समा॑स्त्वाग्न ऋ॒तवो॑ वर्धयन्तु संवत्स॒रा ऋष॑यो॒ यानि॑ स॒त्या । सं दि॒व्येन॑ दीदिहि रोच॒नेन॒ विश्वा॒ आ भा॑हि प्र॒दिश॒श्चत॑स्रः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! संवत्सर, ऋषिगण एवं पृथ्वी आदि तत्त्व तुम्हारी वृद्धि करें. इन सब के द्वारा बढ़े हुए तुम प्रकाश युक्त शरीर से दीप्त बनो तथा पूर्व आदि चार दिशाओं को और आग्नेय आदि चार विदिशाओं अर्थात् दिशा कोणों को प्रकाशित करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! Samvatsar, sages and earth etc. elements increase you. By all this, you become illuminated with a body full of light and illuminate the four directions of east and four directions like southeast, that is, direction angles. (1)
सं चे॒ध्यस्वा॑ग्ने॒ प्र च॑ वर्धये॒ममुच्च॑ तिष्ठ मह॒ते सौभ॑गाय । मा ते॑ रिषन्नुपस॒त्तारो॑ अग्ने ब्र॒ह्माण॑स्ते य॒शसः॑ सन्तु॒ मान्ये ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम स्वयं दीप्त बनो एवं इस यजमान की इच्छाएं पूर्ण करते हुए इसे समृद्ध बनाओ एवं उस के सौभाग्य के हेतु उत्साहित बनो. तुम्हारे सेवक ऋत्विज् आदि नष्ट न हों. हे अग्नि! तुम्हारे ऋत्विज् ब्राह्मण ही यशस्वी हैं, अन्य नहीं. (२)
EN English Translation
O agni! You yourself become bright and fulfill the wishes of this host and make it prosperous and be excited for his good fortune. Your servants should not be destroyed. O agni! Your Ritvij Brahmins are successful, not others. (2)
त्वाम॑ग्ने वृणते ब्राह्म॒णा इ॒मे शि॒वो अ॑ग्ने सं॒वर॑णे भवा नः । स॑पत्न॒हाग्ने॑ अभिमाति॒जिद्भ॑व॒ स्वे गये॑ जागृ॒ह्यप्र॑युछन् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम ब्राह्मण तुम्हारी आराधना करते हैं. तुम हमारे प्रमादों को शांत करते हुए अथवा छिपाते हुए वर्तमान रहो. हे अग्नि! शत्रुओं को पराजित एवं पापों का विनाश करो. बुम प्रमाद न करते हुए अपने घर में जागृत रहो. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! We Brahmins worship you. You remain present, calming or hiding our cravings. O agni! Defeat enemies and destroy sins. Stay awake in your home without making fuss. (3)
क्ष॒त्रेणा॑ग्ने॒ स्वेन॒ सं र॑भस्व मि॒त्रेणा॑ग्ने मित्र॒धा य॑तस्व । स॑जा॒तानां॑ मध्यमे॒ष्ठा राज्ञा॑मग्ने वि॒हव्यो॑ दीदिही॒ह ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि देव! तुम अपने बल से संयुक्त बनो. हे मित्र का पोषण करने वाले अग्नि! तुम मित्र भाव से उपकार करने वाले बनो. तुम अपने समान उत्पन्न ब्राह्मणों में मध्यस्थ एवं षत्रियों में यज्ञ हो. हे अग्नि! इस प्रकार के तुम, इस यज्ञ में प्रकाशित हो जाओ. (४)
EN English Translation
O God of Agni! You be united by your force. O agni that nourishes a friend! You be kind to you friends. You are the mediator among the Brahmins born like you and the yajna among the shatris. O agni! This type of you, get illuminated in this yajna. (4)
अति॒ निहो॒ अति॒ सृधो ऽत्यचि॑त्ती॒रति॒ द्विषः॑ । विश्वा॒ ह्य॑ग्ने दुरि॒ता तर॒ त्वमथा॒स्मभ्यं॑ स॒हवी॑रं र॒यिं दाः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम इंद्रियों के विषयों से उत्पन्न दोषों को, पाप बुद्धि वाले मनुष्यों को, देह का शोषण करने वाले रोगों को एवं हमारे शत्रुओं को समाप्त करो. तुम हमें समस्त पापों से पार करो तथा हमारे लिए पुत्र, पौत्र आदि से युक्त धन प्रदान करो. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You should eliminate the defects arising from the subjects of the senses, the sins of the intellect, the diseases that exploit the body, and our enemies. May you overcome us from all sins and give us wealth containing sons, grandsons, etc. (5)
