जो अंग तेरे शरीर से अलग हो गया था, जो प्राण वापस न होने के लिए तेरे शरीर से निकल गए थे, उन सब को एक स्थान पर स्थित पितर तुझे एक शरीर से दूसरे शरीर में प्रविष्ट करें. (२६)
EN English Translation
O ghost! May the father in one place enter you from one body to another all your part that was separated from your body, which was separated from your body, which was separated from your body, to not return to life. (26)
अपे॒मं जी॒वाअ॑रुधन्गृ॒हेभ्य॒स्तं निर्व॑हत॒ परि॒ ग्रामा॑दि॒तः । मृ॒त्युर्य॒मस्या॑सीद्दू॒तःप्रचे॑ता॒ असू॑न्पि॒तृभ्यो॑ गम॒यां च॑कार ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जीवित बंधुओ! इस प्रेत को घर से ले जाओ. उसे उठा कर ग्राम से बाहर ले जाओ. यम के दूत रूप मृत्यु ने इस के प्राणों को पितर के रूप में करने के लिए ले लिया है. (२७)
EN English Translation
O living brothers! Take this phantom from home. Pick him up and take him out of the gram. Death, the messenger form of Yama, has taken its life to the form of pitar. (27)
ये दस्य॑वःपि॒तृषु॒ प्रवि॑ष्टा ज्ञा॒तिमु॑खा अहु॒ताद॒श्चर॑न्ति । प॑रा॒पुरो॑ नि॒पुरो॒ येभर॑न्त्य॒ग्निष्टान॒स्मात्प्र ध॑माति य॒ज्ञात् ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो राक्षसों के समान पिता, पितामह आदि पितरों में मिल कर बैठ जाते हैं, माया कर के हवि का भक्षण करते हैं तथा पिंडदान करने वाले पुत्रों और पौत्रों की हिंसा करते हैं, उन मायावी राक्षसों को पितृयाग से अग्नि देव बाहर निकालें. (२८)
EN English Translation
Those who sit together in the ancestors like the demons, father, grandfather, etc., eat the havi by doing maya and do violence to the sons and grandsons who donate pind, take those elusive demons out of the pitrayag by agni god. (28)
सं वि॑शन्त्वि॒हपि॒तरः॒ स्वा नः॑ स्यो॒नं कृ॒ण्वन्तः॑ प्रति॒रन्त॒ आयुः॑ । तेभ्यः॑ शकेम ह॒विषा॒नक्ष॑माणा॒ ज्योग्जीव॑न्तः श॒रदः॑ पुरू॒चीः ॥ (२९)

हमारे गोत्र में उत्पन्न पिता, पितामह आदि सभी पितर भलीभांति यज्ञ में आ कर बैठे तथा हमें सुखी बनाएं. वे हमारी आयु की वृद्धि करें. हम भी आयु प्राप्त कर के हवियों द्वारा पितरों को पूजते हुए चिरकाल तक जीवित रहें. (२९)
EN English Translation
All the ancestors born in our gotra, father, etc. sat in the yagna well and make us happy. They increase our age. We should also attain age and live forever by worshiping the ancestors by the havis. (29)
यां ते॑ धे॒नुंनि॑पृ॒णामि॒ यमु॑ ते क्षी॒र ओ॑द॒नम् । तेना॒ जन॑स्यासो भ॒र्ता योऽत्रास॒दजी॑वनः ॥ (३०)

हे प्रेत! मैं तेरे निमित्त गोदान करता हूं. मैं तेरे लिए दूध से बना जो भात देता हूं, उस के द्वारा तू यमलोक में अपने जीवन को पुष्ट करने वाला हो. (३०)

O ghost! I donate for you. You are going to strengthen your life in Yamlok through the rice I give you made of milk. (30)
