यो जा॒त ए॒व प्र॑थ॒मो मन॑स्वान्दे॒वो दे॒वान्क्रतु॑ना प॒र्यभू॑षत् । यस्य॒ शुष्मा॒द्रोद॑सी॒ अभ्य॑सेतां नृ॒म्णस्य॑ म॒ह्ना स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र के बल से आकाश और पृथ्वी भयभीत रहते हैं. इंद्र ने प्रकट होते ही अन्य देवताओं को अपनी रक्षा में ले लिया. (१)
EN English Translation
The sky and earth are frightened by the force of Indra. As soon as Indra appeared, he took the other gods into his defense. (1)
यः पृ॑थि॒वीं व्यथ॑माना॒मदृं॑ह॒द्यः पर्व॑ता॒न्प्रकु॑पिताँ॒ अर॑म्णात् । यो अ॒न्तरि॑क्षं विम॒मे वरी॑यो॒ यो द्या॒मस्त॑भ्ना॒त्स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे असुर! इंदर वे हैं, जिन्होंने हिलती हुई भूमि को स्थिर किया, पंखों वाले पर्वतों के पंख काट कर उन्हें अचल बना दिया तथा अंतरिक्ष और आकाश को स्थिर किया. (२)
EN English Translation
O asur! Inder is the one who stabilized the shaking land, cut the wings of the winged mountains and made them immovable and stabilized space and the sky. (2)
यो ह॒त्वाहि॒मरि॑णात्स॒प्त सिन्धू॒न्यो गा उ॒दाज॑दप॒धा व॒लस्य॑ । यो अश्म॑नोर॒न्तर॒ग्निं ज॑जान सं॒वृक्स॒मत्सु॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन्होंने आकाश में विचरण करने वाले मेघ का भेदन कर के नदियों को प्रवाहित किया तथा बल असुर द्वारा चुराई गई गायों को प्रकट किया, जिन्होंने मेघों में भरे हुए पाषाणों से विद्युत को उत्पन्न किया तथा जो युद्धं में शत्रुओं का विनाश करते हैं, वे ही इंद्र हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Those who pierced the clouds moving in the sky and flowed the rivers and revealed the cows stolen by the force asura, who generated electricity from the stones filled in the clouds and who destroy the enemies in the war, they are Indra. (3)
येने॒मा विश्वा॒ च्यव॑ना कृ॒तानि॒ यो दासं॒ वर्ण॒मध॑रं॒ गुहाकः॑ । श्व॒घ्नीव॒ यो जि॑गी॒वां ल॒क्षमाद॑द॒र्यः पु॒ष्टानि॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे असुरो! जिन्होंने दिखाई देते हुए लोकों को स्थिर किया, असुरों को गुफाओं में डाल दिया, प्रत्यक्ष शत्रुओं पर विजय प्राप्त की तथा जो शत्रु के धनों को छीन लेते हैं, वे ही इंद्र हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O Asuro! Those who stabilized the visible worlds, put the asuras in caves, conquered the direct enemies and those who take away the enemy's wealth are Indra. (4)
यं स्मा॑ पृ॒च्छन्ति॒ कुह॒ सेति॑ घो॒रमु॒तेमा॑हु॒र्नैषो अ॒स्तीत्ये॑नम् । सो अ॒र्यः पु॒ष्टीर्विज॑ इ॒वा मि॑नाति॒ श्रद॑स्मै धत्त॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शत्रुओं का विनाश करने वाले इंद्र के संबंध में लोग अनेक शंकाएं करते हैं. इंद्र शत्रुओं की रक्षा करने वाली सेनाओं का पूर्ण नाश कर देते हैं. हे मनुष्यो! उन इंद्र पर विश्वास करो तथा उन के प्रति श्रद्धावान बनो. इंद्र के अतिरिक्त वृत्रासुर आदि शत्रुओं को कौन जीत सकता था. वे इंद्र शत्रु विजेता हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
People have many doubts about Indra, who destroys enemies. Indra completely destroys the armies that protect the enemies. O men! Believe in that Indra and be reverential to him. Apart from Indra, who could have conquered enemies like Vritrasura etc. They are indra enemy conquerors. (5)
यो र॒ध्रस्य॑ चोदि॒ता यः कृ॒शस्य॒ यो ब्र॒ह्मणो॒ नाध॑मानस्य की॒रेः । यु॒क्तग्रा॑व्णो॒ योऽवि॒ता सु॑शि॒प्रः सु॒तसो॑मस्य॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इंद्र निर्धनों को धन देते हैं और असहायों की सहायता करते हैं, जो स्तुति करने वाले ब्राह्मणों को मनचाहा फल प्रदान करते हैं, जिन की चिबुक अर्थात् ठुड्डी सुंदर है तथा जो सोम का संस्कार करने वाले यजमानों के रक्षक हैं, हे मनुष्यो! वे ही इंद्र हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Indra, who gives money to the poor and helps the helpless, who gives the desired results to the praising Brahmins, whose chin is beautiful and who is the protector of the hosts who perform the sacrament of Soma, O men! He is Indra. (6)
