उदी॑रता॒मव॑र॒ उत्परा॑स॒ उन्म॑ध्य॒माः पि॒तरः॑ सो॒म्यासः॑ । असुं॒ य ई॒युर॑वृ॒का ऋ॑त॒ज्ञास्ते नो॑ऽवन्तु पि॒तरो॒ हवे॑षु ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उत्तम, मध्यम और अधम--तीनों श्रेणियों के पितर कृपा करते हुए हमारा हवि ग्रहण करें. हमारी हिंसा न करने वाले और हमारे यज्ञों को जानने वाले जो पितर हमारी प्राणरक्षा करने आए हैं, वे यज्ञों में हमारी रक्षा करें. (१)
EN English Translation
Best, Medium and Poor - Please accept our greetings in all the three categories. Those who do not do our violence and know our sacrifices, let the fathers who have come to protect our lives protect us in the yagnas. (1)
इ॒दं पि॒तृभ्यो॒ नमो॑ अस्त्व॒द्य ये पूर्वा॑सो॒ य उप॑रास ई॒युः । ये पार्थि॑वे॒ रज॒स्या निष॑त्ता॒ ये वा॑ नू॒नं सु॑वृ॒जना॑सु वि॒क्षु ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो बाबा आदि पितर पहले मृत हुए हैं, जो बड़े भाई आदि पितर बाद में मृत हुए हैं, जो पृथिवी पर जन्म लेकर आ गए हैं अथवा जो शोभन धन वाली प्रजाओं के बीच हैं, उनके लिए यह नमस्कार है. (२)
EN English Translation
This is the salutation for those pitars (ancestors) have departed earlier, elder brothers and pitars those who have departed later, those who have come to earth by re-incarnation and are among the people of divine wealth. (2)
आहं पि॒तॄन्सु॑वि॒दत्रा॑ँ अवित्सि॒ नपा॑तं च वि॒क्रम॑णं च॒ विष्णोः॑ । ब॒र्हि॒षदो॒ ये स्व॒धया॑ सु॒तस्य॒ भज॑न्त पि॒त्वस्त इ॒हाग॑मिष्ठाः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैंने ऐसे पितरों को पाया है जो मेरी भक्ति को भली-भांति जानते हैं. मैंने व्यापक यज्ञ की नित्यता एवं पूरा करने का उपाय भी पाया है. जो पितर कुशों पर बैठकर सोमरस पीते हुए प्रसन्न होते हैं, वे इस कर्म में आवें. (३)
EN English Translation
I have found pitars (ancestors) who know my devotion very well. I have also found the nityas of the comprehensive yajna and the solution to complete it. Those pitars who are happy to sit on the kushas and drink somras, they should come in this karma. (3)
बर्हि॑षदः पितर ऊ॒त्य१॒॑र्वागि॒मा वो॑ ह॒व्या च॑कृमा जु॒षध्व॑म् । त आ ग॒ताव॑सा॒ शंत॑मे॒नाथा॑ नः॒ शं योर॑र॒पो द॑धात ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कुशों पर बैठने वाले पितरो! इस समय तुम हमारी रक्षा करो. हमने तुम्हारे लिए ये हव्य तैयार किए हैं, तुम इनका उपभोग करो. तुम आओ और रक्षा करते हुए हमारा कल्याण करो. तुम हमें सुखी करो, हमारा दु:ख मिटाओ और हमें पापरहित बनाओ. (४)
EN English Translation
O pitro who sit on the cushions! At this time you protect us. We have prepared these things for you, you must consume them. You come and protect us while doing us well. May you make us happy, wipe out our sorrows and make us sinless. (4)
उप॑हूताः पि॒तरः॑ सो॒म्यासो॑ बर्हि॒ष्ये॑षु नि॒धिषु॑ प्रि॒येषु॑ । त आ ग॑मन्तु॒ त इ॒ह श्रु॑व॒न्त्वधि॑ ब्रुवन्तु॒ ते॑ऽवन्त्व॒स्मान् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कुशों के ऊपर प्रिय द्रव्य रखे जाने के बाद सोमरस के प्रेमी पितर बुलाए गए हैं. वे वहां आवें, हमारी स्तुतियां सुनें, स्तुतियां सुनकर अपनी प्रसन्नता प्रकट करें एवं हमारी रक्षा करें. (५)
EN English Translation
