य॒न्तासि॒ यच्छ॑से॒ हस्ता॒वप॒ रक्षां॑सि सेधसि । प्र॒जां धनं॑ च गृह्णा॒नः प॑रिह॒स्तो अ॑भूद॒यम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम गर्भ को नष्ट करने वाले राक्षस आदि को वश में करने में समर्थ हो, इसीलिए अपने दोनों हाथ फैलाओ तथा उन के द्वारा गर्भ का नाश करने वाले राक्षसों का विनाश करो. पुत्र आदि रूप प्रजा और उन के भोग के लिए धन प्रदान करते हुए अग्नि अपने हाथ फैला कर रक्षा करें. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are able to control the demons etc. who destroy the womb, so spread both your hands and destroy the demons who destroy the womb through them. Protect the agni by spreading your hands while providing money for the son etc. and the people and their enjoyment. (1)
आ॒गच्छ॑त॒ आग॑तस्य॒ नाम॑ गृह्णाम्याय॒तः । इन्द्र॑स्य वृत्र॒घ्नो व॑न्वे वास॒वस्य॑ श॒तक्र॑तोः ॥ (१)

मैं अपने समीप आए हुए इंद्र को प्रसन्न करने वाले नाम वृत्र हंता का उच्चारण करता हूं. विवाह की इच्छा वाला मैं वृत्र का वध करने वाले, वसुओं द्वारा उपासना किए गए और शक्ति की प्रसिद्धि करने वाले सौ कमों के स्वामी इंद्र की उपासना अभिमत फल को पाने के लिए करता हूं. (१)
EN English Translation
I utter Vritra Hanta, the name that pleases Indra, who has come close to me. With the desire for marriage, I worship Indra, the swami of a hundred, who kills Vritra, worshiped by the Vasus and who makes fame of Shakti, to get the desired fruit. (1)
अप॑चितः॒ प्र प॑तत सुप॒र्णो व॑स॒तेरि॑व । सूर्यः॑ कृ॒णोतु॑ भेष॒जं च॒न्द्रमा॒ वोऽपो॑च्छतु ॥ (१)

हे गंडमालाओ! जिस प्रकार बाज पक्षी अपने निवास स्थान से उड़ता है, उसी प्रकार तुम मेरे शरीर से निकल जाओ. सूर्य मेरी चिकित्सा करें और चंद्रमा मेरे शरीर से तुम्हें दूर करें. (१)
EN English Translation
O gandmalao! Just as the eagle bird flies from its habitat, so you get out of my body. May the sun heal me and the moon remove you from my body. (1)
दो॒षो गा॑य बृ॒हद्गा॑य द्यु॒मद्धे॑ह्याथ॑र्वण । स्तु॒हि दे॒वं स॑वि॒तार॑म् ॥ (१)

हे अथर्वा ऋषि के पुत्र दध्यङ्ऋषि! स्तुति के योग्य एवं विशाल साम मंत्रों का रातदिन अर्थात् हर समय गुणगान करो तथा उन के द्वारा हमें धन युक्त बनाओ. हे स्तुति करने वाले दध्यङ् ऋषि! तुम अपने नाम मंत्रों द्वारा दानादि गुणों से संपन्न सविता देव की स्तुति करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Son of Atharva Rishi, Dadhyan rishi! Praise the worthy and huge mantras of praise, that is, all the time, and make us rich through them. O sage of praise! Praise Savita Dev, endowed with danadi qualities, through your name mantras. (1)
यस्या॑स्त आ॒सनि॑ घो॒रे जु॒होम्ये॒षां ब॒द्धाना॑मव॒सर्ज॑नाय॒ कम् । भूमि॒रिति॑ त्वाभि॒प्रम॑न्वते॒ जना॒ निरृ॑ति॒रिति॑ त्वा॒हं परि॑ वेद स॒र्वतः॑ ॥ (१)