यस्याश्वा॑सः प्र॒दिशि॒ यस्य॒ गावो॒ यस्य॒ ग्रामा॒ यस्य॒ विश्वे॒ रथा॑सः । यः सूर्यं॒ य उ॒षसं॑ ज॒जान॒ यो अ॒पां ने॒ता स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन के पास मांगने वालों को देने के लिए बहुत सी गाएं, अश्व, ग्राम, रथ, गज, ऊंट आदि सब कुछ है, जिन्होंने प्रकाश के लिए सूर्य का उदय किया है तथा उषा को प्रकट किया है, जो वर्षा के जल के प्रेरक हैं, वे ही इंद्र हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Those who have many cows, horses, villages, chariots, yards, camels, etc. to give to those who ask for it, who have risen the sun for light and revealed Usha, who are the originators of rain water, are Indra. (7)
यं क्रन्द॑सी संय॒ती वि॒ह्वये॑ते॒ परेऽव॑र उ॒भया॑ अ॒मित्राः॑ । स॑मा॒नं चि॒द्रथ॑मातस्थि॒वांसा॒ नाना॑ हवेते॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आकाश और पृथ्वी दोनों एकमत हो कर इंद्र का आह्वान करते हैं. द्युलोक हवि के लिए तथा पृथ्वी वर्षा के लिए इंद्र को बुलाते हैं. समान रथ में बैठे हुए सेनापति जिन्हें बुलाते हैं, वे ही इंद्र हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Both the sky and the earth unanimously invoke Indra. Dulok calls Indra for Havi and Earth for rain. The commanders sitting in the same chariot call him are Indra. (8)
यस्मा॒न्न ऋ॒ते वि॒जय॑न्ते॒ जना॑सो॒ यं युध्य॑माना॒ अव॑से॒ हव॑न्ते । यो विश्व॑स्य प्रति॒मानं॑ ब॒भूव॒ यो अ॑च्युत॒च्युत्स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र की सहायता के बिना विजय की कामना करने वाले लोग अपने शत्रुओं को पराजित नहीं कर सकते. इसी कारण वे युद्ध के अवसर पर इंद्र को बुलाते हैं. जो अचल पर्वतों को हटाने में समर्थ हैं तथा जो प्राणियों का पुण्य देखते हैं, वे इंद्र हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
Without Indra's help, people who wish for victory cannot defeat their enemies. That is why they call Indra on the occasion of war. Those who are able to remove immovable mountains and who see the virtue of beings are Indra. (9)
यः शश्व॑तो॒ मह्ये॑नो॒ दधा॑ना॒नम॑न्यमाना॒ञ्छर्वा॑ ज॒घान॑ । यः शर्ध॑ते॒ नानु॒ददा॑ति शृ॒ध्यां यो दस्यो॑र्ह॒न्ता स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो लोग महान अपराधी हैं, इंद्र की सत्ता को नहीं मानते हैं. इंद्र उन्हें हिंसित करते हैं. जो अपने कर्मो में इंद्र की अपेक्षा नहीं करते, इंद्र उन के प्रतिकूल रहते हैं. जो वृत्र आदि असुरों के हिंसक हैं, वे इंटर हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
Those who are great criminals do not believe in indra's power. Indra hypnotizes them. Those who do not expect Indra in their deeds, Indra is against them. Those who are violent with asuras like Vritra etc. are inter. (10)
यः श्म्ब॑रं॒ पर्व॑तेषु क्षि॒यन्तं॑ चत्वारिं॒श्यां श॒रद्य॒न्ववि॑न्दत् । ओ॑जा॒यमा॑नं॒ यो अहिं॑ ज॒घान॒ दानुं॒ शया॑नं॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन्होंने चालीस वर्ष तक पर्वत में छिप कर रहते हुए शंबर असुर का वध किया, जिन्होंने शमन करने वाले शक्तिशाली वृत्र का संहार किया, वे इंद्र हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
The one who hid in the mountain for forty years and killed Shambar Asura, who killed the powerful tree that destroyed the destroyer, is Indra. (11)
यः श॑म्ब॑रं प॒र्यत॑र॒त्कसी॑भि॒र्योऽचा॑रुका॒स्नापि॑बत्सु॒तस्य॑ । अ॒न्तर्गि॒रौ यज॑मानं ब॒हुं जनं॒ यस्मि॒न्नामू॑र्छ॒त्स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन की हिंसा करने के लिए असुरों ने सोमपान करने वाले अध्वर्युजनों को घेर लिया था, जिन्होंने अपने वज्र से शंबर का दमन किया तथा जो संस्कार किए हुए सोमरस को पी चुके हैं, वे इंद्र हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
To do the violence of whom the Asuras surrounded the sompanads, who suppressed shambar with their thunderbolt and those who have drunk the sanskar somaras are Indra. (12)