Someras' lover pitras have been called after the beloved substance is placed on top of the Kushas. Let them come there, listen to our praises, express their happiness by hearing the praises and protect us. (5)
आच्या॒ जानु॑ दक्षिण॒तो नि॒षद्ये॒मं य॒ज्ञम॒भि गृ॑णीत॒ विश्वे॑ । मा हिं॑सिष्ट पितरः॒ केन॑ चिन्नो॒ यद्व॒ आगः॑ पुरु॒षता॒ करा॑म ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पितरो! तुम सब मेरी दाहिनी ओर धरती पर घुटने टेककर बैठो और तुम सब इस यज्ञ की प्रशंसा करो. हम पुरुष होने के कारण भूल से पाप कर बैठते हैं. तुम किसी पाप के कारण हमारी हिंसा मत करो. (६)
EN English Translation
O Pitro! All of you kneel on the earth at my right hand, and praise this yajna. We sin by mistake because of being men. Don't do us violence because of any sin. (6)
आसी॑नासो अरु॒णीना॑मु॒पस्थे॑ र॒यिं ध॑त्त दा॒शुषे॒ मर्त्या॑य । पु॒त्रेभ्यः॑ पितर॒स्तस्य॒ वस्वः॒ प्र य॑च्छत॒ त इ॒होर्जं॑ दधात ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे लाल ज्वालाओं के समीप बैठने वाले पितरो! हव्य देने वाले मनुष्य को धन दो, तुम यजमान के पुत्रों को धन दो तथा हमारे इस यज्ञ में धन धारण करो. (७)
EN English Translation
O pitro who sits near the red flames! Give money to the man who gives the greeting, give money to the sons of the host, and put money in this yagna of ours. (7)
ये नः॒ पूर्वे॑ पि॒तरः॑ सो॒म्यासो॑ऽनूहि॒रे सो॑मपी॒थं वसि॑ष्ठाः । तेभि॑र्य॒मः सं॑ररा॒णो ह॒वींष्यु॒शन्नु॒शद्भिः॑ प्रतिका॒मम॑त्तु ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे सोमरस तैयार करने वाले, उत्तम वस्त्रधारक एवं नियमपूर्वक देवादि को सोमपान कराने वाले प्राचीन पितर यम के साथ एवं यम उनके साथ हवि आदि का उपभोग करना चाहते हैं. यम उन पितरों के साथ अपनी इच्छाओं के अनुसार हव्य भक्षण करें. (८)
EN English Translation
Our somras preparers, the best-dressed and regularly make devadi a sompan, the ancient father wants to consume yama with yama and yama with them. Yama eats with those fathers according to your wishes. (8)
ये ता॑तृ॒षुर्दे॑व॒त्रा जेह॑माना होत्रा॒विदः॒ स्तोम॑तष्टासो अ॒र्कैः । आग्ने॑ याहि सुवि॒दत्रे॑भिर॒र्वाङ्स॒त्यैः क॒व्यैः पि॒तृभि॑र्घर्म॒सद्भिः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! यज्ञ करने के ज्ञाता, स्तोत्रों और मंत्रों के बनाने वाले एवं क्रम से देवत्व पाने वाले जो पितर प्यासे हैं, उन्हें हमारे सामने लेकर आओ. वे पितर विशेष परिचित, विवादरहित, यज्ञ में बैठने वाले एवं हव्य ग्रहण करने वाले हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O agni! Bring before us the knower of performing yajna, the makers of hymns and mantras and those who have attained divinity in order and those who are thirsty for the father. They are the fathers special acquaintances, free of contention, those who sit in the yagna and receive the havan. (9)