हे रोगाभिमानिनी पाप की देवी! घाव के रोगों से उत्पन्न बंधनों से छूटने के लिए मैं तुम्हारे भयानक मुख में हवि डालता हूं तथा घाव को धोने के लिए यह हवि ओषधि युक्त जल प्रयोग करता हूं. तुम्हें ज्ञानहीन जन पृथ्वी समझते हैं. तुम्हारा स्वरूप जानता हुआ मैं सभी प्रकार निर्त्रति अर्थात् सभी रोगों का कारण जानता हूं. EN English Translation
O goddess of sin! I put havi in your terrible mouth to get rid of the shackles caused by wound diseases and use this medicine-rich water to wash the wound. You are considered to be the earth of the knowledgeless. Knowing your nature, I know all kinds of nirtrati i.e. the cause of all diseases. (1)
इन्द्रा॑य॒ सोम॑मृत्विजः सु॒नोता च॑ धावत । स्तो॒तुर्यो वचः॑ शृ॒णव॒द्धवं॑ च मे ॥ (१)

हे अध्वर्यु आदि ऋत्विजो! इंद्र के लिए सोम को निचोड़ो और निचोड़े गए सोम का दशापवित्र के द्वारा सभी प्रकार शोधन करो. वे इंद्र मुझ स्तोता के स्तुति लक्षण आह्वान को सुनें तथा आदरपूर्वक जानें. (१)

O Adhwaryu Adi Ritvijo! Squeeze the soma for Indra and refine the squeezed soma in all ways through the dashapavitra. They should listen to indra mujh stota's praise ishta call and know respectfully. (1)
व॑र॒णो वा॑रयाता अ॒यं दे॒वो वन॒स्पतिः॑ । यक्ष्मो॒ यो अ॒स्मिन्नावि॑ष्ट॒स्तमु॑ दे॒वा अ॑वीवरन् ॥ (१)

यह दिव्य गुण युक्त वरण नाम की वनस्पति से बनी हुई मणि राजयक्ष्मा रोग का निवारण करे. इस पुरुष में जिस यक्ष्मा रोग का निवास है, उस रोग का निवारण इंद्र आदि देव करें. (१)
EN English Translation
This gem made from the vegetation named Varan with divine qualities should prevent rajayaksma disease. Indra adi dev should remove the disease of tuberculosis that resides in this man. (1)
पा॒तं न॑ इन्द्रापूष॒णादि॑तिः पान्तु म॒रुतः॑ । अपां॑ नपात्सिन्धवः स॒प्त पा॑तन॒ पातु॑ नो॒ विष्णु॑रु॒त द्यौः ॥ (१)

हे इंद्र और पूषादेव! हमारी रक्षा करो. देवमाता अदिति हमारी रक्षा करें. उनचास मरुद्गण हमारी रक्षा करें. अपानपात अर्थात् जल को ईधन बनाने वाले अग्नि देव एवं सात सागर हमारी रक्षा करें. विष्णु एवं आकाश हमारी रक्षा करें. आहवनीय अग्नि और अग्नि की सुखकर तथा राक्षसों द्वारा दिए हुए दुःख से रक्षक किरणें हमारी रक्षा करें. O Indra and Pushadeva! Protect us. Devmata Aditi protect us. Let the forty-nine marudas protect us. May the agni god and the seven oceans, who make water fuel, protect us. May Vishnu and sky protect us. May the happy rays of the callous agni and agni and the protectors protect us from the suffering given by the demons. (1)
वृषेन्द्र॑स्य॒ वृषा॑ दि॒वो वृषा॑ पृथि॒व्या अ॒यम् । वृषा॒ विश्व॑स्य भू॒तस्य॒ त्वमे॑कवृ॒षो भ॑व ॥ (१)

यह पुरुष इंद्र की कृपा से सेचन समर्थ हो. यह द्युलोक एवं पृथ्वीलोक में श्रेष्ठ बने. हे श्रेष्ठता के इच्छुक पुरुष! तू संसार के सभी प्राणियों में श्रेष्ठ बन. (१)

May this man be able to sechan by the grace of Indra. He became the best in Dyulok and Earth. O men desirous of superiority! May you be the best of all beings in the world. (1)
त्वष्टा॑ मे॒ दैव्यं॒ वचः॑ प॒र्जन्यो॒ ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पतिः॑ । पु॒त्रैर्भ्रातृ॑भि॒रदि॑ति॒र्नु पा॑तु नो दु॒ष्टरं॒ त्राय॑माणं॒ सहः॑ ॥ (१)

