धी॒ती वा॒ ये अन॑यन्वा॒चो अग्रं॒ मन॑सा वा॒ येऽव॑दन्नृ॒तानि॑ । तृ॒तीये॑न॒ ब्रह्म॑णा वावृधा॒नास्तु॒रीये॑णामन्वत॒ नाम॑ धे॒नोः ॥ (१)

प्रजापति अथवा इंद्र और अग्ने की स्तुति करने वालों ने वाणी व्यवहार के समस्त अर्थ का ध्यान किया. जिन कहने के इच्छुकों ने देवता वाचक शब्दों के रूप में सत्य बोला, उन्होंने वृतीय ब्रह्म अर्थात् मध्यमा नामक भाषा शक्ति के द्वारा वृद्धि प्राप्त करते हुए चौथी अर्थात् वैखरी वाणी से प्रसन्न होने वाले प्रजापति का नाम उच्चारण किया. EN English Translation
Those who praised Prajapati or Indra and Agni meditated on the whole meaning of speech behavior. Those who wanted to say the truth in the form of deity-bearing words, they attained growth through the language power called Vritya Brahma i.e. Madhyama and pronounced the name of Prajapati, who was pleased with the fourth i.e. Vaikhari speech. (1)
स वे॑द पु॒त्रः पि॒तरं॒ स मा॒तरं॒ स सू॒नुर्भु॑व॒त्स भु॑व॒त्पुन॑र्मघः । स द्यामौ॑र्णोद॒न्तरि॑क्षं॒ स्वः स इ॒दं विश्व॑मभव॒त्स आभ॑वत् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
भलीभांति जानने वाले पुत्रों को अनर्थ से बचाने वाला प्रजापति द्युलोक तथा पृथ्वी को जानता है. वह प्रजापति संसार के लोगों को अपनेअपने कर्म करने की प्रेरणा देता है. वह आकाश तथा पृथ्वी को अपनी महिमा से व्याप्त करता है. वह प्रजापति ही यह दिखाई देता हुआ विश्व बन गया है. (२)
EN English Translation
Prajapati, who saved well-known sons from disaster, knows Dyulok and the earth. That Prajapati inspires the people of the world to do their own deeds. He pervades the heavens and the earth with His glory. That Prajapati has become this visible world. (2)