ये स॒त्यासो॑ हवि॒रदो॑ हवि॒ष्पा इन्द्रे॑ण दे॒वैः स॒रथं॒ दधा॑नाः । आग्ने॑ याहि स॒हस्रं॑ देवव॒न्दैः परैः॒ पूर्वैः॑ पि॒तृभि॑र्घर्म॒सद्भिः॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जो पितर सच्चे, हव्य भक्षण करने वाले, सोम पीने वाले, इंद्रादि देवों के साथ एक रथ पर बैठने वाले, देवाराधन कर्ता, पहले वाले, उनके बाद वाले एवं यज्ञ में बैठने वाले हैं. उन पितरों के साथ आओ. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! Those who are the fathers are the true ones, the devotees of the havya, the ones who drink the soma, those who sit on a chariot with the Indradi devas, the doers of god, the first, the ones who are after them and those who sit in the yagna. Come with those fathers. (10)
अग्नि॑ष्वात्ताः पितर॒ एह ग॑च्छत॒ सदः॑सदः सदत सुप्रणीतयः । अ॒त्ता ह॒वींषि॒ प्रय॑तानि ब॒र्हिष्यथा॑ र॒यिं सर्व॑वीरं दधातन ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्निष्वात्त नामक पितरो! यहां आओ और स्वागत स्वीकार करके अपने-अपने आसनों पर बैठो एवं कुशों पर फैले हुए हव्यों को खाओ. इसके बाद हमें पुत्र-पौत्रों से युक्त धन दो. (११)
EN English Translation
O pitro, called Agnishwat! Come here and accept the welcome, sit on your own asanas and eat the havyas spread over the kushas. After that, give us money with sons and grandsons. (11)
त्वम॑ग्न ईळि॒तो जा॑तवे॒दोऽवा॑ड्ढ॒व्यानि॑ सुर॒भीणि॑ कृ॒त्वी । प्रादाः॑ पि॒तृभ्यः॑ स्व॒धया॒ ते अ॑क्षन्न॒द्धि त्वं दे॑व॒ प्रय॑ता ह॒वींषि॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सबको जानने वाले अग्नि! हमने तुम्हारी स्तुति की है. तुमने हमारा हव्य सुंगधित बनाकर पितरों को दिया है. पितर 'स्वधा' शब्द के साथ दिया हुआ हवि भक्षण करें. हे अग्नि देव! तुम हमारे प्रयत्न द्वारा संपादित हव्यों का भक्षण करो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O agni that knows all! We have praised you. You have made our havya fruged and given it to your fathers. Eat the given havi with the word 'swadha'. O God of agni! You eat the ravyas edited by our effort. (12)
ये चे॒ह पि॒तरो॒ ये च॒ नेह याँश्च॑ वि॒द्म याँ उ॑ च॒ न प्र॑वि॒द्म । त्वं वे॑त्थ॒ यति॒ ते जा॑तवेदः स्व॒धाभि॑र्य॒ज्ञं सुकृ॑तं जुषस्व ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद अग्नि! तुम उन सब पितरों को जानते हो, जो यहां आए हैं, जो यहां नहीं आए हैं, जिन्हें हम जानते हैं और जिन्हें हम नहीं जानते हैं. तुम स्वधा शब्द के साथ किए गए हमारे यज्ञ को स्वीकार करो. (१३)
EN English Translation
O all-knowing Agni! You know all the pitars (ancestors) who have come here, those who have not come here, those whom we know and whom we do not know. You accept our yajna done with the word Swadha. (13)
ये अ॑ग्निद॒ग्धा ये अन॑ग्निदग्धा॒ मध्ये॑ दि॒वः स्व॒धया॑ मा॒दय॑न्ते । तेभिः॑ स्व॒राळसु॑नीतिमे॒तां य॑थाव॒शं त॒न्वं॑ कल्पयस्व ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्वयं प्रकाश अग्नि! जो पितर अग्ने द्वारा जलाए गए हैं एवं जो नहीं जलाए गए हैं, वे सब स्वर्ग के बीच में स्वधा शब्द के साथ दिए गए हव्यों से प्रसन्न होते हैं. तुम उन पितरों के साथ मिलकर उनके देव शरीर को उनकी इच्छा के अनुसार बनाओ. (१४)
EN English Translation
O self-light agni! Those who have been burned by the fathers and those who have not been burned are all pleased with the greetings given with the word Swadha in the middle of heaven. You, together with those fathers, make their dev body according to their will. (14)