त्वष्टा एवं ब्रह्मणस्पति अर्थात् इस मंत्र के अधिपतिदेव मेरे स्तुति लक्षण वचनों को सुनें. अदिति अपने पुत्रों और भ्राताओं के साथ हमारे रक्षक एवं शत्रुओं द्वारा अतिक्रमण रहित बल की शीघ्र रक्षा करें. (१)
EN English Translation
Listen to the words of Tvashta and Brahmanaspati i.e. the swami of this mantra. Aditi along with her sons and brothers should quickly protect the force without encroachment by our protectors and enemies. (1)
आ त्वा॑हार्षम॒न्तर॑भूर्ध्रु॒वस्ति॒ष्ठावि॑चाचलत् । विश॑स्त्वा॒ सर्वा॑ वाञ्छन्तु॒ मा त्वद्रा॒ष्ट्रमधि॑ भ्रशत् ॥ (१)

हे राजन्! हम तुम्हें अपने राष्ट्र में लाए हैं! तुम हमारे मध्य हमारे स्वामी बनो. तुम चंचलता रहित हो कर राज्य के अधिकार पर दृढ़ बनो. सभी प्रजाएं तुम्हें चाहें. यह राष्ट्र तुम्हारे अधिकार से भ्रष्ट न हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O king! We have brought you into our nation! You be our master among us. Be firm on the authority of the state without fickleness. All people want you. This nation should not be corrupted by your right. (1)
उदे॑नमुत्त॒रं न॒याग्ने॑ घृ॒तेना॑हुत । समे॑नं॒ वर्च॑सा सृज प्र॒जया॑ च ब॒हुं कृ॑धि ॥ (१)

हे घृत के द्वारा बुलाए गए अग्नि देव! तुम इस यजमान को उत्तम पद प्राप्त कराओ. उत्तम पद प्राप्त कराने के पश्चात तुम इस यजमान को शारीरिक तेज से युक्त करो तथा पुत्र, पौत्र आदि से समृद्ध बनाओ. (१)

O God of agni called by Ghrit! You make this host get the best position. After attaining the best position, you should equip this host with physical radiance and enrich it with son, grandson etc. (1)
यो॒स्मान्ब्र॑ह्मणस्प॒तेऽदे॑वो अभि॒मन्य॑ते । सर्वं॒ तं र॑न्धयासि मे॒ यज॑मानाय सुन्व॒ते ॥ (१)

हे ब्रह्मणस्पति देव! जो देव विरोधी शत्रु हमें वध करने योग्य मानता है, उस को सोम रस निचोड़ने वाले मुझ यजमान के वश में करो. (१)

O Brahmanaspati Dev! The anti-God enemy who considers us worthy of slaughter, subdue him to me, who squeezes soma rasa. (1)
इ॒दं यत्प्रे॒ण्यः शिरो॑ द॒त्तं सोमे॑न॒ वृष्ण्य॑म् । ततः॒ परि॒ प्रजा॑तेन॒ हार्दिं॑ ते शोचयामसि ॥ (१)

मुझ प्रेम प्राप्त करने वाले का जो यह शक्ति प्रदान करने वाला शीश है, वह मुझे सोम ने दिया है. उन के द्वारा उत्पन्न विशेष स्नेह से मैं तुम्हारे मन को संताप युक्त करता हूं. (१)

Som has given me this power of the one who receives my love. I annoy your mind with the special affection generated by them. (1)
येन॑ सो॒मादि॑तिः प॒था मि॒त्रा वा॒ यन्त्य॒द्रुहः॑ । तेना॒ नोऽव॒सा ग॑हि ॥ (१)

हे सोम! जिस मार्ग से, अदिति मित्र एवं उस के बारह पुत्र अनुग्रह करते हुए सरंचना करते हैं, उसी मार्ग से हमारा कल्याण करते हुए आओ. (१)