यः स॒प्तर॑श्मिर्वृष॒भस्तुवि॑ष्मान॒वासृ॑ज॒त्सर्त॑वे स॒प्त सिन्धू॑न् । यो रौ॑हि॒णमस्फु॑र॒द्वज्र॑बाहु॒र्द्यामा॒रोह॑न्तं॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो जलों की वर्षा करते हैं, जो कामनाओं को पूर्ण करते हैं, जो सात रश्मियों वाले सूर्य के रूप में स्थित हैं, जिन्होंने वज्र ग्रहण कर के आकाश पर चढ़ते हुए शंबर असुर का वध किया था तथा जिन्होंने सात नदियों को उत्पन्न किया, वे इंद्र हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
Those who rain water, who fulfill desires, who are located in the form of the sun with seven rays, who took a thunderbolt and ascended the sky and killed the Shambar asura and who created seven rivers are Indra. (13)
द्यावा॑ चिदस्मै पृथि॒वी न॑मेते॒ शुष्मा॑च्चिदस्य॒ पर्व॑ता भयन्ते । यः सो॑म॒पा नि॑चि॒तो वज्र॑बाहु॒र्यो वज्र॑हस्तः॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन के सामने आकाश और पृथ्वी झुकते हैं, जिन के भय से पर्वत भी कांपते हैं, जो सोमपान करने के कारण दृढ़ शरीर और शक्तिशाली भुजाओं वाले हैं तथा जो वज्र को धारण करते हैं, वे इंद्र है. (१४)
EN English Translation
In front of whom the heavens and the earth bow, with fear of which the mountains also tremble, who are with a strong body and powerful arms due to sompaning and those who wear the thunderbolt are Indra. (14)
यः सु॒न्वन्त॒मव॑ति॒ यः पच॑न्तं॒ यः शंस॑न्तं॒ यः श॑शमा॒नमू॒ती । यस्य॒ ब्रह्म॒ वर्ध॑नं॒ यस्य॒ सोमो॒ यस्ये॒दं राधः॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जो सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले की, चमकाने वालों की तथा स्तुतियां करने वाले की रक्षा करते हैं, सोमरस जिसके बल, ज्ञान और यश को बढ़ाता है, वे ही इंद्र है. (१५)
EN English Translation
O men! The Someras who protects the squeezer, the one who shines and the one who praises, the one whose strength, knowledge and fame, whose strength, knowledge and fame, is Indra. (15)
जा॒तो व्यख्यत्पि॒त्रोरु॒पस्थे॒ भुवो॒ न वे॑द जनि॒तुः पर॑स्य । स्त॑वि॒ष्यमा॑णो॒ नो यो अ॒स्मद्व्र॒ता दे॒वानां॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जो इंद्र जन्म लेते ही द्यावा पृथ्वी अर्थात् स्वर्ग और धरती की गोद में प्रकाशित हुए, जो अपनी मां रूपी पृथ्वी और पिता रूपी आकाश को नहीं जानते तथा हमारे द्वारा स्तुति किए जाते हुए देव संबंधी कर्म अर्थात् यज्ञ को पूर्ण करते हैं, वे ही इंद्र हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
O men! The Indra who was born in the lap of the earth i.e. heaven and earth, who does not know the earth of his mother and the sky of the father and completes the deeds of God i.e. yajna praised by us, he is Indra. (16)
यः सोम॑कामो॒ हर्य॑श्वः सू॒रिर्यस्मा॒द्रेज॑न्ते॒ भुव॑नानि॒ विश्वा॑ । यो ज॒घान॒ शम्ब॑रं॒ यश्च॒ शुष्णं॒ य ए॑कवी॒रः स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! सोमरस की कामना करते हुए जो इंद्र अपने हरि नाम के घोड़ों को चलने के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं तथा जिन्होंने शंबर और शुष्ण नाम के असुरों को मारा, एकमात्र वे ही इंद्र हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
O men! Wishing Someras, Indra who inspires his horses named Hari to walk and who killed asuras named Shambar and Shushna, is the only Indra. (17)
यः सु॑न्व॒ते पच॑ते दु॒ध्र आ चि॒द्वाजं॒ दर्द॑र्षि॒ स किला॑सि स॒त्यः । व॒यं त॑ इन्द्र वि॒श्वह॑ प्रि॒यासः॑ सु॒वीरा॑सो वि॒दथ॒मा व॑देम ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जो इंद्र सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले तथा चरु पकाने वाले को यथेष्ट अन्न देते हैं तथा जो निश्चित रूप से सत्य हैं, हम सभी ऐसे इंद्र के प्रिय होते हुए उत्तम वीरों के स्वामी बनें. (१८)
EN English Translation
O human beings! Indra, who gives enough food to the one who squeezes and cooks charu, and which is certainly true, all of us should become the masters of such indra's beloved and masters of the best heroes. (18)
