नेच्छत्रुः॒ प्राशं॑ जयाति॒ सह॑मानाभि॒भूर॑सि । प्राशं॒ प्रति॑प्राशो जह्यर॒सान्कृ॑ण्वोषधे ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ग्वारपाठा नामक जड़ी! तुम्हारा सेवन करने वाले वक्ता को उस का विरोधी न जीत सके. तुम्हारा स्वभाव शत्रु को सहन करने का है, इसीलिए तुम प्रतिवादी को पराजित कर देती हो. मुझ प्रश्न पूछने वाले से जो विरोधी प्रतिप्रश्न पूछते हैं, उन को तुम पराजित करो. हे ओषधि! मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का गला सुखा दो, जिस से वे बोल न सकें. (१)
EN English Translation
O herb called guarpatha! The speaker who consumes you cannot win his opponent. Your nature is to tolerate the enemy, that is why you defeat the defendant. Defeat the opponents who ask me questions. O medicine! Dry the throats of my opposing speakers so that they cannot speak. (1)
सु॑प॒र्णस्त्वान्व॑विन्दत्सूक॒रस्त्वा॑खनन्न॒सा । प्राशं॒ प्रति॑प्राशो जह्यर॒सान्कृ॑ण्वोषधे ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ग्वारपाठा नामक जड़ी! सुंदर पंखों वाले गरुड़ ने विष दूर करने के लिए तुम्हें खोज कर प्राप्त किया था. आदि वाराह ने अपनी थूथन से तुम्हें खोदा था. मुझ प्रश्न पूछने वाले से जो विरोधी प्रतिप्रश्न पूछते हैं, उन्हें तुम पराजित करो. हे ओषधि! मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का गला सुखा दो, जिस से वे बोल न सकें. (२)
EN English Translation
O herb called guarpatha! Garuda with beautiful wings had discovered and got you to remove poison. Adi Varah dug you up with his snout. Defeat the opponents who ask me questions. O medicine! Dry the throats of my opposing speakers so that they cannot speak. (2)
इन्द्रो॑ ह चक्रे त्वा बा॒हावसु॑रेभ्य॒ स्तरी॑तवे । प्राशं॒ प्रति॑प्राशो जह्यर॒सान्कृ॑ण्वोषधे ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ग्वारापाठा नामक जड़ी! इंद्र ने असुरों की हिंसा करने के लिए तुम्हें अपनी भुजाओं में धारण किया था. मुझ प्रश्न पूछने वाले से जो विरोधी प्रतिप्रश्न पूछते हैं, उन्हें तुम पराजित करो तथा मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का गला सुखा दो, जिस से वे बोल न सकें. (३)
EN English Translation
O root called gwarapatha! Indra held you in his arms to do violence to the asuras. Defeat the opponents who ask me questions and dry the throats of my opposing speakers so that they cannot speak. (3)
पा॒टामिन्द्रो॒ व्या॑श्ना॒दसु॑रेभ्य॒ स्तरी॑तवे । प्राशं॒ प्रति॑प्राशो जह्यर॒सान्कृ॑ण्वोषधे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने असुरों की हिंसा करने के लिए ग्वारपाठा नाम की जड़ी को खाया था. हे ग्वारपाठा! मुझ प्रश्न पूछने वाले से जो विरोधी प्रतिप्रश्न पूछते हैं, उन्हें तुम पराजित करो तथा मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का गला सुखा दो, जिस से बोल न सकें. (४)
EN English Translation
Indra had eaten a herb named Guarpatha to commit violence against the asuras. O guar patha! Defeat the opponents who ask me questions and dry the throats of my opposing speakers, so that they cannot speak. (4)
तया॒हं शत्रू॑न्त्साक्ष॒ इन्द्रः॑ सालावृ॒काँ इ॑व । प्राशं॒ प्रति॑प्राशो जह्यर॒सान्कृ॑ण्वोषधे ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ग्वारपाठे को धारण कर के अथवा खा कर मैं अपने विरोधी वक्ताओं को उसी प्रकार निरुत्तर कर दूंगा, जिस प्रकार इंद्र ने जंगली कुत्तों का रूप धारण करने वाले असुरों को हराया था. हे ग्वारापाठा! मुझ प्रश्न करने वाले से जो विरोधी प्रतिप्रश्न करते हैं, उन्हें तुम पराजित करो तथा मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का गला सुखा दो, जिस से वे बोल न सकें. (५)
EN English Translation
By wearing or eating a guarpatha, I will neutralize my opposing speakers in the same way that Indra defeated the asuras who took the form of wild dogs. O God! Defeat the opponents who question me and dry the throats of my opposing speakers so that they cannot speak. (5)
रुद्र॒ जला॑षभेषज॒ नील॑शिखण्ड॒ कर्म॑कृत् । प्राशं॒ प्रति॑प्राशो जह्यर॒सान्कृ॑ण्वोषधे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सुखकर जड़ीबूटियों वाले, नीले रंग के विखंड अर्थात् मोर के पंखों के मुकुट से युक्त एवं अपने उपासकों के दुष्कर्मो को काटने वाले रुद्र! मेरे द्वारा सेवन की जाती हुई ग्वारपाठा नाम की जड़ी को मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का तिरस्कार करने योग्य बनाओ. हे ग्वारपाठा! मुझ प्रश्न करने वाले से जो विरोधी प्रतिप्रश्न पूछते हैं, उन्हें तुम पराजित करो तथा मेरे विरोधी वक्ताओं का मुंह सुखा दो, जिस से वे बोल न सकें. (६)
EN English Translation
O Rudra with happy herbs, with blue fragments i.e. crowns of peacock feathers and cutting the misdeeds of his worshippers! Make the jadi called Guarpatha consumed by me despise my opposing speakers. O guar patha! Defeat the opponents who ask me the counter-question and dry the mouths of the speakers opposing me so that they cannot speak. (6)
तस्य॒ प्राशं॒ त्वं ज॑हि॒ यो न॑ इन्द्राभि॒दास॑ति । अधि॑ नो ब्रूहि॒ शक्ति॑भिः प्रा॒शि मामुत्त॑रं कृधि ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जो विरोधी वक्ता अपनी युक्तियों से मेरा तिरस्कार करता है, तुम उस के उस प्रश्न को समाप्त कर दो, जो मेरे प्रतिकूल हो. तुम अपनी शक्तियों से मुझे अधिक बोलने वाला बनाओ तथा मुझ प्रश्न पूछने वाले को उत्तर देने वाले से श्रेष्ठ बनाओ. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The opposing speaker who despises me with his tactics, you put an end to that question which is contrary to me. Make me more spoken with your powers and make me the one who asks questions better than the one who answers. (7)