O Mon! Come to the same path as Aditi friends and her twelve sons do charity with grace, doing our welfare. (1)
यां ते॑ रु॒द्र इषु॒मास्य॒दङ्गे॑भ्यो॒ हृद॑याय च । इ॒दं ताम॒द्य त्वद्व॒यं विषू॑चीं॒ वि वृ॑हामसि ॥ (१)

हे रोगी! तेरे हाथ, पैर और हृदय आदि अंगों को बेधने के लिए रुद्र देव ने जो बाण अपने धनुष पर चढ़ा कर फेंका है, आज मैं उस का प्रतिकार करने के लिए उस बाण को तुझ से विमुख करने के लिए शरीर से दूर फेंकता हूं. (१)

O patient! Today, to resist the arrow that Rudra Dev has thrown on his bow to pierce your hands, feet and heart, today I throw that arrow away from the body to turn it away from you. (1)
यथा॑ वृ॒क्षं लिबु॑जा सम॒न्तं प॑रिषस्व॒जे । ए॒वा परि॑ ष्वजस्व॒ मां यथा॒ मां का॒मिन्यसो॒ यथा॒ मन्नाप॑गा॒ असः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पत्नी! जिस प्रकार लता चारों ओर से वृक्ष को लपेटती है, उसी प्रकार तू मेरा आलिंगन कर. जिस प्रकार तू मेरी कामना करती हुई मेरे समीप से कहीं न जाए, उसी प्रकार मैं तुझे अपने वश में करता हूं. (१)

O wife! Just as the creeper wraps the tree from all sides, so embrace me. Just as you do not go anywhere near me wishing for me, so I subdue you. (1)
इ॒मं यव॑मष्टायो॒गैः ष॑ड्यो॒गेभि॑रचर्कृषुः । तेना॑ ते त॒न्वो॒ रपो॑ऽपा॒चीन॒मप॑ व्यये ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ओषधि के रूप में प्रयोग में लाए जाते हुए जौ को आठ बैलों वाले तथा छः बैलों वाले हल से जोत कर उत्पन्न किया गया है. हे रोगी! उस जौ से मैं तेरे शरीर के रोग के कारण पाप को दूर करता हूं. (१)

Used as a medicine, barley has been ploughed with a plough with eight bulls and six bulls. O patient! With that barley, I remove sin due to the disease of your body. (1)
वाञ्छ॑ मे त॒न्वं पादौ॒ वाञ्छा॒क्ष्यौ॒ वाञ्छ॑ स॒क्थ्यौ॑ । अ॒क्ष्यौ॑ वृष॒ण्यन्त्याः॒ केशा॒ मां ते॒ कामे॑न शुष्यन्तु ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कामिनी! तू मेरे शरीर, पैरों, नेत्रों और जंघाओं की कामना कर. तू ऐसे पुरुष की कामना करती है, जो तुझे संतुष्ट कर सके. तेरी सुंदर आंखें और केश मेरे मन को व्याकुल करते हैं. (१)

O Kamini! Wish me my body, feet, eyes and thighs. You wish for a man who can satisfy you. Your beautiful eyes and hair disturb my mind. (1)
वात॑रंहा भव वाजिन्यु॒ज्यमा॑न॒ इन्द्र॑स्य याहि प्रस॒वे मनो॑जवाः । यु॒ञ्जन्तु॑ त्वा म॒रुतो॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दस॒ आ ते॒ त्वष्टा प॒त्सु ज॒वं द॑धातु ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे रथ के जुए में जुते हुए अश्व! तू वायु के समान तेज चलने वाला बन. इंद्र की प्रेरणा होने पर तू मन के समान वेग से गंतव्य पर पहुंच. सारे संसार को जानने वाले उनचास मरुद्गण तुझ से मिल जाएं एवं त्वष्टा देव तेरे चरणों को वेग प्रदान करें. (१)
EN English Translation
O horse plowed in the yoke of the chariot! You become as fast as air. When you are inspired by Indra, you reach the destination with the same speed as the mind. May forty-nine maruds who know the whole world meet you and may Tvashta Dev give speed to your feet. (1)
पृ॑थि॒व्यै श्रोत्रा॑य॒ वन॒स्पति॑भ्यो॒ऽग्नयेऽधि॑पतये॒ स्वाहा॑ ॥ (१)

