समीम॑श्व॒त्थ आरू॑ढ॒स्तत्र॑ पुं॒सुव॑नं कृ॒तम् । तद्वै पु॒त्रस्य॒ वेद॑नं॒ तत्स्त्री॒ष्वा भ॑रामसि ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शमी वृक्ष स्त्री है और अश्वत्थ अर्थात् पीपल का वृक्ष पुरुष है. अग्निरूप पुत्र उत्पन्न करने के लिए वह शमी वृक्ष पर आरूढ़ है. उसी पीपल वृक्ष से अरणियां बनाई जाती हैं, जो अग्नि उत्पादन के काम आती हैं. इस प्रकार के अश्वत्थ पर पुंसवन किया गया है. वह पुंसवन अर्थात् पुत्र प्राप्ति कर्म हम स्त्रियों में करते हैं. EN English Translation
Shami tree is female and Ashwattha i.e. Peepal tree is male. He is mounted on the Shami tree to produce a son in the form of agni. Forests are made from the same peepal tree, which is used for agni production. This type of Ashwath has been punsavan. That punsavan means that we do the work of getting a son in women. (1)
पुं॒सि वै रेतो॑ भवति॒ तत्स्त्रि॒यामनु॑ षिच्यते । तद्वै पु॒त्रस्य॒ वेद॑नं॒ तत्प्र॒जाप॑तिरब्रवीत् ॥ (२)

पुरुषमय बीजरूप वीर्य होता है. वह गर्भाधान कर्म के द्वारा नारी के गर्भाशय में डाला जाता है. वही पुत्र प्राप्ति का साधन बनता है. यह पुंसवन कर्म प्रजापति ने बताया है. (२)
EN English Translation
Male seed form is semen. She is inserted into the woman's uterus by conception. He becomes the means of getting a son. This has been told by Punsavan Karma Prajapati. (2)
प्र॒जाप॑ति॒रनु॑मतिः सिनीवा॒ल्य॑चीक्लृपत् । स्त्रैषू॑यम॒न्यत्र॒ दध॒त्पुमां॑समु दधदि॒ह ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्रजापति ने, अमावस्या की देवी सिनीवाली ने और पूर्णमासी के देवता ने गर्भाशय में स्थित वीर्य के अंश से हाथ, पैर आदि की रचना की है. उन्होंने स्त्री के प्रसव संबंधी निमित्त अर्थात् गर्भ को हम से पृथक् अर्थात् नारी में पुत्र रूपी संतान को एक वर्ष के पश्चात जन्म लेने योग्य बनाया. (३)
EN English Translation
Prajapati, Goddess Siniwali of Amavasya and God of Purnamasi have created hands, feet etc. from the semen part located in the uterus. He made the child of a woman's delivery, that is, the womb separate from us, that is, the child of a son in the woman, eligible to be born after one year. (3)