पृथ्वी के लिए, शब्द सुनने के साधन कान के लिए, भूमि पर स्थित वृक्षों के अधिष्ठाता देवों के लिए तथा धरती के स्वामी अग्नि के लिए हव्य शोभन आहुति वाला हो. (१)

For the earth, for the ear, the instrument of hearing the sound, for the presiding deities of the trees on the ground and for Agni, the swami of the earth, the yajna agni should be offered. (1)
य॒मो मृ॒त्युर॑घमा॒रो नि॑रृ॒थो ब॒भ्रुः श॒र्वोऽस्ता॒ नील॑शिखण्डः । दे॑वज॒नाः सेन॑योत्तस्थि॒वांस॒स्ते अ॒स्माकं॒ परि॑ वृञ्जन्तु वी॒रान् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पापियों की हिंसा के लिए यम, मृत्यु, अघमार, निर्त्रति, बश्चु, शर्व एवं नीलशिखंड आदि देवगण, अपने परिवार जनों के साथ अपनेअपने स्थान से चल दिए हैं. वे हमारे पुत्र, पौत्र आदि को छोड़ दें. (१)
EN English Translation
For the violence of sinners, devas like Yama, Death, Aghamar, Nirtriti, Bashchu, Sharva and Neelshikhand etc. have left their place with their family members. They should leave our sons, grandsons etc. (1)
समीम॑श्व॒त्थ आरू॑ढ॒स्तत्र॑ पुं॒सुव॑नं कृ॒तम् । तद्वै पु॒त्रस्य॒ वेद॑नं॒ तत्स्त्री॒ष्वा भ॑रामसि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शमी वृक्ष स्त्री है और अश्वत्थ अर्थात् पीपल का वृक्ष पुरुष है. अग्निरूप पुत्र उत्पन्न करने के लिए वह शमी वृक्ष पर आरूढ़ है. उसी पीपल वृक्ष से अरणियां बनाई जाती हैं, जो अग्नि उत्पादन के काम आती हैं. इस प्रकार के अश्वत्थ पर पुंसवन किया गया है. वह पुंसवन अर्थात् पुत्र प्राप्ति कर्म हम स्त्रियों में करते हैं. Shami tree is female and Ashwattha i.e. Peepal tree is male. He is mounted on the Shami tree to produce a son in the form of agni. Forests are made from the same peepal tree, which is used for agni production. This type of Ashwath has been punsavan. That punsavan means that we do the work of getting a son in women. (1)
सं वो॒ मनां॑सि॒ सं व्र॒ता समाकू॑तीर्नमामसि । अ॒मी ये विव्र॑ता॒ स्थन॒ तान्वः॒ सं न॑मयामसि ॥ (१)

हे उदास मन वाले लोगो! मैं तुम्हारे परस्पर विरुद्ध हृदयों को एक विषय पर सहमत करता हूं. मैं तुम्हारे कर्मो एवं संकल्पों को भी एक रूप बनाता हूं. पहले तुम सब परस्पर विरुद्ध कर्म करने वाले थे. मैं तुम सब को समान मन वाला बनाता हूं. (१)

O sad people! I let your conflicting hearts agree on one subject. I also make your deeds and resolutions a form. Earlier, you were all going to act against each other. I make you all equal-minded. (1)
परि॒ द्यामि॑व॒ सूर्योऽही॑नां॒ जनि॑मागमम् । रात्री॒ जग॑दिवा॒न्यद्धं॒सात्तेना॑ ते वारये वि॒षम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार सूर्य अंतरिक्ष में व्याप्त होता है, उसी प्रकार मैं सर्पो के जन्म को जानता हूं. जिस प्रकार रात्रि अपने अंधकार से सारे संसार को व्याप्त कर लेती है, उसी प्रकार शरीर में व्याप्त विष को मैं ओषधि से दूर करता हूं. (१)

Just as the sun pervades space, I know the birth of serpents. Just as the night pervades the whole world with its darkness, in the same way, I remove the poison in the body with medicine. (1)
अ॑श्व॒त्थो दे॑व॒सद॑नस्तृ॒तीय॑स्यामि॒तो दि॒वि । तत्रा॒मृत॑स्य॒ चक्ष॑णं दे॒वाः कुष्ठ॑मवन्वत ॥ (१)

तीसरे आकाश में देवों का स्थान पीपल है. वहां देवों ने अमृत के गुण वाले वनस्पति कूठ को जाना. (१)

In the third sky, the place of gods is Peepal. There the gods came to know the vegetable kutha with the quality of nectar. (1)
नमो॑ देवव॒धेभ्यो॒ नमो॑ राजव॒धेभ्यः॑ । अथो॒ ये विश्या॑नां व॒धास्तेभ्यो॑ मृत्यो॒ नमो॑ऽस्तु ते ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र आदि के हनन साधन वज्र आदि को नमस्कार है, जिस से वे हमारा त्याग कर दें राजा से संबंधित आयुधों को नमस्कार है. हे मृत्यु! वैश्य जातियों के वध के जो साधन हैं, उन से बचाने के लिए हम तुझे नमस्कार करते हैं. (१)

Salutations to Vajra etc., the instruments of destruction of Indra, so that they may abandon us. Salutations to the weapons belonging to the king. Oh death! We salute you for saving us from the weapons meant to killing of the Vaishya\'s. (1)
या ओष॑धयः॒ सोम॑राज्ञीर्ब॒ह्वीः श॒तवि॑चक्षणाः । बृह॒स्पति॑प्रसूता॒स्ता नो॑ मुञ्च॒न्त्वंह॑सः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन वृक्षों और वनस्पतियों के राजा सोम हैं तथा जो रस, वीर्य आदि के विपाक के कारण सैकड़ों प्रकार की दिखाई देती हैं, बृहस्पति देव के द्वारा उन रोगों की ओषधि के रूप में नियत वे वनस्पतियां हमें पाप से बचाएं. (१)

May the trees and flora of which are soma the king and which appear hundreds of types due to the vipak of juice, semen etc., those vegetation destined by Jupiter as the medicine of those diseases should save us from sin. (1)
अ॑स्थिस्रं॒सं प॑रुस्रं॒समास्थि॑तं हृदयाम॒यम् । ब॒लासं॒ सर्वं॑ नाशयाङ्गे॒ष्ठा यश्च॒ पर्व॑सु ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मंत्र की शक्ति से हड्डियों को कंपित करने वाले, शरीर के जोड़ों को ढीला करने वाले तथा सारे शरीर में व्याप्त श्लेष्मा द्वारा किए हुए हृदय रोग की शक्ति का विनाश करे. वह रोग खांसी और सांस से संबंधित है. (१)

With the power of the mantra, the power of heart disease caused by the staggering bones, loosening the joints of the body and the mucous all over the body should be destroyed. That disease is related to cough and breath. (1)
अ॑भि॒भूर्य॒ज्ञो अ॑भि॒भूर॒ग्निर॑भि॒भूः सोमो॑ अभि॒भूरिन्द्रः॑ । अ॒भ्यहं वि॑श्वाः॒ पृत॑ना॒ यथासा॑न्ये॒वा वि॑धेमा॒ग्निहो॑त्रा इ॒दं ह॒विः ॥ (१)

विजय की कामना करने वाले हम लोगों के द्वारा किया हुआ यज्ञ शत्रुओं का पराभव करने वाला हो. यज्ञों को पूर्ण करने वाले अग्नि एवं यज्ञ के साधन सोम शत्रुओं को पराजित करें. इंद्र एवं सभी शत्रु सेनाओं को पराजित करने के इच्छुक हम शत्रु की सभी सेनाओं को जिस कार पराजित करें, उसी के निमित्त संग्राम में विजय के इच्छुक हम हवि का हवन करते हैं. EN English Translation
The yajna performed by us who wish for victory should be the defeat of the enemies. The means of agni and yajna, who complete the yajnas, defeat the enemies. We perform havan of Havi, who want to win in the battle for the sake of defeating Indra and all the enemy armies, which we want to defeat all the enemy armies. (1)
